I bought a 2012 cream Fender American telecaster on consignment there today. Chris, the owner, has allot of repair work waiting on him and too little help. Despite this, he was patient as I took up space and hemmed and hawed over buying the tele (for the second time in two weeks), which he was selling at a fair price. Im a guitar newbie, so I learn something every time I go in. No pushiness, snobbery, snottiness--just good service, advise and knowledge......kind of the anti-Guitar Center. BTW.....I never write reviews!!!!!

Today was my third experience with Woodshed and they are always great. Owner is a highly skilled, knowledgeable guitar repair tech… and is also PATIENT with non-experts like me. Provided a great solution for a chronic problem I was having with my Tele AND replaced a defective switch with something of better quality AND gave the setup a good checkup… all at a very reasonable price and much quicker than expected. In addition, Woodshed has lots of great, high-quality, gently used equipment for sale that is fairly priced and gone over with expert eyes. Highly recommended. This is hands down the best guitar shop in the area for repairs. They also have some great instruments and amps for sale, but its a small shop so their inventory changes often. Give them a chance if you need a repair or if you are looking to add to your collection of instruments or amps. Follow them on social media so you can see some of the awesome repair work they do and some of the cool gear they have for sale.

The work that this shop performs is top notch, and so are the guitars that they sell, and the people who work there. I’ve played for about 15 years, and in that time, no shop has compared to Woodshed. Not even a close second. I have taken two guitars in for repair, and I have bought two guitars from Woodshed. The guitars that Chris repaired came out absolutely perfect. Getting a guitar repaired at Woodshed leaves you feeling like your guitar is better than when it was new. Their prices are not just fair, they’re unbelievable. I just put $80 into an acoustic from ‘66, and I feel like I got a new guitar compared to what I brought in. Genuine care and effort were put into the repairs. The guitars that I have bought from them, whether $200 or much more, are all set up to absolute perfection and play better than they should. These guys get it. This is what a guitar shop should be, run by people who love guitars. And they love your guitars too. I cannot praise Woodshed highly enough. If you are a guitarist, this place will put a smile on your face.

Hands down the best guitar shop in Central Pennsylvania. I go there often for repairs and setups for my guitars, to browse their inventory, and I’ve sold them a few guitars as well. Great and honest down-to-earth people who will tell you how it is and do a great job on your guitars. They’re musicians running a business for musicians. Can’t go wrong with this place.

Stopped by to see if I really connected with any of the guitars in the area. I must say, the service was phenomenal! Chris is a wealth of knowledge, really helpful and an all around great guy. Went to some other shops and came right back to Woodshed. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend you go there.

A friend knew I was looking for a used guitar to learn to play on so he recommended the Woodshed Guitar Works in Carlisle. Chris, the owner, is very knowledgeable and he showed us several nice guitars that would work for me. I purchased a really nice Fender guitar that was in excellent shape and it was a good price. My boyfriend, who is an experienced guitar player, really enjoyed talking guitars and music with Chris. We were both very impressed with Chris. This is Bill Phylliss husband.. This is a gem of a store if your a serious or working musician. I find good deals on new and used musical equipment here. Everything is at a fair price and not your typical stuff. Chriss knowledge and experience is where its at. His repairs are professional and long lasting a true craftsman with years of experience. He has a great deal of unique inventory not your every day bullshit. This store is a good example of what a music store should be. A store run by a musician not just a guy trying to make a buck. I would encourage anyone who has not visited Woodshed Guitars to do so. One thing I like is being able to look online at there inventory by visiting there Facebook page.

The guy seems a little frantic at times, but hes a nice guy. He knows what hes doing and he enjoys it. The selection is very good, and its top notch guitars. What sets this apart from J&W is the fact that he doesnt try to sell you guitars. he doesnt force them on you. Now, he will try to sell them, but not aggressively. I wish the store was bigger though.

I have known Chris for many years now and apart from being a great musician, he is the most skilled craftsman I know. Anything that goes wrong with my guitars, I know he can fix them well the first time and at a great price. I cant say enough good things about Chris and his work. If you are in need of instrument repair, Chris is your man. One of the few who truly understands what the players want and will go the extra mile to bring your baby back to life!

Went in the other week to try and sell my guitar. I asked the guy a simple question, and he basically made fun of me for it. Not a good first impression for a first time customer. Definitely will not go back there.

On the strong recommendation of local musicians, I took my Taylor acoustic into Chris for some setup work and was delighted with the guitar I got back - I had never taken a guitar to a professional before and he demonstrated exactly what a talented professional can do for playability. Since then, Ive brought him a mandolin, another campfire acoustic, and a vintage 70s Epiphone electric guitar, and each instrument has literally exceeded my expectations. Truly the only real guitar shop in the area. Cant recommend highly enough. 6 stars.

The Woodshed is the only true music shop in the Carlisle area. Its the only place I trust to take any of my gear in for repairs. Chris does amazing repair work, and makes sure you have your baby back on time. I find myself stopping in once a week to check out the revolving door of new equipment that passes through. I highly recommend stopping in.

Chris does a great job. Ive had 2 basses in the shop. One for new pickups and the other for a set-up. Also a great selection of used gear.

This is a great shop for guitar beginners, experts and everyone in between. Chris is an expert at what he does and I would recommend going to him for any repairs or advice. WGW is always my first choice and thats where I tell everyone I know to go as well.
