I definitely like this Guitar Center a lot. I go there mainly for strings, picks, and guitar repairs. Theyve worked on a number of my guitars from adding a floating Floyd Rose to simple set ups and theyve always done and excellent job with great communication as well. I trust them when it comes to tinkering with any of my guitars and they also have a solid selection of effect pedals as well.
It took quite a while to even be acknowledged by any of the staff, which is weird considering multiple people that came in after me were immediately greeted. It wasnt even busy. I cant imagine how difficult it would be to get any help during the weekend; at least 4 workers that didnt seem to be doing anything completely ignored me. When I did get an associates attention he was helpful, I will give credit for that. The associate informed me that they did not have the item I was looking for (the website said they had it at that location). I also heard two employees mocking and laughing at another customer while being helped at the register. Save yourself some time and just go to another music store or order online. I know I wont be returning to this store.
Worst guitar center ever. Someone rented something in my name and they weren’t supposed to. I tried to come talk to John and work with him. I explained I didn’t sign the contract nor did I rent the equipment and I asked to speak with someone ELSE to resolve the issue. He denied my request to speak to someone else refused to work with me. I got frustrated told john to F off, I didn’t scream or yell he really annoyed me because I asked multiple times to speak to someone else. Im walking away he then threatened to “call the police on me” I guess since Im black I was supposed to feel “threatened” I responded to him and say “call them, I didn’t do anything to you” he then put the phone down then started screaming at me to leave even though I was already leaving.John has terrible customer service. I even asked for a card to speak to the GM about this, he then gave me a different employees card, Catherine head of lessons.
Guitar center Canton! Best GC around! Martin & Eric have taken excellent care of me for years. Not to mention they have the top 1% tech there. Shout out to Shawn May! Ill be back again and again.
OMG, the salesmen that I had helped me out a lot and helped me to save money. I am hosting a Womens Only Networking Event and I needed a mic and speakers. I end up walking out of there with a new record player (in case our WIFI goes out) and more. The used room department is a blessing for me because I couldnt afford to purchase everything at full price.
Ordered a guitar case. Waited 3 weeks and had to call them to see if it was in. Drove 35 minutes to find out the case they ordered was for a different guitar. Got a refund because they said they could not find one that my guitar would fit into.....
As you know there are very few music stores to go to anymore. This was my 1st time at this store and I was very pleased with the service. Eric was a huge help in finding me my 1st acoustic guitar. They were a little low on inventory due to Covid-19. I was still able to find something I liked in my budget. It sure looked like they had plenty of electric guitars. I would definitely recommend this store to a friend.
The store was quietCouldnt find an amp I wanted.Back in the day the place was full of metal heads working. Not anymore
Antonio is the man! I came in to purchase a guitar and he was more than helpful! Any questions I had, he had an answer for. Made it simple and most of all, quick! Will definitely be returning here!Great customer service!!!!
I was very impressed with the repair tech, Sean May. Extremely helpful. Knowledgeable, friendly and patient. Took the extra few minutes to explain what might be wrong and what could fix the problems. And he did! I will be using him a lot in the future for all my guitar repair problems. Exceptional customer service.
All the workers were very nice and extremely helpful. I went to get stuff for my friend as a gift and honestly had no idea what I needed nor where to find it, and they helped me with everything !
Finally have a guitar tech! And blue strings what more need I say...
Im not what you would call a regular customer but I have been to many Guitar Center locations mainly purchasing replacement parts and occasionally drum sticks. All the locations Ive been too are similar. They usually have the part I need at a fair price. The staff are always helpful finding just the right part I need and the stores seem to be well stocked.
The staff here are awesome. Ive never once left this guitar center without a huge smile on my face. They do a great job with repairs, teaching about equipment and just in general being amazing people. They have used equipment of almost any kind available here and have a whole bunch of demo products so you can try things out before committing to them. If you havent been to a Guitar center before I highly suggest it even if you arent musically inclined.
Purchased a Martin acoustic guitar, with a cracked top, from lack of humidity. Did not bother to do a detailed inspection, because they said it was a new guitar from the factory. My luithier was 4 months out, and couldnt get to the repair right away. When he finally got to it. He explained that someone had tried to repair the crack, and did more damage than had they left it.. Management explained that they are allowed to sell them as new, if after they are sold they are returned within 45 days. Even though I got the guitar at a reduced price, I doubt I would have paid that much knowing someone bothch the repair. Management basically said, tough luck, you knew what you were purchasing. This is a clear case of miss representation, and hidden defects. Beware of guitar center and their policies. Dishonest. They claim I purchased it under a clearance tag. Which is BS. This was clearly a used guitar, sold as new! Beware!!
The guy I bought my guitar from originally helped me find Shawn May, who was in the back on lunch. After a few minutes wait (everyone deserves a lunch) Shawn came out and was on the spot ready to help with my G string fret buzz. Within 5 seconds had it diagnosed and with 5 minutes it was fixed and he was like anything else wrong? II asked if it was fixed already and he advised it was. I could not have asked for a better out come after hours of research trying to figure out what was wrong. I owe this guy a large coffee double double next time I am in there.
Best customers service I have ever gotten
Bought a new acoustic guitar (Guild F-240-E). Pleasant staff. Reliable music store.
Could not take in my trade which was unfortunate because that lost them a sale. but staff was nice when I could actually get help from someone. At one point I was standing at a counter for 10 minutes and nobody showed up
Staff was friendly and helpful, Ive purchased 2 Gretsch guitars there are happy with my new guitars. I wish they carried more guitar cases though. Overall ok.
The name kind of says it. Centered around guitars. But, they have other cool stuff too. They have far too much of my money!
There are some awesome employees there that Ive had great conversations with who are always looking for people who may have questions. There are others that have never approached my wife and daughter and are only friendly with me when Im near the big ticket items. Many of their instruments arent setup for optimal playability. I try to shop at local stores exclusively, but if they dont have an adapter or other obscure item, Ill brave a trip to GC.
Went in to buy new strings for my acoustic guitar as well as some guitar picks. One of the younger sales associate was very knowledgeable about the products I was looking for and suggested a new style to try. Loved the new strings I put on my acoustic. Thanks again.
I took my dad guitar there to have some strings replaced and they were fast and even though part of his guitar wasnt functional they still made it work thank you so much
Guitar Center has always been a wonderful place. You can pretty much find everything you need... Unless your son is left-handed. We were able to find him a left-handed electric guitar but there were only two to pick from that were under $1,000. We were also able to get him a left-handed bass however we had to order it through the website and have it shipped to the store so he was never able to actually try it out. Thank goodness he likes the base a lot. But besides that this is a wonderful store for my son to purchase all of his accessories. The quality of the products is far superior to Amazon and the prices are exceptionally competitive. For example, the wall hook that we bought from Guitar Center was about $14. Absolutely phenomenal quality. Amazon had a competitor product for $10 but ratchet quality that resulted in broken instruments. Anybody in their right mind would pay the extra $4. Additionally its great to shop local Whenever possible. The staff has always been completely awesome with us.
I have no musical abilities at all. I wanted to buy a guitar for one of my sons who is in his mid 20s. He is beyond the age of buying some inexpensive item he has learned to appreciate nicer things. So I asked for help and got it the young man went through all the choices in my price range and actually played a little on each one. We decided on one at the lower end of my budget based on how he felt about its quality. My son loves it thanks Guitar Center
This place is great. Great customer service. I will come back.
Good store, large selection, knowledgeable staff and on site and remote lessons.
Always sad when its time to leave store. Musicians PARADISE! Staff is very knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. Great prices! THANK YOU!
Pretty decent selection. Super friendly staff
Amazing place great customer service.
I recently inherited a Hondo electric guitar from my sister. I can tell you this, it needed work. Im talking about blood sweat & maybe a little tears kinda work.Figured id give Guitar Center a call and see if they could help bring some sort of life back to the guitar. They answered the phone IMMEDIATELY with a positive attitude and confidence. I told them my situation and right off the bat they warned me about the waiting time. To me i have nothing but time for this guitar. We talked maybe 10 minutes about the guitar and what my goals were and any idea the condition. My goal was to get it back to when it was like new. Clean up the guitar, fix the fuzzy knobs, replace any broken electronics that maybe broken the whole 9.Few weeks later i get a call from Shawn himself about my Hondo. AGAIN right off the bat, Shawn sounded very educated about guitars and without even ever speaking to this man he knew exactly what my goals were. That speaks for itself when it comes to communication within a business.Shawn also informed me the price range of what the repairs would run me out the door.If there was a book written for customer service might as well be a book written by Shawn himself.I own multiple guitars, ESP/LTD, Les Paul Epiphone 100, Hondo, Fenders, a few Taylors. If your reading this review to find the best possible repair service you found it.Call Guitar Center in Canton, ask for Shawn.Trust me. I trust Shawn and his work. Give these gentleman a chance and the work speak for itself!THANK YOU SHAWN!P.S. my Les Paul needs a little work to.Have a fantastic day/evening!
Awesome I played the drums for a hour on electric drums with my music my fiance picked out and she keep on making requests
Exactly what youd expect in the best of ways! They have a hands free hand sanitizer dispenser when you first walk in and also hand sanitizer placed throughout the store. Staff was pleasant to interact with and helpful. Would recommend to anyone shopping music stuff.
As always, they had just what I needed and were very helpful.
Did not have the guitars I was looking for (D’angelico Deluxe models) but the service was great and I had a good time exploring their other guitars.
Ive been purchasing guitars at this store for many years. When I asked for and received a price match today, the salesman and his manager changed their attitude and became short with me like I was screwing them over. This was my favorite GC, I guess COVID-19 is taking its toll on everyone.
Great prices. Great selection. Great staff...but....to many of the guitars I try out when I visit there are not set up correctly! If the neck doesnt feel right I lose interest quickly and leave disappointed. That ought to be dealt with. Otherwise, its a great Guitar Center to deal with.
This place is amazing and if you need anything for music or even random party stuff this is the place to go. Even if they cant help they point you in the right direction great customer service these people care if your happy or not.
Sales team and repair department are top notch at this location.
As good guitar shops are limited guitar center has the potential to reign supreme but only employs 1 guitar tech so a simple 5 minute job takes a week.God forbid they hire more techs and theyd make more money qnd make people happy.
I only gave it 4 stars due to the lack of inventory in the store. I understand the circumstances, but a bit let down. They had what I needed, but grabbed the last one on 2 separate cords I needed. Basses were limited. All of the top shelf was gone, plenty of guitars, amps were thin, but had a lot of combos. Place was busy, and the help was fantastic!! Im sure they will be getting more stock for their Presidents Day Sale!!
The staff was very helpful. Appreciate the knowledge and the help. They even carried my items to my vehicle for me.
Very helpful & polite!
Update:Killing time and actually found a guitar I liked and bought it.The following still is happening.Ive been to this Guitar Center location many times. My current job and position require that I travel extensively and normally visit other Guitar Centers around the nation and have purchased equipment and guitars on a whim just because of the sound and feel of the guitar. The luthier Shaun I spoke with was without a doubt the most helpful and knowledgeable Bass luthier I have met in a very long time. He showed me an amplifier and Bass I liked, even though I came to purchase a Mic, stand, and recording equipment I had originally come to purchaseWatch for the Sales, i stress this because this is when you score great gear for excellent prices.Take your time, dont be impulsive, unless you are absolutely certain of the purchase. This GC has some extremely knowledgeable people. Take your time and ask questions, you will be surprised what you can learn, just Chill.... Its a large store and so much to hear.Remember the GC sales are people who have good and bad days like everyone else. Dont take everything personal, tomorrow is a new day, plus you may get a better deal the next day.All that being said, if you find something youve been looking for, get it. I missed 1 guitar and have been bummed ever since. It was a $150 guitar but sounded and played great.Last but not least, ask to finance a piece of equipment, 6 months @ 0% interest. $1400 pays off quick.Any used GC equipment can be sent nation wide without any bs hassle.Im 4 Basses deep and just getting started with my collection.
3 people behind the counter and they wont even acknowledge your standing there with your wallet in hand, never again
I bought a guitar and look forward to lessons. They start in january and I am excited. Very good choice in guitars and lots of staff are there to help. Excited
My salesperson was helpful and was about to get me what I needed, right away.
Wonderful service!!! Very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. Bought a Casio Keyboard with pedal and stand, Manager gave me 15% off for not having a box, I thought that was very generous!!!
I call this the good guitar center. Never have I been there and someone hasnt asked to help. Its nice when a business wants your business.
Neiko is a beast. Great customer service.
One of my favorite places to shop!
I love this location staff is beyond friendly to me. Got to demo alot of equipment and nobody was mad. Perfect
Service was great ....selection was meh
Jon the Manager top notch guy
Everytime I come here it is nothing short of a 5 star experience!
Still such a great place after all these years, and has a variety of audio supplies and vinyl.
Awesome customer service and great deals
Super helpful employees and so so friendly!!
Martin the sales person at the Canton Michigan store was very helpful and when there was a mix up with my new Fender Bass at the distribution center he was very accomodating.
Good employees.
You cant help but love this place
Dan was a great employee who helped us very quickly get everything we needed, would recommend.
I had a gift pickup, staff was friendly, helpful, and told me about stuff I didnt even know about my purchase!
Awesome, helpful staff!
Excellent staff very helpful and professional, not pushy not your tyoical salesman left me alone while i browsed thats exactly the way i like it pretty nice to be 900 miles away from home and find people who are more professional than at home thank you guys
Excellent service every time I go there!! Thank you
Playing Stairway To Heaven and Eruption at any amp volume above a whisper is banned at this GC.
They helped pick out things I needed for a new microphone setup, and where very friendly and courteous! Lots of microphones and audio interface selection at this store.
Cool place
Great service, knowledgeable staff. Had every thing we needed
Mostly a waste of time. Went to see about a guitar repair. Took forever just to look at it. Then told me it would cost less to buy a new guitar and they would not fix mine. I took it somewhere else and that place and that place has no problem fixing it and only charging me $75. The only thing I got out of it was I bought some music books.
Awesome nice clean store plenty of instruments staff is very helpful and informative had a great time there.
The staff is great and always super helpful. Two thumbs up.
Didnt go here went next door to Gardner Whites!!
Got my first lessons here and the staff was more then helpful
Employees are super cool, down to help, and go out of their way for you to get what you need. Happy I got a pair of speakers even tho they were out of stock at the AP location so was able to buy in store and pick up at another nearby store. Thanks!
Im having the worst experience with the Canton location. First they sold me an empty box for $1000 . I bring it to their attention and there is no since of urgency to resolve the issue. The Manager is the middle man who dont know anything whats going on. Any Customer should definitely open the box of any purchase, right there on the counter because this store have thieves working their and no one to clean up the mess. Stay away from this location if possible!
This place has been helpful in the past but I went in there recently and it was completely different. It was around 11:30 on a Monday and I went in to see what used items they had. I walked past at least 4 staff and not one of the looked up or said a word to me. One was at the front, another stringing a guitar, another by the drum section and another walking around. Not sure what was up with that. They were not helping other customers other wise I would understand not being talked to.....
Guys at GC were great. Got to play a really nice classical. Much better operation than East Lansing.
Just wanted to thank John and Gabe for their assistance in my new purchase of a PRS Hollowbody Standard McCarty Tobacco Sunburst guitar. They were friendly and helpful. I love this guitar! Thanks guys!Dano @ Bluz Tattooz Waterford
Cool store. helpful staff
Salesperson was very helpful in the drum session while I looked for a drum set for my son. Explained everything clearly and concisely.
Picked up an awesome keyboard 😎
Clean, friendly, good pricing and you can play with most of their toys, and that means instruments. These people are so knowledgeable it is scary and fun. You will learn something if you dont know it and have the courage to ask. They go out of there way to make you feel like your a friend and they seem to have a general bested interest in helping and making you better. If you need anything music related, sound related or just want to see what this place is about I encourage you to step in you wont regret it. Unless you didnt want to have fun or have your love for all things music nurtured.
Great place. They are busy, but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Nice selection of used gear and they often have sales that are a really good value.
Found the amp I needed!
Super helpful and enthusiastic employees. Huge selection of instruments.
This is a great place if you are in to playing music.Courteous and knowledgeable people there.I have been there many times. Pretty well stocked.
Nice deals
One of the best places you have to visit if you love guitar.
Sam was great. He helped me find speaker stands and a gig bag for them. He was knowledgeable about the products, and even gave me some ideas of what I may want to upgrade to in the future. Great selection, reasonable prices. I will be returning to the Canton store, soon
