This isnt a knock on their customer service, but rather a personal issue I have. I interviewed for a position with this company more than a year and a half ago. I was later informed by the staffing agency that I had been an excellent candidate until I mentioned that I have Complex PTSD. It was perhaps not in anyones best interest to pass that information along to me, but here we are.Not only was this an insult to my intelligence and abilities, but its a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Luckily for them, I am not a litigious person. However, I am petty enough to leave a review based on my own personal experience with this company. At least one person in the hiring process discriminated based on disability.
FactoryMation has fantastic prices and exceptional service. We had an issue with on of our machines, and all the other companies we tried gave us the runaround with inventory and delivery times. Thankfully not FactorMation, the part was in stock available to ship immediately. Our part arrived as stated, and we were up and running with minimal lose of production. Thanks again for great products and pricing.
These guys are great! Very helpful, product always in stock, best pricing out there!
Beware, they can send you a product but wont return it because is too fragile.... I should have read the reviews first. Many other options to buy, but this is not one of them.
Have order enclosures several times and been very happy with the quick, friendly and efficient service. I would highly recommend them. Even their on-line chat is very quick to help you find something.
These guys are real pros. They really know their stuff, and the prices and service are outstanding. I highly recommend them.
Being a business owner I don’t normally leave negative reviews. I understand how important reviews are for customers deciding where to purchase goods and services. Over the years we have installed thousands of dollars of equipment from Factorymation with good results. However, on two occasions we have had issues with faulty equipment which would not be replaced or refunded under their warranty. The first issue occurred with a MCCB purchased in 2013. During the installation of that year we found the breaker would not stay in the connected position. After returning the breaker, factorymation would not supply a replacement. Being committed to the project deadline we purchased a replacement from them. The second issue occurred in 2018-2019 with a Teco VFD failing from a faulty transistor in the control board. We purchased two VFD’s for driving refrigeration compressors. Both have a 2 year warranty. The decision to purchase the drives from factorymation was made after reading the factorymation catalogue, the user manual, and the factorymation “knowledge base”. Both drives were engineered correctly with appropriate protection and accessories. One drive has been in service for 6 months continuously and the other drive was just put online January 15, 2019. Both identical design criteria, protections, and settings. The latter failed upon repowering February 3, 2019 after routine shutdown check. Here are the emails:Hello I bought a vfd for a 1.5 hp compressor motor in September and it has failed. How do I get a warranty replacement ASAP?Unfortunately that is not a warranty failure. The incorrect VFD was purchased for the application.I understand your position to assume that I chose the incorrect VFD for my application, however, you need to consider the following:1. VFD’s should never be sized based upon horsepower, they should only be sized on current and voltage.2. The compressor I am running has a Locked Rotor Amperage of 50.00. The rule is that the locked rotor amperage is five times the full load amperage. That would mean that 10 amps is the maximum running amperage.3. I could understand your position if the VFD selected was not sized to produce the correct amperage, however the 3hp JNTHBCBA0003AC-U- was correct with its 10.5 Amp output.4. The internal and external protection devices in and around the VFD virtually eliminate any sort circumstantial failure. This is one of the benefits of vfd installation.Almost all of my purchases from factorymation have been positive. I hope you resolve this matter in a professional and timely manner. We are going to have tech support call you shortly about this issue. The conversation with tech support was this:The drive was installed correctly, however rotary compressors are not to be driven by their VFD’s. I asked where that was written because I did not see it in any manual or application guide I had read. He proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t written anywhere. I explained that the vfd’s shouldn’t fail this quickly because of the internal monitoring and safety shut downs. None of my explanations were going to persuade him of any other conclusion than it was my fault. I asked if the other drive would fail and he said yes.End of conversation. In my research since that conversation I have been told by competitors that; “a motor is a motor” and it doesn’t matter what it’s driving. All of the competitors that I have contacted say that my compressor application is fine for their drives.I’m not writing this narrative because of a $100 MCCB or a $300 VFD. I’m writing it because this is not how I would ever run my business. Anyone who has a complaint with anything that happens in my business I take it very personally and try to fix it somehow or another. The worst part is that in both cases it was “my fault”. No offering to solve the issues, no recommendations on other manufacturers equipment to help solve the problem.Jason Sands
