I LOVE this store! I have found the most wonderful things for my granddaughters here! Incredible deals and the staff is wonderful, helpful and very friendly. The clothes are in great shape and I can always find something. Definitley recommend!
Once Upon a Child is like a wonderland of great deals on lightly used clothing, shoes, toys, and other child-related accessories. Whether youre new parents looking to stock up a closet full of baby clothes, or need some back to school clothes for your older kids, Once Upon a Child is the place for you. We regularly come here when they have deals, such as their July 4th clearance sale or their onesie sale. Check their feed for these events!
For buying, maybe a good place to check out for less expensive options, for selling go take your business to the children’s orchard instead. I drove nearly an hour to get to once upon a child in Cary from my home with my one year old and got there 2 hours before closing, and they told me they weren’t accepting items at the moment and that I’d have to leave them there until the morning to get quoted for them. I had one bin of items and 2 hours before closing!!! Right after that I saw someone go in and they were looking at their items and on the computer to quote them a price. I drove all the way back the next day and they wanted to give me $10 for a current in stores boppy still in the packaging with no wear, adidas shoes still in the box also never worn and a stack of clothes. I sold the clothes and the shoes to them which I regret (got $6) and then took the bigger items including a baby carrier they didn’t take and got $66 from the children’s orchard which was a fair price. They took my boppy for $8 alone.
The staff is always so very friendly and attentive whenever my wife and I shop the store.
Needed to sell some items. They said it would take about 15 minutes. Went back inside. Got paid for what they wanted and was done in about 25 minutes all together.
I dont EVER leave 1 star reviews but I felt it warranted. The people that work here act like youre doing them a favor by shopping at their establishment. I waited 30 minutes for them to go through my clothes and give me $10 for like 3 things out of 2 baskets full of brand name, cute clothes many of which are in great condition. I had another box full of shoes they wouldnt even look at because of their current 2 basket policy. But whatever, I get it if you dont want to buy my clothes, I wont take it personally. Their general demeanor is so unfriendly I wont be coming back though I love Thrift stores and have 4 children to buy for. I came in about a month ago with my kids and they were very unfriendly then but I hoped it was an off day. Nope.. Save your money and spend where you are appreciated.
Lots of stuff in the store. Sold a lot of clothes in great condition and only got less than $7 back. They had some jeans for $10 that you can get brand new for the same price (children’s place). If you need something for a certain day at school that your kid will probably only wear once this would probably be a good place to find it.Some of the staff could use a refresher course in customer service.
A children’s consignment shop in Cary had tons of clothes, toys and other baby & kid related items. It was small & packed to the ceiling, it was pretty neat and orderly. A lot of beautiful clothes from newborn to 2T, toys, baby gear, etc. My friend to get rid clothes that didn’t fit her baby anymore, a lot of nice name brand things. It took them about 25 mins to go through and access them. They apparently didn’t keep much because she only got $17 bucks! Disappointed because we drove from Durham, 30 mins for $17. The staff is wasn’t particularly nice or friendly but not rude, just okay customer service. No public restrooms but plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible
Decent store, but its closed down since July 2021
Their stuff is incredibly expensive. You can go to TJ Maxx or childrens place and get the same prices. Just saying.......
So many cute things and very reasonably priced too!!
PLEASE LIKE THIS POST!! its a great place for clothing since a kid out grows clothes so fast. I wish I had found out about this place sooner. But if u have a young kid that grows like a weed this is the place for you. Good selection and good prices. Pretty big selection
The store employee told me that most of my clothing had too much wear and tear to be accepted. I inspected all of my clothing before taking it and it was in great condition. I personally passed over buying many items due to holes and stains while browsing. They did not take more than 10 minutes to even go through my items. I took in a stroller and instead of figuring out how to use it, one of the employees loudly insulted my items while I was standing close by. They weren’t very friendly and didn’t make me feel welcome. I will not be taking any of my items there again.
Pretty disappointed. At other Once Upon A Child stores I usually find great quality stuff. This one had very old toys and badly stained clothes. The aisles are really cramped too.
It claims theyre open but this place is closed! Nothing or nobody in the store.
Lots of clothes, shoes, and toys. Conditions vary, but thats reflected in the price of the items. Definitely worth a visit as a lot of the items were the same as what I had seen on store racks the week before. Current styles, reasonable prices, friendly staff, big selection. Dont go looking for cribs, sheets, or car seats though. They dont carry them for liability reasons.
I wished that I had taken a look at these review before I enter this store. A few months back I entered this store. The idea of the store is beautiful. (A place that sells good things that people donate and you get money for the things that you donate - right. I was told soon as I got to front counter that I was suppose to have my things in a bin. Very rudely might I add. Then she told me I will have to wait 15 to 20 minutes while she goes through the one bag. When I got back, I was given $8.50 and more than half my bag back. I would rather given my clothes for free to a thrift store, a donation center, or a mother in need before I enter that rude place again. I felt uncomfortable, and very sad when I left. I never want to experience that again.
One of the staff there was very rude. She seems to be the person in charge because she looks like she treats the other nice employees rude as well. Im a friendly person but she seems to always give me attitude when i go. I decided that i will no longer be supporting this location.
Great selection and extremely affordable prices! I love the online shopping experience they now provide.
When I asked to use my 20% off coupon that clearly states once upon a child and is stamped the store refused to honor it. Instead I could set up with them and earn points. I do not live near this store and this will be my only visit. Also I’ve used the stamps at different individually owned once upon a child stores from SC, NC, VA, and PA. None of them refused to honor the stamps (add more to my cards) or take the filled coupon.
Absolutely love the finds at this place. My 2-year-old is growing like a weed and the clothes, shoes, and pjs are in good condition...some do not even look worn. Great deals!!!
I havent sold to this store but I have purchased. The store is very clean and organized. Exactly what you want when sorting through second hand clothing. Workers were friendly enough and returns are easy. Just make sure you keep your receipt.
It’s nice to shop here occasionally. Don’t ever bring items in to sell back. I bought a bouncer here in April 2018 and tried to bring it in to sell back in good condition, minus one toy missing from it and they would not accept it because they said it was over five years old! Pretty funny how I bought it a YEAR ago! The employee said “someone must have bought it back that wasn’t suppose to because the date on it is from 2007!” What. A. Joke. So I used an outdated and old bouncer for my child because one of your employees failed to do their job properly and accepted an old item back to the store.Clearly the young girls that work here need a little more training when it comes to what items to accept back to the store!I’ve also tried to bring baby clothes back, in perfect condition, nor would they accept any. Clothes that were literally only a few months old.I’ve shopped in here, and found some good items.I’ve also found clothes in here that have stains on them and look like they are so outdated, and they still try to sell them. Baby and toddler shoes in here that are dirty, ripped, stained, and they accept these items and again try to sell them.Y’all need to have a meeting to discuss what items and articles of clothing to accept and sell here because it is SO inconsistent!
Very pleasant experience with a pleasant staff!
Purchased clothes a few weeks ago online. Great prices, service, and curbside pick up! Always a great selection
If there was a no star rating I would have used that. My very pregnant daughter, her sister and I were rudely discriminated against inside this store today. The governors orders for face masks also has ACCEPTIONS, when I tried to state that we were rudely told we couldnt shop without one. Sad to me since I personally have been shopping here for many years.
Was forced to look around the store while they check my stuff. Not friendly staff at all. I brought them really nice dresses for girls, they wanted to pay me hardly $15 for a lot of nice clothes. Would not recommend selling at this location.
I Love how clean and neat it is Even for a small store it hold a lot of stuff and great toys and clothes and books I must say theres not so many things for baby gear stuff but they do have it wish there was more of it. Also the ladies are quick when you are selling your stuff it didnt take long at all for a big been of clothes and shoes I must say its a dumb about 10 minutes which was awesome I did go after 10:00 a.m..will be going back soon.
Good place to sell off lightly used kids clothes
Able to find lots of great clotging. Organized and clean
Very well put together however their rules are a little over the top for items youre selling them. I honestly prefer the location near i-540 and Capital Blvd.
Its was okay definitely had a decent amount of stuff. It was kinda just all over the place as far as the organization. Not a bad place to go just definitely could use some better organization.
I came in at 4:06 to bring some items and was told they couldn’t take them because they close at 5. Also they needed to be in a bin Totally fine I understand. The most unprofessional thing was the girl with the short blonde hair started talking to her coworkers about how “She said she would sign me up” like I didn’t hear her. If what I said bothered you then honey you shouldn’t work with the public! Very rude very unprofessional.
Nice selection. Ive gotten my childs Halloween costume here and I will definitely use them again for that purpose. I also bought his first shoes here and they were very reasonably priced for barely used nice brand shoes.
I wish there would be an option to rate 0 or -ve. The girls work over here are very RUDE. I took a box of clothes, many of them are barely used. All the clothes were washed, ironed and properly folded and packed. She didnt even look at them. She rejected saying the clothes have stains. I would pay them if they can show me a single stain on any of my cloth. They said they pay 30 - 50 % of the retail price, but they not even pay 10%. BEWARE!!!Going there was complete waste of time and effort. I would suggest to donate the stuff instead of selling them.
Update: Jan 2019When I was here yesterday the staff were not helpful at all. I asked to see a walker and got attitude. I had to make three trips to my car with a fussy 7mo in my arms trying to escapePrevious review:Well organized and easy to find what you’re looking for quickly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thy even carried the stroller I purchased out to my car!
Drove 45 minutes to get here because this store was organized and clean unlike the other location in Raleigh. Only to be met with hateful rude staff. Asked simple questions about new moms program and the customer appreciation cards to be talked to like an idiot. Employee MR could really use a lesson in how to talk to customers. Sincerely a previous employee from a separate location.
Great selection! Wish infant section was organized by size better. Very cramped but worth it. Great customer service! The young ladies are always pleasant.
A nice selection of kids clothes, toys, accessories, some books, baby equipment etc.Girls work hard here, always sorting through piles of stuff that people bring in.The store is neat and clean every time I come in.There is a cute little “drop off” area for the little ones while mommas shop or try something on.Overall, a very good store if you want something of good quality and great price.
Would have given it a 5, I have found a lot of things in there over the years for my child. However on the negative, the one staff member was extremely rude to my wife when she came in to look at selling some things in the store. If you dont have a customer satisfaction type mentality, dont go into retail.
Great place to shop and sell. Some days the buyback is better guess depends on what they need at the time.
I have been a loyal customer for six years. I love the selection of clothing and baby items. The prices can be good, especially on their sale days. I stock up then. However, I will have to agree with some of the reviews. The staff members are so moody, one day you go in (if the owner is there) and they are greeting you and smiling, other times (when shes not there) they mumble Welcome, like it hurt them to say it. At one point, after being a very loyal (bi-weekly shopper) customer for three years, the manager, who is still there, came up to me in front of everyone and pretty much accused me of stealing! I was mortified. I stopped shopping there for a year or so, made a complaint to the owner and all that. But, the prices and selection brought me back after having another child. (I didnt want her to win, I was over paying for new clothes since I had left.) As far as selling to them, my two experience were fine. I got a lot more money from them, than over at Kid to Kid in Cary. Oh yeah, they accept returns with money back!!! not a store credit.
The young ladies working in there were very fast, friendly, and overall very informative. I like this location much better than the Durham North Carolina location. The wait time was 20 minutes, allowing me to grab a bite to eat returning with my order being completed.I will do more business with this location in Cary.
I have been a loyal customer here for years and have always had a good experience with the employees/owner? there. The deals are awesome, which keeps me coming back. There are some real gems, such as a totally new Gymboree shirt for less than $2. They seem to offer more than Kid to Kid for things you want to sell too. The only thing that would make it a 5 star experience would be a little play area with a TV to entertain kids while customers shop, and make the racks less jam-packed so browsing will be easier. Overall, this is a great place to get real deals- thanks!!
I went into this place not expecting a lot. They have the things you would expect cloths, toys, strollers and other random children items. They have great prices and a surprising amount of stuff is new or maybe worn once. Kids grow so fast sometimes things just get pushed back in a draw and you never use it. The store is a little full. There is a lot of stuff and a lot of space used. It can get cramped if there are three or four people trying to shop. We took something’s there to sale. We called before and checked what they were taking at the time. (They take in cloths mostly seasonal) after we took a tote of baby clothes that we just didn’t get to use to them to look through they only took five things. It seemed like they had a surplus of items and just didn’t have room to take it the amount they were getting in everyday. The people that work there are friendly and hey we mostly go there for the prices anyway. I would tell anyone looking to buy something for their child to head there and it a safe bet they have it at a great price. But if your hoping to start a college fund off last years kids cloths... you better off starting a lemonade stand instead.
We have been coming for over 7 years, love this one to sell at vs the Raleigh location, and we live in Raleigh😊 THIS is also the ONLY store in the Wake County area (that I know of) who does %15 off EVERY Tuesday. The Raleigh store doesnt
The staff there is very helpful and friendly. The store is clean. I did find some kids books that I liked. However, I went through the store and not really that excited about buying things for my son there. Didnt seem that up to par as some try to make it seem. I agree like one of the other reviewers that it would be a place I would go to, if my son needed something like they wouldnt have to wear but once or so.
I will donate my items to charity before ever trying to sell here again. The woman who seems to always be working when I come in is the rudest person I’ve experienced in a customer service roll. Not just one time, but every time I’ve come in contact with her.Today she refused to even look at the few items I managed to carry in while wrangling my twins. Because they weren’t in a hard sided bin. They were in the bag I BOUGHT FROM THEM. Labeled Once Upon A Child.Such a shame, I want to like this store because it’s close to my house but this woman single handedly ruins my experience every single time.
This is my go-to store for clothing for my son and daughter. They always have a HUGE selection and very reasonable prices. The staff have ALWAYS been friendly and helpful. I love their sale coupons and emails and the customer appreciation card. I know if I need something - theyll have it. I should also add that my children (ages 4 and 8) also love going to the store. They happily hang out in the little play area while I shop.
I went to Once Upon a Child to sell some of my sons great used clothing no spots no anything washed folded because he takes good care of his clothes Ill make sure of it I put the bag on the counter the lady gave me some speech we are only buying such and such stuff winter clothing and we dont have a lot of room so she took my stuff looked at the first couple of items because I stood down an isle and I watched her she did not even look through the entire bag right behind me was a white lady with a smaller bag and nothing was said to her her items were just taken they called her up and they paid her for her bag... first and final time going inside once upon a child i feel a little racial thing going on there.... took them to salvation army theyll find use for them.
After today’s experience, I will never return to the Once Upon A Child Cary location. I went looking for an orange shirt for my preschool age child Orange Day at school. Any clothing item associated with the color orange was moved toward the halloween area, which is understandable. There was an employee placing clearance tags on all the Halloween items. I asked her if the orange shirts were all the sizes together, to which she replied rudely “yes, but there aren’t any costumes right here”. I asked about an orange shirt, not costumes. But located right above the orange shirts were bagged costumes. You would think that a customer inquiring about an orange shirt, you would step away so they could look right quick right? No. She continued to sit down and carry on her business. I pulled a shirt off the rack at the opposite end of where she was working and was given the “how dare you interrupt me glare”. So I walked over to the shoes to browse as I patiently waited for her to finish. Huge mistake. Out of the 6 bins I looked in, half of them smelled of a combination of mildew and sweaty feet. I returned back to the orange shirt section about 15 mins later and she was still in the exact same spot placing stickers and examining an infant outfit. Between being overly crowded with product And limited space trying to move around. I rather drive across town to another store or go to one of the big box stores and pay full price.
Great service they even gave me some places I can take the clothes they didnt take great place with great service
Well organized childrens resale shop. They carry clothing sorted by size, toys, strollers, some new products, etc. Friendly staff and good deals. Ask about selling your items there. Its on the ground floor.
I have sold items at this store a couple times. I also sell sometimes at the Raleigh location. I much prefer this location. I dont expect a huge payout at any of these type of buy/sell/consignment but have always been pleasantly surprised with what I do get from this store particularly. I usually bring in 1 large plastic bin and get anywhere from 15-25 for what they do take (anywhere from 10-18 items). Of course it is no where near what I paid for them or could probably sell myself, but I am okay with that and saving the hassle. I also found a couple dresses for my oldest while waiting. The staff was nice, professional and quick. I hope to sell again.
Bought in a bunch of very nice clothes and few toys once. They did not take any of it. The few items they were interested in they wanted to offer couple dollars for.Save time and travel. Dont expect much as far as selling anything. Staff are unprofessional.
They are very picky on what they take. It is nice if you can get some money on the spot. They give you way less than if you try to sell yourself. Nice though because you are in a safe environment.
Nice store, good selection. Only down side is a lot of the baby toys are dirty, baby food, etc stuck on the toys. I thought that stuff was supposed to be clean before selling. They wont give much when you bring stuff in to sell. But overall, its a good store. Sometimes you can get a good deal, other times you can go to Target or Walmart and get the same thing brand new for only a couple dollars more.
Wish I had read all these one star reviews ahead of time. Took a full bin of clothes this morning and even a few pairs of shoes. They returned most of the things which made this trip seem like a complete waist of time. However the kicker is I took $12 for the items the did keep. They showed me the bin with a few of the clothing items but I guess they decided to hide the pair of Jordans and converse shoes on the bottom. I didnt get asked did I want to look through the bin. It was kinda like take this $12 and get out of my face. I never would have knowing let both pay if shoes plus clothes go for so low. Especially when I could have just loaded them back into my already full back to go back home. Another part of this that rubbed me wrong was that they pretty much declined all of an African American womens things as she was bringing them threw the door! Something seems off here. Never seen a thrift store with a more rude staff, humble yourselves! Will never buy or sell here again.
Nice location. Friendly staff.
I dont know why this place is getting such bad reviews. I love this store!!The staff are very friendly to me every time Ive visited and theyve always asked me if I need help. The guy who works there is great at helping you pull scooters and toys off the top shelves. I love the clothing selection, too. There are always Gymboree and other great brands at great prices.
The store is a complete disaster. The toys are everywhere and not even packaged properly. The clothes and aisles are backwards. The store has a musty odor, it smells like mold. The clothes are in terrible condition, I looked at a few sizes. Shoes are in terrible condition. I honestly dont know why anyone would shop here. I worked for a OUAC for 3 years and you can really tell a difference in quality and ownership. Cary and most shops are super nice, my expectations were high.
Great place for affordable childrens clothes. Not much for toys. Has some nice strollers and things of that nature.
I wish I read reviews before ever stepping foot in the store. As I went thru most of the experiences reviewers below had mentioned. I’m not sure if there’s a better word to explain the extent of the rudeness of the staff here. I’m regretting every single move I made to get the cheapest bucks I received here for such good items. I would have had felt soo much peace in my heart and mind if I had just kept these stuff at a door step of a donation center ... I wonder if there was a place I could report these ppl ...
I buy most of my kids clothes at this location and have picked up some toys as well. (Im strictly a customer and have never sold to them so I cant speak to that aspect.) The clothing selection is wide and affordable and the quality of the items is great.
Horrible customer service, they have wasted my time twice at this place and I will never go back again and I will make sure ALL my family and friends avoid this Place. Was told on the phone that they buy gently used stuff, I packed the car and the baby, went there, got the baby out and struggled to carry all my almost new baby cosleeper and bassinet, once there she said we won’t buy them!!
I drove out of my way to this place and really regret it. The woman who I assume was the manager was so rude. This was my first time bringing things to a consignment store and when I walked up to the counter I politely asked how the process works. The woman informed they prefer the items to be freshly laundered, folded and in a bin of some sort. I asked if it was okay that I had my items in a bag. (They were washed and folded inside bag.) She said that was fine so I brought in one bag and said I had one more. As I walked back in the store the woman sighs at me while Im walking back to the desk. If she didnt want the items in a bag she should have told me to come back with a bin some other time instead of sighing at me and making me feel bad for inconveniencing her life. They proceeded to tell me it would take 1.5 hours to sort through it all. So after 2 hours I returned and walked around the store thinking they would let me know when they were finished with my items.. I got no call when my items were done. I finally walked up to the desk and my items were just sitting there finished. These people at the desk are rude and dont seem to care about customer service at all. I wish I had just taken my stuff and walked out in the first place. I will NEVER go back here again.
The staff for the most part were not friendly. There was one young lady who was a sweetheart cant remember her name, but she was helping put clothes in the aisle and had purple pinkish hair. If she wasnt so friendly would be rating this place a 1 star. More of the workers should be like her.
Very Rude staff. I should have followed my instincts and not have bothered to sell items at this location. The Durham store on 15-501 is much better. I have sold items here for years but the last couple of years have met with rude staff. Neither location pays very well anymore. I have taken clothes never worn with tags still on and they offer minimal price or reject items for no apparent reason. Not worth the trip in gas anymore.
I love Once Upon a child. I go every Tuesday and with a purchased re-useable once upon a child tote, I get a discount on everything that goes in the bag. I am always selling and buying toys as my children grow in and out of things. Great clothes selection, great pay out, great staff. Dont waste your time going to Kid to Kid. They have junk and are rude.
They have a very good selection, the prices are low, and the staff is courteous. What more could you want?
Great selection of clothing and amazing prices. 4 stars because customer service could have been better.
Love the place big selection and prices are good
Been to this location multiple times and never leave happy. I rarely find things for my son here but what irritates me the most is the employees. Everytime i bring clothes to sell that I BROUGHT FROM THEM they wont take them because (they dont take soft bottom shoes.... which i brought from them, my crib is too old which apparently wasn’t supposed to be sold to me in the first place.) My latest visit here will definitely be my last. I brought a container full a baby boy clothes both brand new still with tags on the clothes and used. It took me 45 minutes to go through these clothes. When i brought them there they told me 10-15 minutes which i already knew wasn’t practical for the amount of clothes I brought. I walked around the store for 5 minutes and was told they wouldn’t accept ANYTHING because they have those sizes or the clothes were dirty. MIND YOU, the women there did not touch the container I watched as well as listened to them. They were too busy gossiping that they didn’t want to look through the things. Unhappy with this location. Raleigh is better.
Great selection and reasonable price! Recommend to any parents who needs clothes or toys
As it was my second time going here today I had the same bad experience from the same woman from the first time I went! Thought it would be a whole different experience today but it wasn’t ...very bad customer service from the woman with whom I assumed was the manager since she was the one taking in things. She was very rude, I don’t think I’ll ever be going back!
My favorite store! Employees are great. The store is well organized. I love that this store has more toys and clothes than the Durham location.
This store is always overcrowded with stuff, which means they dont buy alot from customers. Not easy to find things. They always switch out summer clothes way to soon. Its hot all the way up to the end of October but have Fall clothing in July! 😐👎❌🚫
Great condition clothes/itemsfor children great prices name brand too!
Im a mother of a 1 & 3 year old whos been coming to Once Upon A Child since before my oldest was born. Ive been to many consignment shops and the prices and service here are second to none. Having two so young can make shopping difficult. For that reason, I love the fact that I can actually get a refund here and not just store credit(i.e. Kid2Kid). I can pick all the things I like, purchase them, and try them on my children at home without feeling rushed or wondering if this new shirt will go with my daughters pants I have at the house. Then, whatever I dont want I can bring back with no problems.Staff:The staff at the store is very warm. While I was pregnant, they insisted on helping me load my car. Though I understand it can be challenging working with people, everyday, they always seem cheerful when I come in. They greet me & my family, and when Im there without my kids or my husband, they ask about them. I feel like theyve grown with us, almost like they care about us personally...not like were just another customer.Selection/Price:Ive been to Kid to Kid in Apex & Cary, as well as the Raleigh Once Upon A Child and their prices are all higher that the Cary location. In all the time Ive been shopping there, it is a very rare time, I dont find what Im needing when I go there to shop.Policies:One of the things I love is when I bring in my items to sell, I get taken care of the same day!! IM ACTUALLY GETTING PAID WHILE I SHOP!!! At other stores, Ive run into either not being able to complete the sell that day or being limited to certain days or hours that they actually buy your clothes. The return policy I mentioned above is one that keeps me coming back. Conclusion:I would definitely recommend this store to someone that isnt looking to spend a fortune to dress their kids in nice clothes, with the kind of return policy you would expect at a full price retail store.
I visited this location with the intent to sell but decided against it after reading reviews. They have far too many clothes. Terrible attic smell. Customer service was average. The blonde was pleasant but from the look on the brunettes face when i stopped her to ask a question, you wouldve thought Id asked for her kidney. I took my items to the Durham location. They bought 27 out of 30 items that I brought in.
Just ok. Nothing too amazing and its seems like the rules change each visit on what they accept.
I shop in this store ALL the time and have never had any issues until today. Upon arrival I asked a lady selling some items back if she would be interested in selling one of her items to me. It was something that I had been looking for a while.Well then the lady behind the counter proceeds to say We would appreciate if you would not do that in here.. Do you two know each other? Are you together?Ok... number one.. DO NOT speak to me like I am your child.Number 2.. VERY RUDENumber 3 .. I was informed at check out when I asked who she was that her name was Mary and she was the owner.I was very disappointed to hear that she was the owner. Every employee in that facility has always been very kind, respectful, and helpful which is more than I can say for the so-called owner. It makes me feel embarrassed for all the people that I have referred there to give her business.I will still shop there for the other employees.... but I wish the owner was not making the profit because someone like that should not be let out in public.
I came in here to sell clothes and a hello kitty walker and they told me that itll be around 1.5 hours....okay. Come back 2 hours later theyre still not done. So I gave it another 2 hours and I stood at the check out counter for maybe 15-20 minutes while there were 3 sales associates at the front....waited and waited and waited for maybe another 10 minutes until I had to say something. I tried not to be rude
This location is better than the Raleigh one, but its still not great. My wife and I have gotten some good deals here, but weve also gotten toys with missing parts more than once (Im pretty sure Mr. Potato Head isnt supposed to have two left arms).
Have Not let me down yet &my son is turning 4yrs old this year.😊All smiles this way
Great deals. Affordable prices! We love it here!
Don’t give your money to this place. They are SO RUDE and don’t deserve to be in business.
Great selection, nice prices. Can get crowded and overwhelming on Saturdays
Very good second hand store for kids. Toys, clothing and all what you need for a baby. They have specials going on sometimes. Look at there fb.
They offer cash for gently used kids clothing
This location is the only convenient OUAC location for me to attend, but Im questioning if convenience is really that important...Ive been to this location a hand full of times, and not a single time have I been pleased with the store or the employees. This store has an abundance of clothes, but they seem to take only similar looking clothes. I mean, how many green plaid shirts, or white cardigans does one store really need? There is no variety! Also, if youre looking for clothes in season... look someplace else. I found more thin strap & short sleeve shirts than the appropriate for this coming fall// winter season that we are fast approaching. Now, onto the EXTREMELY rude employees...I know they saw me walk in, so there is no eexplanation for any of this...No welcome upon entering the store, no help finding anything, no thank you before leaving... but best of all... ALWAYS an argument!! Whether Im asking for my card to be stamped, asking to use my full card, or asking to purchase an item they just purchased from a seller... there is always a snotty remark that leads into more.In short, dont waste your time with this store!!!
Lots of great deals. Organized by color!
Friendly staff. Tons of stuff for all ages! Great prices! Keep up the great work, ladies! 👍😎
Great selection but absolutely terrible service. I was one of two people on the entire store, had one item to check out....5 people behind the registers (doing odds and ends things) and no one offered to check me out. I stood there for at least 8 mins, then the lady in front of me offered for me to go ahead of her and still none of the others stopped to check me out. 15 mins later Im finally walking out!!! Crazy!
I dropped off a box of my sons clothes and toys to sell. Took about 35-40 minutes for them to sort and select what they wanted, despite my being the first drop-off of the day. Staff were polite, so Im not sure what the other reviews are about.
Good place
Today was my second time here and I was giving it a second chance after a terrible first experience. The first experience, I was met with rude staff who were very short with standard explanations as to why my items werent accepted....I took 5 tubs of neatly organized, high quality items and came home with 4 full tubs with my items crammed back in. Today, it was packed and I was met with young, friendly staff but they spent more time chit chatting than processing items.....I was there for over 2 hours! And, after refining the items I SELECTED to take, I again left with more than half my items to bring back home. Again, I got the standard response that it was due to slight wear, stains and not a style that would sell. Meanwhile during both experiences, I found multiple items on the racks in much worse condition than mine and items that I could purchase retail for the same price. I will only be visiting in the future for the one off items needed to only wear once. Ill be going back to the Raleigh location that is much less convenient but where I consistently hae positive experiences.
I went to Once Upon A Child in Cary for the first time the other day to sell some of my sons clothes, etc. Before I even packed up a box I looked at their website to see what they buy and if there are any restrictions. It says they buy year round clothing, even Halloween costumes. They ended up purchasing only 1/2 of what I brought and I ended up getting $25 dollars for it. I was pleased, but when I came home and looked at the stuff that they didnt want to purchase I was a little confused. There were numerous pieces of brand new clothing, some with tags still on them that they didnt want.. Also, I was unaware that they dont purchase infant sleepers, which is odd to me. I will probably go back to buy clothing there because the prices are pretty good, but it was almost insulting that they didnt want 1/2 of the clothing I was offering them. Everything was in great condition, if not brand new.
