I took our car in today to have a noise in the transmission diagnosed. The office manager was very friendly and professional. They kindly worked the car into their fully scheduled day, and provided a quick, honest diagnosis of no work needed at this time. I was completely satisfied with this visit, just as I was with my last visit when they replaced the transmission in our expedition. They have earned our trust.

However the pricing for labor can get sticky, but its quality work done by professionals, they can also recommend other places if your looking for custom work, the staff are amazing as well Joe is very kind!

I brought in my car to AAMCO (Cary) after getting a very high quote from the Chevy Dealership. I was really stressed out because the mechanic at the dealership said that my transmission needed to be replaced. After contacting Mr. Joe (the owner of AAMCO), he gave me a free diagnostic and helped me learn about all the issues with my truck. It was way cheaper than what I was quoted from the Chevy Dealership. He fixed my window (it was stuck down) and the alternator. It was way quicker than I expected! He did an awesome job and will use his services the next time I have another problem with my truck. Thank you so much for all of your help Mr. Joe!

I rarely give anyone a max positive review/evaluation but I couldn’t help but do so this time. I’ve had my 2013 Ford F-150 to a local Ford dealership and to a local independent repair shop that has been highly recommended by the locals in my community. Neither provided me with the results I needed.The Ford dealership was so expensive that it made no sense to go with them because they were so ambiguous about the mechanical problems I was having- especially when their cost estimate was 2-3 times what the local business and Mr. Hucks’ AAMCO estimated.I initially went local only to experience a very disappointing result. This repair shop damaged not only the parts that I purchased but did additional damage complicating my situation.I couldn’t deal with the results and went back to Mr. Hucks AAMCO shop and not only got the repair completed the same day I brought in my vehicle, he did it at far cheaper than the Ford dealership - about 35 percent less and at a cost only $35 more than my local repair shop.I can’t say enough positive comments about Joe Hucks, his technicians, and their customer service attitude.They will do all my vehicle repair work in the future!Bruce

They do a very good job and honest mechanics. It is very hard to find a one stop shop you can go with confidence, so I will keep bringing my vehicles here. Wide variety of standard services, plus able to do more intensive work. They will do some specialized jobs if you want to put on aftermarket parts or other things, so their flexibility on customer directed work is great and they will find a way to get it done.

On Monday I was driving home from work in my 2005 ford F150 when my transmission started slipping. I got an error code on the dash that read Trans Fault. I Barely made it home to my house in Holly Springs and checked the fluid and it was at the correct level. I have had a few transmissions clunk out on me in the past so I know exactly what the symptoms are. I called AAMCO in Cary and spoke with Matt. Matt was awesome, He did some troubleshooting with me over the phone and then recommended a tow service. I called the tow service on Monday left the key in the car and got a call from Matt on Tuesday. Matt explained in detail the work that was needed. It made perfect sense. Matt called me Wednesday and told me my truck was ready. I picked it up and it ran like a champ. I am giving 5 stars because the customer service I received was way over and beyond all expectations. I am giving 5 stars because the work done was sound, reliable and professional. I am giving 5 stars because Matt and AAMCO have Integrity. Excellent service, Highly recommend them.

Just went in to get something checked out, so I dont know the quality of work performed, but Joe was very helpful and had a respectful demeanor. So far, I recommend these guys.

The owner, Mr.Joe was very pleasant, however not honest. I took my car, a Jeep latitude there for a transmission check and the mechanic diagnosed something else, “engine mounts.” He confirmed 2 of the mounts were completely damaged and Only 1 was ok but with the wear and tears, he recommended replacing all 3 of them. I took his words for it. The total cost Was $1300 including service and labor. Impulsive decision I ok for the service to be done. I should have shopped around. Anyway, I was quoted for 4 hours labor but the car was come under 3 hours but he still charged me for 4 hours even after I brought it to his attention that it didn’t take the whole 4 hours to work on it then he turned around and said he had 2 of his mechanics work on the car (Lies!). Anyway, I did my research after the service was done and I was ROBBED. The average cost on this service around the area is roughly $800 or else if you buy the parts yourself and get a trusted mechanic to work on it. My advice to anyone before succumbing to a shop’s advice, do your research and shop around.

I had a good experience. Transmission needed replacing and Joe and the crew were quick about acquiring a remanufactured one and replacing it. I had no issues on the 50 minute drive home, vehicle ran like new. Totally would recommend AAMCO for anyone looking for a transmission shop.

My old Ford was leaking transmission fluid for over a year and none of the 3 mechanics who saw it was able to find the cause and fix it. As a last ditch effort before buying a new car, I took it to AAMCO, they found the problem, fixed it and did not charge me one penny. Excellent service and very professional guys!

I brought my 1999 truck in to have a small job done. I also asked them to give it a once-over because it’s a pretty old vehicle. They did the job I asked them to do pretty quickly and didn’t suggest any more work. I’m pretty sure a dishonest mechanic would have “found something”.

I am thankful for coming here. Ive never been to aamco but this location has trustworthy and honest employees. They answered all my questions thoroughly and took great care of my car at a reasonable price (unlike other places which will slip random fees!) Great place for all my auto needs. The manager was very helpful. My truck engine light came on over the weekend, they did a diagnosis and came back with a cylinder missfire. This happened to the truck a few weeks ago and I changed the parts myself but the truck really needed a tune up after the second check light. The manager recommended a full tune up to insure that the light would not come on again and gave me a fair price. He didnt try to sell me anything extra just what I needed. All in all very helpful, great pricing, and respectful. I will go to this location everytime for all my auto needs.

Great overall experience! Our car was in need of a new alternator and had lost all power steering abilities. I was at work and unable to transport the car to the shop, so AAMCO employees came to our home and drove the vehicle to their shop for us! Repairs were made within 2 hours, and the vehicle is running great again. We highly recommend them for any and all auto repairs.

I came to this AAMCO back in september and had some transmission work done under the old management. I was told I had leaks and that they had been repaired. Then 4 months later I was having transmission problems. Took my Jeep to the same AAMCO and was surprised to find out this AAMCO had changed leadership. Matt listened to what I had to say then lifted my jeep and took me under the Jeep and physically showed me what was wrong. I knew from there I was at the right place just from his attention to detail and can do attitude. He gave me a quote and the job ended up being larger than anticipated. However, instead of jacking up the price. Matt stuck to his word, gave me a large discount and I now have a jeep with an engine in excellent shape. Trustworthy, Attention to Detail, and Quality work is what you can expect from Matt and his team at AAMCO in Cary.

Matt has brought his amazing customer service from his other AAMCO and in his first day in the new location he is already proving his character and raising the bar of the store. We had a problem with our Highlander and he took our call at 10 pm and showed up early on Saturday and was able to help us out. Repair or Replace that is the question. I had to answer that question a few months ago. Matt made it real easy, mainly with his knowledge, enthusiasm, and honesty. Matt showed me what was wrong, gave me a price, and helped me calculate the total cost of repair verses new vehicle purchase. I can say Matts price might have been a four figure repair, replacing a transmission isnt cheap, but the alternative was spending five figures. Something I am really happy I didnt have to do. They diagnosed it, checked their records and realize that it was under warranty due to previous repair there (almost 2 years ago i think?) and ended up being covered.My car has 295K miles on it...Ill continue to use them. TL;DR: Great and honest service, highly recommendLong version: Stopped by to have a couple of issues with my wifes car checked out. They were quick to get my vehicle in the shop to take a look and then a test drive. I was invited into the garage to see what was diagnosed and they were upfront with their findings. I had mentioned a few potential causes for the issues, which some places take as an invitation to perform a repair regardless of need. These guys were honest and said while my ideas werent all wrong, those repairs werent needed (yet). Instead, all the car needed was a throttle body cleaning, which they did, free of charge! They then took it on another test drive to be sure the issues were resolved. They also performed a general mechanical inspection (without me even having to ask!) and told me everything pretty much looks great and nothing else needs to be done for now. They let me know what repairs may be needed in the future (e.g. clutch, motor mounts), based on the current condition and expected life of the parts. I know they were being honest about those future repair needs as I had noticed the same [minor] symptoms before I went there. The issues that prompted me to go in were, and still are resolved. I was truly impressed. They did not try to upsell, pressure me to do anything, or try to recommended unnecessary or premature repairs. If you want an honest mechanic, this is the place to visit.

After my transmission failed, and I was told by 4 separate auto shops that they couldnt work on my car, AAMCO saved the day. I had my car towed in, told them the problems I was having, and left it there. They got back to me promptly with the issues that they had found, and I gave them the go-ahead to do more in-depth diagnostics so they could tell me exactly what they were going to do and how much it would cost. They cut out some of the labor costs since the transmission wouldnt be in the way for a couple of the items they were fixing, and then completed the work ahead of schedule. A couple days after I got the car back, one of the sensors went bad, and since they warranty all of their work and parts, it was fixed the next day, free of charge. My car runs more smoothly than it has in years and it was all done at a reasonable price. I completely trust their work, and have already sent one of my friends to them when their car had problems. Justin is personable and accommodating, while making sure all of the work is top notch and on time. I cant express how much I recommend this AAMCO.

I was skeptical of AAMCO when I took my car to them. However, Justin turned me from a doubter to a believer. I really felt that Justin cared about me, and didnt just see me as a paying customer. He was very knowledgeable, honest, and up front with me. I would send anyone I knew who was having transmission problems to AAMCO, as long as Justin was the person in charge. THE DEFINITION OF GREAT SERVICEI took my car to AAMCO because i was having transmission problems with my 1999 BMW 3-series. Turns out the car was more expensive to fix than it was worth so I had scrap it. Despite the unfortunate result, I cannot express accurately in this small comment box how pleased i was with the service i received from Justin.
