Was looking for a new place to have coffee during my latest visit back to Canton. Saw Shale in the listings and thought I’d give it a try. Very nice interior, friendly staff. I wish I had had time to stay and have a flight, but only had time for a to go. I finally settled on the Iced Buckeye Latte. Very good, although more ‘sweet’ flavor and not enough coffee flavor. If I go back I’ll probably add an extra shot of two. Overall a great place, would definitely return.

Nice, quiet place. They definitely need more people working. It took over 25 minutes to get one cup of coffee and one biscotti. Coffee was decent and the biscotti was nice and soft.

Love the people that work here and the coffee and food! They have a unique selection of seasonal drinks that you can get both hot or cold! I have liked every drink that I have tried. The bagel sandwich that I tried was amazing and the cinnamon pastry warmed up was fabulous!

First time at Shale. Went to try the coffee flights. Loved Shale atmosphere, friendliness, coffee, and flights. The flights were not overly sweet like many coffee places. The roast flavor definitely came through. Tried Nutella, vanilla, cinnamon roll, and squirrel. Favorite= cinnamon roll. Also tried the babka baked good. Beautiful and delicious. Ill be back.

Enjoyed dinner at Shale tonight. Took advantage of the 1/2 price appetizers, Hummus with chips and Tater Tots. For dinner, we had BBQ Chicken Tacos with a side salad. Each item had bursting flavors and substantial sizes for the 2 of us, we even had leftovers to bring home. (looking forward to lunch tomorrow). The service was top notch. Our waitress was a natural. She new her menu items, and was very friendly and attentive. The manager even took the time to check in on us. We will definitely be visiting again!!

My wife and I have been coming here every Saturday for a coffee, and a chicken and egg breakfast sandwich. The coffee in my opinion is the best in the area and the sandwiches were fantastic. When my wife and I heard on 08/21/2021 that they are no longer doing breakfast from one of the baristas, it broke our hearts as this place was our early morning Saturday mini date spot. The coffee is great and the breakfast was too. Cozy little inside as well.-Patrick Wolf

My husband and I are both mega coffee-people. I’ve been to Shale many times: it’s a great atmosphere, many places to sit and talk/meet with people in a well-lit area, is also a great place to get work done. The baristas are always very kind and welcoming.The sad part is…the coffee just misses the mark. If you like flavored/sugary or more watered-down drinks, this may be a place you like more. The iced lattes are what I normally get and they’re okay. The normal drip coffee or plain coffee is something I advise to steer clear from if you’re more of a “coffee snob”Again, I love the atmosphere and employees of Shale & I’ll continue coming here but really hope to see some more growth with the actual flavor of the coffee offered here.

The barista was VERY nice. My friend and I tried 8 flights of coffee with our 3 kids in tow. She was accommodating and helpful. I love that we were able to sample nearly all of their coffees. I LOVED the habanera mocha. It was spicy but the spice didn’t linger. I would definitely go back.

Food and coffee were amazing! Michaela was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We drove 30 minutes to try this place and will definitely be making the drive again. I ordered sausage gravy & biscuits for my toddler and I to share, the cook noticed my toddler was wearing a mickey mouse shirt and made him a mickey mouse pancake on the house! It was yummy and so sweet💙 10/10

Received wrong food. When it was brought to their attention all she said was sorry and didnt offer to fix it. The burger I got was dry and charred.

Our new favorite local coffee joint! Coffee prices very reasonable, but the quality is much better than the chains around. I had the pulled pork bagel and it was phenomenal. We will be back!

Awesome local coffee shop that my brother didnt know existed. And he lives just up the road. I think hes found a new regular!

They have a good atmosphere and good coffee but the price is really high. I payed 12 dollars for 2 16 oz coffees. Starbucks and the human bean have the same quality coffee for cheaper and you get more coffee. I really enjoyed the coffee but not enough to pay that much.

Horrible. Waitress was totally confused. Took orders two times. Orders came out with some cold and incorrect. Ran out of bacon. Grits were drowning in grease. Manager tried to say it was butter. Gross🤢.

Very new and modern. They have done pretty unique drinks and service was very friendly.

I was so excited to see a coffee shop go up in Oakwood Square, especially one open in the evenings. The coffee is delicious, the staff is great - i’m excited to visit more often!

Their coffee was outstanding. I have not tried their BBQ yet, stay tuned!
