I bought snowboard boots. They were $299 before tax. The store appears to sell quality products at full retail price. The store is clean and organized. The employees were helpful to me in finding boots that should fit (this is what you pay a premium for, of course). I enjoyed the old-fashioned shoe fitting service. It was not very ADA friendly, at least at the time of my visit. Had a brief discussion with a store manager about it while visiting. I was initially denied access to the store, could not be accommodated from outside, and denied the ability to redeem my gift card. The manager was firmly unbudging in enforcing a store policy, which frankly, was not ADA compliant. It was infuriating, but eventually an employee fixed the situation. Who wants to face push-back while trying to walk into a customer service based store? It tainted what would otherwise have been a positive experience. I had to drop down to three stars for this because Im still thinking about it 12+ hours later. BlueZone should revisit their store policies if they want to continue to compete in what ultimately amounts to a product-sales support services industry.Update: my wife reminded me that the first time I visited this establishment a couple years prior, I had an unsatisfactory experience. I paid for services to wax my snowboard and replace a lost binding screw. The price felt high at the time, but I stuck with it because the establishment was recommended. The screw fell out the first day I used it. I then paid less to get the same wax/screw service at the ski lodge repair shop on the mountain. Im officially demoting one more star.I have no plans to return.
The bike store technicians are excellent. However, there is NO way to reach them to ask a question or ask about availability of a part or accessory. Phone calls to the main number are answered by an automated attendant that says the party you are calling is busy and cant take your call...please leave a message. A message left does NOT generate a return call. Sheesh.
This is a great bike shop. I drove down to Carson City and rode Ash Canyon and got a flat while descending. Rode out because I had Cush core core insert in. This place is open until 6 on Sunday’s and they do it all. I went in to purchase a tire and they installed it in with my Cush core which is not easy. Don was my mechanic and he was super cool and really helped me. These guys worked so hard and barley charged me anything and went above and beyond. They even trusted me to go out to my car without paying to put my bike away. I saw some really nice bikes in the shop as well. Man they saved me. Thanks Don I will come in and do some shopping here for sure.
They advertise replacement parts for kayaks but do not carry them. They refer you to the manufacture.
Needed an extra paddle board paddle for my friends to use, it was my first time in the store. They were receiving their spring shipment of paddle board gear, so it was a little inconvenient for them to dig through boxes and grab a variety of paddles on a very high shelf to show me. They were very happy to help me and I left a very satisfied customer!! I highly recommend them for all of your Tahoe adventures, the very best part of my shopping experience was getting to love on Solstice, their 4 month old adorable pup! Ill definitely be back!! Thank you Blue Zone Sports! :)
Great customer service! These guys went above and beyond to help me out. I am always delighted to shop where you can walk in and get real live help from friendly, knowledgeable staff.
I was really surprised by the amount of awesome gear and attire they sell. The staff is phenomenal and takes care of you. They go out of their way to help you. Would recommend 10/10 times
This place was really neat. It seemed to have everything you need to enjoy out door life in northern Nevada. Baseball equipment, bikes, skies, apparel, camping equipment, etc... The staff were knowledgeable and very helpful. Great place to shop and just browse.
Had a great experience with everyone at BlueZone Sports (Carson City) but especially with Phil, who works at the bike section of the store. He went out of his way to make sure I got the best bike fit, bike, and accessories to fit my needs, at a price I could afford. He answered all my questions, too. Ill definitely be a repeat customer!
Had reason to stop into the store the other day, wow they have a lot of stuff. Needed some new hiking shoes and Mike, the store manager was extremely helpful as I tried on several different styles and brands. Finally settled on another pair of Merrills (my go to brand). Store is worth checking out as they seem to have a very wide selection of products. Prices seem competitive as well.
Rented a kayak, received excellent assistance with loading and unloading and the kayak was awesome 👍🏻
Good prices, clean, and great service! We need one in Tahoe!!
Great store, very open with lots of room and a large selection of quality products. I appreciate Mike, the store manager, being super helpful and willing to go out of his way to help us out and make sure we got what we were looking for. Excellent service and a friendly vibe.
Great customer support, we just bought a new pair of skis, poles, goggles, etc and their staff was outstanding! Great service and excellent prices, they will be our first choice for future ski related items. Thank you!
Very friendly staff. Very knowledgable as well. I have become a very good customer. Their ski tuning package is a great deal too.
Worst experience I’ve had in a while in a department store. Went to the Carson city location. Took over 20 minutes and being walked past 10 times to be acknowledged. Then it was such a chore to have the employee look for shoe sizes only to find out the they didn’t have any sizes in 4 different shoes. I wasn’t the only one in the shoe area unhappy with the service. They actually left and ordered their shoes online instead of dealing with a miserable employee that clearly didn’t want to be there. Will never return to this store again. Will bare the drive to sparks and scheels for my sporting good needs.
Manager was very rude!! Coming from out of state where we arent required to wear mask and he very rudely says I wont help you without a mask
Great atmosphere, friendly employees, and a couple of great sales going on, happened to be exactly what we needed was on sale. Bike selection is large for the area but a little dull for my taste. Cannondale mostly. REI selection and quality without the snobbery. Ill be back for sure.
Since changing store managers, this store has become a great store again. Deena has turned it around and works with everyone fairly and honestly. Nice people work here and I vote you go see them.
I had forgotten my running shoes on a business trip and stumbled upon Blue Zone. All the staff was super friendly when I came in.A guy by the name of Mike helped me. He was super knowledgeable and helpful. He actually convinced me to try a set of Hoka One shoes which I had seen but had been reluctant to try.I am super stoked with them. They make me run faster and jump higher! (Not really, but I’d like to think so as I really like the fit and comfort!)Thanks again for the help Mike!
I passed by in the parking lot just before the store closed. I would like to know as soon as possible if this store currently has snow pants for women available, before deciding on if I should go to Reno instead.
They have a good selection at multiple price points. Even better, if you bring in a Trader Joes receipt (located next door) they give you a discount!!!
I had a positive experience shopping for a bicycle at BlueZone in Carson City. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and helped me with some suggestions for cycling gear as well. I wish all shops had the same focus on the customer and what they need.
Great place, great products. No pressure sales.
Rented skis for my son and nine. Service and friendliness were exemplary and quality was outstanding. Not to even mention that the cost was half of renting at the slopes!!!
They have everything you need for the Carson/Tahoe region!
Bike shop is clueless, don’t know what the right parts are.
Really nice stuff and good prices.
Nice place and great service.
Great selection and customer service.
Very awesome place 👍
Gear for mountains, desert and more.
