Literally the easiest most comfortable car buying experience Ive ever had. Tommys pleasant demeanor made it feel like a 4th of July barbecue rather than a car sale. Being able to consult with a technician about the cars history showed me just how much they care about the products that theyre offering. Christians extensive knowledge about European vehicles assured me that I was working with true professionals, and that my vehicle would be in the most qualified hands. I even got to chat with the owner Pete and his wife Suzy, who were both lovely to talk to. I was in and out in under an hour, and everybody on the team made sure that I was receiving top notch service. I wish there were more stars!

By far the smoothest and best car buying experience from any dealer I’ve ever purchased a car from. Suzy was excellent and even picked me up from the airport in my new car! She had the paperwork ready and I was on my way in less than 30 minutes. The M2 is absolutely beautiful and a hoot to drive. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I needed a car pronto..walked into the dealership, drive tested two vehicles with the affable and knowledgeable Tommy Harris ( Hes supposedly in sales but it felt more like I was riding with a mechanic who gave me excellent information about the car.This was by far the best car buying experience I have had. What blew me away was their abject honesty. I was of two minds on which vehicle to buy, and I asked Tommy and later DJ and they were so forthright. The nail in the coffin was when I walked in the next day and the owner told me that someone had offered more for the car i was buying, but that it was my choice if I wanted to give it up or not.These guys are the best!

I cannot say enough good things about this dealership, they are amazing!! Their honesty and transparency in the buying process is how buying a car should be, I wish all dealerships were run like this one.I prefer older European cars and only drive stick shift cars, not exactly the easiest to find these days. I live out of state and saw a car that Ive been looking for for quite some time (it was even a wagon!!) on their website. I worked with Suzy and she was phenomenal, great customer service skills and gave me all the info I was looking for. I love that they even do shipping for out of state buyers, it certainly makes the logistics of buying a vehicle out of state a little easier.I wouldnt hesitate to purchase a vehicle from them and plan on keeping an eye on their website and inventory to see what other gems they get on the lot. Its so rare to find a dealership with a selection of older cars that cater to enthusiasts, I was thrilled to find this one!

Pete, the owner, was instrumental in getting us on the right path - with no benefit to himself other than hopefully the satisfaction in knowing he helped us. He was very knowledgeable and responsive. This review is like 4 months overdue because Im forgetful and great at procrastinating. My car got damaged in the derecho like many other people. It ended up needing way more work done than the insurance adjuster had found, so it was at EM for almost 3 months due to extensive engine repairs. Everyone was so nice, transparent, and understanding during the whole thing. I felt bad that my car was just sitting there taking up space, and I also felt bad about constantly calling to see if they had any updates. The people I ended up talking to the most were DJ and Mayte, and they were awesome through the whole process. I think I also talked to Tommy? a couple of times as well, and he was also very nice. 10/10 would recommend them and they will be where I take my car while Im in Cedar Rapids.

I did not purchase anything from European Motors Limited except a pre-purchase inspection on a potential Porsche 911 I was going to purchase from a different local dealer. DJ was amazing. Very informative, prompt service. They sent plenty of pictures... good, bad, and ugly of the car. Reasonable estimates on needed repairs. All this during the COVID pandemic... for someone they have never met... who was car shopping from hundreds of miles away. Super honest, fair... Let me start with, that i found this porsche carrera s on the website and called Kyle. After several questions and good answers i decided i wanted the car without even see it. He went and took several videos of the car and texted them to me. amazing, finally today i went to get the car and it was nothing but good exactly how he described it to me. He went and hook me up with a uhaul and got my car on it for me and put me on the road at no time. Amazing experience, no my friend will buy his porsche from them. Tommy is the guy to talk to at European Motors. He is one of the rare HONEST used car salesmen. We bought a fair priced 2013 Lexus Rx350 during a terrible used car market. My wife and I are very pleased. My parents have been taking their Mercedes Ml350 and their BMW z4 there for service for a while now and LOVE how theyre treated! Tommy was exceptional to work with. Very kind, responsive and detailed. Helped make the buying experience of the 11 Mercedes Benz C300 a very enjoyable one. Client for life! Ill make this review as short as possible: I started coming here when another mechanic in town told me my BMW needed a new motor. The shop at European Motors was fair and honest with me, and I was out the door for less than $200. I have been back here and there for other issues, and its always the same experience- everyone is always fair and up-front. Just bought my Mercedes from them, and while I hope to be in the shop less, I wouldnt think of taking it anywhere else, or buying from anybody else.

This is one of the most honest car dealerships in Cedar Rapids. They are willing to talk straight with you, help you finance, and they do all the work on your car themselves so you know you are getting good and honest care. After driving to Chicago to look at other BMW 335s that were priced lower, we returned and bought the first one we drove that was at European Motors. It ended up being in much better condition than others advertised for less and we felt comfortable buying locally knowing they had an excellent service center. After a few years of ownership, we could not be happier with the BMW, the sales experience and their service center. We would do it all over again, but skip the drive to Chicago!

I would recommend anyone to use the service department. Foreign cars can be a struggle as the cost sometimes to service can be high and they try to help give you confidence that you are not being taken advantage of.

I wanted a summer car for some retirement traveling this summer. I live in ND. I spoke with Ang about a MB convertible. I have bought a ton of cars over my career. She made me feel she was selling one of her own favorite vehicles. I bought the car without test driving it or seeing it live. My opinion is the if you are selling high value cars you ensure that they live up to the Brands reputation. Everything about the car was exactly as Ang told me. She came into work on her day off to meet me and finalize the deal. Name another dealer whos sales reps do that. I give Ang and European Motors of Iowa a huge WELL DONE for customer service and value. They understand how to treat customers.

I was going to purchase a Jeep Wrangler unlimited from European Motors but was disappointed in how the vehicle was advertised and shown on the internet. I called Tommy the salesman and we discussed the vehicle. He said it was in excellent condition.(almost brand new!!) I told him I was over 4 1/2hours away and I wanted to know about any of the flaws the vehicle had with the body. He said there was one small door ding. Once again I told him I was driving a long ways and to please tell me if there was anything else. He said no but was willing to walk around the vehicle with his cell phone to show me how clean it was. I told him the quality probably wouldnt show any imperfections but that was fine if he wanted to. My son and I drove over 4 1/2 hours to the dealership and within one minute of seeing the vehicle, I noticed chips and scratches all over the vehicle and even some rust and the hood had been bent on both sides and there were additional scratches on the hood and another dent on the top of the hood. I asked Tommy why he didnt tell me about any of the other dents and scratches and he said that the sun was really bright when I called earlier and he missed all of them.......I was really frustrated after driving over 4 1/2 hours there and now I had to drive over another 4 1/2hours back home for a 9 hour round trip. European Motors never offered any other apology. I am never going back to this dealership and wouldnt recommend it to anyone that has to drive over 5 minutes to look at a vehicle and then you have to question the integrity of any dealership that wouldnt tell a customer and his son that has 9 hours of driving to do about any flaws and to just be honest with me. What a waste of a day and European Motors could care less.

Dealt with Tommy, ran my credit and while we were discussing details he disappeared for 2 days. Car was no longer available (understandable) but no courtesy to even notify me after a dozen calls and emails the days prior. As an out of state customer I would definitely avoid doing business here. Waste of time and credit inquiry.

Great service department. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Easy to talk to and discuss issues and potential solutions. They are a bit more $ but this is understood based on the uniqueness of my car. Yes, I would recommend them!Only gripe I had is there really isnt a waiting room. Only chair I saw was outside. I did not ask so they may have had one in the back.

Great service! Had a starter changed and they gave me a great price compared to a competitor. When it came a little over the quote for shop supplies, they gave a future discount and free oil change. Everyone was friendly and easy to work with. Not something thats easy to find in auto service. Will definitely be coming back for my next service.

Buying a used car will rarely ever be the same for every person, there are just too many variables at play. But I had a very pleasant experience buying my car from European Motors. Kyle did not pressure me in the slightest, he was very helpful throughout the whole process. I went there to look at one specific car and ended up buying something completely different, but that was my choice and Kyle never once tried to steer me towards, nor away from, any car in their inventory. I was given plenty of time to think about my options, given multiple opportunities to take test drives, and got a very fair price on both the car I bought and my trade-in. When a very minor maintenance issue surfaced the week after my purchase, John and Kyle helped me get it resolved very quickly and did not try to make any extra money off of me because of it. I havent bought many cars in my lifetime, but on the whole, this was the smoothest car-buying experience Ive ever had.

My vehicle has over 409,000 miles! The only person I ever have work on my vehicle is Marvin!I will not trust anyone other than Marvin to touch the vehicle. I highly recommend searching him out. He has great people skills and a few busted knuckles from getting deep into the engine.

I purchased a 2014 Jetta TDI Sportwagon over the weekend from European Motors. The car has a clean title but the salesman failed to mention the car had been in a front end collision which I was able to notice quickly after seeing the car in person. The repair is mediocre at best by not using factory fasteners, cheap replacement headlight that is full of condensation, the washer fluid pump which was replaced from the collision however obviously not confirmed to work after the repair, and the use of JB weld instead of seam sealer. Before making the 4 hour drive the salesman did send me some pictures of minor body scrapes I had requested along with some I did not catch, this was a plus and was appreciated. When I test drove the car there were no lights on the dash and it drives great, however, as I started it to leave the parking lot the check engine light popped on with an intake flapper position code. This was expected due to my knowledge of these cars but was also not disclosed during the sale and salesman scanned the car before I left and cleared the code. The light came back on today so I scanned the car using Vagcom (factory scan tool), to my surprise every computer module in the car was riddled with codes, total of 60 codes. Most of the cars functions work besides the back up camera and one touch driver side power window but this either shows neglect to make sure the modules were cleared and fix the problems throwing the codes or they do not have scan tools that can fully access these modules, which would be surprising based on the inventory which includes many VW & Audis. Finally, I was very disappointed when I went to put new license plates on and all the fasteners were incorrect. This resulted in too large of holes for correct fasteners and the fasteners used were too long which rubbed through the paint and caused small rust spots.Overall the service was okay and Im happy with my purchase. The point of this review is to make the neglected items known to buyers who have less experience in what to look for in used vehicles.

I came there for an oil change. The oil change costed $128, but it was noted on the sheet given to me that there was “multiple active oil leaks”. In less than 2 weeks (10 days to be exact), my car is out of oil! Bone dry, out of oil with oil all over the engine which is a clear indication of a leak! They will not give me a refund. The best they said they could do was “possibly top it off” if he speak to his supervisor. I don’t know what that means, but I’m assuming that means to put more oil in the vehicle which would be pointless knowing that it’s leaking and will leak onto the engine and possibly catch fire. The mechanic, DJ, said he doubt the vehicle ran through that much oil (5 quarts) in 10 days, but I got witnesses with 3 of them being mechanics that the car did not have any oil! It was also noted by the mechanic that a screw was loose and another part wasn’t placed back properly. They said they was not in the wrong and did what I requested. I would have rather them give me the option to not get the oil change because of active oil leaks and increased pressure in my canker-case than to just do it because that was what I requested. I’m a mechanic by no means, so I don’t know cars, but if I knew this oil change would be ineffective, I would have not gotten the oil change and would have rather fixed the leaks. Using their professional judgement, they knew it would be ineffective yet did it because that’s what I requested. Also, Dj suggested that I burned off that oil by driving because of the pressurized cranker-case, but 1 quart should roughly last 1,500 miles. I haven’t reached that many miles, not even 500 miles. Looking for a buck rather than looking out for the customers is what this company is about! I work in the healthcare world where we don’t perform tasks that we know will not help the patient. The people that do are looking for a buck just like this company. Out of $128 for nothing! Poor customer service! They better not get on here trying to defend themselves because you are WRONG. Would not recommend this place to NO ONE!

Recent fixes included repairing a leaking radiator & installing a new battery on our Audi A4s. Theyve obviously had an employee & management turnaround because the current staff is amazing -- unlike the previous. While their prices are a little high, I suppose we expect that when servicing foreign cars. $110 / hr labor. Wow. But they do great work & are very friendly and helpful.

I was very pleased with our buying experience at European Motors Limited. In may of 2013 we purchased a 1999 BMW M3 convertible which we still own as of 2/24/2016. We havent had any problems with the car. We were given a carfax report and we knew the car had been bought from another dealer out of state. Ive been to European Motors a lot over the years. They have a great selection of cars. Its how Id imagine heaven. These guys know their stuff. I bought a 2014 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI 6-speed manual through Tommy. Overall, I am extremely happy with the entire experience and I would not hesitate to buy from European Motors (or Tommy) again.I live in the Minneapolis, MN metro area and had been watching the market for TDIs for about a month. When I ran across this car at European Motors, I was thrilled to find a TDI with literally every single option I wanted (even down to the color). The miles were a little high at 148k, but thats nothing for a TDI.Since I was not local, Tommy did a facetime video call walk-around of the car with me. He showed me all the little nicks and dings in the paint and wheels, the interior, and started the engine and showed me under the hood. Tommy was a great communicator before and after the sale. After agreeing on a price, I put a non-refundable deposit down to hold the car and then figured out logistics of how/when I would get down there to pickup the car.After a quick test drive and a chat with my own car guy, I decided to move forward with the purchase. Since I am able to work remotely, I was working in Cedar Rapids for the day back at the hotel I had stayed in. When my friend and I went out for lunch, we noticed a rear window did not go up and down. I called Tommy and he said to bring it by right away. Their tech had it fixed in under 2 hours and I was back to the hotel to work.Since getting home, Ive had a few conversations with Tommy. These guys seem to really know what theyre talking about and seem to really care about the happiness of their customers. Overall not too bad people seemed to be nice. However it shouldnt have cost as much as it did. When I called to set up appointment I told them on phone that my problem was car not putting out hot air and therefore was probably just the thermostat, but power core was possibility. They then charged me $119 diagnostic fee even though I know the diagnostic was so simple. All they would have done was put their hands on either side of thermostat and see if hot air was coming through or not. At most should take 2 minutes to diagnose that. NOT WORTH $119. They charged a total of roughly $60ish in parts which was understandable for the most part. But the also charged roughly $220 in labor. I know that it doesnt take long to replace thermostats because I have replaced them myself before and I have been told by 3 other mechanics that it shouldnt have cost that much. If it takes you very long to replace the thermostat on my 1992 jaguar xj6 then you didnt know exactly what to do. The thermostat is literally at front of car and with the right parts should have taken at most probably 30 to 45 minutes.SO overall not very likely to return due to the fact of it being overpriced. Sure they got the job done. But still Plus they charged me for coolant even though I had 1 and half things of coolant in my trunk that I had purchased. In total about $410 for the thermostat to be replaced....

I bought my 2002 BMW 325xi from these guys a couple of years ago. I was real disappointed when I brought it into the local dealer, not European, later in the year for a broken cv joint in the front left axle. Had to get towed for the first time. While they had it in their shop they listed many other things that they recommended getting repaired, a total bill of over $5000 parts and labor. I had the both front axles replaced and that was it for the time. I was in disbelief that all the other things needed replacing, but as I began working through the list, yes they needed fixing. I had a water pump go out while driving to work, had to get towed a second time. I took the car in recently to European motors for a front differential locked up, towed for 3rd time. They quoted me a price on a used differential, plus labor. I had them do the work, but in the process of moving my car they dropped it on the jack and bent the front quarter panel. They wanted to take a little off the bill to compensate for the damage, $200 I think. I told them to fix it and I would pay the quoted bill. After the repair was done, I drove the car and the front end kept making creaking noises when I turned or was braking. I took it back to have them look it over. They said that a couple of bolts on the suspension was loose. At first they denied they had loosened the bolts, a little later they admitted they had loosened them to do the work on differential replacement. Then they said they couldnt torque the bolts down enough to make the creaking sounds go away completely, but I could take it as is with the bolts mostly tight. They still were going to charge me $100 for the diagnostics at this point, but if I wanted it fixed right they would charge me $130 and wave the diagnostics, I had them put new bolts in, in the hope it would not creak again and be safe. I have a feeling that if they had tightened the bolts in the first place, I wouldnt of had to them replace. I would not recommend having any work done from these guys, there work ethics are in question, and they charge to much per hour for quality of work being done.

AWFUL service. Took our Audi in because the passenger door wouldnt open from the inside--but it did open from the outside. They fixed it (not cheap) and when we tried the door a few hours later, would not open from inside OR outside. Called them, got the runaround, then we were told they could fix it again, but itd be another $400.00!! We said yes, because being Audi owners, our hands were tied (as they know as well! Quite the monopoly). They said theyd order the part and call when it arrived. We checked numerous times over then next four weeks, still no part. FINALLY when WE called THEM last week, they said it had arrived, and we made an appt for Tuesday. We dropped it off at 7:30, and at 4:15, we were informed the part DID NOT arrive!! Now they say it will be here Thursday and to take the car on on Friday..... But we will be out of town. ....... Round and round again. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

I was very pleased with my experiance. The car I purchased was aggressively priced below market value so there was no need to haggle over price. The gentleman that helped me was very professional and worked quickly. He provided a car fax report without me asking, and made sure the car was detailed one more time before I left, again, without me asking. This place is extremely unorganized. The owners are rude and place the blame on anyone other than themselves. The cars they try to sell have major defects that the staff and owners try to hide. The cars are purchased cheaply with no major maintenance done to make the car sell-able. AVOID EUROPEAN MOTORS AT ALL COSTS!!!!! They charge you a fortune for cheap products and service!

I have been looking for a hard to find BMW X3 manual transmission for a long time. Last week one popped up on Auto Trader. Unfortunately, the car was in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Im in Florida. I got on the phone and spoke with Kyle who assured me the car was in pristine condition, appeared to have been owned by someone who specially ordered the car and they had gone over it with a fine tooth comb. I put down $500 to hold the car, made a pre-purchase inspection appointment with a BMW service shop in town, and bought a round trip plane ticket to Cedar Rapids. Kyle offered to ship the car for $600, but I wanted to have the car checked out first.A European Motors employee picked me up from the airport. The car was beautiful, Kyle and I took a test drive, then I brought it to the BMW shop. The service shop found nothing wrong with the car except worn tires. I tested the sunroof in a car wash, took it back on the highway, and put the car through its paces. The car appeared to be as advertised. They helped me hook up my phone to the Bluetooth and I drove 1100 miles back to Florida. Kyle was no pressure throughout the entire process. I cant say I got a screaming good deal on the price but Ive been looking long enough for that car to know its a sellers market and if nothing major goes wrong, Id be satisfied with the price paid. I will add to this review if I discover any problems. European motors is a place Id go to again.

This was the most terrible car buying experience Ive ever had. They were incompetent, rude and untruthful about the true condition and value of the car we were interested in. The car sat on the lot for 90 days until we made an offer. My bank would not even finance for what they said the car was worth. Pete continued to say the car was in exceptional condition when in fact it had a ripped seat, faulty power port, key fob that didnt work and a dent in the BMW decal on the hood. This is a 2009 BMW 650i with only 56k miles and it was not in exceptional condition like they claimed. When we made arrangements to pick up the car it was also very dirty. Pete and Suzy are not professionals and seem to only want to scam people with their false statements about the true condition of the vehicles they are selling. They are not even certified by the Better Business Bureau. BUYER BEWARE!!

Nice people, but very unorganized and not a good experience. Unfortunately, I will not be back to have my car serviced. I was due to get front and rear brakes replaced, and I was quoted $876 on the phone and was told that I needed to come in to have my brakes measured because there were two options. I go to European to have my brakes measured and I am told that there was only one option and my brakes didnt need measured. The day of my appointment my bill is over $400 more than what I was quoted and they had no record of the quote.

The service department was terrible. I made my appointment for oil change and another minor service more than one week ago for and showed up at the right time. I was told that it would take about 90 min. I told them I would be back there in two hours to pick up the car. When I returned the work has not started yet. The service manage made up some half-ass excuses and asked me to leave the car there for the rest of the day. Unbelievable! Will probably not go back there again. I have had good experience with them before.

We live in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, found the car we had been looking for online at this dealership and basically completed the sale over the phone. Its a big deal when you can find a car place that you trust. This is that place. Ive purchased several cars from European during the last few years including a Mercedes SL600, a Mercedes SL500, a Mercedes E320, and we bought a fun little Mini Cooper for our son. I have purchased my last 3 cars from European Motors, and am currently working on a 4th. I dont think Ill ever go anywhere else because the way they do business is so easy and transparent. No hustles or frustrating sales nonsense, which is whats most important to me.On one car, we had the deal all settled (they bought it at an auction specifically for me), and when it arrived at their location the tires were apparently beneath their standards. I got a call before Id ever even seen the car and my salesperson said, We need an extra day to prep your car because Im not selling it with these tires on it. She put 4 brand new tires on it with no change in the price we had agreed upon. After that experience, Im a life long customer.

These people are truly wonderful and amazing from the owners Pete and Suzie to DJ head of shop. They blow every conception of a used car lot out of the water. Our son a veteran bought a used volkswagon Passet from them this spring. Soon after getting it home it began to shift hard but very infrequently. When he called Suzie she immediately said bring it in and we will look at it. Due to the hours he works my husband and I took it back Cedar Rapids where it stayed for a week. Shortly after getting home it started to have the same problem again. This time when we called Pete said he would not have us do the drive again. Pete arranged for a car transportation company to pick the car up where we live. They kept it two weeks and replaced many parts and even some sort of computer chip on the car. Then they wonderfully sent it back home on another transport. We had NO warranty on this car and it had a 134,500 miles on it when our son bought it. Can you believe these people stood behind this car and paid for the repairs and transport! I want to state this was a very hard problem to diagnose as it would drive ok for a while and then act up. Pete had to drive it several days the last time we returned it to get it to misbehave. I never believed anyone would stand behind a used car the way this company did. DJ was wonderful to deal with and kept us very well informed when the car was in the shop and had to put with me worrying way too much. Our family simply cant thank you all enough. Sue Wimp

You guys hit the highway for a test drive along talking about work, the family, your plans..oh, and how cool the car is that youre cruising in. Well thats EXACTLY what happened when my husband and I met ANG! She was nothing short of amazing. And loyal! Due to our late arrival we had to wait to hear back from the bank the following day and do you know she turned away a couple requests for test drives on our NEW CAR while waiting on our decision as we finished out our work days? And we hadnt given Ang a dime at that point nor any signature on paper! Talk about unheard of! ANG is not selling cars, shes building relationships. The vehicle just fits in somewhere along the way. My husband is the proud driver of the this toy however im considering driving European myself just to give ANG our business again. The principle of Customer service is alive and well at European Motors, through what I experienced with DJ and their Service Department. The rims on my Mercedes had corroded, cracked and began to cause some tire problems. They put the rims on and found and ordered new tires that would fit the rims and when the tires did not come in on time, they provided me with loaner car to get around town. That to me is what I call a service to a customer that you just dont see anymore.Thank you!
