I highly recommend ATS Automotive!!! I took my car there to get it inspected after sitting for a while and we discovered it was no longer safe to drive and beyond the point of repair. Stephen went above and beyond to be empathetic to our situation, and clear about what was happening. He patiently answered my questions, and even showed me pictures so I understood fully. Stephen seems to have found the perfect balance of professional and personable, which made our stressful situation much more bearable.We took my new car there for a used car inspection, discovered it needed a new brake light, ATS got it replaced right away, and I am again super grateful!!!I am not taking my car anywhere else, and I am going to tell all my friends to take their vehicles to this shop!!!Thank you, Stephen and ATS team, you all are awesome!!! :-)

The driver did an awesome job getting my sons low riding car onto the tow truck without any issues. The car was nicely secured and he took could care of doing so. He definitely knew what he was doing. He was there when expected and did an amazing job!!

If I could give this towing service a million stars, I would! My vehicle had a major mechanical malfunction just north of Iowa City after leaving UIHC yesterday on I-380. My husband searched towing services in CR on the cell phone and called ATS because of the high ratings. Tow truck driver, Mason, came to our rescue within minutes and never flinched about having to take my pickup, myself and my husband approx 60 miles farther north to our home. He made a very stressful situation much easier with his professionalism and friendly demeanor :). Thank you to the whole team for your awesome customer service!

After ATS replaced the struts and performed alignment on time at a lower cost than other bids, my wife stopped by ATS a few days later to retorque wheels and ask questions about the minivan. She expected to wait - and could not believe that Steven assisted her as soon as she arrived listening to her patiently and answering all of her questions in detail. You would expect such a treatment from a travel company trying to sell you an expensive vacation, not from a car guy!

One of the tow truck drivers is a pretty reckless driver. Tailgating people, speeding at least 10 over the speed limit, and making crazy turns. I dont think Id trust them with my car.

Alex was a rockstar!!! I am very impressed with his professionalism and expertice. Dont ever let someones age fool you. He really knew what he was doing. By the way, he arrived in less than 15 minutes for my tow!!! I would recommend ATS any time.

My wifes car slid into the ditch due to the ice on the road. I called 4 towing service companies, and they all said they couldnt get there before the mid-afternoon (this happened around 9:45 AM). I reached ATS and was told they could be there in about 30 minutes. Thats almost exactly how long it took their driver, Zach, to get there. Zach was professional and efficient and had her car out of the ditch in 15 minutes. Excellent service!

Roadside assistance - I needed a tire changed on a large specialty vehicle. Talk about underprivileged and over deliver - these guys were fast! I think Ive written ~3 reviews in the history of the internet, but man these people deserve 5 stars. I have AAA and after an unfortunate instance of operator error, my new vehicle wouldnt start this morning (I left the lights on overnight--super smart). After unsuccessfully trying to jump it after we pushed it out into the street, I called AAA and they told me they werent sure when someone could be out to assist me, but that theyd put my request in. The incredibly friendly and knowledgeable man from ATS called me almost immediately and let me know hed be here in about 10 minutes. He came, tried the same things wed been trying plus some other things, taught us a few tricks about my model of vehicle, and then, magically, on a last-ditch effort, made it start again. I am so incredibly thankful and he was so nice and so prompt! Hopefully I never need his services again, but if I do ever call AAA in the area again--I hope they send this guy!

Found myself an hour away from home needing a Jumpstart! I called ATS Automotive... I talked to Khris & Kelvin was the driver that jumped my car. Both were excellent people to deal with, their professionalism & friendliness calmed my frazzled nerves. And after making the initial call it took Kelvin only 10 minutes to find me. I got a flat tire at 1:30 in the morning driving home from work. I called AAA and they said they would have a tow available in an hour and a half. 3 a.m. rolls around and nothing. I give them a call back and they tell me that itll be another hour. 15 minutes goes by, and I get a call from Max, letting me know he would be there in about 10-15 minutes. I figured, thats nice, itll be nice to finally go home. But Max had other plans, he wanted to make sure everything was figured out. First off, he asked me if had been waiting long. I told him that it had almost been 2 hours and he said he felt so bad for that that he was willing to give me a ride home. Next, he made the suggestion to have my car dropped off at a tire place in town to make sure I can get new tires asap. Max was a very fun person to talk to, we had some great conversations.Maxwell Roethlisberger, thank you for making my day better, it honestly made my day. Keep up the great work, man. On a Sunday afternoon, my vehicle decided to malfunction in the parking lot of a Menards. My Ford Edge tried to tell me that the transmission was not in park. After a few message exchanges with the owner [Jennifer], had my Ford towed to their shop. The next morning, Stephen called me to clarify what was wrong. Fortunately through the miracles of Automotive repair, my ride decided it was working just fine! Insert joke about vehicles not working at home but working fine at the service shop. That being said, I asked Stephen to keep it a bit longer and I granted them permission to drive it around in an effort to duplicate the issue. They werent able to duplicate the issue. Well, I needed an oil change so I asked him if they could fit one in. I wasnt in need of my vehicle right away so I stopped by the shop the following day. Stephen greeted me on my way in and said that they went ahead and ran a diagnostics test on my vehicle at no charge! He pointed out a few areas on my ride that Ill want to keep tabs on and didnt feel pressured in any way! In fact, I left the shop wondering why I havent used ATS for all my vehicle needs in the past! Great service and even though my story was a bit anti-climatic, I found a service shop that Ill be doing business with again in the future!

I was in the market for a used car and they checked my choices out before I made the actual purchase and I am so glad I asked them to or I probably would have selected the lemon. I drive a big old semi. Im coming down the road and guess what happened. a red tow truck with ATS automotive towing a Subaru pulls right out in front of me. I had to hit my brakes so hard you could smell the metal and I know he saw me cuz he hesitated. I hope their automotive work is better than their tow truck driver

When an emergency strikes ATS automotive is the best place to have been connected through AAA. They were quick and efficient while educating me through the entire process. We ended up with a flat tire on Christmas Day, we called Triple A and they dispatched ATS Automotive to come and put on the spare. We still have 5 plus hours of travel to go today so we asked if they could fix the tire so we wouldnt have to drive home on a spare. Adam was able to to get the tire fixed on Christmas Day even though the shop was closed and his employees were off. We were then able to safely travel the rest of the day. One of your drivers was driving down 6th st SW near 33rd Ave Sw around 8:30 pm couldnt stay in his own lane. Almost side swiped me. I passed him and sure enough head was done on his phone. You would think driving that big of a vehicle you would be more concerned with driving and not your phone

We had an automobile that threw a shoe (and wheel) all the way into a farmers field about 4 miles west of C Rap in February 2013. The weather was freaky and rapidly changing, but we contacted a tow service, and they towed that car to ATS Automotive! While there, both my wife and I were treated cordially, issues with the ole bus were explained to us, and they would occasionally let us know how much longer they expected to be. When they were all done, we settled up promptly and pretty soon were on our way home. Also, I might add that this occurred at night. I dont remember what their hours were that evening, but it was well past sundown, and as I said before, the weather was turning worse in a hurry. In summing up our experience, I could not imagine having any finer service or finer young men help us out as did those gentlemen that evening. Im sorry I dont remember their names, or I would post them on here, but they know who they are, Im sure! I and my wife rate them absolutely first class!!! And we rate ATS Automotive a very fine, first class establishment! Thanks all of you there, for letting me speak out for you!!

Although many places would take advantage of the fact that Im a young girl that doesnt know much about cars, ATS was the amazing exception. I came to them after seeing they had the best reviews and can only add to that list. They not only got me in and out within an hour, they were very straight forward with fair pricing decided up front and literally took me into the shop to show me what they were seeing and walked me through, in detail, everything they found. Any questions I had were answered on the spot. They were incredibly nice, helpful, polite, and overall it was just a completely smooth and pleasant process. No hassle. No run-arounds. Kind of like your doctor it really helps to have a trustworthy mechanic. Had to take my 97 Wrangler in for some repairs (2 occasions) and they did an excellent job with an fair and honest price. I would HIGHLY recommend them and next time I need some help they will be the first place I call.

I have taken all my vehicles to be services at ATS and they have always done a great job. They look over my vehicle every time and give me a report on the status of it. I have never felt like they are taking advantage of me especially being a woman. I referred a friend of mine to have a used car inspection performed on a car she was thinking of buying and they were straight with her about how much work and cost would need to be done on it. They probably saved her from buying a lemon!! I will definitely be returning and sending everyone I know to ATS Automotive!

I was on my way from Sioux City, Iowa to Reading, Pennsylvania for college when my car began making a strange noise. As soon as I got to ATS they were very kind and helpful to my situation. They were quick and easy to work with, and did not try to oversell or upcharge. This is a great facility, family owned and operated, customer oriented, and highly recommended by myself.

ATS Automotive has responded to a few of my AAA roadside assistance calls lately. This last one was a flat tire from road construction. These guys are quick and professional. I could have done it myself, but it would have taken me 2 hours to accomplish what they did in 10 minutes. I even called one night when my daughters CV joint broke it was cold, snowing, and at 2 am. They were quick and got us towed by the time our ride showed up.

Very friendly and helpful. Took a used car that I was considering purchasing there for an inspection, and they were able to give me an extremely detailed report of the car at a reasonable price. If I lived in the area, this would be my first choice for a mechanic.

My mechanic closed unexpectedly and I went to ATS on the advice of a friend. They did a used vehicle inspection that seemed very through. I got my oil changed and 4 new tires for $400. About a week later my cars muffler starts to fail. I look under my car and the pipe has come loose (my car sits very low to the ground so this happens to me a lot) but when I looked under the car I noticed the pipe is rusted through! I would have at least expected that to be on the used vehicle inspection. I will not be using ATS again in the future.UPDATE: brought my car to a new mechanic, my whole exhaust is rusted through. Exhaust was no where on my vehicle inspection. ATS did a terrible job. Never going back

Steven & Andrew fixed our mini vans A/C at half the price another repair shop was charging. They went out of their way to thoroughly examine the A/C and just replace the parts that were needed. The other shop wrote me a quote to change the entire A/C system including Core after my mini vans A/C broke down last June. ATS people are very trustworthy and care to save you money. I wont take my familys cars anywhere else for repair.

Every time we bring in our car their service is exceptional and they remember us by name. Ive never had similar automotive service like is found at ATS. I dont often write reviews online but felt I should take the time to write about ATS.

My other half blew a tire on Hwy 30 today. One of the lugnuts was stripped down amd wouldnt come loose so he had to call AAA. Loved working with Andrew and he has went above and beyond assisting me at different times. Always has fair rates. Because of this obviously business has picked up and has additional staff so I dont always get the pleasure of working with Andrew, but his staff seems to be friendly enough. I look forward to them resolving the brake issues that I have had in which FIRESTONE attempted to correct but was unable to.

It was Thanksgiving Eve, a house full of family and I was preparing to host a tribe the next day. My truck was on loan to my out of town brother, now in town for a couple days. He noted a problem as the battery was not being charged. A call to AAA and the diagnoses was the 10 year old truck needed a new alternator. I called my usual repair shop- they could get me into the shop in 11 days! AAA said ATS could help me possibly yet before closing! So the truck was towed to ATS and before the night was over I had the new alternator and battery and was good to go. ATS was just great!

Its hard for me to trust a mechanic, because Ive been burned before by other mechanics in town. But the guys at ATS Automotive are always honest and upfront about what needs to be done, without sugarcoating the truth. I respect any company that wont bullshit me and then give me crappy service. As long as they are there, they will get my business.

I was on my way to Mount Rushmore when my car started seriously malfunctioning. I dropped it off here and he had it ready to go within 24 hours, and ahead of schedule. He even gave my car a free inspection to make sure it wouldnt give me any trouble on the rest of my trip. If youre in the area and need help this is the place to go.

I CANNOT praise this company enough. The owner and service writers are very honest. Integrity is huge in there line of work and to be honest there isnt much of that around southeast Iowa. True customer service they truly make you feel like they are there to HELP. They dont make you feel uncomfortable and pressured to purchase unneeded services like other locally owned Cedar Rapids shops. There master tech is kind of an odd fella but the knowledge in that building is simply unmatched. Me being a DIY guy they are my first stop for diagnoses that stump me to to the point of having many sleepless nights and throwing parts on. Example I Had my GFs Camry in just last night with a GOD AWFUL belt squeal and a vibration that would rattle the teeth out of your mouth. After quick diagnosis there master tech determined that the belt tensioner I had installed was binding and not keeping proper tension. Now with the vibration. I had installed all 4 new motor mounts. And with the harmonic balancer being in good working order I had NO CLUE on how to get rid of the engine vibration. He verified the repairs I had made and came to the conclusion that the spark plugs were bad JUST ENOUGH to cause an light ignition misfire just enough to cause rough conditions but not enough to cause the check engine light to come on. I left feeling pretty confident because he thoroughly explained to me what was happening. So today I bought new plugs and installed them. To find out he was absolutely right. I would have been chasing these issues for months I wish I would have gone to them in the first place.

In a business where there can definitely be shadiness, ATS automotive repair is as honest and fair as they could possibly be. They helped a college student, who had a thin budget and an old car. Though the car ended up being terminal and will soon need to go to the junk yard, the mechanic was forthright about everything, and did just enough repairs to keep her eeking out some final time with her car. They could have nickeled and dimed her for a long time, but instead, she was treated kindly and respectfully. Such service! We wish ATS Automotive much continued success. When she is able to replace her car, this will be where shell be taking it for repairs and maintenance.

Called AAA at 5:30 and they told ATS would be here about 6:15. A few minutes later ATS called to check location and said was on the way. At 7:45 AAA called and said that ATS did not have a truck available. 8:00pm and no word from AAA or ATS. Wouldnt recommend either to anyone.

This was the 3rd shop i sent my car too after being told things were wrog like battery computer etc. This shop told me the truth about what was wrong and they also told me that even if i paid thim that amout the couldnt ve sure my car would start rather than trying to have me just throw money at my car, the mechanic who worked on my car was honest, trustworthy and thoroughly knew what he was talking about, the only reason they dont have 5 stars is because for diagnostics are charged by the hour rather than a flat rate which is an industry standard, but it was cheaper to pay them 200.00 to know what was wrong rather than spend 2500, i recommend anyone go to them you will get every penny worth !

Feel like we were taking advantage is for sure right, Took car in to check coolant leak and have oil change, Next day they tell me have coolant leaking from hoses, water pump, head gasket, ect... tell me its going to cost $3000 - plus to fix just the coolant problems, i was like hell no Im not having that fixed. Told them was going to have to trade it in and get a different vehicle. I took my car to get a second opinion and was told it was just an auxiliary pump leaking coolant and only cost me $146. Its been over a week and have not had any coolant leaking. Was very upset can not believe they went that low and tried doing that. I did business with them before and thought they were not like that, but they are. Never will do business their again. Disgusted!
