My boyfriend was looking for his first car and ended up purchasing a Honda here. We had gone to a couple of dealerships in both Iowa City and Cedar Rapids prior to coming to Randy Kuehl Honda, however; we had a great experience here and ended up with a car that we love. We worked with Korey Sederburg and found him to be genuine, friendly, and accommodating. Korey responded to our car inquiry in a timely fashion and ended up meeting with us that same day. Korey was helpful all round and made the car buying process easy. Overall, we are satisfied with our experience and will return in the future for any car purchases.

I worked with Tim Carson and found him to be largely unhelpful. Perhaps not due to his own incompetence, but rather the recalcitrance and inflexibility of the dealership. For example, they offer less than what CarMax offers for your car. Thus, it’s better to drop your keys off with CarMax, get a check, and then go to the Honda dealer.Every aspect that you hate about dealing with car salespeople will happen at this dealership. You’ve been warned.Billion in Iowa City is better and only a short drive away.

We were in the market for a Honda Ridgleline and we found a listing on CarGurus to Randy Kuehl Honda. We filled out the contact form on their website and we were promptly replied to by our salesman Ron Lowenberg. Ron did a good job of answering all of our questions and he was quick to reply back and forth by text message. We traveled 5 hours from South Dakota to purchase our truck and we were not disappointed. I had asked Ron before driving to pick up the truck if there were any open recalls or service bulletins that needed to be done before we picked up the truck. He said he checked and there werent any, but two days later he checked again and there was a service bulletin out for the fuel cap. He had the part Fedex shipped to them and the service shop had the part installed before we arrived to pick up the vehicle. When we got to the dealership we were expecting the paperwork to take 30-60 minutes from past experiences at other dealerships. Ron and Jason had us send over some of the information before we got there and we were in and out of there in 5 minutes. Jason did a great job of going over all of the details and we appreciate that he wasnt a pushy salesperson trying to make you buy an extended warranty (or other misc items) that we were not interested in. So far this has been one of our best car dealership experiences and we will definitely keep them in mind for future vehicle purchases.

If I could describe Matt Smith in a word . . . well, there are a few. Attentive. Thorough. Determined. And as a result of those traits, a truly phenomenal salesman.I have been buying cars from Matt Smith for approximately 4 years now. Round I was a used Honda Accord that I was able to buy free and clear. When I had to replace the Accord, he sold me a used car that was not actually a Honda, but which I ended up loving after years on the road. That decision has made Matts job a lot harder since I am now somewhat loyal to that type of car . . . and also to Matt and Nate Kuehl, because I know theyll take care of me if they can.Several months ago, I told Matt I was in the market for a new car and described what I wanted. He was up-front about not having what I was after, but promised to keep an eye on his used car inventory. When the car came in that he knew I would buy, he contacted me before the car was cleaned out or posted on the Randy Kuehl website.Prior to my test drive, Matt spent an entire day researching a completely new brand of car so he would be knowledgeable about specific features when I arrived. I dont live in Cedar Rapids, so Matt also researched the locations closest to my home for foreign car maintenance. He had a list of anticipated routine repairs and already knew the factory-brand recalls for which I was eligible. By the time I arrived at the dealership that afternoon, I think Matt was more excited about my new car than me.I gave Matt a payment limit and told him that if he could give me that payment, he had a sale; if not, I would wait until something more affordable came along. Matt went to bat with his finance manager and with Nate Kuehl to get me a payment I could afford. He got that payment to within $15 of my limit - which included the carry-over loan from my trade-in, an aftermarket service contract, and GAP insurance. I am now driving a car that is newer, has approximately 1/4 the miles of my old car, and has more bells and whistles than I ever dreamed. And Matt even came into work on his day off to close the deal.I am a happy customer. And I will be loyal to Randy Kuehl Honda for YEARS to come.

A/C wasnt working on my 2019 Ridgeline, made an appt online had to wait 2 weeks for the 7:30 appt, no problem, they wanted to do an a/c service which was going to cost nearly $300. I had to fight to get them to do an inspection first because I thought this was a warranty issue. They kept my truck all day, never looked at it, called at 3:30 and said that they might be able to get to it the next day and did I want to leave the truck there. Two weeks later I take the truck to Billion Honda, who are happy to do an inspection first, it turned out to be an active service bulletin and completely taken care of under warranty service. Thanks for nothing Randy Kuehl!

My wife and I bought our first Honda eight years ago back when they were at the old building. Theyve since upgraded their building and its HUGE with more inventory and a much larger service and sales area. Our Honda Accord runs as well now as it did the day we drove it home for the first time.With that in mind, my wife and I went shopping for a SUV this past week and talked to a bright young salesman named Chris Kaegbein.Chris was patient, not pushy at all, and answered all our questions. Im a very large guy and my wife is very small. Because of this, cabin space and the amount of space a vehicle has behind the wheel is extremely important to us. Unfortunately, my wife and I werent able to find a vehicle we both could comfortably enjoy, so we ended up buying a different make.Im writing this review because Ive had nothing but positive experiences with Randy Kuehl Honda every time Ive been there, and this time was no exception. Chris is a straight shooter that is a genuine pleasure to do work with.

This video gives so much more information than any sales person I’ve worked with! Their channel has several informative videos on other vehicles as well. My most recent visit to Randy Kuehl Honda has left me disappointed and aggravated. When a check engine light came on in our van. I checked the code, which turned out to be P0301, and when I checked the spark plug from the first cylinder, I observed a significant buildup of carbon.Knowing this was not normal, I did some research and discovered Service Bulletin 13-081, which addresses a condition I believe is impacting my vehicle. Therefore, instead of replacing the plugs myself, I took it to Randy Kuehl Honda. Upon their inspection, they confirmed the error code P0301, but told me that they did not believe the plugs were fouled. However, when I told them that I had removed the plug myself, took pictures of it, and that it looked exactly like the photos in SB 13-081, they said they would send the information to their Honda America representative for review.I was then told was that because the plugs were Autolite plugs and not Genuine Honda NGK plugs that the SB doesnt apply. I was beyond frustrated with this response, but reluctantly gave them permission to do the work so I could at least have a record of problems when the code pops again. I also asked them to save the old plugs. If you check out the attached photos, you can see all 6 of the plugs the dealership removed, and it is very clear which ones came from cylinders 1, 3 and 5. These plugs have over 50,000 miles on them and it is very obvious to me that there is a leakage problem in these cylinders. Nonetheless, Randy Kuehl staff said that SB 13-081 specifically states that the warranty work can only be done if the fouled plugs are Genuine Honda plugs. Their stance is that the Autolite plugs void that warranty.To add insult to injury, I was charged $418.32 for the service - $183.90 for the parts and $193.50 for the labor. And I still will have to look forward to a $5,000-$8,000 engine repair due to leaking seals.

I was able to test drive the car I wanted immediately, and had the whole deal squared away same day. They were even generous enough to give me a loaner vehicle to drive while they detailed the car I was purchasing! And THAT car was a nice ride too! I found the dealer I worked with (Chris) to be very responsive to my questions. Overall the entire experience was great. I will definitely go to Randy Kuehl again next time I need a vehicle.

My girlfriend bought a brand new HRV. We had a tire blowout in Missouri. There was 800 miles total on the car. The Missouri Honda dealership deemed it defective. Chanin Dirks told us to just take pictures of the tire and we will be reimbursed for the $215 tire. Now they are saying since we dont have the physical tire it will not be covered. General Sales Manager Dan Quinby said to come in and talk, but when we got there he refused to speak with us. Seems like this dealership only cares about making sales and not the people after the sale. I will continue telling everyone I know to never buy a car here every chance I get.

I had heard good things for quite a number of years and always had it in the back of my mind to go to Randy Kuehl Honda. We worked with Steve Lord and bought a new Civic Hatchback that is perfect for us! Since we werent sure what we wanted or what the choices were, we asked him to show us a whole range of cars. We did a number of test drives and Steve was very knowledgeable about the features and answered our all our questions. We had already decided we would sleep on what we had seen and Steve was fine with that. He gave us the time and space to analyze and discuss our decision. Buying a car, especially a new one, is a huge decision, not to be rushed through. Given time to think, we decided to go with the prepaid maintenance and will be coming for all our service here. Our experience couldnt have been better. We originally visited the dealership to help our granddaughter find a used car. Tim Carson helped us, and we were very impressed how thorough and patient he was with all of our questions, and appreciated his no-pressure manner. I decided to sell her my car and buy a new one, so we returned to the dealership to find Tim. We met Tim on Saturday, he took us for a test drive of 2019 CR-V, and we really liked it. He thoroughly explained all the features and benefits of the vehicle, didnt pressure us once to buy the car. We told him we were also looking at 2 other similar SUVs, after which we went to both Toyota and Subaru to see how the vehicles compared. We test drove all of the vehicles on Saturday. On Monday we called Tim and ended up making the deal. We really appreciated his low-key, honest sales approach. Ive already recommended him to one of my friends.

I ran into a major issue, ate gears in my 2019 Civic Si and thought I was going to be out of service for months. Luckily for me the service writers and district manager were able to get my car in and out within 2 days of work. They replaced everything that was broken under warranty and gave me nothing but good service. Highly recommend this dealership if you happen to run into any serious problems with your Honda. Jeff Moss was great to work with. I had many features on my must have list for my new vehicle. He helped me determine which model of the Pilot was right for me based on my requirements. My experience at Randy Kuehl was the complete opposite. Both Chris and Chanin were really helpful and made sure I found a vehicle that was perfect for me. My wife and I are from out of town and noticed a used Toyota Highlander for sale. I called and talked to Tim, and decided to take a look at it. When we got there Tim was finishing up with a customer, Ron greeted us and was quite helpful explaining the features of the vehicle. Tim came out a few minutes later, very personable and professional, with a good sense of humor. My wife and I test drove the vehicle, Tim answered all our questions. We enjoyed visiting with Tim and found we had many things in common. They made us feel that they were glad we were there.We were too far apart in price to make a deal with our trade-in and decided to try to sell our car privately, Tim kept working on the pricing and we were able to agree on a price with our trade-in, drove home in very nice used vehicle. Thank you Tim!Thanks Bryce for making the financing so easy.Only downside was a low pressure tire light on the dash which we asked about. The tires all were like new, It turned out not to be just a simple reset of the tire pressure system, but three tires with low batteries in the valve stem sensors, cost us $240 at our local tire dealership. My bad, I try to make sure everything works properly before buying but missed it this time.All in all it was an excellent experience with Tim and the dealership. I went into car dealership specifically to test drive a CR-V. Ron went out with me and explained many details of the car to me as I drove. Brought my husband back a few days later to make sure he would fit in car as well. (He is 62 and fit just fine.) . We were able to settle quickly on a price for our trade-in and our new CR-V that we felt was very fair based on the homework we had done. Stopped in the following day to pick up our car... Jason was ready with paperwork, the car was clean, full of gas, and Ron went through details to make sure we felt comfortable with how all the new features worked. Tim is patient, informative and easy to work with. When I first stopped by the dealership, Tim asked me about my interests and then helped me talk through the qualities I desired and explained the and pros and cons of various models. When I narrowed my decision down to the Honda Accord, we took it for a spin to make sure it was the right car for me. Prior to the test drive, Tim patiently explained the safety, entertainment and convenience features. Upon returning and after learning the price-range I was considering, he met with his sales manager, Dan Quinby, and they wasted no time offering me a fair trade-in value for my car.When I came in just three business days later to pick up the Accord they had ordered for me, Tim explained the settings I could choose from and then set up the car to my exact specifications. More importantly, their service department is top notch! I have all of my vehicle maintenance done at the dealership, as their prices are fair and their service staff are great to work with. I spoke with Steve Lord and expressed interest in buying a small car from Randy Kuehl Honda. I gave him my email address (best way to contact me) and waited over a week. No email. I tried reaching out to him by the email address on the business card I received from Steve Lord. He never responded.A few days later I drove through the lot and he still works there. The small car we discussed was still available. And there He was standing with some customers. Very unprofessional work ethic.I have had the unpleasant experience of interacting with the service department personnel. They are quick, but that is where the compliment ends. They are constantly cursing where customers can hear them. And they have a tendency to be careless and force fragile objects such as electric keys and small electronics. They with hold valuable information. And they attempted to start a racial fight with a customer just because the customer had troubles understanding the parts department guy’s accent.Who tries to bait a verbal fight over race when the parts guy is hard to understand? Has nothing to do with race, it has 100% to do with how well the communication was between a dealership employee and a customer.Very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience at Randy Kuehl Honda. I will not be back after the way they treated me and the other customer I mentioned above.Hopefully others have a better experience there than I did.Michael

Very poor service. Unacceptable. Looks like the just want to make money. I have given my car for recall and asked to fix one issue. They told me that the repair will require near about $100, i just told them go ahead and fix it. After doing repair they says it require more $250 bucks, i asked them to go ahead and fix. But they didnt. After a month I went to meineke and they diagnose in front of me and identified the correct issue. This shows that Randy Kuehl Honda people are not capable to fix the issue with correct way. Looks like they dont have technical knowledge to fix the issue.

Came in to see a Mazda that I found on Facebook Marketplace posted by “Crazy” Chris.Chris was very helpful and polite even though I was transparent that I was more interested in another car comparable to the one Chris was showing me. Low/ no pressure on me and was happy to pull the carfax on their car as well as the other car I was interested at another dealership. I would definitely recommend buying a car here very pleasant to work with just didn’t have the exact car I wanted today.

I had a great first car buying experience at Randy Kuehl Honda, their customer service was excellent. I was searching on their website and found a car I was interested in, so I sent a request for more information. Within 10 minutes I got a phone call from one of the salesman, Chanin. We set up an appointment and when I arrived the car was out front and he had everything prepared. He answered all of my questions honestly and wasnt pushy about anything. He was very personable and made me feel very comfortable. I am very happy with the purchase of the car. I would highly recommend Randy Kuehl Honda!

I came into the dealership expecting my price would not be met and my expectations low. Talking with Ron it was clear he was very knowledgeable on the car I was looking at. He answered all of my questions and was very polite and easy to work with. I did not feel pressured and, surprisingly, they quickly came to my price. Tim Carson was a pure delight to deal with. He asked the right questions to help me hone onto the model that I wanted with the accessories that I envisioned for me. He found the perfect car for me without going through a lot of monkey business. He took a lot of time with me showing me the features and how they worked. This is the absolute worst car dealer I have ever experienced in 35 years of buying cars. Upon arriving I informed the salesman that I intended to purchase a new top of the line CR-V and described 3 vehicles they had on their lot that I was interested in. We proceeded to look at one of them and along the way I informed the salesman that within the week I would be requesting pricing from all the dealers in the area who had vehicles of interest to me and make my purchase from whoever could put together the best deal. As we were preparing to start a test drive I asked the salesman to explain the difference between the vehicle we were in and the other ones they had on the lot. At that point he informed me that he was not going to waste his customer service efforts on someone who was going to buy based on price. This left me dumbfounded. How dare a salesman treat a buying customer in such a manner! Needless to say the test drive was over before it began. We walked back to our car loudly discussing the matter in front if the few other customers on the lot, with him telling us how we as customers DISRESPECTED him and his superior customer service. At which point he turned his back on us and walked away. Never in my life have I experienced such treatment as a customer. We went directly to a competitors lot. When I shared this story with them they stated that this Randy Kuehl Honda dealership is kind of a local embarrassment.Overall, just in general appearance this is a joke of a dealership. It reminds me of some small town has-been dealership that has been neglected for 20 years. Their facilities are small, dated, run-down and generally dumpy. Obviously the sales staff lack any level of professionalism. Im left with the impression that they know they cannot compete with the other Honda dealerships in the area and they take their frustration out on the occasional well-informed car buyer that happens to stumble on their lot. I fully intend to discuss this matter with the Honda corporate people. My opinion of Honda as a brand will hinge on their response. In the meantime this one incompetent salesman at a has-been dealership has cost Honda a significant new car sale.

However, experience here was easy, no pressure, and fair - we came prepared - had looked at average sales price for this car in the area and trade in value for our car and I think they gave us a decent deal. Went here looking for a trade in about a week ago and the amount of help and the quality of the customer service was absolutely phenomenal. They were very helpful with helping me find exactly what I asked for and what I was looking for in a car. I came back a few days later to go and look at a car and Steve Lord came and helped me find the exact car that I wanted from the start. I was so pleased with the service that I received from the their team I felt very welcome and was taken care of very well. They worked very very hard to have me leave as happy as I could with the car I wanted and before the end of the day they worked out a plan in my favor in budget. So I left with exactly what I wanted for my budget and left extremely happy with my new 2008 Honda Civic ex, its one of the best deals I have ever gotten at any dealership. I strongly recommend it to everyone out there looking for a high quality car from a dealership that always puts their customers best interest first, and does everything in their power to have their customers leave very happy and leave with the car they come in for. Matt Smith was very friendly and knowledgeable. He covered every detail, showing me all the features of my new car. My sister had recommended Matt, as she had recently purchased two vehicles from him. Matt worked very hard to get me into the car I wanted at the price I was willing to pay. We were coming home to Minneapolis and got a blown tire in Cedar Rapids. We put the donut tire on and knew we couldnt make it back 200+ miles with it. We lucked out that the Honda dealership was a mile from our hotel. We needed new tires anyway so I got to the dealership at 7am. I had to get back to the cities for work. The guys at Randy Kuehls service and parts department took me by the hand and got the job done even with a full plate of service work for the day. The waiting room was filled with people with appointments. I was out of there an hour from the time they opened with new tires and on our way back home. I couldnt believe that the 5-6 employees I had contact with all cared about my situation and made me feel important. Being treated this well with very little chance I would ever be a long term customer because I live 250 miles away was incredible. Being a businessman myself I expect good service and I will let companies know when I get superb service I always find time to recognize it. Incredible job from the team from the moment I walked in to the time I was out of there - first class. Theres an adage of spirit of service - you cant fake it. Thanks for the great job and I would recommend them highly.

I am new to the area and needed to have a regular oil change scheduled. Even with the low star reviews I saw on some different sites, I decided to try out the place since it’s close. I wasn’t disappointed. The service guys were very nice and accommodating, the oil change was done within 25-30 minutes and I was out the door without any additional “issues” needing fixed right away as most Honda dealerships try to pull over on you. I will be coming back again.
