When I arrived the car was ready for me to look at and test drive prior to purchasing. Steve in finance made the purchase of the car a wonderful experience. I have a 2017 Volkswagen Sportwagen that needed a standard oil change so I scheduled service at the Leith Volkswagen of Cary dealership. No one met me at my car when I pulled up to the service center. When the service was completed, I was handed my keys and told that my car was outside. I have owned Hondas and Nissans in the past and had service done at their respective dealerships and had never been treated in this way. I had always been met at my car by a service technician when I got service done and had always been escorted back to my car when service was done. I thought that this was a standard business practice until going to the Leith Volkswagen of Cary dealership. I am not sure if this treatment was because of pandemic worker shortages (4 people were working at the service center after I got out of my car to go inside the dealership) or because my service was done on a Friday after 4 pm when most people are checked out mentally for the weekend. Either way, I was disappointed in the service.

Jimmy Kamara, the sales manager Jim, and the finance manager Kendal were amazing to work with. I first reached out to Jim via text after seeing a car I was interested in on the website. He responded within a few minutes and was super responsive and easy to talk to. He set me up with Jimmy, who I met with the next day for a test drive. The whole process was seamless -- Jimmy was super friendly and set expectations for how long each step of the process would take. He even helped me move my personal stuff from my old car to the new one. From start to finish, I felt like everyone was being honest and transparent, which can be the hard part of buying or leasing a car. Everything was explained and illustrated on paper, and Jim started us off with an awesome deal that met my needs, leaving us to just work things out like everyday honest people. It was really refreshing. This was actually the most comfortable dealership experience Ive had, and I typically buy or lease a new car every 3 years. Cant recommend them enough. Great team over there. Thank you all!

I didnt have a problem with my salesperson; everyone is more than willing to help when youre preparing to purchase a car. Let me tell you about my experience after I bought my vehicle. I had 3 specific problems.. The undercover ended up falling down as Im riding down the interstate. The auto start/stop engine feature would make the engine turn completely off at a stop light and make me shift to park to restart the car and check engine light came on within 30 days of the purchase. My first problem is when I called to make an appt. for service I was told they couldnt do it due to my vehicle being off-brand (2017 Ford Escape) She said she couldnt do it because of the way their system is set up.--You need to fix your system then, because anyone thats spending thousands of dollars with your business should be able to make an appt! After stressing to her that Im a single mother working full time that lives an hour away and I dont have time to spare she still said she couldnt do it but after getting a little upset she eventually made me an appt. Second; they tried to make me pay for the coil and spark plugs to be replaced. After speaking with multiple people they said they would work with me, meaning the dealership would cover half still putting me in the hole hundreds of dollars. After many attempts of trying to get them to take care of it, they finally did. Apparently this was not covered under my 30 day dealership warranty so they did me a favor pretty much is the way they were making it sound but in all actuality it shouldve been taken care of from the start in my opinion. Third; when I went to pick up my car, they had the wrong car pulled around so I spent about 30 mins trying to find my car. The cashier was rude along with the receptionist. The receptionist had one earbud in watching Facebook videos on her phone. I spoke to her twice but she was so tuned in on her phone that there was no response. The cashier was very rude when I came back in to tell her that the unlocked car parked outside was not mine. Her response was OKAY.. WELL youre going to have to go find a sales manger to help you in a very apathetic way. (when she shouldve said something like oh no, Im so sorry for the inconvenience. Lets walk over here to see if we can find someone to help.) Fourth; on the drive home the car felt like it had the same issues. Called the dealership back and they asked if I thought it was pretty much in my head and I said no.... guess what, the check engine light is back on along with a leak from the roof/headliner. I have not contacted them about this yet because the check engine light and the leak just popped up! Im so stressed and irate about this car that was purchased only in August that Im simply resorting to writing a review. Im very laid back dont let things get to me but Im beyond over with the experience at Leith Volkswagen of Cary. Debating on if I should even say anything to the dealership because they probably wont make it right anyways and I really dont even want to deal with anyone from there anymore. Ive enjoyed writing this review knowing that its out there for the public to see and anyone who is doing their homework before buying a car from Leith Volkswagen of Cary can fully prepare themselves before opening their wallets.

Purchased a 2020 Tiguan and am on my 3rd oil change. Before I was due for my oil change I had to add a quart of oil due to low oil. There is also black residue in the engine bay (more than just dirt) I made an appointment for service and told them of the issue . I get to my appointment and I’m told he can check to see if it burning oil or if there is a leak but he knows that the test will come back in tolerance and that they will not be able to due anything.(he’s done this test many times on the Tiguan and Atlas) sound like to me they have ran into this issue before. I said well let do the test but he tells me it will take 3 or more hours and he’s pretty sure everything will test fine anyways. (Once again trying to push for me not to have the test) He won this time bc I didn’t have an extra 3 hours to wait. Either way you look at it a new car shouldn’t loose a quart of oil before its oil change. Maybe if it were a high mileage car but not new. My wife’s Honda hasn’t my previous Honda hasn’t. Both purchased new. I guess if you decide to get a VW be prepared to add oil before oil changes and by no means bring it up to the service department bc they don’t want to take the time to see if there is any kind of issues or they know there’s an issue but just try to assure you there isn’t one. I’ve purchased many of cars for Leith and AutoPark and I would have to say that the service at VW is not on or with the rest of the group.

Updated: 06 July 2021I spoke with Rusty Carter who’s been the service provider for 18yrs at this location. We both agreed that it was truly a miscommunication and a few honest mistakes were made. He did find an issue with one of the spark plugs that was used and replaced all the spark plugs and even reimbursed me for the valve gasket cover. I didn’t expect to get reimbursed for anything, but I think it goes to show that they are willing to own up to honest mistakes and take accountability. None of use are perfect, and I am just so relieved the the repair saga seems to be over!I did have a few maintenance services performed on my car at once. One of those services was changing my spark plugs. I got my spark plugs changed and I’ve been having misfires ever since. I took the car back because I got a check engine light the day after my service. They said I needed a new gasket valve cover and a catalytic converter. They told me they wouldn’t have to touch the valve gasket cover in order to change the spark plugs. So I got it fixed. Within a week the check engine light came right back on. I tried to make an appointment and the service provider said I would need to have fixed the catalytic converter first before I brought it in or else he would just tell me the same thing. I go to get the catalytic converter fixed and they said there isn’t anything wrong with my catalytic converter and that I have another misfire code! The mechanic did mention that spark plugs needed to be checked even if they’re sold as pre gapped spark plugs. He also told me it would’ve been almost impossible not to touch the valve gasket cover when changing the spark plugs.

Only 6 minutes before the scheduled service, and after I had arrived, I received a voicemail saying that there was actually no service availability for the next week.They claimed they had been trying to contact me however I had no other calls or emails from them.Furthermore, no attempt was made to fix the situation beyond offering me an appointment that was over a week away and blaming website for having problems

Today I was in this dealer, located in Cary, I was going with all my intention of changing my current car and buying a new VW, but I must say that it was the worst experience I had when buying a vehicle! First, the salesman who attended me while he was showing me a car, was serving two more clients, who arrived even after me. The worst thing about my whole experience was that after more than 1 hour and a half of waiting, the seller, while giving numbers to another client, told me that the dealers manager would come to attend me in short minutes, another half hour of waiting, looking at the ceiling, the manager sits with an attitude of indifference and very little desire to sell me a car, when he finally gives me the numbers, I asked him if they offer any specials or discounts that could help me get the price I can afford, and he, in a very closed and unfriendly way, refused to everything in a disrespectful way, of course I did not hesitate to leave at the same moment that I discovered the bad treatment and that they definitely did not want to sell me a car. If the deal had been nicer and really with the attitude of selling me a car, I would have bought it! even if they didnt give me any discount, because I was very interested, but my money and my time is worth as much as that of others! I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU GO TO THIS DEALER TO LOOK FOR YOUR CAR, you will waste your time and give you a very bad time! I will look for another brand of car or another dealer!

I ended up leasing a vehicle from this dealership. The service was awful - it took probably 30 minutes for someone to even speak to me. Unfortunately, I was in a tough situation and needed a new car THAT day. Ive had my leased vehicle over a year now and I just now found out things regarding my lease that I should have been told the day I signed the paperwork - not to mention I was informed of these things from another dealership all together. If I could go back in time I would have NEVER given this dealership my business. Im not one to write reviews but I would give them zero stars if it were an option.

I came to Leith Volkswagen Cary to get a spare key programmed. I paid about $200 for the key and another $150 to get it programmed. I had Tony M. as a service technician. Long story short, the key was not programmed correctly. I would attempt to unlock my car and the trunk would pop open. In addition, I asked Tony and the team to just complete one simple task and they tried to give me a laundry list of other maintenance totaling $1800. This included an oil change which I had already received TWO weeks prior. Now I’m without my car for an additional day. #stealership Needless to say, How can I trust Leith Volkswagen Cary to service my car when they can’t even program a key correctly? When I took my car back Rusty gave me a multitude of excuses ultimately just proving their incompetence and lack of care. Finally they only offered me a car wash. In conclusion, only go to Leith Volkswagen if you want terrible service and customer care.

This is the place for any VW!! Wether you are having problems with your car, want to detail, or just need a simple oil change, this place is quick and worth the money. The staff was incredibly friendly. We were greeted as soon as we opened the door. They asked all the right questions, and go down the entire list! (Also the inside is really cool with the classic VW tie-dye decor, definitely worth seeing.) I can actually say my car works better now, than it did when I got it.

I’m truly surprised to see so many positive reviews. I was told by a finance manager that this dealership would take my credit application and then find me a vehicle that would work. I got a call from my salesperson that told me I was approved for a 2021 Jetta with $0 down and with a monthly payment that fit my budget. After test driving what I thought was the exact vehicle we discussed, I was told that the one I was approved for was sold earlier in the day. They could not get another deal set for me, so naturally I’m frustrated. I spoke with another manager after who said he wasn’t aware of this deal and situation but the only thing he could offer me was gas, for my already full tank. He told me that there was nothing they could do to help me, unless I found a co-signer. There was a complete lack of effort to make amends for the trouble they caused me and for my time wasted. Unless you want to be embarrassed and have your time wasted, I don’t recommend using this dealership. If you do, take any deals and offers lightly.

I brought my wife’s new Beetle for some repairs on damage that occurred to the wiper motor. Please note I did not buy the car there but from reviews I read about Leith was the place to go. I WAS RIGHT! Matt Nelson and the crew in service are a true breath of fresh air. If that is a reflection on how the Leith dealerships operate, they are my new go to on all service and any new vehicles are getting bought there. They fixed the car and all related issues with great communication. They also contacted Volkswagen and informed them of the incident, Volkswagen agreed with the service center and covered all cost related to the issue. The whole experience was organized and extremely helpful to me as a customer. Basically, they are now the only ones who work on the car and I will be servicing the car there exclusively. BTW the new beetle is an awesome car, drives beautiful.

Customer service is amazing, Ahmed helped me out in buying a pre-owned car and he was fantastic, as was the financing manager. I would gladly request either of them in the future. The atmosphere is so unique and way more pleasant than any other dealership I’ve ever been to. Love the down to earth vibe.The showroom is like a time machine with gorgeous vintage VWs, and the funky 60s decor/casual uniforms are a breath of fresh air! I would come back here in a heartbeat. While overall we had a positive experience we felt some information was held back when we bought a 2021 Atlas. While we love our new SUV; no one at the dealership explained to us the features available in 2021.5 model. It was not until I couldn’t figure out a feature that I discovered it was because it was not present. It is extremely frustrating to buy a new car in January of 2021 and already have it be outdated. As we were purchasing a new car for latest features and safety options this comes as a major disappointment. While we should have read the fine print, the differences between trim levels and models should be standard explanation to potential buyers. We are now stuck with an outdated car les than a week into ownership.

This is my second VW and I have been to multiple dealers for service over the years. The Leith Cary service center is by far the worst, and failed to do anything to fix my issue on multiple occasions.I bought a new GTI from Leith in January, the sales process was smooth, not complaints there. Once the weather warmed up, I discovered that the A/C was not working, so I scheduled a service online. Luckily, I called the day before to confirm the appointment, because they were not aware of the appointment (despite their system emailing to confirm it). To make matters worse, their A/C machine was broken, so they couldnt fix my car. Things happen, so I made an appointment for 7 days later.A week goes by and I get a call 20 minutes before my appointment from Leith VW that I could not pickup, no voicemail was left. So I call back and a rude operator had no idea why I was being called, but did confirm my appointment. So I bring my car in for service...to discover that the A/C machine is still broken. The staff made sure to tell me we tried to call you... So no luck again...So I emailed the service manager, who promptly wrote to apologize without offering to do anything to help me out. Finally, I called Flow VW in Durham and they gave me an appointment quickly.I understand that machines break and things happen...make an effort to respect your customers time, act like you actually care about them, and actually try to assist them.

Had my 2014 Passat towed to the dealership yesterday after the oil pressure warning came on. Pulled the dipstick and noted that it was all but dry.I had previously taken the car to Valvoline for an oil change. They initially did not replace the crush washer even after I advised them that it would have to be done. Found the car leaking oil all over my driveway the next morning. I went back for a refund but was assured they would solve the problem. After they changed the oil once more the car was not leaking as before but it turns out they used the incorrect air filter and again did not properly install the crush washer which is how I found myself stuck on the side of the road yesterday.Ian, my service advisor at Leith, listened closely as I explained what I thought the issues might be and made sure all of my concerns were addressed. He was able to get my car in the shop yesterday just a few hours after having it towed in and Im now on my way in to pick it up. The bill is shockingly reasonable and I now know the exact issues with my vehicle and was provided a detailed invoice summarizing the problems and solutions.Never again will I go to a place like Valvoline to save 20 bucks on an oil change. Leith VW of Cary has a new customer for life thanks to Ian and his team.

The no hassle pricing only is a benefit to Leith in my opinion. I found 3 other vehicles like the one they had with fewer miles and beat their price by over $1000 on each one. Carvana also beats their price and does not have the dealer doc fee. Leith refused to negotiate. Money in my pocket and they lost a customer for life.

Not really a fan but I have a VW so have to use them for some things. They dont follow much social distancing and seemed to touch so many more surfaces than they needed to in my car - just hopped in and started touching things to show me something that they could have verbally guided me through from outside the vehicle. They just never seem to have much urgency and talk to me like Im a buddy they are doing a favor rather than a valued, paying customer.

They Did It Again...This was my second visit in as many years. While passing through North Carolina, I wanted an oil change since I was putting the miles on during my trip home. This review is long overdue, but I began leasing my car from Leith VW of Cary about a year and a half ago. Cedric and Brandon were the best. Brandon made the car buying experience as painless as possible. I never felt like I was being pushed to make a decision and he took the time to help me figure out what I wanted - even when it took multiple visits and lots of questions. It was such a refreshing experience compared to what I experienced at neighboring dealerships. Since then, I’ve had nothing but great experiences with the service department. Be careful when buying a car here. The MSRP of a Volkswagen GTI S automatic is $29,495. I somehow ended up paying $31,074 as the cash price of this vehicle (thats before taxes and fees, this is just the cost of the car.) Ill probably never get over it and Ill tell anyone who will listen to go elsewhere for a Volkswagen for the rest of my life, never returning past the 20,000 miles of service theyve offered. I have myself to blame as well; I got a bit caught up and was excited after driving the car. If you go here, just make sure you have your wits about you. I feel swindled and I have no recourse.

We bought a 2013 Jetta CPO and have had nothing but issues. The car has spent at least 2 1/2-3 months in the service department and we’ve only had the car for 11 months. It took 6 weeks to get a headliner put in after the sunroof was repaired due to leaks. Very poor communication. When the car was finally picked up..the service engine light came on 5 minutes after leaving the dealership. We have decided to take to a different Volkswagen where we got much better service not only in repair of the car but better customer service as a whole.

Arguably the best car buying experience Ive ever had. And the easiest, by far. They dont use pushy sales tactics, but do offer you lots of valuable advice and choices instead. They still offer you all kinds of protection products, but theyve found the way to do it without being sleazy. That in itself is a huge accomplishment. (Hats off to Mary Primm.) I think I might have gotten a slightly better price, if I haggled for n-teen more hours, but it was not really necessary. I am more than satisfied with the purchase and the value I got. Special thanks to Jim Kamara for being professional and friendly through the whole process. A+
