I needed a battery. The service shop employees were polite, knowledgeable, professional, friendly and extremely helpful. The wait time was quicker than I expected. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the battery was a bit on the expensive side.
My tire sensor went off and this place was able to check out my tires very quickly and get me back on the road. Many Thanks.

It’s hard enough durning Covid to get to get things done when you work and the simple fact I was at the door at 4:55 to exchange a light bulb and called and told him I’m in the front and you close the door 5 mins before you actually close and I’m standing outside is ridiculous. You sold me the wrong bulb AFTER you looked it up and I turn around and get there 5 mins before you closed to get the correct bulb that was given to me wrong and then didn’t even try to fix the situation. I worked in retail before and have worked with a team who have gotten in trouble for closing earlier than the posted time. But of course nothing will get done as usual.
I thought Pep Boys had parts only for american cars, and I was surprised to find some injectors gaskets there for my 99 toyota corolla, because toyota dealer didnt have them and told me they dont stock parts for old cars, Thank you Pep Boys for saving me a lot of money!!
Got a nail in our tire at 4 pm about to head home on a 3 hr drive. And the head mechanic turned us down with hostility saying they were closed. All the bay doors were open and there were still mechanics inside.

These people aren’t helpful or have good Character. I had walked in and seen they were on the computer. I waited patiently till one of the two guys on the front desk to help out. But none of them had assist me after waiting a couple minutes. This location made me feel like as if I was invisible.

100 stars for the superior service provided by the manager Julio. I was in a bind with work the next day (50+miles away) and a non-functioning car on my hands. All his techs were busy but after explaining my situation Julio went out to inspect my car himself and turns out it was a simple fix. An $800 job turned into $10 thanks to him. So thanks Julio! For your superb customer-care and excellent car knowledge! Fantastic job! Would totally recommend these guys, and their awesome manager!

Julio is the Best Manager at PepBoys !!!!!!!!I traveled from the San Francisco Bay Area to Carson, CA for a jobsite, when I heard a lot grinding sound pulling into the Hotel. Wheel bearing on the driver side went out.I called 5 different shops plus the Kia Dealership, who kept me on hold for 30 minutes without an answer, and no one could get the parts I needed to repair my SUV. Julio said he would take care of the problem.He called around, including the KIA Dealership, got the parts I need shipped overnight and had his staff install the parts within 2 hours of dropping of my SUV.Again, no one was able to get the parts in the area and I had to get back to the SF Bay Area to service my customers. So grateful I was able to go home and I owe it all to Julio and his Staff at PepBoys.Awesome Job !!!!!!!!!!

I purchased a battery from this store. I took the battery home and installed it in my vehicle. My vehicle starts ok but it turns out the salesperson recommended the wrong type battery. Upon returning the core battery I was told I could not return the purchased battery because it had been installed. I was given the return amount for the core battery. This does it with my doing business with Pep Boys. Poorly trained employees. Poor service. Poor selection of products.

Made an appointment for 3;00pm to get my oil change, arrived 7 minutes early, its now 3:25pm and my car is still have not been looked at. Whats the point of making an appointment if youre going to end up waiting anyway. Makes no sense at all.......

Made an appointment for 9:30 am for front brakes not until 11am, did the person get back with me regarding what all I need. They said it should take an hour, so at 12:40 I inquired what was going on and someone else not the person who was helping me said the person working on my car cant seem to find any brake rotors and they will have to send out for some. So they now want be able to get me out of this place until 5pm.Pep boys Is not like they where back in the days or maybe its just these self center people who now work here feels like they are the only ones that have a life or they are there just to waste people time.

Horrible! They dont even deserve 1 star! I took my car in and went back 2 hours later and they had not even started working on it. They said because I didnt have an appointment I had to wait but I called the day before to ask if I needed one and they said no. I had to wait another 30 minutes after leaving it there for 2 hours! I should have looked at the reviews they say exactly what happened to me but I was staying right next door and it was convenient. Never will I go back!

The people in the store seemed nice when we bought snow chains,and then we asked if we could have someone check the air in our tires before we made the long trip to Mammoth.Thats when we met the tire shop manager Julio. He quickly used a tire gauge and asked if our sensor showed they were low. We explained that we were making a long trip into the snow and wanted to fill tires. He said they are fine. On the way to our destination the sensor came on at only 26 lbs. First on one tire then on another at 27lbs. Very dissatisfied in the service. We had also spoken with the location in harbor city who said they would check the chains on my tires to make sure they fit as I have low profile tires. When we asked Julio if he could check the chains for us, especially as my tire size was not listed on packaging, his response was we dont do that.Do not use this service center
Made an appointment for a battery change. Service manager and workers were pleasant. Discounted online price honored even though I didnt buy battery online. Only complaint is having appointment didnt matter as other customers that came after me got services done before they got to my car.
They dont take used coolant, they have limited brands and kinda overpriced parts, and the guy wouldnt let me do a walk in at 8:30pm for a quick oil change (there was one mechanic with one car with the guy standing outside of it, so not unreasonable) BUT they also wouldnt loosen and properly torque my drain bolt for me. When I asked where in the protocol it prevented them from loosening a bolt as a service, he said his his personal rules (my) prevent him from touching a car without completing a full oil change. I mean, I saw no grease on his hands and I was willing to pay as much as $20 for it ($40 if I knew that Able Auto in Torrance torqued it to well over 110 ft-lb). I would have asked the mechanic but the teller at the service area was clearly not going to let him get away with breaking his personal rules, probably even if I had the guy use the tools in my car (yeah I had a trolley jack and stands because I was borrowing a non-sloped driveway earlier that day), but I wasnt going to wait in the parking lot for half an hour or more, anyway.I guess I should probably knock this down to three stars. Theyve otherwise been cool to me inside the store and stuff. Its always empty which I like.Original rating was four stars no review.Sorry public relations person.
The guys working the tire dept on 2/19/20 were the biggest help to me saving me over $300 to on a flat tire were the tire store next door tried to get me to buy a new tire. Thanks guys!!!!

A couple years ago I gave this Co. a opportunity to earn my loyalty. I purchased tires and a battery. I found out later when I got a nail in the tire how far the sidewall of the tire goes into the tread. I had to purchase a new tire at a prorated price, of course the Pep Boys rep. called it a $30 savings. Really? at that time a felt the car may need a alignment, so I asked about a alignment? I was told all was good. Within 5 months from that time one of my from tires was worn down so bad the belts where showing. Then I was told the tire went out because the alignment was off. Really? I kid you not a week later the battery I purchased went out 3 weeks after the the 2 yr. free replacement policy expired. Pep Boys is willing to prorate the cost of a new Battery another $29 savings. Really? Nope...Im done and to make matters worse the service department personnel have been rude, and not very helpful at all. Cust. Service is everything. Obviously that idea is not important at this particular location.
The store was slow, it was a quick in/out, plenty of parking, the staff is helpful. They have choices from high to low. They beat Costcos price, its across from IKEA, off the 405, off on Avalon Avenue south, second signal right
Service here by David and the other employees at Pep Boys were exceptional! They worked so hard to help me on a very busy day and their knowledge and experience about my situation helped me resolve the problems I had with my van. They are honest, and very helpful. I’d drive all the way out here again just to get their services! Thank you Pep Boys of Carson!!

Walked in was immediately greeted. I was told wait one moment until Anthony comes back to check me in. I was waiting about two minutes. In the meantime a customer cars was completed. Anthonio walks in and takes him. Doesnt matter who was waiting first. Anyhow, 1 hour and 45 minutes later after my appointment time for an oil change my car was ready. I saw my car being pulled out and parked so I go inside to pay. Lonnie hands me my keys and cash me out. Lonnie was extremely nice and helpful. Because of him I just might come back. Ive been to many pep boys in the surrounding areas and afar only to be discouraged due to their customer service.

So discusting and unprofessional with a worker named David, when I was in line he didn’t even bother saying “next” or greeting me. Instead he said what do you need 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 And instead of making my day better and answering my questions he had no clue at all.. he was literally no help at all ugh...
This place profiled me because of all my tattoos I guess that means Im a thug because I was there 2 days prior wearing a long sleeve and service was awesome. But on this day where they profiled me you could see I was sleeved up with tattoos in a short sleeve shirt and a store employee followed me around the store and made it obvious that I was being watched. Sad sad sad to have employees working for a such a large company how many others have they done this too and how many more are they going to make feel uncomfortable.
They couldn’t get my car on their rack because they said my car was low.. even tho another pepboys location did the alignment already... that location was just close to my job if not I woulda just took it back to the other location (I have alignment warranty) got the car back and it pulls more than it did before I took it... shoulda just gone back to the other location...
They advertise a 30 minute oil change with an appointment. Well I had an appointment and I got there 30 minutes earlier than my appointment. I didnt expect it to be done before my actual appointment time, I didnt even expect it to be done in 30 minutes. BUT they took almost 5 hours to complete my oil change. 5 hours for an oil change, WITH an appointment? Unacceptable. I wasnt the only one upset with the false advertised wait times. The manager had to speak to a few of unhappy customers the whole time I was there, me included.
I received the best service ever. I called to ask about getting a starter on a Wednesday, but want sure if I was coming in. The next day, a Thursday, I came in, and they had already ordered the starter for my car (A Saturn. Not easy to come by these days) on the chance I was coming in. I was in and out in just over two hours. The car starts very well.What made this so remarkable, was the extent they verified the need for the starter, and showed me how the entire starter system works from the key switch, through the clutch safety switch to the starter solenoid. I got a great education about my car from these guys. Tony, the service manager, is the best.

This place has very bad service even if you make appointment. Holy if you are new buyer theyre nice to you. By when you need like rotation tires, you battery is bad and still under warranty they never have time is B.S
Poor time management your time is not valued. Customers have to micromanage and double check behind a reputable company is ridiculous. I have returned five times for the same job that i paid over a thousand dollars for. They miss diagnosis causing me additional monies. Failed to do oil change that could blow out my engine. Mangers promised me on several occasions that the matter would be handled. They failed to do so. Livid with this company, any more issues I will be seeking litigation. Talked to Area Director as well.

I paid a good price for my tires today. I was not happy about the wait time on the phone dealing with the staff. I had general questions for a problem with a clear resulotion yet I had to be placed on hold.

This place is great! Not only is it conveniently located but the customer service is always great here! Whether I need air in my tire, oil change, wiper blades etc. Today I unfortunately needed to get 4 new tires when I came in for a tire plug so atleast I thought smh. As soon as I walked in Salvador helped me. He explained everything to me and showed me my tread and it was extremely low! Antonio and Tim were a great help too! They made sure I got the best price in town! Whenever you come in ask for 1 of these guys and you wont be disappointed!
Nancy Alvarez is unprofessional and ill-informed. In her world Samsung pay and apple pay are the same thing. How she is working the cashier is beyond me. Thankfully there are other places to shop for auto parts than this pep boys.

Everytime I come here theres a different issue, either item not available and i have to wait for them to go elsewhere to get it, they are always short staffed, and they never make the promise time. They tell you 2 hours it takes 4.
Gave it a 2 just for having a business. Service was terrible. People were hanging out the door. 1 person at the counterI was just there to purchase 1 item. Julio at the counter was not able to help more than 2 people in a 15 minute span. Answering the phone, while the line was out the door. Hopefully not to be back here again.
David and Alan provided excellent customer service and answered all my question with great detail. I truly appreciate these two gentlemen making me feel like the number one priority.
Gave us 2-3 hours window, we are still waiting on our 4th hour. Not even coffee on the waiting room. Because of the waiting time, I will give them 0 star. Check next door, Just Tires, might get a better service and better window time.... 4 hours waiting is ridiculous... they ruined part of my weekend.

Their customer service is horrible. I have been there twice and each time no one at the front desk greeted me. The 1st time I had to wait a while for the front desk clerk to get off the phone and assist me just to tell me they were too busy to an oil change. Today, I had to wait again for the clerk to get off the phone. While I was waiting, nnother desk clerk walked in and started working on the computer not even acknowledging me. When I asked for help, he responded stating that he is busy and will help when he is done. I just left. Terrible service. I will not be back.
Upon my visit, the two staff members that I had interaction with were extremely cordial polite and professional about what they were doing. I would recommend this facility as a must go to for a professional environment.

I went on Friday to have my an oil change 2 new tires and an alignment total cost $328.89. Paid in full. Drop off the car 1130 am picked the car up at 730pm They called and advised everything had been completed. I go to get my car and the alignment isn’t done. They tell me the bring it back Saturday which is a no go because I have plans for the day. I was a bit irritated because no one expressed that my car wasn’t completed over the phone. Got there I wanted my refund for my alignment which was given back. David undestood my frustration and gave me an alignment for free. I changed plans to have my car finished on Saturday. Thank God. When I left Saturday I was advised that I needed front struts. David gave me an estimate for $283.79. Avery advised that he would be off Sunday so come back Monday morning which is today, which is what I did. I get there this morning it’s a totally different staff. I give them the estimate that I was provided Saturday. Belinda very rude, aggressive and a lack of customer services slaps down a form telling me to fill out the area where she marked with an X. She asks me do I have the parts? I looked very confused and asked why would I have the parts. She replies very rudely because the estimate Is for labor only. I say ok. Then she says the estimate is completely wrong. So Julio the sup comes over and assist her with the order. The new total is $100 bucks more than what they quoted me Saturday. I say wow that a huge difference in pricing. Belinda well, it’s not our fault that he gave you an incorrect quote. Me: who’s fault is it? I don’t work here, I’m not a Mechanic I am a Claims Auditor. I know nothing about cars. I got an alignment and was told that my struts needs to be replaced so that why I am back here today for the 3rd day. Belinda: this is the quote$$$$$. I feel like they should have honored the quote they gave me Saturday. Then she’s trying her hardest to charge for an alignment which Avery has told her twice I got on Saturday. At the end of the day customer service is everything. I won’t be returning. The initial staff was nice and had great customer service. They helped and listened. Julio and Belinda needs to go back to the pep boys they came from. Bring back David! Avery is the best. Very friendly, he ensures that you understand what’s going on with your car. Kinda disappointed with my last 2 visits. Second time, i went to get my light bulb replaced on my headlights. I was told by a young Hispanic kid who worked there that all i gotta do is buy the bulbs from the inside of the store, and they would install it free of charge. So i buy the bulbs, and they install. I get handed my keys and while i hop in my car, the kid says that will be twenty dollars sir. I looked at him and said thought you said the workwas free as long as I buy the bulbs from your store ? And he says dont worry about it! And just walked away !Third time. I went for an oil change with an appointment. When i was seen by the shop mgr. I also requested new windshield wipers. He said he would take care of me. It took over an hour for them to finish the oil change, and they forgot to replace my windshield wipers. Thank God i wasnt charged

I thought I was going to go through hell this morning, until I met with and one of the managers at this location and he made everything work out these guys are super honest they work really hard and they do everything right. I gave them 3 chances, how dumb could I be to think they would change like an ex boyfriend I guess haha but yes dont go there please! 1st time it took more than 2 hours to get an oil change. 2nd time I asked for oil change and they forgot to put the cap on oil spilled everywhere all over my car. I had to buy a new cap. 3rd time I had them give me an oil change supposedly but no when I went to get my car checked at anothers pep boys they didnt change the oil. I gave up on them and now go somewhere else. The people there are really nice besides the lady that works there. Every time she was there something bad happened to my car. All the guys there are really nice but I feel like the place is short staffed and they should really hire more workers to lighten the load. Im hoping everything works out for them and that they start doing services correctly.
I had made an appointment on Thursday a sameday appointment 5:00 pm on the Internet & had put down on the service comment I had purchase lowering springs and I would to get it installed. I received a confirmation number at this location when I got there the person who had helped me she had said they were short handed and that it will take a few hours to do the labor.Which I understand so I had reschedule for Friday at the sametime @ 5:00 pm.Its Friday I got there for my appointment at 5:00 the young gentleman that helped me I told him i was there for my 5 oclock appointment he had check the system and had mention my name and ask me what service I wanted to do for my vehicle and I told him I had purchase lowering springs and I would to get it installed and the gentleman had told me hold on for a second and he had walked to the mechanic area and came back that they wont have time to do it today and that they were busy. Which I didnt understand whats the purpose of making the appointment and the gentlemen had told me I should of schedule at earlier time. I would never go here to purchase or do service for my car.
