I stopped by wanting to get a cup of coffee and some beans…. Little did I know how awesome this place is. Thank you for the great Chai, and the coffee. I can’t wait to sign up for a cupping class and learn more about how “Leap” is bridging the gap between the specialty coffee market and the rest. This is truly a top notch establishment!

Great little hidden gem. Head roaster recommended some Ethiopian beans and the barista made a wonderful iced latte while I wait for my car to be serviced nearby. Glad to find a good roaster close to my house

THIS is a real coffee shop. The owner really knows her stuff. I don’t like “coffee” drinks that are composed of mostly sickly sweet syrup. The owner recommended the house-made mocha latte, and it’s perfect. Rich chocolate flavor without the syrup. You can always add sugar if you’re into the diabetes-in-cup option. Lol. (Note their location change due to the pandemic; it’s in an industrial area and they’re working on creating more of a “cafe” feel. So don’t get confused—you’re probably in the right spot, just walk in, it looks like an office when you first walk in as of 7/6/2021).

Vacationing in Carlsbad (Legoland) and was wondering if there was any decent coffee place around.Google Maps to the rescue!Leap is a wonderful coffee shop that roasts their own beans and offer excellent pullover coffee! It’s set in a business park, which I would never have seen just driving by. Got a bag of Malawi to bring back for more enjoyment.

Loves the atmosphere, staff, service, and the beverages. I am a chai tea lover. Their chai tea latte is great, both hot and iced. I have had more business meetings here than any other venue in town. Just great place to meet. They do have some outdoor space as well due to covid. And my wife likes their coffee too, which says something.

Courtesy and great coffee...so happy they are weathering the current political nonsense and have remained operational. Their beans are a beautiful way to start each day...

Extraordinarily delicious vanilla lavender cortados and lattes, blueberry muffins are from another world. Beautiful girls with very kind and efficient personalities. Shop is fastidious in their dealings with sanitization and protocols while maintaining a comfortable social atmosphere. Enjoy!

Stopped by here for some coffee based on the reviews and it was worth it. I do wish the pour over came in a cup but the coffee was good. I also liked their toast and jam. The jams tasted like home made. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Husband and I are early birds. Many of the coffee shops in the area dont open till 7am or 8am. Leap opens at 6am and was worth the drive. Great coffee pour overs and the blueberry scone was very good. If you are from the east coast and want a nice coffee shop that opens early, head here.

So good! They make their own syrups! For that I would come back again and again. Ive had the iced vanilla latte and the hot chocolate and so far I havent been disappointed. Staff was nice and patient when I couldnt decide and when I had questions about the food or drinks. Very clean. No outdoor seating, but you can find some seats or couches closer to the back entrance not to far away.

My favorite place to pick up a full bodied coffee. My go to, is their hot honey cinnamon latte with almond milk, half sweet.

Love this coffee and roasting house. Great staff, coffee and atmosphere. Love to hold offsite meetings here and grab an espresso or latte. Staff is super knowledgeable about their drinks and make some amazing special coffee’s. For winter they have a gingerbread latte that everyone should try. Always love to add a pump of their lavender to any drink and If your up for another special try the bee sting.

The coffee is very good here. Prices are a bit high but well worth it. There is live music on Saturday mornings that is great while working and sipping on a latte. Very big inside and lots of room for seating inside and some seating outside.

Leap Coffee is a great place for an early morning meeting. Their coffee is delicious and they get busy so getting there early is key.

Great coffee shop that also sells locally roasted beans. I very much enjoyed the chai latte. Its located next door to the Prager brothers bakery which is a perfect combination.

I like this place because the people are friendly, they roast their coffee on site, and the quality of the beans are top notch. If you are looking for a great coffee place, it is right off of Palomar and Faraday. They have some great sandwiches and my wife loved the tea I got her from this spot.

Best roasted Yirgacheffe Ethiopian coffee ever!!! Though a popular bean offered by many good roasters, Leaps roast was so good, that the blueberry notes have never and will never let me forget...

They have done a great job at this place - looks wonderful inside, and the coffee is great. It is one of the few local coffee roasters here in Carlsbad so I am extremely happy that they are here. That said, its the staff that make this place great - they are friendly, knowledgeable about the coffee they serve, and always ready to help, and I dont think I have ever set my foot in the door without a smiling face there to greet me!

Best coffee in town. Not much else to say. I love Peets, coffee bean, and go to Starbucks plenty since its decent. But this place wins. Theyve got some food options too if youre hungry. Homey feel. Try it out, you will not be disappointed.

Loved the pour over. Very spacious place and seems pretty good for studying. I wasnt there to study myself so I didnt test the wifi but the coffee was good and they have food so thats a plus.

I started coming to leap about a year ago at their original location, and instantly fell in love with their perfectly, non-burnt steamed almond milk and creative food menu. The natural light makes it easy to spend hours working here. Bathrooms are locked. Can’t use the restroom to wash your hands. Kitchen not open. Only serving coffee. Why are you even open?

Ive worked in Carlsbad 3.5 years and just found this place today. My loss. Great coffee, great veggie and egg breakfast sandwich, eco-compostable containers and ware, beautiful interior with a nice view, and friendly staff. Any of these things makes a decent coffee shop. Having all of them is truly a treat.

I learned about Leap in a local tourist magazine and just tried it in the last four months. If you like light to medium roast coffee, this is a gem of a coffee shop. When we are in town, it is a daily stop for us. The pourovers take a little time but are worth the wait! They offer three types of iced tea, delicious but a bit strong for my taste. They offer pastries from Prager Bros., a real bonus. The chia bowl was super yummy!

Lots of room for meetings. Quality pastries and drinks.Lots of snacks and teas from local businesses. JJ the owner was very nice. Put down the green straw and check this place out!

An unexpected gem tucked away inside an office park, this is what coffee shops of today should be. Soft, pleasant music that doesnt prevent you from being able to hear the person next to you in conversation, organic milk for your cappuccino, light and bright atmosphere with couches, tables, benches and an all around open feel. Kudos to Leap Coffee, I wish the coffee shops down on the Coast Highway and Peets in Encinitas would learn a lesson from this place.

Glad to have found a nice local coffee shop. A good place to sit down and sip on your coffee - the interior feels... new, modern, open and spacious. Coffee tastes great. Ive tried Macchiato and Americano so far. I was impressed with the art work on the Macchiato the first time I had it - not so much the following couple of times but the taste was consistent. Will be coming back for more for sure.Try the cold brew! Tucked away in a Carlsbad industrial park, this is a great breakfast or lunch spot. The staff is exceptional and loyal to the owners vision. I like to sit at the large high-top wood community table and blast off from my brew buzz.

STILL GREAT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS ! My wife and I were pretty early customers of Leap Coffee when they commenced business a few years ago. We met JJ & Brandy the super friendly co-owners long before they were even roasting their own coffee beans. Its been a long road and Leap Coffee is still going strong with a terrific range of house roasted coffee beans courtesy of Acer the head roaster & Breanna his assistant. It was great to have a chat with Brandy today after we enjoyed our delicious lattes made by barista Breanna. Its very special to us that Leap Coffee is going strong !

This new coffee place looks FABULOUS. It was great to meet a few of the staff including Shannon, Liz, Annalise and Ryan. My wife and I decided we had to have lunch here today after I had discovered this gem by chance yesterday. We ordered a couple of lattes and 2 delicious paninis. Ryan did a great job on the lattes because they were the bomb.The paninis tasted as good as we have tried anywhere.It was a real treat to have another chat with JJ the charismatic owner.....he is the friendliest dude in the world. These guys will be roasting their own coffee beans soon and a lot more will be going on in the near future. We cant wait to come back.....And we came back last Saturday to have lunch and met Brandy and Natalie. J.J has started roasting his own beans....I had a Colombian pour over.Well done guys!.............Back again early in 2017 and we met P.J and Shannon. Mike made us fantastic lattes and we had a great chat with J.J. This place is one of the best coffee shops in San Diego County without a doubt.
