I was given Alejandro’s name from a friend of mine. Another mechanic told me that I had a major transmission problem. And while Alejandro could have charged me for expensive transmission work he explained that a cable was installed incorrectly. During these challenging times it is comforting to deal with a business owner that is honest, trustworthy, and has integrity. I was prepared to spend a lot of money to fix my transmission And I would have been none the wiser if he charged me for work that was not needed. I highly recommend AAMCO in Cathedral City. Was informed that my issue was damaged rims, from hitting curbs. I got a second opinion, and found that the lug nuts on my front drivers side wheel, were not tightened down. How did their techs miss this!?

My Nissan Rogue decided to die on a recent trip to the desert. Being from Los Angeles I had no idea where to go and I thought of Aamco. Brought my vehicle in and Alejandro was fantastic. He explained all procedures that they were needing to do. He also was able to help me out by pushing my car out faster than he expected. Great service and my car is running fantastic.

I would never recommend using AMMCO for work on VW EuroVan. They are completely incompetent and showed very little professionalism towards us. We gave them a working vehicle and they could not give us back a working vehicle after having it for over two months. I had to pry updates out of them by calling all the time as they never called me directly to give me updates. They would not even help pay for the tow we needed to a specialty shop and the tow cost over $400. We finally parted ways after spending $5500 of which we got a full refund back.

Alejandro and Ben are very honest and professional. Alejandro give me an great quote. Ben performed the service and later explained what he did. My car was given back at the time Alejandro said. I would recommend this business to anyone.

Aamco Cathedral City found an error code inside my transmission that the Nissan dealership missed. The dealership charged me $145 for absolutely no information. Aamco told me about the error code, and provided me with options that the dealership either would or could not tell me about. Dealerships only replace transmissions with brand new ones. Aamco can fix the transmission that is in my car, which I feel is much better than installing a rebuilt transmission from a different car, and certainly is cheaper than replacing with a new transmission at dealership.

These guys are a class act!! My classic 91 Firebird had been stumbling and stalling from stop signs and red lights for like 4 yrs, had erratic rpms, and smelled strongly of gas . I went in Aamco Cat City already having attitude and on the defensive out of frustration with spending more than i paid for the car 7 years ago at other local shops that fixed everything but what I went to them for, not listening to me, and basically just throwing parts at the car hoping it worked, only to tell me I needed a mechanic that specialized in my late model car. I left my car with Alejandro for his guys to do a preliminary check and when he then said it needed 7 hrs of diagnostics just to find out what was going on I had even more attitude and said what was that? the pre-diagnostics?. He told me that they wanted to spend the time on it to do it right. At this point I was willing to do anything for my car to stop stalling and risking me getting in an accident, pulled over, or spontaneously combusting!! Something told me to trust him and I am so glad I did! I was prepared for bad news that I needed hundreds of dollars in repairs but Alejandro prioritized my cars issues but only fixed what I brought it there for. He didnt even charge me any more for the actual work done since it was related to a diagnostic I was already paying for, just 2 parts. My car has never run so well and I will be bringing it back to Aamco for all my future car maintenance and repairs! Best of all, no more embarrassment and people behind me beeping when my car dies in the middle of intersections!! Thank you Alejandro. It feels like I got a new car. You and your bomb mechanics are the best!

I went to Aamco for a transmission repair years ago and they did an amazing job so I went back for ac issues. My ac was squeaking when turned after I replaced the serpentine belt. Before that, my ac was over heating and I had taken it to Firestone several times only to fork put over 1k in repairs that still did not fix the problem. They even charged just to look at it. Aamco does not unless they need to get into the engine and take things apart. Ben was awesome and figured out my problem easily and my ac works perfectly. It did not take long. Alejandro, the manager, has only been there for a month and is already a pro. Super helpful and a chill guy. Anyone in need of engine repairs should come here. Best service and highly knowledgeable staff.

Yeah they refuse to replace transmissions they only rebuild them so be prepared to hear your results as being we can initiate a breakdown of your transmission in order to rebuild it but no guarantee that they can actually fix it

My transmission on my 2017 Toyota Yaris ia on October 5th 2020. The warranty that I have had me tow it to some shop ( Not saying which one) in Bermuda dunes to get it fixed. The shop in Bermuda Dunes had my car for 2 weeks and at the end of the 2 weeks they told me that they did not know what was wrong with the transmission and they suggested that I take it to a transmission shop to get it fixed. So I had my car towed to AAMCO on Ramon road in Cathedral city California. During the time my car was at AAMCO, Alejandro ( the manager) went above and beyond and called my warranty to let them know that I needed a new transmission. The warranty covered the new transmission and labor and AAMCO did a fantastic job on installing the new transmission. If it wasnt for Alejandro calling my car warranty to put a claim so my warranty to cover my transmission, I would not have had my car fixed. I was very impressed with how this site is run. Angel and Ben were very helpful, courteous, honest, informational and quick. For this being only a three man shop my car was ready the following day! I am very pleased with how my car runs. I definitely recommend this AAMCO location.

I needed to get back to Los Angeles the same day and found this place around 2pm. I had a transmission issue that had been surfacing now and then. Maybe the hot weather set it off and now it just wasnt resetting like it normally does, a sensor issue maybe, plus it was making new and unfamiliar sounds. After calling around at a few other places that couldnt/wouldnt service the car, my boyfriend and I found AAMCO in Cathedral City. Mike, the manager, was very helpful. Got us in right away. Kept in touch throughout the afternoon. Called us with details and prognosis. Mike and his team did a thorough job, test drove the car miles and miles; were honest, friendly and caring; and timely. Thanks to a running promotion the service was entirely free. They got me back on the road by 5pm and I made it to LA without a hitch. I highly recommend this shop. I highly recommend this place. They are busy but get their work done quickly and are great at communicating. Angel is on top of things around there. Its not easy finding mechanics you can trust.

Then they were very gracious and courteous about my ignorance. I am making it right! You should never run down somebodys business unless you KNOW! Forget it. They shipped our car to Redlands, had it for nearly three weeks - car rental is costing us more than we can afford - and it was supposed to be ready this morning, but uh uh. The computer guy, FROM Redlands, has to come and reprogram the computer. We have the rental car for another day. They need to padlock this place.

This place deserves more than 5 stars honestly and a huge reason for that is because of the Manager Mike. The BEST customer service I have ever experienced and Mike genuinely cares so so dearly for all his customers! I have never met a man so dedicated to his job and making everyone happy! Mike and his team can make a negative situation turn into something so positive just by their willingness and determination to help their customers! Mike helped me and my boyfriend out when we were in the area and we both have no clue what we would have done without him! Expensive but they did a good job

They were a little pricey. I have never worked with a place that is as understanding and patient as AAMCO it took me a little while to come up with the all the cash I needed to get my truck back. They graciously gave me time needed with no Xtra charges and no storage fees THANK YOU AAMCO.I now take it all back. My transmission is going out I keep calling no answer. Leave messages no response and I have heard they do this often. How do I use my warranty if they ignore and avoid me. I paid them over $5000.00 that is dbl all other places and now this?!?!?

I purchased a Nissan Xterra from Desert Auto Dealer (listed some places as Desert Import Export) that turned out to have massive transmission issues (the check engine light came on almost literally a day or so after I purchased the car). Angel was really awesome during a really difficult time, not only did he provide great customer service, he did some research to save me money as well. I cant recommend these guys enough!

Angle (Manager) and staff were great in assisting me with my issue. Turns out my truck only needed more transmission oil, it was low, which was the cause of it slipping in first gear.They could have said I needed a major repair and I would not have been the wiser.Only charged me for the transmission oil needed.

AAMCO did it again for me! I am completely and fully trusting of AAMCO when it comes to transmission repairs.I had transmission problems when I was in Utah last summer, 2014; then recently here in my area, Cathedral City. Both times AAMCO came through! From here on out, I will go to AAMCO when it comes to transmission issues.The other auto-shops and dealerships answer was buy a new car or replace the transmission. AAMCO does what they do BEST! Work on transmission so you can squeeze out more mileage on your vehicle; whereas, the other auto-shops and dealerships want to go to the every extreme and have you pay more.Simply put, AAMCO is the EXPERT in Transmission! The others just know how to install rebuilt but do NOT know how to get down to the details of fixing the transmission.I am a 5 STAR advocate for AAMCO!!! I am so glad I found Aamco. The Manager Angel was great and super helpful. They stand behind their work too. I had a tiny problem after picking up the car but they took care of it in no time and obviously without charge. I am also glad to find they handle other repairs besides transmissions as well. I would definitely go back. I am also glad to know almost wherever I am traveling theres an Aamco close by if for some reason I need a repair on a road trip and they warranteed the work. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS AAMCO!They are nice over the phone and when you get a diagnostic. When they described to me the break down of what’s wrong the staff member Arnold came off awkwardly rude. My wife and I confronted him about his rudeness and his reply was “I know you guys won’t go through with our services”. I found that incredibly offensive the staff member would say that. If Arnold would have better customer service skills he could of earned AAMCO a great customer that was willing to pay in Cash and leave a 5 star review but instead you guys earned $0 and 1 star Review and Not Return Customer!Also “AAMCO” Don’t reply to my review. We were almost killed AFTER they told us it was fixed

We were stuck in town with a check engine light and a car that wouldnt get out of second gear, trying to get back to LA. The Chrysler dealership couldnt take us til the next day. This was my first experience at an AAMCO but these guys were great. In spite of being busy, and the fact that he could have charged us, Mike was incredibly helpful, gave us a free diagnosis (a promotion only some AAMCOs are running right now, apparently) -- cleared the codes, drove the car for 20 miles and determined that a recent battery replacement was at least partially responsible for the fault. They diagnosed some further possible transmission problems we might have later, but they got us back on the road the same day... and didnt charge a dime.These guys were solid, honest and professional. Id give ten stars if I could.

Although the guys were ultimately unable to help me because my car needed to be towed back to LA, I really appreciated the prompt and comprehensive assistance from Philip and the team. If I had the time to spend in the area, I wouldve happily proceeded with their services.

Mike and his colleagues were a god send on our recent road trip from SF to Palm Springs. My car was making a very disconcerting sound and it was getting worse by the day. We swung into aamco hoping someone there could give us some guidance yet cautious about shady mechanics. I knew shortly after meeting Mike and his staff that we had found the right place and they were nothing but honest and helpful. They were willing to fit us in last minutes, give us an honest assessment of the problem (brakes) and offer an affordable solution yet with zero pressure to use them to remedy the issue or charge for assessing the problem. What mattered most was the fact that we felt taken care of be someone who truly wanted the best for us. It was incredibly reassuring as two women out on the road to know that we could come and have our issues handled with complete trust and care. I can not recommend Mike and his team highly enough. Who would have thought having auto issues on a trip would have turned into such a positive experiance. Thanks so much guys!!!

Keep driving to the next Aamco. This one is expensive, seems to have a reputation for shoddy craftsmanship.The job took twice as long as promised and could have financed a new transmission rather than an overhaul. Under the gun, they sent me off with a improperly mounted shifter, leaving that detail until the last minute as Im about to drive away, putting the blame on the vehicle rather than their shoddy craftsmanship. Luckily, I was able to take it to an Aamco that actually does care who honor the warranty and fixed the problem in a half hour.

Brought my car here last week for a transmission rebuild they finished in 3 days. When picking up the car i was told my shift cable is bad and would probably break. Seeing as they already replaced my starter while doing the transmission i figured they would have gone ahead and fixed the shift cable as well. Not even a week later im back with my car shift cable broken, so i bring the car back and am told it will be done the next day. 2 days of ordering and installing the wrong parts. I finally got my car back after an all week ordeal and continuously lied to about when it would be done and why it wasnt dont. A 4 hour at most job took 4 and a half days. Do not bring your car here. Lazy and slow. Everyday was the same phone call itll be done tomorrow with it never being done the next day.

I had a long, drawn out and ridiculous experience with this AAMCO. I was in contact with the AAMCO CEO, Head of Customer Relations and everyone of relevance below them. Their service writer Kevin, continuously lied to all of us and mislead me on work progress and completion dates to the effect that It cost me over $600 of UNNECESSARY expenses an UNNECESSARY 2000 mile round trip along with several UNNECESSARY days away from work to resolve! Through this ordeal I discovered and would like to share that when it comes to quality control in customer service, Corporate has no teeth. If you have a problem with a local AAMCO and the Franchise Owner refuses to do anything about it, there is nothing real or tangible that the AAMCO name can do beyond kind comforting words.

My wife and granddaughter had car trouble in Palm Springs today, and were panicky as to what to do, so they called me at home in Calimesa and I called the Cathedral City office and talked to David, who told me they would check out the car, and help them. I had transmission rebuilted at AAMCO it costs me $3,050. The guarantee was one year. The transmission light came up after three weeks. I bought my truck back to AAMCO several times the problems never solve. RPM running at 5000 on the road. This is the worst experienced I ever had from transmission.

Last month after having my Volvo checked by the dealership and my regular mechanic, I decided to get another price from AAMCO for rebuilding the transmission. I was told that the problem wasnt the transmission, but instead a throttle control repair that would only cost $550.00. The service representative assured me that he knew Volvos and that the problem wasnt the transmission. I okayed the repair, but was told after completed that the cost would be $800.00 instead, and that the transmission was an additional $4000.00 problem. I didnt have AAMCO do any more work on the car, but took it back to my mechanic. When I told him what happened, he said that he has excellent troubleshooting equipment, and nothing was wrong with the trottle control. Both my regular repairman and Volvo dealership had told me that the problem was the transmission. Please be very careful dealing with AAMCO! I got taken for $800.00!

I was lie to in a lot of different ways by the manager David!! He put fear in me by saying my car wasnt gonna make it anywhere from 5 to 100 miles more to where I was scare thinking my car was gonna give up on me in between me relocating from one city to another so I gave them my car .. Prior to this I have already gone to pepboys and they had already scanned it and the only thing my car needed was code P0105 and so knowing that and telling David that the only thing my car needed was that ! He was already advice to look Into that code but no after paying him $1,250 up front after the weekend went by he called me to tell me they will need another $3,500 more that my car had a lot more damaged that they will need Another $3,500 more to fix it.. When I told him that it was too much he called me a second time to lower the price to $2,300 and then after I said no to put my car back together and that I was gonna consider my money robbed from them he got all defensive and loud on the phone then he called me a third time to lower the price to 1,000 I still said no put my car back the way it was, they took their sweet behind time to put it back together ohhhh and part of the verbal agreement was that that money I paid up front was gonna go toward the repairs and they didnt repair it so where did my money go?? He got so defensive again to the point he wanted to hang up on me .. My advice to anyone is just because Aamco is a name brand dont go to the cathedral city location they will rob your money or at least freak you Be very Careful.. AJ...
