I was driving through Downtown Cary on a rainy day when my low tire pressure light came on. Pulled over and saw a screw in my tire. I knew the Frantz shop was just a couple blocks away, although had never been there previously. Upon arriving, Jordan greeted me and could not have been nicer. In less than 25 minutes the tire had been plugged at a very reasonable price and I was back on my way. They set a great example of customer service that’s hard to beat! Thanks!

I have gone to Frantz a number of times for different reasons. Oil change, exhaust work, inspections. They have a great staff and are very good at what they do. Reasonable prices, and are very chill with work. I have had times where they have done work on my car, such as investigating issues, and when found nothing, not charged me. Which is great to see. Some places will charge diagnostic fees even if nothing is found, but not Frantz. Very amicable people. Family run, this location is. Would high reccommend.

Get my car inspection done from here. They are overall pretty organized and nice. Not sure on how they actually repair things. Decor is nice!

Worst experience Ive ever had when it came to customer etiquette. They were rude and very disinterested in my business. They barely spoke to me and when I finally got my car finished from getting an inspection I did not receive a single call for me to come pick it up. Mind you it was raining and I had my brand new puppy with me. These people are more about their money then their service. A simple inspection and I waited for 2 hours till it was finally done. (Only finding out after coming back to check on it.) They say they are dog friendly but I received dirty looks when I brought my puppy in so I had to take him outside in the rain and walk him through down town cary. This is not a very friendly auto shop. They over charge and dont treat younger customers with any respect. I wish I could give zero stars. This is the worst auto shop in Cary and my father is a master diesel mechanic and could have done what they were supposed to do in 30 minutes! Your better off going to Atlantic Tire or another Auto Shop of your choosing. I WILL NEVER SUGGEST THIS AUTO SHOP AND I WILL MAKE SURE TO LET EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT HOW AWFUL IT IS. Could not even complete a simple inspection with in a reasonable time, Rude, NOT DOG FRIENDLY and they wonder why I didnt come back for any more work. Simple task cant get done so why trust them with the rest of my Vehicle?

After using methods of deduction and common sense, they were able to pinpoint either the power distribution module or PCM. Unfortunately, it wasnt the distribution module and it could not be returned, but they were able to find a used PCM in excellent condition. I work on cars as a hobby and they were happy to listen to my input. They communicated great with me and my family and made sure we were informed of anything that would cost more money. They inspected, adjusted, and replaced a few other components and they installed an Interstate battery (which for those of you who dont know what the best battery is... its Interstate!). Considering they gave their attention to this vehicle over an entire work month, the price was more than decent and it goes to show that once you find a mechanic you trust it is worth doing business with them.We can confidently recommend Frantz Automotive to anyone who is in need of a mechanic no matter how much you know about cars. Ive been bringing my cars here for years. They do honest work and appear to be family run. Ive seen the same employees for nearly a decade.On my last visit, I asked them to change my engine coolant, but they first checked their records and saw I didnt need it as they recently changed it. They could have taken my money and if never know, but they instead decided to do the honest thing.

I have been utilizing Frantz for many years and they have serviced my cars ranging from my 2003 Ford Expedition to 1991 Trooper--and my family Odyssey. I believe them to be honest, and I have never been surprised by unauthorized service or a bill outside of the estimate. And, I highly value their excellent customer service and communication.

They are super friendly and explain everything to you. Its appreciated if you dont know a lot about cars. I go here for all my non-warranty car stuff. I usually deal with Daryl or the blonde kid (maybe the son), and theyre both pretty awesome. I found this place when I first moved to Raleigh and I still go here 8 years later.

Ive been going to this place since I was 16. Hands down the best auto shop Ive ever been to. I moved three hours away and still drove my car back here to get serviced. They do an excellent job and have incredibly fair prices and are very transparent about their services.

They dont overcharge, and they treat customers well. The employees seem happy.

Never trying to do more than was needed, always professional and extremely pleasant, and answering every question without hesitation. Honest and straightforward, always getting you in as soon as they can and keeping you informed of their progress. Their owner is often working in the office right beside her staff, smiling all the while. :)

Frantz automotive center is the kind of place that you can take all your vehicles to get great service. With teens in the house we have six cars trucks and Suvs in total and they have taken care of each and every one of them with expert care for 20 years now. Anytime I have a question they are right there with an answer. They have saved us money over the years by helping us decide what has to be fixed and what can wait. Over the years Ive sent so many people to them and they have all them pleased as well.

Frantz was simply awesome. I have a fairly rare antique that unfortunately got a gas leak. Most garages I called wouldnt even take a look. Frantz not only was happy to take a look; they listened to me, and when they couldnt initially reproduce the problem, kept at it until they did and fixed it. I will absolutely be using them for any future work on the car, and can heartily recommend them for automotive repairs.

I love the Frantz team, theyre always friendly and are highly professional while still feeling like a small town mechanic. Ive been taking my car there for 2+ years, most recently I had my AC completely serviced and its blowing so cold now I have completely forgotten what setting wont freeze me out.

Just went here to get the oil changed in my car-- I want to support local businesses. Previously, I had been going to a larger brand for my oil changes. For the same price as an oil change at the larger brand, Frantz changed my oil, checked and fixed my tire pressure, and checked all of my fluid levels. The staff was super friendly, too!I do suggest calling ahead of time to set an appointment. Otherwise, you will have a longer wait as a walk-in customer.

Ive done business with Frantz automotive for many years. Ive never been disappointed - and Ive never been oversold as some automotive shops are fond of doing. This is one of the three places that I will allow to work on my cars as I trust them explicitly.

I normally do my own car repair/maintenance, but since you can’t do a state inspection yourself, I have been to this shop about six times. They have always been friendly and efficient. I make an appointment and they tend to turn around in ~30 minutes. During that 30 minutes, I get to hear them talk to a lot of other customers that don’t have a clue about cars. They are good at explaining intimidating problems in simple terms without pressuring people into unnecessary parts/services.

Frantz is the best place to go in Cary for your automotive repairs. My family has been going to them for the past 10 years for everything from oil changes to transmission repairs. Honest mechanics that never try to sell you some thing you dont need (like some other garages in town) and their prices are fair.

I once needed to have a vehicle inspection and was quoted $45 for 45 minutes work. In fact, I found the real work was about 20 minutes only (because I saw the time it was taken in and out). However, I was there for more than 1 hour! Do you want to know where the longest time is? Waiting for the result. Do you think it is because too many customers? Absolutely no. There was only 1 customer before me when I came in and she has gone already. I have no idea what they were doing but absolutely there was no other customer left except me (because they were about to close). Do you think because I was coming late? No, I came exactly the same time with my appointment time. The lady is also not nice and not friendly. I decided not to fix my car with them and go with other car service provider because as a customer I dont like being ignored.

Ive been on the planet a long time, and have experienced lots of mechanic nightmares, but never with Frantz. They are the most professional, class-act operation I have ever experienced. Family owned and operated, they are an absolute diamond. As a result, my entire family (myself & my 3 adult children) have been coming to Frantz for over 25 years!

I always take my car here without fail. They are kind, courteous, and always keep you updated on the work you are having done on your car. I dont know much about cars, but they always explain what is wrong and how they will fix it and the cost. There is never any disrespect or a condescending tone. Fantastic place, fantastic people!!

Completed work on my 2003 Ford Expedition. Replaced Fuel Pump(etc.), Idle Control Valve and vacuum leak. High $ value repair (competitive quote) and they did a lot of work too. Completed on time and no surprises. Idle was not working correctly(idling high) when I picked up but they said it should calm down after I drive it around. Drove it a couple hundred miles, still a problem. I carried it back and they cheerfully replaced it, no excuses, questions or additional $. Great place, professional and friendly.

Excellent experience and my babys new transmission works great! They really do a good job at explaining all the details and the price was less than quoted elsewhere and I got a three year warranty on the repair. I would recommend Frantz Automotive to anyone.

On my way to work my car began to run hotter than normal and I lost heat out of the vents. A friend recommended I call Frantz Automotive to see what I should do. They suggested I check the coolant level before driving the car any more which I did. Low and behold they were right, the coolant level was low. I added some water and drove straight to them. They checked it out and found a leak at the radiator. They replaced my radiator and flushed the cooling system and my car works great and I have heat again!The mechanic took the time to explain to me what was wrong and what needed to be done and they were all very friendly. I will be using Frantz Automotive for all my car repair needs in the future. Great service!

We take all our cars here and have for years. The latest oddball thing to happen to my used CRV had been going on intermittently for months. Finally one morning on the way to work it started acting up and I just pulled into Frantz. The fellow stopped what he was doing and jumped into my car and diagnosed it on the spot. I was so impressed, and he was right! They fixed it that day and my stalling and sputtering and lurching stopped for good. They do good work, and they explain everything. Prices seem fair to me.

I came here for an oil change and for them to check my brakes because they started squeaking. They called me later saying my rotors were real bad and that it would cost $340 parts and labor. I told them to hold off on that and just do the oil change. When I came back to pay, they warned me about how bad my brakes were and I was really appreciative of how concerned they seemed. The next day I took my car to my dads favorite auto shop...they said the rotors were still good and I just needed the brake pads replaced which cost me less than half of what Frantz quoted me. Im just disappointed because, as a woman, I feel as though these places try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge.

Buyer beware! I had a very straight forward repair. After reviewing the car, they quoted me a price to fix the problem. But after making the repair, they charged me $60 more than what they originally quoted. The person at the counter had no explanation for why they charged more and there was no additional problems stated on the ticket. If you use this shop, be sure to GET YOUR REPAIR ESTIMATE IN WRITING and confirm with them that the quote is a DRIVE OUT PRICE. If my case, they gave a verbal.

Went there for just an oil change and inspection 7 months ago. Told me that my brakes were in desperate need of replacement and that my car wouldn’t pass another inspection. Was skeptical because I didn’t feel any slip in the brakes but they were squeaky. Got a second opinion 7 months later who said that there was PLENTY of pad left on my brakes and posed no danger. So yeah, I won’t be going back.

This is a family-owned business. I have been a regular customer for seven years, and I see the same faces each time I go. The waiting room is low on amenities, but they are good honest people who have saved us money over going to the dealer more than once for significant repairs.

Made appointment for 3:30, said it would take an hour. Was done in 40 mins. I was getting a potential car looked at. They told me they looked for the smallest problem.with my car and couldnt find anything. They were not looking to scam.me into more business which makes me want to drive out there for future needs but hopefully wont need to haha
