Oh, Red Hut! Ive been remiss in extolling your virtues in my time living in the Carson area. Now I find myself relocating from the amazing landscape of northern Nevada to the also amazing landscape of southern New Mexico.So this is my parting gift. Thank you for your wonderful food, service, and legacy in northern Nevada over the years. I will miss you. But know that I will happily and joyously bury myself face deep in The Usual on the occasions I get to return and soak up the glory that is a place I adore.In the countless times Ive gorged myself on your stupendously fabulous offerings, the coffee has been overflowing, the staff have been gracious and wonderful, and the food has been something worth injuring myself for overeating.Cheers! Know that upon return visits no longer as locals, you are a must visit. Thank you for many years of joy.
Awesome stick-to-your-ribs All-American breakfast served by the friendliest crew. But what makes this place truly standout? It can be jammed packed, and they still can serve the plates faster than any other breakfast house I have ever visited. Love this place.
Great place to have breakfast. We had the build your own omelet and berry waffles and they were both very good.
My boyfriend and I went there for breakfast and split a meal and just ordered an extra side if bacon and it was $30. Way over priced

Im giving it four stars, since 3.5 is not an option. The atmosphere is the typical diner vibe. They want you in fast and out fast. With it being my first visit, I had a hard time contemplating what to order. Your have a choice of your basic breakfast options, or your basic lunch options. This is by far one the best places in Carson City for breakfast. The staff are always so pleasant and the food is absolutely fantastic!
Overall a good experience with friendly servers and good food. The spicy bloody marys are very spicy. We couldnt finish them and there wasnt the taste of vodka in them. The corn bread waffle was delicious. Prices seem on the high side so I question the value. They are very predictable from location to location so when you find a favorite you can have it at any of their restaurants and youll get what you came for.
Food seems pretty good, but most breakfast dishes are eggs or waffles (i know, I know BREAKFAST) but I dont like eggs, and waffles get boring. More meat or potato scramble options might do well.
Food was good. The pancakes cover the eggs and bacon. Should of had two plates. Thought the food was expensive for breakfast.

Unimpressed from the start. We were given one menu and when we asked for another were told no. Normally I would just let it go but the service continued that way. I ordered the Dons special and the pancakes came out on top of the eggs and bacon.At first I thought they forgot the rest. The bacon was cheap and the eggs were cooked wrong. My husband got the usual. The biscuits were dry and the gravy was just cheap packet gravy. My son got chicken tenders with fries. The chicken was good but the fries were soggy. The Waitress dropped the check with our meal and never came back, so no coffee refills, and we didnt get to ask for anything after that like ketchup. We certainly wont be back.

The Rosti with ham is my favorite. The Usual: biscuits and gravy, eggs and hash browns is also really good. Havent had lunch there yet but breakfast is excellent.

Ate breakfast here from san frabcisco . The servers are very nice and food was great. When we went out to go to our car its seems it was not starting. One of the employee went out and ask if we need some help starting our car and offer us water. She went out beyond her job helping a family in need. Now we are back and we are very delighted and satisfied.
First time trying this location. Was not disappointed. I had The Usual and it was as good as the So. Shore location, which is my favorite. Great locals restaurant!

Love the service and love the food, the hashbrowns are cooked perfectly to have a slight krisp, the eggs are amazing and especially the Biscuits and Gravy. Definitely will recommend.

Great little Cafe with awesome service and good food. Try the Chorizo scramble if you like Chorizo then youll appreciate the flavors of this dish. Enjoyed the cornbread waffle, sweet and savory with a side of the thick cut bacon. Coffee was rich and flavorful, too.
I just LOVE the Red Hut! (My diet doesnt, but my tongue adores it!) They have unique names for their specials like The Usualual (oh so good!) Their servers have smiles to share! The food is scrumptious. Great place for friends and families to eat!

Great breakfast and friendly staff. One concerning issue, waitress was wearing black disposable gloves that she picked up dirty glasses (fingers inside the dirty glasses) and plates, wiped tables and then brought our food with the same gloves. This unfortunately does nothing to stop the spread but instead passes germs and the spread!

Love this place for breakfast, The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is this is a country style restaurant and they dont have a proper country fried steak breakfast on the menu. They have a option with something like a hamburger patty and eggs but I love a good chicken fried steak and eggs breakfast so I sadly have to go elsewhere most days. When I am feeling bacon and eggs this is my favorite place to go

What a nice surprise! This little gem is hidden in a strip mall in Carson City and though it’s visually nothing special the food and service are definitely worth the visit! I had the turkey Ortega sandwich and it was wonderful! If you are looking for breakfast or lunch stop on in!

Been going to red hot since I was a kid up in Tahoe. The service was great, and breakfast was excellent. If youre not sure what to get, try the loaded up red hut rosti with an egg on top. I get it every time I get breakfast there, and its never let me down!
Tried this spot recently to give it another chance after a previous disappointing visit. The on menu omelette was really good, the off menu omelette was not (ingredients were not chopped up and were not well distributed). The hash browns were ordered crispy and came barely browned. The server gave the absolute minimum amount of attention. I dont think we are likely to try again here for a long time if ever.

This place is pretty hit or miss for us. Today was a miss. Last time we were here we were given a high chair that didn’t buckle for my infant daughter. One of the wait staff made it right and had said there had been multiple attempts to get it fixed by putting a request in to maintenance, but it gets shoved to the bottom of the pile. So first off today were were given a high chair that doesn’t buckle and when we tried to get another one we were told that none of them buckle. Seems like a safety hazard and accident/lawsuit waiting to happen. Luckily we had a travel chair in our vehicle from a recent trip so it worked out. Then it took forever for someone to take our order. It seems like there are no assigned tables and they just go wherever and it makes it for either a breakfast where someone is constantly asking you if everything is good to the point you can’t eat or have a conversation with the people sitting next to you, or you are almost completely ignored and when you need napkins because one of the children spilled her water you have to get them yourself... or oh yeah cream for your coffee too. I had to get up and get some as the one on our table was empty.We keep coming back because the food is good, but this time might have been our last visit.
Very good breakfast and the coffee was surprisingly rich. Not like the usual brown water served at most diners.The price was a little on the high side for Reno/Carson but worth it.

Yuk! The gravy with the biscuits tasted like corn starch did not really look like gravy hash browns basic as well as eggs! Coffee tasted almost sour no greeting as we came in the door at all, never again! No smiles at all felt like I was not welcomed! I am in the industry and try to be fair but this was short of depressed employees gloom and doom!! Very poor customer service!!! I left one star because I tried it! No eggs are worth 10.00 really???
When in was sat at a dirty table simply asked to have the table cleaned waitress barely clean the end of the table and set sterilized my sister and I looked at each other and walked right out well never go back.
Typical diner breakfast place with lively decor and friendly staff. Only ate one meal here of eggs and bacon. Order was cooked properly, coffee refills were frequent, and staff were friendly and courteous. If you want regular old eggs and bacon its a good choice.
Went in today to try this restaurant for the first time. I was greeted by a friendly middle aged woman that also seated me and informed me that my waitress would be with me shortly. As she was walking away she asked what I would like to drink, I responded water and she said only water?. Then she went and grabbed my water and reminded me my waitress would be with me shortly.My waitress came to take my order rather quickly after The initial encounter I had with the first team member. She wasnt friendly at all and seemed uninterested with my curiosity in the menu. After taking my order, the food was delivered rather quickly. The young woman that took my order immediately dropped the check on the table without saying a word. Clearly she didnt have intentions of serving me anymore and she didnt. I never saw her again, unless it was talking with the other team members on the line in front of all the guests that were also being ignored. She never came back to check on my food or ask if I needed a refill, she actually disappeared for the majority of my visit.The food that came out was less than mediocre. The sausage was dry and was clearly held under a heat lamp to keep at temp or was just over cooked. The gravy was very bland, and seemed to be made from a store bought packet (just add water). The egg was not cooked as I ordered it and the syrup at the table was nearly as runny as water. Very disappointing food.After giving up on the poor quality food, I sat for about 15 minutes without being helped and then was asked by a random girl if I wanted a box. I had to get up to pay, which is fine, but the girl who took my payment was yet again a different team member that had nothing to do with my experience. I was never helped by the same person twice, so I never really knew who my server was. Im guessing the girl that took my order? Youre guess is as good as mine.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and frankly cant understand how it has a four star rating. Thats a VERY generous rating based on my experience.On a side note: If I were the owner of this restaurant I would seriously consider retraining the entire staff in hospitality and work on delivering a higher quality food to the guest.
