Roger Newsom, the broker I dealt with here, was probably the worst experience Ive ever had with a broker. Totally mis-represented the yacht I purchased after a large pre-purchase build up. Every single system, including the hull itself, on the yacht failed or was failing when the yacht arrived to me. Later investigation revealed the yacht sat in a slip poorly/unattended for approximately 6 years! Supposedly this sailing vessel was a yacht owned by a friend of his and he professed he knew the boat very well. Pre-purchase surveyors he said he could not help recommend due to possible perceived bias but after calling more than a dozen local surveyors all of which stated they no longer do any pre-purchase surveying, I told Mr. Newsom Id be relying heavily on his representation of this yacht. He easily and fully reassured me. What a complete mistake on my part. Roger Newsom proved to be misleading, calculating and wholly dishonest. I cant state this more strongly: CAVEAT EMPTOR!Great Lakes sailor
