I highly recommend not going here. Been to many mechanic shops...some better than others. This one was the worst. Overcharged for an oil change, the guy on the phone was not friendly and the lady at the desk was more concerned about other things than making sure about my car. Take your car somewhere else...PLEASE!!

Everyone that Ive spoken with at Firehouse is very honest and reliable. They will only do the work that you ask them to do, and they have always given me their honest advice about my car, which is especially appreciated for an old beater vehicle. Very confusing as to where to go. No one came out to help either. I turned into the garage area and the lady just angrily gestured at me to go around to the lot next door. She didn’t even ask what I needed. The lot was tiny and completely full and no one gave me any instruction as to how and where to leave my car. As I was trying to turn around in the tiny lot an employee was bringing a car around from the garage. I clearly looked lost but instead of helping me he just honked the horn and proceeded to park the car and go back to the garage. Completely unprofessional and confusing. I will never take my car here and I am much more willing to drive the extra 15 min for a better place.

Had a couple engine parts repaired. Their prices where competitive but ends up the repair was bad and leaking oil now. After the service I noticed grease, on my seat, floor carpeting, and all over the side of car where they needed to work. They obviously are sloppy mechanics and probably explains why the repairs also failed. Decided I am done with them to service my cars in the future.

Their hours have changed due to COVID-19. If we call after hours we will not be able to talk to anyone until the next working day they are able to reply to the voicemails. I made an appointment online which was not honored. I was never contacted by the shop to let me know they could not perform the service so I ended up driving 25 mins to the shop for nothing. Upon arriving, the young lady at the front desk did not greet me and gave me a look that was very off putting. The way she spoke to me was also rude and the other person waiting in the lobby also noticed her behavior and made a comment about it. I understand that jobs can be stressful but as someone who also works in the service industry, we need to remember to be kind to our clients. I was given a quote and sent away but decided to not give them my business due to the mistreatment. I went to Durham Tire and was in and out and treated with respect.

Dont waste your time/money there! No professionalism/passion at all! They say they fixed the power steering pump and while I was driving back home the steering wheel got stuck/hard in the middle of a curve. Car mechanic forgot to put oil back into the pump. So, I had to take it back there. Second time that got Fixed couple days after I saw power steering pump fluid in my driveway still. So, I brought it back for the 3rd time!! and til this day they didnt fix the pressure line from the power steering pump 100%. They said that they have to clean the engine to localized the rest of the leaks - engine still looks very grease.

When the AC for my Honda stopped blowing cold air and a rhythmic whirring/thumping sound started coming from one of the wheel wells, I made an appointment with Firehouse. They diagnosed the issues quickly and called me to update and ask what I wanted done with estimates ready. I ended up paying far less than Id expected for good quality work and my car was ready by that afternoon. Absolutely thrilled with the results. (My AC is nice and ice-cold again)

Made an appointment for a check-up over a wheel-bearing concern I had. Took less than an hour. Group of great mechanics that genuinely care about the safety of the customers, as well as the reliability of the vehicle. As I waited to pick up my car, I overheard some mechanics talking about another vehicles issue and could tell they were trying everything they could to keep their work quality high while still providing best cost to the customer, while ensuring the vehicle is safe on the road.

What a dreadful first experience. First of all they do not honor online appointment. I made an online appointment and they say that doesnt work. Whats the point of having it on your website then??Secondly the young guy on the reception is extremely rude as if someone forced him to sit and work. No sense of customer service at all. I wonder why such people work in customer service who dont know anything about it. I would never visit this place again. Total waste of time.

I love this place! The staff is always super friendly and cares to have a conversation every now and then. I had an issue with a side mirror that had broken off on an old model car that they didn’t have in stock. Instead of just sending me away with a “sorry can’t help” the guy called several other places and ended up finding one that same day! I have seen and heard people give these guys a hard time over pricing and time spent but obviously you couldn’t fix it yourself so pay up for the hard work they did and stop complaining. You have to understand that these guys get swarms of people everyday with only so many guys and space to work. It is OK to have to wait. Having an attitude about it doesn’t speed up a thing.I highly recommend these guys!!

When a manufacturers defect on an O-ring resulted in an oil leak after an oil change, the shop sent a mechanic out to us, immediately, at 6pm in the evening, to replace the part and the lost oil, all for free. Weve been back once since then for a different issue, and got the surprising (for a car repair shop) answer that no additional work was needed. Great service and they seem very honest and decent. Highly recommend.

Small repair shop with a big conscience. I go here with my three vehicles for registration inspection and routine work on my oldest car. They consistently provide suggestions and DYI recommendations to save me money on expensive labor or repairs. What I cant fix, they take care of quickly and effectively.

This place has always been amazing for me. The staff is courteous, honest, and quick. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.

Initially, I contacted the station during the week to get a quote to perform brake service (replacement of rotors and brake pads on both axles and brake fluid flush). Since I had all the parts, the gentleman quoted $220 to replace the rotors and brake pads and additional $40 to flush the brake fluid. Upon dropping off the car for repair he gave me an estimate of $282. However, at the pick up the cost increased to $357 dollars due to him forgetting to add the brake fluid flush service and it was performed w/o them contacting me to get an approval on additional charges. Other than that, the service was done within 4 hours and everything seems to be working properly.

These guys do great work. They are typically much cheaper than other quotes I get. I’ll only be bringing my vehicles to them from now on.

They didnt stop working in a strange noise on my cars engine until it was fixed, they got to the root of the problem and it was fixed on the same visit and all of that has their warranty, what else you want to ask? Theyre great and I highly recommend them.

I took my car to this shop with several little issues and worries. These guys were great in checking into each one of them and not making fixes or charging me for things that were not absolutely necessary. They were easy to deal with and an honest shop that Ill be happy to take my car to again the next time I need it serviced.

Wow, they were great, they diagnosed the problem with my windshield whiper reservoir that the dealer said had to have parts replaced. There was no problemto be fixed they determined. They got it done the same day quickly and at a very reasonable price. They really know their business and clearly take great pride in the work they do. Highly recommend. We will be back.

I got an oil change and look over this morning. They exceeded my expectations. They checked out the whole car and even helped me with a solution for my heavy load. They installed spacers that help my car ride excellent now. I highly recommend the Fire House Auto Repair.

Wow am I ever disappointed in Firehouse Auto Repairs LACK of good customer service. As I type this review, Ive been on hold for ten minutes for a simple question:Me: Hi, is Cecil there?Mechanic: Hes at the other shop, do you want that number?Me: You are on Carpenter Fire Station Road?Mechanic: YesMe: You can help me with a simple question. How much would you charge to change out the strut on a coil-over assembly if I brought both assemblies in (both removed from the vehicle already)?Mechanic: Let me find out from someone who is familiar with the pricing.Me: Appreciate it. Waiting.....5 minutes and still waiting on hold......10 minutes and still waiting on hold.....15 minutes on indefinite hold.This would have been EASY money for them. With their tools...5 minutes of work for each assembly and if they even charged me 1 labor hour, I would have been okay with it.Basically these guys are best for oil changes and smog/safety inspections. Beyond that your risking substandard work on something your life depends on while driving around for convenience of location. This area NEEDS a competing shop with integrity and better customer service. BTW, as I close this review, I will have been on hold for 20 minutes!!! Yea, Firehouse Auto Repair tanked on this one. Mind you, this was only a question.

Very good service - fast, fair (price), and friendly. Replaced 2 oxygen sensors on my moms 98 Ford Taurus; I brought the parts, they took care of the labor. In and out in < 1 hour, with no advance appointment. Really appreciate the service, would definitely go back.

They put the price for repair and spare parts for $500. Another service showed a breakdown - it was just a loose mount, fixed for $5. Perfect service if you want to be fooled. I believe that that the same happend with a lot 5* reviewers, but they just does not know about it.

Ok so you dont get: fancy decor, free coffee, nice lounge area, and anything else that comes with going to a dealer....So how can these guys charge more for the same service?! I was quoted $750 for a timing belt change and the dealership quoted me $740. I wanted to find an independent mechanic that was reasonably priced, but if the cost is more or near the same amount as a dealership, then I will take my $ to the dealership. I mean they cant have the same overhead as the dealers but want to charge the same price as one. Come on man.

I go to Firehouse Auto Repair mainly for minor repairs and NC Inspections for both my cars and my motorcycle. The manager and staff are always courteous and provide a timely service. I highly recommend them!

I discovered this business through my SIL whos a licensed mechanic. He had stopped in for something minor, overheard the owner on the phone with a customer, and after concluding his business, came to the conclusion that the owner was responsive to the needs of his customers, honest, and reasonably priced. What more can you ask for? Ive found this all to be true, and the owner has always stood behind his work. Ive been a regular customer now for almost five years, and would be hard pressed to even attempt to find another mechanic to equal my experience with Firehouse Auto Repair.

I dont know where to start. This auto repair shop is awesome! They do great work and at a great price. I always get a good quote. Bansi os my repairmen and is a very nice easy going guy. The shop is laid back and the work gets done fast! I dont go anywhere else but here for all my car care needs!

If you are searching for a top quality mechanic go here. They will fix whatever issue you need fixed. My wife and I have been coming here for the past 4 years. We randomly found it driving by one day and havent been disappointed with any service. They dont try to upsell you on products and are always straight forward with pricing.

We have been going to Firehouse for routine maintenance and repair of our vehicles. Their prices are lower than the dealerships and they do great work. I had an oil pan gasket replaced on my Toyota Camry and it was $100 cheaper than the dealership. I trust these guys and that says a LOT when you bring your car to someone to repair.

They made a crummy experience a better one. Been dealing with tag issue with the state and the dealership I bought the car with. After a long day in and out of the tag office I was told I had to get an inspection (Despite being told I didn’t need one before) They helped get me in and out quickly, were very friendly and helped me out when I didn’t have all the information I needed.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! They dont even deserve one star. Nasty people. They dont smile. They dont greet. They look mad and sound mad. They yelled at me just because I tried to park at wrong spot.

Great experience overall. I brought my car in for a noise that got worse over the last few weeks. They fixed the issue within hours and upon arrival they told me since it was such a minor repair that there would be no cost...Great people and I will be back if I have any more problems.

Had my 2001 vehicle inspected here, and was told it failed because the tint of the rear door window and the back window, come on, there is no after-manufacturer tint on the back window, how that can be failed. All the NC inspection regulation only ask for after-manufacture tint... overall, no pleasant. I admitted they were good before, but not anymore..

Cecil and his partners do a terrific job. Friendly, courteous, go the extra mile. Prices range from being fair to downright low.

Now service level has went from best to worse. No time for oil change because its not a large enough job for them to make money on. Its sad cause I really like this place because it was close to my home.

Please avoid Fire House Auto at all costs.I had an alternator go bad and had them replace it for $310. Price was great but from the day after it was replaced, there was an issue where my battery and brake lights on my dash would come on or flicker in unison.I was told by the main guy four times over the course of the next 1.5 years that the alternator was not the problem.Then, one day, I got stuck at home with a car that would not start because of it (battery was only half charged at this point) but was always told the alternator could not be the problem. Just for the record, the battery was swapped out the day before the alternator was replaced.After taking it to two different mechanics, they both told me that the alternator was failing and would randomly over charge, under charge, or not charge at all. Granted, they had to keep the tester on the car longer then a couple minutes to see the issue but that was more then what Fire House Auto had done for me.Even after I took this new information to Fire House Auto, they STILL refused to replace it. Looks like that lifetime warranty on parts doesnt mean anything.I had one of the other mechanics replace my alternator (for $430) and have not had an issue for over a month now. The third mechanic wanted $600 for a new one.They are liars and/or the most incompetent mechanics I have ever worked with. Save your time and money and go someplace else for your car service.
