I like the pale ale. But the cap city ipa is really bad. The blood orange is better but still not a good ipa. The service is hit or miss and so is the food. Sometimes you get a great meal sometimes you get something that tastes like leftovers from your fridge. Its really odd. I have had four star experiences here but mostly its a three. The chef has real potential but the quality of the ingredients is lacking. For instance the french dip is good but the rolls is terrible and the meat is the not sliced properly. I want to love it but something is always slightly off. The prices are already high for the quality of the food and beer. I think someday it could be great. I keep coming back in hope that it will live up to its potential.

River City Brewing is our go to spot! Everything we have tried always hits the spot. The staff is always welcoming and attentive, especially Ashley! Even with a mask on you can feel the warmth of her smile.
Not sure why I havent reviewed this RCB already..Anyways, its always on point. This references both the tastiness of the culinary creations but also the impeccable service. Always a great place for happy hour small plates but they certainly step up to plate for a consistantly good late lunch or dinner. Great beer selection...of course.Oh, did I mention the awesome service?
Food hasnt been ON, really off. Perhaps going from 0 -100, vivid lifted combined with summer came quickly. Ive worked in the restaurant industry dish fish to waitress, Sous chef, pantry.....I understand Im sure our favorites will be favorites again. Hang in there,Good eats.
This place is a 50/50 chance of being served by someone with a pleasant attitude or an extremely rude attitude. Unfortunately both times I have visited River City Brewing Company I have received just the absolute worst service and rude attitude from the female server. No matter how nice and polite I was, and I really over sold the kindness, her attitude never got any better. I dont know about everyone else,but when I visit an establishment I do for polite helpful service, an inviting nice atmosphere, and so I dont have to cook myself. To receive poor negative treatment from a server on multiple occasions doesnt help the chances of me returning, especially for mediocre flavor that isnt cooked as ordered. And forget about asking the server to correct it. That was a whole other attitude that Im not even willing to put up with. All in all I was very disappointed with the experience.
We had a large group of 20 people and had a great time. Service was excellent, fast and friendly. Food is exceptional for a brewery. Great family atmosphere and full bar (not just beers). Will definitely go back and take friends.

Food was great staff was really friendly and prompted and at first made us feel very welcomed. The only two things I would say is the appetizer came out with the meal and then we kind of felt rushed to get out of there after they brought the food, not so much by our waitress but the other staff.

Every vegetarian item was impeccable. The famous Eggplant napoleon. Pasta primavera. Portobello sandwich. Pesto pizza. House salad (extraordinary!) And I as a seafood aficionado also tried the lump crab cakes, which were superb. Bravo!!
Ashley was a great server. Atmosphere was good but the food was a bit greasy. The lavender lemonade cider was delicious.
French Dip was good. Fries were a bit soggy but ok. Beer was good and cold.

You have a beer or two, then walk to a lounging area that separates the two buildings. Theres lots of comfy seating, fireplace and mini waterfall. Its romantic spot, if the date is going well. River City is a great place for everything from a fun date night, to a big family dinner, to just grabbing a craft beer after work and watching the game. When I am in town from Texas I always come here! Our family members (who live in Carmichael) patron this place frequently and it’s no wonder why, it’s amazing! We had a big party on Friday night & the kids (and frankly the adults too) all loved playing corn hole, giant jenga, and giant connect 4. The wait staff is knowledgeable and super friendly. The bar staff knows the beers and the guest beers profiles front & back. I’ve seen the owners running around River City & you can tell that they truly care about the staff, their customers, the food, & their brews. Their beers are one of a kind & delicious. The food is crazy crave worthy! The soft pretzels 🤤 Asiago crusted chicken 🤤🤤 The shrimp tacos!! This last time I asked the waitress just to “surprise me” and bring me anything, she picked the French Dip & oh I am glad she did! The bread was light and fluffy and the onion rings are seriously addiction inducing. Whatever the folks at River City are breading those onion rings in 😍 The sandwich itself was pilled high with meat & the au ju is incredible. Paired very well with my stout beer. Only critique is... they need a Dallas Texas location.Side notes: dog friendly patio, great happy hour deals, very fair prices, they do have a full bar, & the bathrooms are always spotless
This place was great. It definitely feels like an upscale brewery but their happy hour prices were good. The beer selection is great (had the Funke Hop Farm Sour Saison and my girlfriend had a tropical ale which were both delicious) and the food was wonderful. We had green beans and bruschetta, though we were really hoping to have the Reuben egg rolls (they ran out I guess right when we got there which seems like poor planning). Well definitely be back here to try more from the menu.
River city brewery is always awesome. Had the salmon, Last 4 times I was there. It is to die for. Great food and great service. Love The owner.

They have a very good burger. I would like to see their menu expand. It is rather limited.. everything i have tried here is good food.. they just need more of it.. PLEASE EXPAND YOUR MENU. Maybe offer a daily or at least weekly special? Switch it up a bit

Ordered food to go, and wow were we impressed! We got the Blue cheese wedge salad, Fritto Misto, and Portobello mushroom sandwich. Best meal I’ve had in a while. The order was hot and ready in amazing time, especially considering it was a busy Friday evening. Will be ordering from River City more often, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

This was my first dine in experience since March. It was lovely! The food was very tasty, the patio was spacious and comfortable. The beer is FANTASTIC. I was really comfortable eating here.
Went today for outdoor food and drink. Employees were so nice and they are complying with all the rules setup in this covid age.Our server was soooo nice. And even the foodrunner/busser was amazing.Calamari is soooo yummy.
So I am re-reviewing. The food was very good, fresh and nicely presented. The service was the best I’ve had in a long time. We hit them at open, one server 6 tables, 18 orders and she handled it like a pro. Absolutely outstanding service.

Took my pup this time - staff was awesome! Food was delicious- we had a simple house salad - but somehow it was sooo good! We then had the Brewmaster pizza & pasta primavera. Both were very tasty. Im not big on just any pizza & I really liked it (even though it wasnt my dish and I only had a piece (I wanted more, lol). They have food you can order for the pup too! Chicken or beef

We are new to the area. We came in with the intention of making an order to go, and stood at the counter for 20 minutes. The workers were in conversation with some people and we kept waiting for someone to say something to us, but they never did. We decided to go ahead and go somewhere else. I gave them two stars because they came so highly recommended, but I was disappointed not to be able to order. We weren’t expecting an order right away as we understand times are different due to a Covid. It just would have been nice for them to acknowledge our existence.

Great service with a very polite staff. I tried all but the ipas on tap and the only one I wasnt a fan of was the red ale. It was a little too hoppy for me. The stout was my favorite. We had a little food during happy hour and tried the fried ravioli which my girlfriend and I both found to be very bland and didnt contain very much inside. The rest of the menu looked very appetizing but I think Ill pass and just drink next time.

Came a few days ago at happy hr, and had a really wonderful experience. The food was good, but what really wowed me was the service. We sat outside alone with our dog and were checked on numerous times by multiple employees. I could tell they didnt want to forget about us, and it definitely showed.The beer selection was amazing as well. Overall I really enjoyed our late lunch and will be back!

Bonny was our server, she was great. The whole staff goes out of there way to make everything is the way you want. The kitchen will modify any food item to you liking within reason. The bartenders spend as much time to socialize with you at the bar. The owners are always there. Dont think they have a life outside the restaurant/bar. Cant wait till the are brewing again! SOON!
Im a local that frequents this eatery. They have a seasonal menu that changes often and offer a pretty good selection of region micro brews. Theyll have upwards of ten specialty home brews by the summer on tap. Good environment for both family and friends. Decent prices. Hospitality is really good!! Lots of regular patronage from the Carmichael community!!
Always great beer and food. Festive but friendly environment. You can see the brewery tanks from your table. Not too loud and not too quiet. Recommend the Reuben and the Amber ale.
This Restaurant is one of the best in Carmichael. With a wide range options on its menu, including outstanding crab cakes, and magnificent sliders. It is a amazing restaurant to go to any day of the week. Their rootbeer is also the best ever!
We came here for lunch on a Saturday. We requested outdoor seating. It wasnt too loud and the atmosphere was so friendly and inviting. My husband and I shared the flight of their personally brewed beers and enjoyed them all! Our server was very good and the co-owner came to the table to ensure that we were fully satisfied with our visit. The prices were reasonable for a local, sit down joint and we enjoyed our entrees. The kids menu made our daughter happy as well! :)
I had been to the downtown plaza location a few times and was sad to see them leave the grid, but after visiting this new location a couple times it is obvious they have landed on their feet. The food is excellent and the service has been top notch. Beer selection is good and seems to have grown since the last time I visited. Very impressed and will be returning, without a doubt.
Excellent Brews... Dont listen to the detractors... those are the same geniuses that want Berries, Grapefruit etc etc in all of their Brews.Food is really solid, doesnt try to be something it isnt. The Reuben Egg rolls are Phenom...Go. Try it. Youll see why the reviews are so high here...

We stopped in for a beer and had the Blueberry cider. Was delicious and cold just the way we like it. The bartender was awesome very attentive and polite.Will define you go back.
We got to RCBC at 3:30pm on a Friday afternoon. It wasnt busy and we opted to sit outside when there were only 4 tables seated when we got there. Our server didnt even come over to my wife and I until 3:55 and we didnt get our beers until 4:23pm! The beer was good but the service from our waiter was slow!We had long finished our pint size beers and we had to flag our waiter to ask for the check at 4:45pm. Seven minutes later our waiter came back and asked if we wanted another beer... ugh! We asked for the check like ten minutes ago! At 4:55 our waiter finally came back with the check and... it was wrong. We had two pint beers at the happy hour price of $4.00 a pint. Should have been $8 plus tax! The beer was charged at the regular price and he added on an order of the Happy Hour egg rolls. Seriously!!! It takes a lot to get me frustrated but at this point Im getting mad. It has now taken us an 1hr and a 1/2+ for two beers!The waiter took the check back to have it corrected and what do you know, it took him a while to get it fixed. The hostess asked if we needed anything else at 5:03 and we expressed in a firm voice that we would like our check so we could go! At about 5 minutes after 5pm our savior Beth, a manager, finally arrived and asked how we were. She had just come to work. We told her that we had been there since 3:30pm and all we had were two beers and just trying to go. Beth was awesome and took care of us right away. Thank you so much Beth for the wonderful customer service! I am giving this review 4 stars just because of her attitude and willingness to help! While our server made this a bad experience we dont let one server ruin a business for us. I hope he is able to get better training to handle customers better and more efficiently because everyone needs a job somewhere and they should be able to do their job to the best of their ability. The next time we come back well go straight to the bar tender. :-D
Really great service, good food, great beer. We came during a rush and the staff was great. Cali club delicious, Mac and chrese side on BBQ sliders was awesome. Very kid friendly. Recommend the River City sampler, great to work around the varieties. Will stop in again!

Good food, willing to alter orders, has some gluten free options, and cider. Not sure if they fully understand what gluten is. The ribs with BBQ sauce made with beer is listed as gluten free. Beer is made from wheat, which has gluten. I tried asking the waiter but he didnt seem to get it.

I miss it being at the Downtown Plaza (now DOCO). I try to go to Carmichael and catch their happy hour. I especially like the chicken wings, brussel sprouts and onion rings. I like the salmon dinner. Their beers are wonderful. I had the cap city IPA last happy hour I was there. Be sure to stop by next time you are in the area!

Great beer and good food!! Went with a friend who likes IPAs and me who likes sours and dark beer and there were plenty of choices for both of our tastes. The food was also good, nice selection of appetizers and other American fare. The soup of the day (potato bacon) was watery and not amazing but everything else was (chili, Brussel sprouts, crab cakes and wings) and our waiter removed the soup from the bill. Waiter was friendly and efficient with a good sense of humor. Will definitely return next time we are in the area!
Great beers brewed in house along with a good food menu. Pizzas looked awesome although I decided on a healthier steak salad the was really good. The caprese salad app was also nice, fresh produce and mozzarella.
The lady was friendly, and the coffee strength was just right. There was only milk for cream, though. (Whole, lowfat, skim). I would totally go there again, but for mercys sake, please have some half & half on hand!

Had a great time here but a little pricey for a Brewery that only has 2 of its own craft beers on the menu. They have brew vats for at least 6 styles of craft beer and should utilize them. Appetizer menu kind of high, Sauteed Brussel Sprouts for $9. Still Id recommend going, cause the staff is very nice and as their motto says, Beer is Salad.

Servers were friendly and efficient. Food was on point and best sandwich Ive had in quite some time. Atmosphere was pleasant and appealing. Beer was great had two River City Woodenhead Amber ales and it was an overall great time!
Food was good, service was very good, friendly nice people. I ordered a beer that I didnt like at all, they happily took it off no charge and got me another. For only being open a week, nice start. Cant wait to see this place cracking later this summer

Have loved this place since it opened. Just stopped in tonight for a few drinks. Sat at the bar and was greeted by a friendly bartender that weve seen before. Didnt take our drink orders at that time but ok, no big deal. Sat and watched her and cute young guy behind the bar. Someone returned a stout, she asked the server if the customer drank from it, the server said, no. She told young cutie that the thing to do was put it in the cooler....really? To serve to a customer or for you later? No one still took our drink orders. Then she, the female bartender with glasses went to talk to female server with curly hair. They complained about, Im assuming, a manager for a couple minutes and didnt miss a beat when we got up and walked out.
Very nice local establishment w/an excellent selection of their own craft brews along with other complementary beverages. The food fair is excellent quality and a far step above bar fare
