I absolutely lucked into the opportunity to buy a very low miles 2008 E350. It needed a Pre Purchase Inspection and a few other minor things that I knew about. What was truly stunning was not only the communication and professionalism I got from Daniel but also they came back with a detailed report of things this car would need * in the next 7-10,000 miles* NOT in the next 7 days. I was told to go drive it and enjoy it and see how it responded after not being driven much the last few years. There are two jobs that need to be done in the next year and Daniel said to drive it 7000 miles and do one in 6 mos when I change the oil and do the other in a year. That neither of them had to be done today, they were just things to monitor and be aware of. If you know anything at all about great cars then you know service is not cheap. I pay for great skill when it comes to great cars but feeling like you can trust someone to give you correct information who will not suggest that all work needs to be done tomorrow or the car will blow up is of equal value... Never taking any car I own anywhere else ever again.

Highly recommend - I can’t say enough positive things about Import Motor Werks. The Import Motor Werks staff is professional and very knowledgeable. Daniel (the service rep) provided me with a projected completion timeline for my automobile repair and kept me abreast of any potential changes via text message.Prior to taking my vehicle to Motor Werks, I personally ordered the repair parts myself and unfortunately there was a snafu I had failed to initially order all the appropriate items to complete the work, luckily for me Daniel provided recommendations for a safe workaround to complete the automobile repair work. I concurred with the workaround solution set; the Import Motor Werks team was able to complete the work in a timely fashion which reduce the vehicle maintenance downtime. Couldnt recommend this place high enough! I brought my BMW in in need of several repairs: oil pan gasket leak, bad engine mounts, bad thrust arm brushings to name a few. Not only did I save a ton of money by coming here over the dealership, but they bundled services together so I wouldnt pay double for labor. I got updates everyday on the progress, as well as images uploaded to my customer link so I could see what the mechanic was seeing. All in all, I was extremely pleased with the service and repairs. I will absolutely be coming back to Import Motor Werks and referring all my friends here as well.

Always professional and courteous. Will get permission before any repairs. They really stand by their own work and will fix any issues if anything was repaired incorrectly at their own expense. They are enthusiasts of European vehicles and I wouldnt take my vehicle anywhere else.

This was my first visit to Import Motors. I needed a pre-purchase inspection done on a vehicle I was considering buying. Import Motor was able to get me scheduled in that day and within a couple hours the report was ready with lots of detailed information that was extremely useful to know before making a purchase. They’ve gone out of their way to provide great service and on rare occasion when something wasn’t quite right they quickly corrected any issue until I was completely satisfied. When considering a car for my daughter I specifically chose a vehicle which could be serviced here.I can recommend IMW as a much better experience than a Large Dealership for all your imported car service.

As a first-time customer, I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience with IMW! Not only were they fast to get me an estimate on the work that was needed, but it was delivered in a very tec-forward manner.I received a text with a brief description of my vehicles issues, but what made it even better was the link included in the text, which took me to a page explaining everything in detail, including pictures of the damaged parts, breakdown of the quote and a section that allowed me to respond, saving me the time of waiting to speak with someone directly.When I did speak with the service advisor (Daniel), he broke everything down for me, was patient and even invited me to come down to view the issues, before they did any work.The icing on the cake happened when I went to return my courtesy loaner car (yes, loaner car) and pick up my car, which was completed very quickly. Needed a PPI shortly before a trip from out of state to view Porsche 911 for sale in Cary. Import Motor Werks made it happen and provided a written and verbal report prior to my visit to the dealership. With the help of the PPI, I ended up purchasing the vehicle.

In 2011, I bought a 2000 BMW M5 with a blown engine sight unseen from its owner in Boston. I had it towed to IMW where they found a new (to me) engine and installed it; since then its run like a champ. Ive had almost all of my work done on this car at Import Motor Works. There isnt a more knowledgeable and reasonable shop around. Unlike the dealer(s) Ive had to use, IMW will repair only what really needs doing. And their work is first class. I live in Winston Salem and its worth the drive just to get my car aligned there...it runs like its on the proverbial rails afterwords.Ive had this car for over five years now...its got over 150,000 miles on it and runs like a top thanks to the folks at Import Motor Werks.Hats off to the whole team and especially Mike Doherty who has helped turn this pigs ear of a car into the proverbial silk purse it is now.

I love this place. I own three Audis and one Honda, and I like to do my own work on my cars whenever its within the bounds of my skill and my collection of tools (including a lift). IMW - I work almost entirely with Daniel - has been extremely supportive of my DIY efforts, providing excellent advice to support me and then fitting me into the schedule when I get stuck, or when its a job I just cant do. Ive never once felt like there was any bias towards getting me to bring the car to IMW rather than doing the work on my own. I trust IMW implicitly and wont take any of my cars anywhere else. If I cant fix it, it goes to IMW.

I took my Benz to the dealer to have it serviced and left feeling like I was just assaulted. To avoid making the same mistake I found these guys on google. At first, I thought all the reviews had to be fake. No way is an auto shop doing this good but I am here to tell you that all of it is true. Making an appointment was super easy over the phone. Tammy (the owner) stopped by while I waited and told me to make myself at home, which is easy to do in their living room/waiting area. Daniel clearly knows his stuff, walked me through what needed to be done and was mindful of cost. Maintaining a Benz is not cheap but I feel their prices are reasonable and WAY better than the dealer. Things to note, they do not have loaner cars per say, they are not open on the weekends and they did not detail my car once it was done. If those things are important to you I would look elsewhere. If you want someone who is an expert in servicing your import and treat you like family, I would highly recommend using Import Motor Werks.

My sister recommended IMW instead of BMW dealership. I scheduled an appointment online and a tech came to pick my car from my house, how nice!? They were honest and professional. Price is not bad at all for a job well done.IMW should consider opening a spot in Maryland & DC area.

Hands down, the best in the entire area. Nothing but professionalism, from check in to discharge. I felt confidence that what work they provide is honest, current standard pricing (not bloated or opportunistic) and I actually felt a sense of calm while waiting any assessment they offered. The diversity of personalities is a winning combination as well. There is a warm and family feeling in the air, with a big dose of job well done and several perfectionists on- board. They offer sweet rentals and a cozy wait area, that are typically found at large car dealers, but actually not as nice in some cases. I never feel I have the take a number and wait for your name to be called, herded in and out environment there. They tell you everything up front, they are painfully honest and help you. So, if you need to figure out the best approach to your personal financial abilities and the needs of your car, there is no pressure or cons to deal with. You can tell, they actually care about their customers safety and quality of workmanship. Once the work is done, they stand behind it 100%. I had my transmission fluid and filter rep[aced. The price was less than I was quoted since fewer quarts of transmission fluid were used to fill the transmission. I was given a loaner car while mine was in service, and 5 hours later my car was ready. I am very pleased with the performance of my car and personal service Michael extends to his customers.

A tire shop in Sanford recommend Import Motor Werks to me and when I had a situation that required a professional to fix I have them a call. It was a great choice as these folks got me a quick appointment, loaned me a car, communicated at every step of the work and did an outstanding job. The guy doing the work was very knowledgeable and took the time to talk at length to me about several other jobs that I planned on doing. All this and they did it for a very reasonable price. BMWs can get be a pain in not only your behind but your wallet but they made the experience much more palatable. Ive been back twice and recommended them to several friends as well as my son.

For most of us, we have the basic understanding of our vehicle and how it works but when it comes to the details, we rely on our selection of car shops and word of mouth of its mechanics. Very simply a shop with poor or average mechanics will not survive. Equally as important is attitude, an operation where the staff and leadership are not devoted to customer service will close its doors just as fast as a place with unqualified technicians. The conclusion to be drawn is there are probably many fine businesses where you can have your vehicle serviced in the triangle, even foreign car facilities where the complexity can be significant.A third but essential trait of a company is the character or moral fiber of a business. What puts Import Motor Werks a step ahead of other organizations is what happens when something goes wrong. I recently purchased a 1987 BMW 325I with 170,000 miles. My bucket list intention is to pass this car along to my very young grandson and to enjoy the process as we both grow older. The repairs were lengthy but went smoothly until an accident happened in the shop. No ones fault but as we all know stuff happens. It is under these circumstances where the character of an organization and its team are revealed.I have been in the business world more years than I care to remember and I will absolutely guarantee, a company with the leadership quality of character, will have a staff with an outstanding attitude and top flight technicians. I was kept informed the entire way from problem to conclusion. I have met the ownership, leadership and key personnel of Import Motor Werks and have the utmost confidence and respect in the people involved as we keep my grandsons car to be in outstanding operating condition and appearance.

As always, these guys do outstanding work. Ive had them work on my MX-5 Roadster a number of times, mostly performance suspension work. They installed a custom coil-over suspension and did a performance alignment; they also did some minor exhaust system work. Couldnt be happier with how everything turned out, and they were able to get the alignment camber and caster within 0.1 degrees of my specifications, which is pretty darn good.Im extremely happy with their work, and so is my car!

This is my first review on google - which is a testament to my unhappiness with import motor werks. I towed my car there after it broke down because it much closer than Bimmer performance center. They told me I had a problem which was covered by a BMW recall, we had it towed to BMW and were then told it was NOT covered by a recall. Additionally, the problem was misdiagnosed in the first place. I emailed import motor werks about this with the intent of taking my car back, their response was unapologetic and unprofessional. Ended up taking my car to Bimmer performance center, they correctly diagnosed the problem right away and allowed us to purchase our own parts saving a lot of money.Do not take your vehicles here, take them to BPC! This will save you, time, money, and frustration.

I chose them as an alternative to the dealer. They are honest, reliable, and did the work for a fair price, certainly better than the dealer. From start to finish, the communication was excellent both from mechanic to service manager and from service manager to me. Everything is thoroughly documented and transparent. This way, nothing can fall through the cracks. Upon pickup, I received a very detailed and informative 8 page receipt that shows all notes, communications, prices, work done, etc. Its all there and very transparent. They provided a loaner car and the entire process top to bottom was hassle free. Will definitely go back there for any further work or maintenance needs for my Audi.

Fantastic customer service. Always kept me in the loop on what was happening with my car throughout the diagnostic and repair process. Flexible and accommodating. Went out of their way to get my car its state inspection and even brought it to the Audi dealer for me for a software update only the dealer could do. My experience with Import Motors was an extremely positive one.

Visited Import Motor Werks for the first time to perform a PPI on an older BMW that I ended up purchasing post inspection. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, both at the desk and the mechanics. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars is because they missed some items on the inspection that I wouldve expected them to catch. Also, the form they use is very generic and I had to pull answers out of the mechanic instead of having all the issues noted in the first place. For a $150 inspection I expected more. Maybe offer several levels of inspection depending on what the customer is willing to pay for so that there are no surprises.

There are so many good things to say about Import motor werks, I dont know where to begin. Extraordinary service, the quality of the labor far surpassed the dealership. Maybe even the manufacturer, who knows. My car drives like it has never driven before. Meticulous attention to detail. Im so glad I found the best shop for my 14 year old baby bimmer.

Car ran rough and had yellow service soon codes after being tuned up and many parts placed. They had the equipment needed to ascertain the problems and correct them. Car was picked up spotless. Neat and thorough establishment. Highly recommended.

I had taken my M5 to my regular shop for a rattling noise, and after spending a considerable amount of money the original noise was not fixed and the previous shop did not cooperate in pursuing the issue further..So I contacted Michael at import Motor Werks, and scheduled an appointment, I could tell from the time I walked in to their shop, these guys are pros and honest, Matt the great and nice Mechanic took the time to go out for a test drive with me, who does that nowadays? and listened to the noise himself and my concerns, then went to the shop and literally in 15 minutes, put the car on the lift and fixed the problem in no time and came back to inform me that it was a small part thats missing and they did not even charge me for it, thats honesty and good business. Import Motor Werks brought my ML-55 back to life after many many miles of wear and tear. Even after our service/visit the owner called to follow up on our satisfaction and went above and beyond to check out a lingering sound I heard from my brakes just to be sure all was well. They definitely didn’t have to do that but I appreciate the excellent customer service and will not hesitate to return for all services in the future. Thank you IMW!

14 MONTHS LATER AND everything still works as good as it did when I got the car back! My 370zs clutch slave cylinder failed so I was very skeptical of where to take my car for service after a history of poor repairs from various mechanics on past vehicles. I bought more durable aftermarket replacement parts and Import Motor Werks had no issues installing and adjusting them. My clutch pedal feel and response is much improved and Im happy knowing I can now trust a shop near me.

Great customer service and overall great experience! The loaner car option really alleviated stress. And I loved having most of the contact via email so that I could relay info easily to my husband as the repairs were being done.

I was looking for a mechanic in the area to work on my 2001 Pathfinder. I read through many of these reviews and most are very positive. Its an older car so it definitely had its fair share of problems, A/C not working, death wobble suspension, ball joints, brakes, etc. They were very thorough in their examination and did an amazing job fixing everything. Each year I bring my car in for a year service. This is my second year and as always very pleased with the service. Jacob found my battery in my key fob low during the maintenance and replaced in gratis. Nice touch. With the addition of David who is one of the best in the field of window tinting I know have a UV protected car which will prevent plastic and leather from aging quicklyIt also reduced my interior temperature by a significant amount. They noticed an issue that they recommended I take up my dealership since the car is still under warranty. Overall very pleased with all work performed giving me a level of confidence that I know my car will remain trouble free. A nice touch is listing the maintenance done as well as the results including tread and brake pad life and adjustment criteria for my 4 wheel alignment plus updating my warranty book. Been dealing with them for almost 10 years and have never had any issues. Thanks for all you do to give me that level of confidence.

I have four cars, ranging from minivan to classic Lincoln, foreign and U.S. built. Franks services them all, doing whatever I need done, delivering when promised. The office staff is cheerful and competent, the mechanics know their stuff, even about oddball issues like whats the best muffler for a genteel older car sound. I recommend them most highly. They aint cheap, but they are worth it.

The consistency in confirming new work requirements, keeping me up to date on progress, and making very useful suggestions while educating me on various details that I was previously ignorant of, all combined with very friendly and honest service, made for one of the most pleasant experiences that Ive had in an industry that usually makes me cringe to deal with! Major kudos to all of the individuals who assisted me with my vehicular issues! I intend to return to Import Motor Werks for anything else I may need in the future, and recommend them Highly to anyone who appreciates Excellent customer service, affordable pricing, and great quality of workmanship.

Import Motor Werks did a phenomenal job with my Mini Cooper. I had my clutch and flywheel replaced recently and couldnt be happier. It literally drives better now than when I purchased it new. The service was excellent and price was competitive. I will definitely be taking it back from now on.

Motor Werks quickly diagnosed a failed component, ordered and installed the new part in the drivers power seat in my 323 convertible. The seat had failed in a position very close to the steering wheel making the car nearly impossible to drive. The work was done in a short time and I was provided with a free loaner while the car was being worked on. The quality of the work was excellent and the price was very fair. The car is a year 2000 and over time Ive brought it to Motor Werks for maintenance and repairs and have always been pleased with their quality work that lasts without issues. I recommend them for sure.

Fantastic customer service. Only recommends work that needs to be done. Final bill was less than estimate because the mechanic didn’t need the standard time. I highly recommend.

The staff was very good and friendly - unfortunately they were charging high fees just to diagnose the issues that I was bringing the car in for (which is the first time Ive been asked to pay first for the diagnosis and the actual cost of repair would be above and beyond the diagnosis fee). The repair fees were also higher than I expected but would have been fine given their good rep regarding service. I ended up taking my car to the dealer who essentially charged the same for the service but no additional diagnosis fee...and a loaner car. My dealer ended up doing an amazing job.

We have had our 2010 Mercedes GL 550 repaired several time with the fine folks at Import Motor Werks. Very reasonable price compared to dealerships and really top notch service. I would highly recommend to anybody needing import vehicle repairs.

Full transparency great service. I left my car the evening before and they called before 10:00 the next morning having already done the inspection and with a full list of what needed to be done. I could approve or decline any item. They took care of everything on the list by the time promised and I was back on the road with my car in good order.

Twice now Ive been to Import Motor Werks and twice Ive been completely satisfied. Another shop, which shall remain nameless, told me that my lower control arms were going bad (2014 Audi), so I brought it to IMW for a second opinion and they examined and saw no problems whatsoever! Because of this, IMW has my business. The other shop also told me that I needed an alignment, and IMW informed me that the wheel alignment was almost perfect, so there was no need. As a customer new to the area, this is priceless. Thanks IMW!

I’ve been going to Import Motor Werks for a couple of years now, for both my BMW and Audi. I’ve only ever had a positive experience. The staff is friendly and always forthcoming in assessing any service needs. Further, their price is competitive when compared to the same service at the dealer.I wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again and highly recommend them.

So, I am in the beginning of the process working with my warranty company and Import Motor Werks. So far, IMW has been amazing. Daniel took care of getting me set up and I sent my car over to them this morning 2/19/20. So far the professionalism was incredible. Daniel listened to my situation, explained the process to me from their end of things and was happy to work with me as I am with IMW. Im sure I could have had a dealer work with the warranty company but I wanted an independent than knows import cars. These folks seem like theyre it. Ill keep updating as the process rolls forward!! Not only did they properly diagnose my problem, but the owner suggested I take a loner car while they ordered the part so I could get home safely and back the next morning. Between a EXTREMELY friendly office staff and VERY thorough mechanics, I will be taking my Mazda to Sam and Matt for every issue I have in the future. I had taken my car to other shops who charged a ridiculously high diagnosis fee, then didnt find the problem. The prices here are great, honest work, and they remember your name while taking good care of your car!Amazing guys!!!

Just had my first - but not last - visit to Import Motor Werks for my 1999 Porsche 911. Very pleased. For about the same price I typically spend to just get my oil changed at the dealership, I had my oil changed, and then they checked out a concern with my brakes (let me know it was no problem even after I authorized an estimate of initial repairs), then replaced my faulty horn, as well as another issue. (I knew about my faulty horn, but had been putting off the fix because the repair at the dealership would have been more than this entire bill.) Last but definitely not least: I was provided a loaner, which has never been offered at the dealership, making the whole affair efficient and so little disruption to my own schedule.

We really did not know what was causing the noise on our SUV. The staff was thorough in their diagnosis and kept us informed. Their methods of communication (email and phone calls) were terrific. We would recommend this company to anyone.

I have had 2 good experiences with Import Motor Werks. Installed Tire Rack tires on one vehicle and service on another. Originally tried them due to the positive reviews and was not disappointed. Good communication and straightforward feedback without upsell. When you own an out-of-warranty Euro import, you need a good mechanic, and these guys fit the bill.

Top notch staff at IMW. They provided me a detailed quote before the work and kept me informed of the progress during the work. I would suggest to anyone that needs expert service done on their Japanese or German vehicle. I definitely will be a repeat customer.

Professional service with a great staff..

I have used this shop in the past for my Audi and have been overall satisfied. Prices were a bit higher then others, but the service was good. I was there for some work 7 months ago and they did a routine inspection and told me that both my front and rear breaks need to get replaced. The rear ones I was told are at a dangerous level and need to get replaced in the next week or two otherwise may cause significant safety issues with aggressive highway breaking. I’m not a novice and went to go get a second opinion from another shop (btw, also went to the dealer and they said the same thing). I was told I was fine for a while. Being proactive it’s now 7 months later (my indicators still haven’t gone off) and only now I’m waiting at the other shop to get the rear brakes replaced. The front are still fine.Quote from a google search - “Most pads start their life with about 12 mm of friction material, and most mechanics suggest replacing them when they get to 3 or 4 mm.” My front ones were just measured (7 months later) and are still at 6 mm - at 50%!!!You have lost my trust Import Motor Works! Trying to perform unnecessary service and trying to scare someone with a safety concern is not a way to do business. Anyone going here and told that their breaks need replacing should go seek another opinion first.

Import Motor Werks is always great. We have been taking all of our cars there for about 3 years and their service is always excellent. With import luxury cars, service and repair are always going to be comparatively expensive, especially at a dealer. IMW is always reasonable, the work is always exceptional and they will tell you what needs to be done and what can wait. You can tell that they take pride in their work and really care about their customers.

Michael and the team at IMW as worked with me on several occasions and the result has been exceptional each time. They have worked with me on my BMW, MB, and Porsche cars. Most recently they managed a long list of maintenance items on my X5 diesel, getting it ready just in time for a long trip. I got regular updates and everything was done according to budget.
