I absolutely love this company and its one of the best guy stores next to the depot.. just like 300 is the best guy movie since gladiator.. Guys.. You know what i mean.. on top of that the way youre treated at this place and the great prices on most of the products make it a win win no matter who you are.. the selection of tools.. hardware.. tent, camping supplies and work chemicals is just great.. and Nick? I could spend all day long plus more with my boyfriend in this type of store in fact its one of our favorite places to go together plus we both share an interest in tools and its our way of spending time bonding together out and about at the same time plus it involves us spending more money then what we try to set for a goal amount or below but its worth it in the end and we both get to enjoy the tools we get.

Good prices on tools I would use minimally and can buy more. Quality seems decent on tools. There is never anyone there to answer questions on products unless you check out and hopefully that person knows something about the area of tools you are buying.

Everyone knows what youre getting when they go to HF. Cheap tools that may or may not last a few years or more. Great place to buy things to try and if you use them so much you break them at least you know how much youll use it and you can go buy an expensive one somewhere else.Bought a generator and miter saw over 3 years ago and theyre still going just fine.

Like shopping here but since covid prices are higher and things are limited at times.

Harbor freight is a store that a guy can wander around looking at everything that they have. They have upgraded some of their tools such as welders, sockets and socket wrenches, impact wrenches socket sets as theyre trying to put out a different image than what they had before. Everybody thinks of them having these real crummy cheap tools or equipment and yeah they still have them but you go in there you can see a good heavy duty stuff. I live in Eastern Iowa where we had a August 2020 Midwest derecho (Google it). I lost the majority of my shingles on my roof. Plus the sub roof was soaked and rotted. We put a 54x100 tarp we purchased from harbor freight over the house.as rain water was coming in. Tarp has been on since August and its about the first of February now. The tarp has kept me dry and warm in the house. The roofers were impossible to find after that huge storm. Their wrenches and such are made in Taiwan to their specifications. The these are not the Pittsburgh line that theyve always carried. I might want to look online to your local harbor freight to see the prices. I was surprised by the change in inventory it looks as good as anybody elses. The welders and plasma cutters are built by someone else with their name put on it theyre like a green front with big heavy cords coming out the back.

Its a pretty good joint for cheap tools but they didnt have the item I needed in stocks, the American items coming on the next shipment were all spoken for, and they didnt know when they would be available again. Not ideal

Out of what went to buy. Menards had the cutting tool that was price checking since was there already might as well see if prices are what they say cheaper here and that one wasnt so 11percent and cheaper out of gate.. keep eye on prices and double check cross street so worth the trip.

This place is really stepping up in the quality department. Their best tools are ones you would find professionals using! On top of that I would say a class leading waranty program. You could literally run over a power tool and if its in the waranty or extended waranty period they will give you a new one. No questions asked! Keep it up!

Good selection of tools and equipment here. Only worth shopping here with coupons tho. Girls at register can be a little deceiving. They offered my husband an extended warranty and told him it was only a couple dollars more. After getting home and looking at the receipt, we realized it was $50 more and when I called to ask them to explain their reasoning,they said it was only a couple dollars more than the original price if we had no coupons. Well that is why we had a coupon, to save money. The manager was very understanding and apologized for the confusion and refunded the warranty. I just wish they would have been more honest about prices.

When I bought the product the staff was not very helpful at all just point it said over there but when I brought the product bad because of failed so young that I had was wonderful

Very helpful staff, GREAT prices. Perfect for that specialty tool you need for a DIY project but will probably never use again. There are higher quality tools available at other retailers, but if you cant tell the difference, you probably wont need the higher quality (I mean that with respect to all the newbies out there)

Good cheap tools. If maintained properly will last a good amount of time.

Some items are out of stock. I needed to wait 2 weeks for a 5 inch wise. Previous week I needed wood clams and they was also out ot stock. Before this happen with service carts, rulers, mini auto fuses.....Some customers did not wear masks to prevent spreading of covid-19 and nobody asked them to do. Ridiculous.

Good tools cheap

I am normally very happy with my Harbor Freight experience but today they lost one star. The online inventory system said that they had the framing nailer I wanted in stock but a 30 mile round trip proved otherwise and they in fact did not have any.

Went there to pick up a cement I need for a small basement project. Walked inside and everyone said good morning, found what I needed, took the tag to the register, paid for it,parked in the loading zone,two guys loaded it up before I could get out of my truck,cant ask for any better service than that. Thanks Harbor Freight,Ill be back!

Lines got a bit long but manager just meandered around like he didnt need to man a register. Some of the staff is friendly but a few act as if you are a bother. Good deals if you pay attention to reviews. Certainly things to avoid as well as some great buys. Always pretty much the same things are on sale but once in a while you get a great coupon...

Drove 13 miles for two items 1 with coupon 1 insider track. Did not have them . 26 miles round trip for nothing. This time it happend

Need to teach Customer Service to their employees. Instead of walking past me and worrying about who you are closing with, and then turning your back to me when I had a question. Ill still shop there because I like the prices and the tools, but the employees make the experience bad.

Staff here always argues with you to try to get you to go to their website and get a discount or whatever its not worth it dont do it

Much smaller than many other HF locations. So the offerings were limited. But this was the only listed in Cedar Rapids. Got a few sale items and the auto clips I needed.

Very busy today, but got what we needed quickly and checked out quickly. Lots of people working so not a problem, plus they usually dont change stuff around much so it is easy to find. I do not care for the restroom remodel, 2 large single restrooms, unisex. I liked it better with a mens and womens restroom with stalls.

Very reasonable prices on just about every tool. Selection is limited because of space. My husband is a frequent shopper mainly due to price, but you get what you pay for and he knows that going in.

Had what I needed for a good price

Multiple times saw what I wanted on line, but store didnt have it in stock.

This place bailed me out. I had roof damage to my house and needed tarps to cover it. The store in Cedar Rapids had no power and they were still open!!!! The employee took me in the store with a flashlight and took me to the items I needed. His extra effort seriously saved my house from further damage.

Got a bauer polesaw. Its awesome.

Friendly staff. Tools are in a range from flimsy to fully professional. Most of their tools are just fine for their purpose. One thing Ive noticed is that they do, over time, redesign their best selling tools and theyre more durable and reliable. Their socket wrenches are a good example. One of my favorite places to shop.

Second time in a row the cashier tries to tell me that they got me a free warranty, when actually they take money that I saved and apply it to purchase a warranty without asking. Takes several questions to get them to say that I saved $50-100, and the warranty isnt actually free. I took the money in both instances because I didnt need the warranty. Sometimes I but the warranty, sometimes I dont. But I certainly want the truth about it and to decide. Both times the cashiers have gotten upset, I assume they get a cut on warranties sold.

For the weekend warrior you cant beat this place. Staff is always helpful and most are knowledgeable.

I have trouble rating harbor freight. I like this store, and their tools (which are low quality but silly cheap) are perfect if you are only using them a couple times, but Im sick of getting bugged for my info every time I go in. I dont want to be on their mailing list and had to tell their cashier 3 times (the last one a bit rudely) I wouldnt be giving out my phone number or address to buy a pack of gloves. Learn to take no for an answer the first time and Ill happily upgrade my review.

If youre not expecting to get top of the line professional tools for home owner projects, HF tools will work just fine. I usually come here for the one-time usage tools, not for repeated heavy use. Also, If you dont take ten seconds to download coupons, etc. youre spending more than you should.Employees are usually helpful and courteous.

If you set your expectations very low, you wont be disappointed. Ive bought some junk and Ive had some real bargains too. I keep expecting my cheap staple gun to die, but it just keeps going strong. Great for use once tools.
