Im obsessed with this book store. Its incredibly cozy and the staff are some of my favorite people!! They will spend hours helping you find the right book and they will go out of their way to get you it if they dont have it. You can also support them afar through Libro.fm audio books. This local book store has all of my love!

Great little book store. Nothing major plenty of classics, plenty of kids books. They serve some dirt of drinks as well or at least they did at one time. On my last visit they were not serving coffee if anything else. The folks working here are very friendly and willing to order anything you might need. This is a great place to stop while in down town Casper.

LOVE this books store! Im a poetry geek, so their sizable poetry section has been a gift to me in this small town. Contemporary and classics. Ive found some of my long time favorite poets on their shelves and discovered new ones, too.

This is what a book store is supposed to be! Coming in off the street you realize you are in a place full of people who love books - and who want you to love them too. I am not sure how a store this size has all the books I happen to be looking for - same as those giant (by comparison) B&N stores I go to. My interests, on the days I visited, were local geology and history. Cozy, welcoming, full of riches and an overall winner.

There are many helpful employees that make sure you get the book you are looking for. The company also sponsors book signings and read alouds to get the authors more exposure, while exposing those who visit to more talent. If given the option, I would stay there to enjoy the whole ambience.

Even though I paid for a book and repeatedly emailed them and asked them to send it to me, they did not send it to me. And then I go to look to order a new book and they have my book for sale. But they won’t send it to me even though I already paid for it. Never buy a book from these people you will probably never get it.

This is literally one of the best book stores I have ever been to, which is crazy considering that I have been to book stores all over the world! If you are passing through Casper this is one of the best gems you will find in Wyoming, you can even grab a latte with a new book!

Staff is so knowledgeable and helpful. Always have the latest New York Times best-sellers. I know that everyone who works there is constantly reading the latest and greatest, so they can help recommend for any genre. Reminds me of Meg Ryans Shop Around The Corner in Youve Got Mail. Spend your money locally, shop at Windy City Books!

I have patronized Windy City Books since they opened. My genre is non-fiction: science, history, biographies, travelogs, etc. As with all GOOD bookstores....you come with something in mind and leave with 5 other tangents. Good selection, knowleageable staff that know how to find, order and have what it is that you only vaguely know yourself. That is the joy of books in a nutshell. Soooo many rabbit holes to explore! Easily the best independent book store Ive ever been to. The staff is approachable, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable; from which translation of a classic they enjoyed best, to how much a child might enjoy and learn from a new series. They are always polite and enjoy engaging with their customers interests. Their selection is expansive for the cozy little store that feels like home. What they may not have on hand, the staff is more than happy to look it up and order anything specific you might be looking for. From self help to foreign literature, nature guides all the way out to philosophy; Wind City Books is the place for anything you might want on the page.

A nice local bookstore with a wide variety of new and classic books. I went to them for Wyoming symphony tickets since they are a local outlet. Great service and a pleasant hometown vibe that you cant get at the big store. I love to buy local and if they dont have it they will get it for you.

Wow. When we dropped into Wind City Books it was simply because we parked our car in front and like book stores. We didnt expect to find funny, knowledgeable staff who were able to suggest great new authors in our favorite genres along with a great selection. We live in Madison, WI not Casper WY. I wish we had a local book store with staff of that caliber here.

My wife and I car-travel throughout the West, and Ive been to some outstanding bookshops. Wind City Books is one of them. We passed through Casper last October, I saw this bookstore, and so I stopped to take an inventory and browse. It didnt have the largest selection of books Id seen; but it managed to have a compelling array of the kinds of books I read, including volumes I hadnt seen in any other brick-and-mortar stores. And clearly this store is all about books. I dont mean selling books, I mean books. I couldve gleaned this outlook and attitude from my five minutes with a staff member. Ive only seen this approach and felt its vibe to this degree at four of the hundreds of bookshops Ive visited—City Lights in San Francisco, Book Passage in Corte Madera, Keplers Books in Menlo Park, and Chaucers Books in Santa Barbara, all in California. The two book klatches just inside Wind City Bookss front door that day—one table of men and another of women, both discussing books—were unique in my travels. The whole experience left an indelible impression on me. Thank you Wind City Books. You care about books and readers and writers.

Awesome book store

Lots of neat historical books. I like comic novels and they have some really good ones like Hilo and Knights of the Lunchtable. If they dont have what you want they can order it and it comes in the next Thursday.

Always a pleasure at the best bookstore in Wyoming

Back in 2009 or so, I travelled with crews weekly to Casper to pull a construction project out of the toilet for a local General Contractor. Took 5 months of scrambling to complete the job on time. Managing (babysitting) tradesmen far from home was, shall I say, an unwelcome adventure. This terrific little bookstore served as welcome respite for coffee and browsing along about midmorning from time to time. It was always a rich, stimulating experience and among purchases I made over time include several excellent books and photo essays on Wyoming history, geology, etc. Also, I snagged a very reasonably priced complete set of Patrick OBrians naval adventures set at the pinnacle of the age of sailing ships vying for empire at sea. (Re: I recommend viewing a respectful cinematic version of OBrians Captain and Commander starring Russell Crowe by way of introduction to these historic novels)
