DQ has always been hands down my absolute favorite ice cream outside of my Dads homemade from at least the second thick snow of the season. This DQ with its cute retro look has great treats and a look that will have u hungry for their sweet soft serve before u even glimpse the menu. Hope its here as long as I am so that I may enjoy it with my family and friends for many more years to come.

Rarely told we dont have that. Doesnt participate in all of the monthly specials. Just a full DQ menu all summer. I get what I want when I want it, not just when its the monthly special. Just the Ice Cream and cold treats lineup though, no hot food here.

I love that this is a little stand. However, everyone we have gone for the last two years the ice cream is already melted when they had it to me. They cannot turn the blizzards upside down because they are too runny.

A Southern Illinois tradition! A roadside DQ (only sells ice cream treats, no food) right on the downtown strip of Carbondale. You get your treat, sit on the sidewalk and enjoy the prime people watching in the beautiful weather. Cant beat it.

One of the last of the old classic walk-up window Dairy Queens. Carbondale institution for decades. Not as busy as back in the day but at least they are still open. And somehow the shakes are better at this DQ than any other Ive been too. Love this place.

The lady was very efficient very nice and appeared to place was Queen we was on the outside looking in I enjoy the hot fudge sundae that I had and I think everybody could have a good time there no place to sit just get it needed outside but theres nothing wrong with that.

I had my birthday ice cream with the family. Beautiful time with my daughter and her new friend in the university.

Love this Dairy Queen. Still has the brownie earthquake and its my favorite. Staff is always friendly and fast.

Good location, good ice cream, but I have been there the last 2 times with disappointment in their production of peanut butter shakes. I just finished one now on my walk home, and also paid for extra peanut butter, and could hardly taste any peanut butter. I thought asking for extra, and giving a tip would entitle me to shake I had weeks ago when every taste was peanut butter. I will know better next time because the shake shouldnt be white, it should be a dark tan color.

This is one of the most classic dairy queens you will ever visit, the menu includes items that have been discontinued for years and the staff is great, the walk up service is so classic and the seating area overlooks the downtown area. This is by far one of the best places that you can visit in southern Illinois, but be mindful they are closed in the winter

This is one of the few ice cream only no drive through DQs around. You should stop by for the simple reason that these places are few and far between

This is probably the worst DQ Ive been to. They only offer chocolate ice cream on certain days, or even once a week. Also, their soft serve is not as firm as it should be - to the point they do not serve Blizzards upside down. They tend to skip charity events that the other area DQs participate in. All that makes me glad this isnt a grill and chill location.

This is one of those old 1950s walk up Dairy Queens theyre open when they feel like it they close when I feel like it. With the size of Carbondale this town should have a real Dairy Queen.

Heres the thing, Carbondale DQ. The ice cream was good. But what was NOT good was the lack of CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM. Get this. Ive been looking forward to a DQ Blizzard for months now. I finally get to DQ, ready to order a CHOCOLATE peanut butter blizzard. TO MY SURPRISE this DQ only has chocolate ice cream on Thursdays. Riddle me this: WHY. You are an ICE CREAM STORE which means you should have CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM. Furthermore, what is so special about Thursdays? Why do Thursdays only get chocolate ice cream?! Why not Mondays? Whats wrong with Tuesdays? AND ANOTHER THING: this means yall cant even make TWIST CONES, the fundamental building block of ice cream treats. IN CONCLUSION, the ice cream was good for VANILLA and I am now going to have to wait TWO DAYS before I can even begin to think about getting a CHOCOLATE peanut butter blizzard from this establishment. I will now take questions. p.s. Why do you guys have a geotag for Snapchat but not a chocolate ice cream machine? SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT ABOUT THAT.

They are doing road constuction on 51 so i could park on the road to pick up my food from jimmy johns so i went down a little farther and parked in dq parking lot (there was only one other car in the lot) and the worker opens yhe window to tell me I cannot park there.

The only DQ walkup I have ever seen. Not much to review... the seasonal nature of this place almost guarantees a large employee turnover and its DQ products so they are consistent. You like it or you dont, but this place is some retro fun for sure.

Size was disappointing for the price. Groups of people standing around in front of the store front conversing loudly. Its in a busy area. I would not return.

Im writing this review a month after the fact so I dont remember exactly but I dont remember having a bad experience in any Dairy Queen in this area for a long time so Im just going to put a general description out for a Dairy Queens in the Carbondale Marion Benton area the only Dairy Queen I actually have an outstanding problem with is the Benton Illinois Dairy Queen and thats inside because they have year-round flies constantly going around landing on your food trying to get into your mouth and just flying in front of your face all the other Dairy Queen dont have that problem or least I dont remember them having those problems🎩
