What a gorgeous store! Really knowledgeable employees, high quality products, too many plants and pots to tempt me.

Stopped in for the first time last weekend and wondered what too me so long to visit here. Not a huge selection of houseplants (which is what I was shopping for) but quite a few, and I walked out with a gorgeous and healthy ZZ plant which Ive wanted for a while now. Also picked up a little succulent and two pots. Prices are about what you would expect to pay at a smaller garden store in town, but Ill pay a few dollars more to support a small business. Plants are all very healthy and the pot/container selection is amazing and unique!

I found a wonderful variety of very healthy plants, an ultra cool planter box, bird food and a gift certificate to give my good neighbors as a thank you. I am going back tomorrow! Awesome store and very helpful staff!

My first time here, Im impressed and grateful for this place! Found my old favorite aquaponic grow supplies and some new stuff, the staff were knowledgeable and friendly and the store has a great vibe!

Excellent service and wonderful staff. I put in a curbside order for some potting soil and perlite on the website late at night. I received a call the next morning from Dan (super helpful) that my order was ready. I paid over the phone. There was an issue with the new payment system. I ended up being charged twice, but by the time I noticed, Fifth Season had already reimbursed me. Highly recommend!!

The once small plants we purchased at Fifth Season at the start of 2020 are now huge thanks to their quality, the pots that were recommended, and the great advice on care we received from the friendly staff. There are no green thumbs in this family but you wouldnt know it from the thriving greenery scattered throughout our home now that we are loyal Fifth Season customers.

Came in looking for coconut coir and a small kitchen compost container. They had both, including a good variety of coconut coir. Lovely store, helpful staff and very safe Covid-19 precautions in place. Cant wait to go back!

Been here a few times for gardening supplies, and they have a great selection and friendly staff. Went in today for some home brewing equipment and the staff were super knowledgeable and helpful with making sure I got exactly what I needed. Highly recommend!

I am new to town, and was looking for some planters for a pot and planter garden. The guy taking my order over the phone for contactless pickup was super friendly and the process was simple. When I got there the next day to pick my plants up (tomato, lavender, chive, basil, mint, and aloe) I called their number, and my healthy looking plants were out to me in less than 5 minutes.

Best place for brewing and hydroponic supplies in the triangle!

I do a lot of gardening, both hydroponic and soil-based, so I shop at this place fairly often. They have an interesting and frequently-changing inventory, and it can be nice to just browse the shelves and see what kind of cool stuff they got in recently. There is a fenced-in area across the parking lot with potted trees and various flowering plants, herbs and veggies out front, and an indoor tropical/succulent/carnivorous/cactus plant area. Tons of hydroponic nutrients and supplies compared to any other garden center in the area, and a room of soil and amendments. The people are also really friendly and helpful.I do have a couple of minor issues with this place - the main one being the high prices. Theyre not *quite* boutique-level, but close; I can usually find the same stuff online for half the price. For that reason, I still buy most of my supplies on Amazon, but I do try to support a good local business as well when I can afford it. A lot of people in the area might not find this place affordable. They could probably also coordinate so they only ask a customer if they are finding everything okay *once* and then let them shop or come to the front if they need help. Some people like getting the Best Buy experience, but I personally go out of my way to avoid being asked repeatedly if I need help. Overall though, Fifth Season is by and far a gem in Carrboro.

Great shop! The lay out is gorgeous, the selection is abundant, and the service is friendly and knowledgeable.What I love is that the prices are very competitive to amazon and other online retailers. This place rules. Its hard to believe it isnt better known among my friends who garden! I was very pleased with the selection of succulents, cacti, and house plants. My partner and I went in to browse and left with more plants than we knew what to do with. I highly recommend checking it out. (And this is all from someone who didnt venture into the brewing half of the business!)

The only Issue I have here Is I cannot leave this store without spending a bunch of money! It is impossible!! for a small place they pack a big punch. They carry a wide variety of products you would otherwise have to order online and wait. From trace minerals to water soluble fertilizers and a great variety of pest control.. If Hydroponics or brewing beer is your thing this is the place for you. The staff Is very friendly and knowledgeable, there will be no calling over the intercom for assistance here. If you arent shopping here, you just are not shopping!! I love this place and they get 5 stars easily.

There is a very handsome dark skinned man that works there and I think he’s my soulmate. Also, the plants are very nice.

Worked with Fifth Season to special order some livestock feed. In the end the logistics didnt work out, but they were very helpful throughout the entire process. I wouldnt hesitate to give them my business whenever Im in the area.

This is my favorite Gardening store they have beautiful and different plants than any place Ive been too. The prices are very good. If you want to have a beautiful garden you have to go there.

Friendly staff. Good selection of 2 succulents for $4. Their carnivorous selection is super cool. Things can get expensive quick if you want bigger.

I had the unfortunate experience of parking in a space that had a red cone sitting at the very edge of a parking space apparently used to mark out a space, and this is unfortunate because I assumed that Fifth Season had closed up and moved the cone up to allow folks to park there. After my dinner at Glass Half Full, I found a note on my car from the person closing up at Fifth Season. It was a long note describing how I either A. if I did not see the cone then I should not be allowed to drive or B. felt so entitled to the convenience of moving this cone that I am the reason why People Hate Americans. I give this two stars because I was actually able to laugh at this person writing the note wondering why they felt so entitled? Regardless, I used to shop at Fifth Season. I used to tell everyone I know to shop at Fifth Season...but at least at Southern States, the folks know what good customer service is all about. Dear shopkeeper, Im sorry I parked in that space. Trust me, I wont do it again! Did I take away your convenience of putting away the last of the gardening supplies? If you covet that convenience, is that the reason why folks hate Americans?

Good supply for growing gardens and plants, all kinds of specialtie products for beer making and hydroponic. Make sure you ask about returning items....they don’t tell you till after the fact!

They have a good selection of gardening supplies, lots of hydroponic equipment, and a bit of homebrew (beer) stuff.I typically get most of my homebrew supplies and ingredients elsewhere, but Fifth Season has *amazing* prices on CO2 tank swaps. IIRC, its $20 for any size swap. For a 5lb tank its probably a push compared to some other options, but Im in and out quickly with my big 20lb CO2 tank for cheaper than I can get it refilled even at a welding supply shop. Love it.

Fifth Season is a great local store. They’re the place to go if you’re an inexperienced gardener or not great with house plants, and they have the best plants, seeds, and growing products for experts. I always start my holiday shopping with them, and came away today with a bag of stocking-stuffers people will use and appreciate.
