I visited ECG for the first time yesterday and I had a good experience. My family and I love board games so we decided to give it a go and we had fun. I have mixed emotions on this place being family friendly that have young children as they do serve alcohol but it is what it is. My son (8 years old) and I also play Pokemon and we were hoping to find some sealed Pokemon products here. They are definitely geared more toward MTG players as they have lots of sealed MTG products but very minimal Pokemon stuff. They have some deck boxes and Dragon Shield sleeves on the shelf also. They have a great selection of board games though. Good amount of seating and friendly staff. I would definitely go back again. Masks were NOT enforced when we visited which was a huge plus in my book.
Now know as gamers geekery. Very cool hang out.
I enjoy the food and the gaming atmosphere and the drink selection.
If you are looking for a place to stock up on supplies its not the best location, but there is plenty of seating and tables for actually playing games. At the time I visited masks were still required if that is a problem for you.
Very clean and friendly staff. Pretty good selection of high end singles. The store is usually pretty warm but that cant be helped. Have a good time every time I go.Edit: they moved to a new location. We went this past weekend and the new store is awesome. It was almost cold in there! Excellent! Would highly recommend.
This place is awesome! The staff who served me were super friendly, the drink and food items were interesting and varied, and the venue is huge! They had games for rent and sale, and private rooms to rent. I cant wait to come back here with friends.
This is the quintessential local game shop. They have an amazing collection of board games and I always get my MTG from them. They are a store worth supporting and a great asset to the community.
This place is great. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Kristen set us up with some beginner games, taught us how to play, and let us go on our own. It was awesome. Definitely coming back.
I was looking for a birthday gift for a friends son and was referred to this place. George was very helpful in picking out some items for a new Magic Card player. He also picked out a good handful of cards so help him build a good deck. He was very patient with me and answered all of my questions. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to buy card supplies or even play in tournaments. Thanks George!
We have a DnD group that meets on Fridays. When looking for a place that was conveniently located for all our work that also had food and drinks, ECG was the best choice in the area. The food is consistently good and quick, and there is always a good variety of beers and meads. The space is clean and the staff is friendly and attentive. Would recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing place to play some games or try out something new
Board game selection is terrible. Very small. Prices are way too high to stay competitive. Blood rage is $80. Its $65 on Amazon. I think that game was $80 when it was first released and its probably 3-4 years old now. They do have a decent amount of demo games to play, which is nice. I went on an open board game night and there were 3 groups in the building. I honestly dont know how this play stays open with their pricing. My guess is magic card sales.
This place is amazing! To me 3 hours seems like just a few minutes here. And it was amazing. Such a warm welcome from the players and staff. It is so easy to have a good time here.
Great collection of tabletop games. The Saturday night meetup is fun, if you can get a group together, and the fact that food and drink are allowed is awesome! East Coast Gaming has introduced us to at least two games that we love playing with our neighbors.
Group of us go at least once a week. Great people who work there and they have a great selection for snacks and drinks. Also we have found some really awesome new game by looking through the library of games they have for people to try. Highly recommend and favorite gaming place to go to in RDU area
I went in look ing for Magic cards for my nephews birthday not realizing how little I knew.. but the guy was super helpful, even explained certain aspects so I could understand why I needed so much information before just buying cards. I was able to talk to my other nephew and get the style, color and specifics to pick out some great cards to go with my nephews deck. He didnt make me feel silly for not knowing nor did he try to take advantage of me by selling me crappy cards or jacking up the price. Very honest place and had a great selection.
Started out going to the old location, it was a great little store and very close to me. New location is roughly 15 minutes away, but I will happily drive past any other game store to get to ECG. They are friendly, knowledgable, and keep singles well-stocked at fair prices. I would recommend this store to beginners, and even more so to veterans who need specific cards as many other game stores do not carry singles.
Great atmosphere and staff. Large supply of board games and magic singles. Occasionally they host d&d events that are as lot of fun. Best game store around.
New location is absolutely amazing! Fantastic restaurant quality food, great drinks, and the perfect rustic aesthetic for table top gaming.
This is by far the best shop I’ve been to in North Carolina! They are the absolute best when it comes to customer service! Also a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Ikeda
Neat game store. Mostly magic the gathering players on site when we visited. The lighting was so dim by the board game display, that I had to use my phones flashlight to see the titles. I had to find an employee and ask to cash out after waiting by the register for a few minutes. However, they have a nice selection of games and everyone playing seemed to be enjoying themselves 👍
Our family went for board game time. We had a great time. There is a great variety of games for all ages. Nice atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. One of our new favorite places.
I come here for the smash tournaments whenever I get a chance. Owners are extremely nice and the community is great. highly recommend going
Good food, great beer, and a great atmosphere. Cant wait till I can play smash between rounds of magic!
Staff is friendly and store seems like it has a good environment. The owner has been anything but welcoming, and only curt/rude the few times I have been there. Compared to especially Game Theory and Gamers Armory, there isnt much unique to make this my home store.
Went there last night and was really planning on buying anything just out and about looking around Chris there greated me kindly and asked if there was anything he could help me with I have been looking to build a all black commander deck called sworn to darkness that came out in 2014 Chris actually took the time and went in the back and found all the cards I needed and he even made sure they all had the correct set symbol on the card so everything matched. I was extremely impressed he actually took the time to do that for me most stores would of just gave me the cards with random set symbols needless to say me and my fiance were very happy with how we were treated by him and really enjoyed our conversation afterwards and his knowledge on cards as were new players. I will definitely be back to do business with this store
Have been in a handful of times throughout their time being in this location. The restaurant next door was how I found the store itself. The food at Kabukis was medium (at best), but the experience at ECG was exceptional. They have a very OPEN floor plan (ideal for large events, they do Magic Gathering and Video game tournaments). Customer service is the typical Retail experience - they hear us make terrible jokes about, Oh NO price Must mean its free!!!, real knee slappers. They do accommodate new people - whether its the board games, the card games, and general questions about anything there. An odd thing is the old arcades - which to me are cute, but not really *cool* anymore. Still nifty to see them. Some cool things to point out:1.) At the entrance immediately to your LEFT they have a whiteboard calendar of all Pokeman/Magic/other stuff events written up.2.) They have business cards RIGHT AT THE FRONT by the register, and every time Ive been in someone says here, take one, thank you!3.) Their restrooms are ... wait for it ... CLEAN.4.) They also just have a nice atmosphere.5.) The A/C is a tad bit miserable as I overheard some customers say, but Im certain its a unit thats as old as I am and the property owner is ***SLOW*** to get that fixed.6.) I definitely recommend this place as one youd go to if youre in town. Plenty of other Gaming Stores & they are all awesome, but I really liked East Coast Gaming.
Beers on tap. Very nice, clean place. Staff are great;)
A nice new board game bar with a wide selection, tons of beer options, and weekly specials
Great kind staff who know your name. They will work with you to order any game. They help you plan your magic strategy, and sell you singles and host great events.
Played D&D there really comfortable and welcoming place, they sell snacks and MTG cards, Pokemon cards and some other board games/card games, good for any card or board game orthings of that sort :D
Helpful service and has a good group of people who play Magic here.
Not welcoming at all for new timers. They put me in the wrong league and made me feel like I didnt belong and wasting the gamers time. Instead of fixing the mistake and put me in the right league, they refused and no refund. I never complained nor write reviews but the customer service was terrible. No one helped me when I wanted to buy cards, I kept looking around but no one seemed to care. Please dont type on your website saying that you are welcoming because your staff isnt. I will suggest to all gamer friends for your first time, dont go here.
Great selection of interesting games and many types of fun events at the store...Magic, Pokemon, Board game events, Dungeons & Dragons. Love it!
Great gaming store for table top and Magic the Gathering. I personally like it more than East Coast, but thats because I have more experience with Gamers Armory.
Really great LGS to play at plenty of room and prices are pretty good. All the employees here are laid back and really nice. Would suggest this place to anyone into TCGs and the like.
Great local gaming spot with events most evenings and weekends. A large selection of games and accessories as well as a good sized play area
Pretty nice place. Good prices on board games and they take cards for a decent price.
Very friendly and informed staff. They want you to have fun and learn how to play.
East Cost Gaming is a great place to play Magic: The Gathering and board games. The staff is friendly and the people that play here are nice.
I love this place I go several times a week great people and a great selection of cards
Fantastic and ever rotating selection of new, old, and eclectic games. Also a great place to get together with friends for gaming tournaments.
Friendly staff and a great place to sling spells! Theyre also very active on Facebook messenger if you ever have any questions. Magic card prices follow TCG mid. They also have an active smash bros community if youre into that.
Very friendly place. the owners are always helping. and they travel to nearby GPs so you will not feel alone in big tournaments!
Great atmosphere and super friendly staff
Great staff. Laid back environment.
Great game store, had a blast at the magic prerelease yesterday!
Lots of room to play. Friendly staff. Well organized. Will be back for FNM
They dont perform adequate deck checks at events and then disqualify children because of their errors. Not family friendly and too warm inside. Their events are disorganized, theyre rude, and not kind or friendly toward newcomers learning. Not enough information is presented on their website regarding events and rules. Im glad this isnt our home store because we definitely wouldnt have continued playing tcgs after this experience.
The location isnt the best, but the employees make up for that. Large tournament area! I cant wait to go back for an Event.
They have a Gauntlet Legends arcade cabinet, and a lot of space available for events. Pretty fun overall!
Great prices, friendly staff, growing selection of game stuff, great selection of MTG cards, and huge gaming space. Cant ask for much else
My cloud is awesome and makes the place sick!
Very welcoming staff, good atmosphere. All around amazing experience.
Super friendly and great deals on magic cards.
East Coast Gaming is a great gsming store with Magic the Gathering and many board games of all types.
Charged regular price for cards regardless of condition. Game theory is pretty good for better condition cards
Love playing at the store, cost is low on MTG cards, board game nights are fun and the staff is pretty awesome.
Weekly smash bros tournaments held here Mondays around 7. Great place.
Friendly knowledgable staff and a great welcoming environment.
Store has cool stuff. Prices are all over the place, though.
Store staff is fantastic, pricing on items is reasonable.
Great staff, expansive selection of new and old, hard to find cards, well run tournaments, and good players.
This place is an awesome place for any type of gamer
So much fun to have on the days
Great place to go for cards
Step above typical lfgs.
Nothing stood out about this game store.
Super cool place
