So I stopped into the dealership yesterday. I was merely hoping to get a new car. Thanks to our Salesman Mike, Sales Manager Johnny B., and Finance guru Percy, I was able to drive off the lot with my first brand new vehicle. Also, shout out to salesman, Tommy for helping us, too. I am now a proud owner of a beautiful 2022 Hyundai Kona. The service is in incredible. They didnt push me and they did their best to give me a fantastic deal and they succeeded. Before I drove off the lot, Mike showed me all the features and today, (Sunday) he called to see how we enjoyed our drive home. Thank you to Johnson Hyundai of Cary. Johnson Hyundai used to be great. Today was just mediocre - corners are being cut.- Amenities like drinks and snacks are now bare ones.- The guest Wifi was down. It took me three people until I found someone who told me better than Not my job.- The technician tried to sell me on spark plug replacement even though I had it done 4 years ago and have not driven much since then. He only looked back into my history 3 years.-Minor gripe: less than half the staff was wearing masks.

After a frustrating experience navigating a lease buy-out at another area Hyundai dealer, I came to Johnson Hyundai of Cary. Ginger, Tommy, and Shareef made sure I had my first good experience at a car dealership. They were patient and sympathetic, taking the time to explain things clearly and simply without being pushy, manipulative, or condescending. I would rather make the 2-3x longer drive to this dealership than go to the one closest to me, and will be back for future car needs.
I am going to drop 2 names right up front. Damion, the salesman and Matt, the manager. Both of these guys went far beyond the usual car sales roles to make sure we could make a deal. I had a very unique situation in which I was trading a brand new vehicle I had bought from another dealer just 19 days prior. The other place was absolutely horrible. Matt really worked with us to get the trade value fair and Damion took it upon himself to go up the ladder to the general manager to get the price I wanted on the replacement brand new car. Everyone at Johnson Hyundai was extremely nice yet professional through the entire process. So Damion and Matt, if you see this, keep up the good work. TLDR version - Great customer service, friendly staff, and excellent effort to help meet my budget!After an accident at the beginning of February I was in need of a new vehicle. I had done all of the preliminary research and narrowing of the right car online before stepping foot into the dealerships, so when I started visiting locations I only had a few options in mind and I was mostly trying to get an idea what they would be costing me financially.The first few dealerships I went to said all the standard helpful scripts about the vehicles, but they pushed the need to do a credit check before going further. The first time, sure, I was considering the vehicle and I had no reference point for my score, but the other times (all within a week) were definitely unnecessary and hurting my score.Naturally I was on edge when I went to Johnson Hyundai. My salesman Diego understood where I was coming from and agreed to not hit my credit until I decided to go with a purchase from them. He graciously squeezed the first meeting with me in even though they were about to close, and he even brought the car to my home to see if it could make it down my rather steep driveway. I knew that was certainly an extra step that they didnt need to agree to, but it was a super friendly and helpful consideration that I really appreciated.When it came down to my final two choices, one being a far more affordable car from another dealer, or the more luxurious option from Johnson, Diego went to Julia in financing and they came back with a price that managed to squeeze into the window of my financing options, narrowing the difference tremendously. A few days later I was able to sign the final papers on a beautiful new car for an outstanding price!(Bonus points for letting me see my car with the bow on it. Thanks again!)
Awesome first time car buying experience!! Everyone was super friendly and low pressure, they just want to get you in what you want. They had the EXACT car I wanted at the right price!! The service people were helpful since it was my first time at this dealer (recently moved to the area). They explained everything, asked about previous service, and gave an accurate timeline for the work, which was reasonably priced. The only downside is the parking, other than that its a beautiful facility with a comfy waiting area.

The are too busy all the time. If you just need an oil change, they are great. If you need anything else done, it will cost you more than the car is worth and probably wont be done right the first time.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! I’ve never had such an easy, stress free car buying experience until now! Mike Nguyen was a great and ‘real’ car salesman! Didn’t over or under sale the vehicle and answered every question I had and addressed any issues in real time. In addition to Mike’s awesome customer service, James Edmonson was heaven sent!! I normally dread going from the sales floor to the financial office portion of the process due to all of the up selling and making me feel as if I NEED all of those extra packages! There was no pressure at all from Mr. James! In fact he educated me on the extra warranties that I did purchase, making me feel as if I didn’t make a decision I would later regret! In summary, because of these two gentlemen, I’ve finally made a used car purchase that I truly feel good about in every aspect! Thank you!

Its rare to shop for a car and have the experience I did Saturday! From the first person I talked to, Mack, to the receptionist, to Joseph Germany, my sales associate, I felt welcomed. Mr. Germany greeted me, along with his trainee, and from there the process was smooth. I explained everything I wanted and who I was pre-qualified with, and he was able to complete the deal! I cant remember the trainees name and I do apologize, but he also was very pleasant and insightful!! I will definitely come back to do business here again!!!

Then DAMION GREEN came and asked if I wanted more information. He went on explaining the unique features and functions in these models and the price range. Within 30 minutes, I was sold. I did a quick drive test and closed the deal the same day! DAMION is a soft-spoken and a very professional individual. You will not be disappointed.
I really really wanted to love this dealership, but I feel like it was so easy to take my money, but the communication is poor. Fletcher, not sure of his last name, is never available, so much so I’m exhausted of leaving voicemails. I’m still trying to figure out how a service department can make repairs on your vehicle, but not ensure that they actually work.I had an alternator replaced, on my vehicle, and I was impressed with the speed, I gave a list of repairs for my vehicle. THE MAIN REPAIR WAS THE DRIVER’S SEAT! Fletcher stated that it was repaired. The issue with my sear was it would recline but never go back up. I adjusted my seat, and the seat is back stuck in a recline state, it doesn’t move forward. I called on a Monday, fletcher stated that their would be any availability for repairs until that Friday.I had the driver’s side headlight fixed, but no one ever checked to make sure the the passenger side headlight worked, as it all of sudden does not hold the bulb properly, and if I happen to go over a speed bump the bulb pops out. My gas tank door would not open, I asked for that to be repaired, i have pull the lever inside the car for it to open.I asked that my brakes to be checked, he said they looked good, a few weeks later I was squeaking.I bought my vehicle used and it came with a electric remote car starter…I’m from the north, so purchase the vehicle when I lived up there as well. A remote car starters are a God sent for the cold mornings.It was 45 degrees this morning, I clicked the button for my car to turn on and heat up…sitting on cold leather isn’t fun! My car never turned on. I got in contact with fletcher finally today. He wasn’t knowledgeable, which is okay, and he would have to call me back.Fletcher’s tone always sounds annoyed. 3200.00 is a lot of money to spend. I love my vehicle and would be willing to spend it again, just not with Johnson Hyundai of Cary. I’m extremely disappointed with my service.Like my mother has always told me “if you do something RIGHT the first time, you will never have to go back to do it again. Do all things to the best of your ability”Because I’ll have to go elsewhere, I’m spending more out of pocket, and I’m losing time that I can never get back.

Absolutely without a doubt the best car buying experience I have had in the past 40 years! Michael Nguyen was the salesman who assisted me and he was fantastic. He gave me a solid price that didnt exceed the MSRP and a really fair trade in value for my used Elantra. I could not be happier.Michael went out of his way to get me the the exact car I wanted, which was no small feat considering it was a brand new model in short supply and high demand since its release. The all new 2022 Santa Cruz Limited in Hampton Grey.I spoke with seven different dealerships prior to speaking to Michael and they all told me the model and options I wanted were not yet available and they didnt know when they would be. Michael was able to pull up the model I wanted and make sure the vehicle was delivered with all the options I asked for.When the model showed up in their showroom almost a week earlier than planned, he contacted me back immediately and I was able to pick it up early. Even after the factory goofed and shipped my truck without the floormats, Michael arranged to have them delivered to my doorstep with no hassle, despite the fact that I live over 1 1/2 hours away from the dealership.The customer service I received from the entire staff was top notch and every person should be commended for the outstanding customer service they provided.I have bought 6 Hyundai vehicles now to date, and will never shop at another car dealer except for Johnson Hyundai of Cary. I bought my first new car here. My sales person was Michael Nguyen. This guy has a relaxed and transparent approach that made the entire experience enjoyable. He is a valuable asset to the team and they should give him a pay raise. I would 100% recommend doing business with this guy.I researched/calculated pricing and tactics weeks before I got there. I did not see any shady red flags or sneaky low value products hidden in the invoice. I was also given a price about 1000 under my most optimistic price numbers.The finance office was also transparent and relaxed. I pointed out and minor clerical error on the contract and it was handled very quickly and professionally. Not a dig, but just pointing out how relaxed and non-adversarial the whole deal was.Big take away: I dont usually write reviews but I liked my experience here so much that I had no choice.
I had such a great experience purchasing a 2016 used sonata here. Joe Potter was extremely helpful and I would recommend any first time buyers to go see him! We are looking to buy an SUV and We wanted to test drive a genesis GV80, I called up dealership on Sunday morning for a test drive on same day and Hyundai specialist scheduled an appointment at 4pm, the genesis specialist DIDN’T EVEN LOOK AT US AND GREET while we were looking around the car, they made us wait till 4:50 and finally the Hyundai specialist goes - genesis is not letting him test drive with us and we have to schedule appointment for another day. Such a waste of our time.(50 minutes on a Sunday).Terrible customer experience from genesis, I am not going to this dealership again whatsoever.

Great Dealership, All the sales people I dealt with when shopping for my Santa Fe were knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful. Initially using the Costco auto program, I spent lots of time researching on the internet, and Phil Guins and Mac from internet sales were very quick and responsive on email and phone, to help us narrow down SF models and price. When it came time to visit the dealership, our salesman, Joe Potter, who is knowledgeable and very personable, helped us get into the SF model we wanted and get us a deal on our trade-in to meet our budget. I appreciate Joe working diligently w/ his managers, Frank I. and Matt B., helping us work out a fair deal. The financing process was smooth, James E. is, straightforward, honest and pleasure to work with! Even the new customer education (Ayden) walked us thru all the fancy, new tech features, of the Santa Fe, he was patient and knowledgeable and helped us understand how to use them! Although the dealership is small and tough to drive in/out of, theyre working on expanding, hopefully soon. My wife and I are happy with the Santa Fe, and we highly recommend Johnson Hyundai for your deal! They even put a bow on the vehicle for your family picture! :->

He also kept us up to date while our vehicle was ready and everything was on time. He also went above and beyond with helping us move our things into our new car from our old one. He worked with us every step of the way. He also saved us time by working on paperwork ahead of time so all we had to do was sign. Update: Just spoke with a few people that went to johnston of wake forest for the same type of engine work and both got loaner cars immediately. I asked Cary many times for a loaner and was dismissed without a second though, I don’t believe that they were out, I just believe that they don’t care just like they didn’t care to take the time to update me about my car they weren’t even going to call me and let me know that my car was almost done, I had to call them and luckily I did before paying another week on my rental….Came in for the engine recal/theta engine lawsuit to get an engine replaced. It took a while, but that’s not the dealerships fault.Randy, the service manager was great and the woman that answers the service line was great, would have been 5 stars except for the very poor communication and the fact that they don’t have any loner cars and Hyundai is only reimbursing about 45% (if they even do that) of a 6k rental bill (not happy about that at all, very bad customer appreciation on Hyundai’s side since they sold their cars with known engine defects)..I may never buy a Hyundai again as I have zero trust for the Hyundai brand after this nightmare..

We have bought three vehicles from Johnson Hyundai without many issues. The only downside to this last time was having to spend six hours at the dealership. There has to be a better way to streamline the process. I didnt go there intending to buy a car but they offered me a great deal on my trade in and put me in a brand new vehicle with more options than I previous had. This last time our salesman Nick was great. Personable and not your typical car salesman. Facilities were clean and I felt comfortable being there during a time where were dealing with a pandemic. Everyone wore their masks which was good since I was there for six hours. Definitely recommend Johnson Hyundai.

I would have to say Johnson Hyundai is top notch. I purchased a used Rogue in November of 2020. After driving it a week it was time to gas up. I noticed the gas door didnt open when you hit the gas door button. Called my sales rep Joe Porter and he told me right away to bring it back and they will check it out. I also had a water in the spare tire area. They fixed the gas door and checked the water issue. I thought everything was dandy until a few months later now we are in February and the spare area is full of water again. Most dealerships after you drive off with a used vehicle thats it. But not these guys. I reached back out to Joe Porter and he worked with his manager and told me to bring it back. I have to say they are taking care of their customers. We are here today. Lets see what opens. Stay tuned. So far very impressed.
I am a proud repeat customer of this business, and heres why: they are easily the most considerate sales and service team in my area. I recently had a situation where I had to purchase new vehicle (a long story for another time). Buying a car is a dreaded, long process for most of us. My sales associate - Joe Germany - was outstanding. He listened to what I wanted. He didnt try to pressure me or sell me anything I didnt need. He was patient with my desire to see multiple vehicles, and he provided good conversation for the wait times. Shareef in finance made sure things ran smoothly, and he was patient with me as we closed our deal after hours. On the service side of things, there is no service department Id rather use. They are the reason I go 30 minutes from home to get my car worked on. They are honest with customers, and they are fair. While the most recent reason I had to take a car in was completely my fault (again, a story for another time), David Ivy was a great communicator, and he was honest with me concerning the state of my vehicle and its repair. I cannot recommend this business enough.

My husband and I went to Johnson Hyundai of Cary and saw Gustavo Cavalheiro in sales. We were looking for a Tuscan or a Sante fe at this store. We ended up buying a Sante Fe that had just been delivered. Gustavo is the sales man to see. He didnt hurry us along he chatted with us to make sure this was the vehicle we wanted to get and made sure he got us the best monthly pmt possible. He made sure we werent there all day either (I always hate buying a car because of the all day thing). I am sure there are other good sales people at this place but if go here but I believe Gustavo is the best person to see.
This review is solely and only for the exceptional service that Garrett Edwards always provides. Every time we bring our car to him, he goes above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need taken care of. I believe the dealership overall has some things to improve but Garrett is definitely an outstanding service member, I highly recommend you request him to make sure things get done the way they are supposed to!
Working an out of state deal can be a challenge at times. With all business communication is key when making a deal and it appears we have worked that out and these guys have shown great growth. Hoping that the rest of the transaction goes great, will update at end once everything is complete.

Im not at all satisfied with hyundai my car has been sitting in their shop for over two months and still is number 14 to be repaired. . I was told by the case manager my car still will not be ready for another month.. Theres no loner cars available Ive missed several doctors appointment and my quality of life is non existing without my car depending on other people to assist me. I am totally dissatisfied with hyundai and Im hoping that they treat their customers better in the future with more understanding
I was looking for a used Hyundai and saw some online at Johnson Hyundai and decided to go on Saturday afternoon. They were busy, but I was greeted immediately. We were paired with Diego Lopez as our sales agent. He asked questions and was able to recommend models and options that I was looking for. He worked very hard to find me the Hyundai that was perfect for me. I would shop at Johnson Hyundai in the future and I hope Diego will be working there then because I would definitely ask for his assistance.

What a team! Very satisfied new customer here. Made the 2 1/2 hour drive down from Richmond Va, and it was well worth it. Of course we got a very good deal on a slightly used Ford Explorer, but the service these guys provided is what sealed the deal for my wife and I.Jackie seems to be the one who handles their internet sales, and she made it happen for us! False advertisement here: Discovered 2 used vehicles online at this location. Scheduled appointment for a friend to assist them with vehicle purchase and test drive. Showed up for 1pm appointment. Nobody had logged the appointment for starters. Waited for a half hour for them to tell me the primary vehicle was sold and then they had to locate the other and wait for them to get it. First hour wasted. Friend liked the car beyond test drive. Requested quote. It was $500 over what was shown online just that morning. Offer was made for OTD price less the $500 or basically advertised price. Also found math voo-doo with quoted interest rate as well after loan application was approved. Sales Mgr declined offer. I previously purchased a 2019 Tucson Ultimate here 2 years ago in addition to this. They are #1 Hyundai dealer in NC simply b/c of where they are located. No other reason. I will not do any repeat business here and will be flipping my Tucson elsewhere. Beware of the Johnson dealer umbrella and spend your money elsewhere. They evidently dont appreciate a loyal customer base.
Bought a car there and the salesman was Damion Green.When you get there ask for Damion. He was honest, polite, caring and never did I feel any pressure from him.I wont tell what day he is off because he came in on his day off to finalize the deal and I didnt know it was his day off.The man has character and morals that outshine any salesperson I have ever dealt with.So do yourself a favor, you buy a car from Johnson Hyundai, you ask for Damion when you come through the door, you will not regret it.

We had a great experience purchasing our new Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. The car I wanted was available and ready for us within 24 hours of our first visit. Our Salesperson, Joe Potter, was knowledgable, efficient and most accommodating. He seemed to be just an all around nice guy. He is a credit to Johnson Hyundai and they should be grateful to have him as an employee. .Most of all I love my new Hyundai.

They helped my husband purchase a GMC that he was interested in. Service was nice. Our sales agent made an error however when it was almost time to finish the sale and the finance department ended up doing their best to help us.
Beware of the parking lot when visiting the dealership for service. There is a small lane serving as a single flow passage with techs zipping by to move vehicles. Parking is tight further compounded by the number of customers visiting the showroom versers dropping off their vehicle for service. If your service appointment is before 9 am expect a skeleton crew to greet you. Also, the appointment is not an agreement to do work, it only serves to reserve your spot in the line of others awaiting repair. It helps to call the day before and verify your appointment and verify the work to be done. Communication between departments alerting the customer is ineffective compared to other dealerships. Expect issues to arise.
Honestly this has been the most frustrating experience I’ve had. My passenger window of my Hyundai Tucson suddenly stopped working and wouldn’t roll up. I called immediately and they told me they couldn’t get me in for an entire week, I tried asking for an earlier appointment because I knew they would have to order a part and then I would have to wait for it to come in and make another appointment. They didn’t have any availability and what do you know? They needed to order a part. I voiced my concerns and the representative ensured me I would be able to get an appointment as soon as the part comes in. Fast forward to today when I get a call that my part has come in and I need to make an appointment to install it. They immediately tell me they are fully booked for another week even though I was ensured I’d be able to get an appointment as soon as the part came in.
Joe Potter was an exceptional sales person. He helped in every aspect of the purchase. Julia in finance was exceptional as well.Johnson Motors was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish.

Im not sure what details I can share from this exchange, but I appreciate that the experienced senior staff were able to, for the same car, give me a higher trim than I came for, offer me a lower price than I was expecting to pay on the lower trim, and with a lower monthly payment as well. Based on the prices listed on their own website and elsewhere, the original price on an eleantra SE seemed like a fair deal. Getting an SEL trim instead for a better deal doesnt make sense to me, but Im happy with the car so far.

I previously purchased a 2016 Sante Fe brand new in 2016, fast forward to 2021, I was having an issue with my car and decided to go back to Johnson Hyundai in Cary to purchase another car. The salesmen Phillip Guins and Joseph Potter, helped me out a lot with my purchase! They made the transition and upgrade to a 2021 Sante Fe flawless from start to finish. Truly one of the worst car buying experiences of my life. I called yesterday with money in hand to buy a car for my mother but they were closing, so i scheduled a appointment today to test drive the car and buy it. Drove a hr and half with my mother to get the car. Arrived 15min earlier than my appointment only to be told they sold the car late last night while we were sleeping????? Im not completely disappointed bc they sold the car, things happen...however the lack of professionalism as far as contacting us to keep us from wasting our time or even showing us more compassion for the mistake they made would of been welcomed, but we were greeted with a quiet apology and no further help. Ill never buy a car from this place or its affiliates. I rather shop with people instead of a cold machine.

Came in a week ago to look into some of the car that they had in stock. Worked with Tommy throughout the entire day. Tommy was great in making sure that I left that day with a great vehicule that fitted all of my needs. You might be reading this while you are sitting at Joe Potter’s desk and let me tell you that you will not be disappointed! Car salesmen have a bad reputation (and in past experiences I can see why) however, that is not the case with Joe! My husband and I like to gather as much information as possible before making any purchase (even going to the grocery store we do our research!) and Joe made it so easy by explaining everything to us! He was very upfront about the vehicles, how the process works, talking down the vehicle price, buying new vs used, what pre owned means, and he even rationalized to me why a sunroof might not be a deciding factor! He was so easy to work with and I would 100% buy another vehicle from him! I’ve heard of horror stories and this was far from it! We came in wanting to see a specific used Tucson and it wasn’t available. Joe went out of his way to show us different options and compare the different years. He was great at reading what we really wanted from the car and my excitement when I saw the sunroof and look of the 2018! He is great at his job and takes pride in it. If you are reading this from home, ask for Joe Before You Go! And if you really are reading this from his desk, I am very happy for you, you are in great hands!

Terrible service here! We met with Michael Nguyen and he acted as if we were intruding. He was very impatient with us and only responded in short answers with nothing to follow up. Being unprofessional, he said “I think that’s not what you are looking for, this is even bigger” without even having us look at it. When we asked about preordering cars, he said that nothing will be available until September, as if he wasn’t trying to sell us a car. He was very judgmental and wouldn’t let us have an opinion on things about what car we wanted. When I asked about the sports cars, he looked at me as if I wouldn’t be able to afford it. Will NEVER return here.

Nick sold me a 2021 Hyundai Elantra. My daughter and I walked into the dealership at 5 pm and everything was taken care of by 7. They gave me a fair deal on my trade-in. Nick did a great job explaining all of the car’s features which are extensive. He sat in the car with me and went through everything that I needed to know. I drove out with the car that night. Good sales team, but the worse parts/service department ever.I have got recall in December 2021, today is mid of May and Recall still wasnt resolved. Finally Ive got an appointment for recall scheduled almost 2 weeks before an appointment. And I got a call a day before my appointment and they told me that they ran out of parts. I was waiting this appointment 5 months, and they are ran out of parts a day before. If you are scheduling an appointments for your customers, why you dont reserve that part for exact customer, if you got 100 parts for recall available, just schedule an appointments for 100 customers. Then you wont have disappointed customers as me. So now, again you dont have parts and you have no idea when it will be available. And I have to keep my new car outside because of recall and fire risk. My wife driving this car to transfer my kids to school, e.t.c. So Im very very disappointed. And Im pretty sure nobody is going to call me and resolve this situation asap, because they are only dealership not the manufacturer who can make this parts available for customers. But what you CAN DO is reserve parts for customers when you scheduling an appointments. Because its looks like you replaced parts to walk in customers, not those who had an scheduled appointment.

In the midst of the pandemic, the staff were all observing measures that made me feel safe as I shopped for a much-needed upgrade. Best car buying experience that Ive had ever. There was easy communication through email about the vehicle including a transparent listing of the breakdown of costs, fees, etc. Joe was my sales associate and he went above and beyond! He brought the car to me for a test drive and I decided I loved the car but just not that one. He then took my car back to the dealership to get it appraised and came back with the other car I picked on the lot to swap it out so I could buy the one that fit me the best. He was super patient through all of it. I appreciate the customer service and effort put out by all of the employees of Johnson Hyundai that I worked with through this process. I got a great new car and I didnt have to go to the dealership at all. Wonderful!
