So this is a bit of a long story but here it goes;I called these guys about a screen replacement after dropping my phone while working on a ladder and unfortunately the phone landed perfectly flat, shattering it. They were very straightforward with the price for a replacement and with the exact differences between the replacement screen and the original as well as the different levels. Having done this repair myself several times before combined with wanting to select the exact model and type of screen replacement (not something I would recommend if you dont know what you are doing) I decided to order a screen and replace it myself. However, as I dont do this for a living I didnt have the tool necessary to enable the true tone functionality which, although I thought at first I could live without, really started bothering me after a few days. Having called around this was the ONLY place locally that said they had this tool and could do it so I decided to stop by the store and see if they could help me. Went I went to the store they were both quick to agree to do it and for a very reasonable price. Considering this is not a standard request (and that apple would have laughed me out of the store, assuming the supposed genius even could understand what I was talking about), I was very impressed.TLDR; As someone with over a decade in the computer industry and a degree in computer science, I can tell who knows their stuff and who doesnt. These guys both know what they are doing and are very nice and happy to help.Not only will I be back; which between working as a contractor, and using the phone constantly, Im sure its only a matter of time before I drop it again; I will also be recommending them to my friends, neighbors, and customers, especially since not only is their service excellent but their prices are quite reasonable as well.

I would give 6 stars if I could. Great service/super knowledgeable. During last visit - was sure I had a major screen crack. Luckily turned out to just be the screen protector. Called the shopto get some prices on repairing a iPhone. Tech was very professional and walked me through the process. He informed me of how long it would take and their warranty policy. Jeff is a phone wizard! I have seen him twice now to fix a cracked screen for my Google Pixel, which isnt something they commonly carry in stock. The first time I came in a few months back, he ordered the screen right away and I had my phone back within a few days. When my two year old dropped my phone AGAIN last night, I was devastated that I wouldnt be able to take pictures of my kids on Christmas morning. Came yesterday 9/2 to get screen repaired, service was prompt and professional to top it off a glass screen protector was included with my repair! Very happy customer phone looks brand new and preforms as it should. Not to mention they cleaned my speakers out for me and WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Although I understand its difficult to discern whether or not a cracked screen is the result of a dropped phone and more often than not that is likely the case. However, I know for a fact my freshly installed (one week to the day) after market screen cracked for some other reason. In fact, I would swear on all that I love this phone has not been dropped in these past 7 days. Call it an immaculate cracking if you will but this new, $209 after market, iPhone X S Max replacement screen, installed by Jeff, cracked sometime last night or this morning and with no trauma to the phone.Jeff, although polite, told me there was nothing he could do for me other than to take more of my money to fix the screen again although at a small discount. I had two screens fixed that day for a total of $286.42. Most everyone should know the markup on these phone screens, other hardware and accessories is borderline disturbing, especially when you consider stores like Metro Detroit Phone Repair buy in bulk. This means their profit margins are high and therefore they have far more room to take care of their customers or to consider exceptions than Jeff would have had me believe. This is without a doubt a defective screen or was a less than perfect installation. I realize my circumstance may be considered an outlier but Im not a liar and that is what is implied when a good customer is turned away in a situation like this.If this review gives at least one or two potential customers pause before settling on this particular franchise or repairing their phone themselves, then I will have done my part to protect another potential rip off in my community. Search youtube on how to fix your own phone and search eBay for the correct replacement screen kits. Sometimes they even come with the proper tools necessary to do the job right.If you choose this store despite my review, please feel free to quote me!

My Moto G6 speaker decided to quit working. I called around to a few local phone repair shops and some dont even work on android phones. Metro Detroit Phone Repair had quoted me $50. I ordered the original speaker and was going to perform the surgery myself, but after watching the video I though for $50 Ill get it done right. The quality of the products used here is questionable. The new screen I received completely changed the color of all my photos (people’s skin tone was red) and all my buttons and swiping was messed up. I called the store to ask about it and they couldn’t really help me except to tell me that I should change it in my settings.Which I did and it did not help.But then I had another repair technician (from a different store) open my phone to replace my screen again, they found a loose screw in there and once I got my new a screen put in by the second store, the color was back to normal. so there was something definitely wrong with the new screen I received here. I also had a new battery put in by iPhone repair and the battery was no different from my messed up one. It would die by early afternoon and when I called to complain, all they said was that it was due to the apple software update and that it happens to everyone. So two screens later, I finally got a new phone through my Verizon insurance and the battery is perfectly fine. So again, the battery I received here was definitely poor quality along with poor service.

Cracked the screen on my iPhone 7s plus which is a first for me. I was going to have Apple repair it but decided to go to this store. Cost me $70 and I was in at 7:20 and it was repaired by 8PM. Fast, efficient and inexpensive. Would highly recommend.

We recently visited Metro Detroit Phone Repair after my wife accidentally dropped her Samsung 9 cell phone onto the concrete floor of our garage. The screen was cracked from top to bottom and there was a nasty green horizontal line where the screen contents should be. We thought it was a goner.We called the store where we purchased the phone, and they said they could repair it (for about half the price of the phone and it would take more than a week). I took my wifes MacBook in to have the battery replaced after it was damaged due to water exposure and they took care of it quickly and at a much more reasonable price than any repair shops in the region. I was their yesterday my iPhone 7 Plus didn’t have a screen at all, missing screws, screen, home button, front camera, speaker etc the employee wrote down the parts and how much they would cost on a little notepad, told me how much everything would cost including the taxes, gave me the screws at no cost while some repair shops charge you for missing screws which is ridiculous to me . No hidden fees, no surprises with this repair shop everything is clean and organized and the couches are really comfortable . It took about any hour to an hour and a half to fix my whole phone . The employee was very friendly and outgoing . If you’re looking for a fast, local repair shop at a affordable price . Go here you won’t be disappointed.

Have a Motorola Turbo droid that had a battery needing to be replaced. He looked and ordered the part and repaired it very quick after the parts came in. I also had some concerns about the charging port. He told me it was fine and didnt try to fix it when it didnt need it. My brand new samsung galaxy s10e was saved by the folks at Metro Detroit phone repair!!! After about a week of having the phone I dropped it and the screen shattered. The screen was able to be totally replaced and good as new after only a couple days of just waiting for the part to come in. Im so happy with the great job that was done!!!

I went in on my lunch break to have my iPhone 7+ repaired. Jeff, the owner, was very helpful. He was both thorough and honest in his explanation of the repair process, as well as providing me with my repair options. He did the repairs while I waited (roughly 15-20 min) and returned my phone as good as new. I am very impressed with the end result of the work (and the pricing!) My phone fell from a rollercoaster at Cedar Point, totally shattered. Joe and Jeff were able to completely replace the front and back glass as well as the cameras and Face ID to the point that it looks like a brand new phone. It only took a few hours!! Half star, I would HIGHLY NOT recommend this place to anyone, and I did read through the past reviews and found one similar case to mine, also with a negative review. but I brought in a phone that was not cracked at all but the display would not come on. It first started with just a discolored line going across the screen but then the whole display went out and was black screened. So I brought my phone in here to be repaired and a new screen was put on and I could see everything but then the screen responded for only a few seconds after i left the store then it wouldnt detect touch response and I could only see what the phone was displaying so I went right back in...already kinda fishy that he didnt notice himself because I gave him the password to my phone so he could check to see if there was anything else wrong with the phone...which then he never mentioned to me again if he had found anything or didnt. So right then and there, I kindly asked for a refund and was even still trying to pay a labor fee of 50 dollars and I was only gonna get my phone back as a shell without a screen because he was gonna have to fish through the garbage which should have been kept anyways to get my old screen back which is what I should have opted to do given the ultimate result because I would have at the very least only been out $50 then we nearly argued and bartered back and forth at the very least until I finally and hesitantly agreed to let him put another screen on that I came and picked up the next day...and so at the time I pick up the phone, it appears to be working alright but still acting buggy to touch response a little bit for a little while only to find that the next day during a hot day outside, im using my phone and the screen display goes out while its in my hand and im using it, then I notice a crack starting in the screen which I could only see because of glare from the sun or else I probably wouldnt even have noticed it for a little while...then I bring it in the next day to try and use my warranty and now the guys claiming that this is physical damage so its not covered by warranty and odd thing is I havent dropped it and you cant even feel the crack on the screen, you can only see it in the light.So ultimately, I still have a broken phone which is now even more broken than what I started with...because now there is a crack also where there wasnt before along with the display being out so its safe to say I would have been best off not even bringing it at all...I should have never brought it in to be repaired in the first place, and I definitely should have never let him try to repair it a 2nd time because he fixed it only long enough to break even more than it was originally and become a problem that hes not liable forI would have been best off not even bringing it in for a repair because I let him do 1 repair where i walked out and right back in because it was still broken...then because i got so much resistance about getting a PARTIAL refund, i let him try again which was a mistake on my part and he got the display to work long enough for my LCD to crack versus the screen because ones physical damage and the other isnt so now he wont honor the warranty at all and now has the audacity to say the best thing he said he can offer me is a discounted repair...which leads me to believe he can fix it and hes just trying to leech more money...it sounds like something more fair to me would have been paying for diagnosis to find what is wrong with it, and go from there for the cost. but now I feel ripped off because thats implying that the phones screen isnt even damaged and that is the only thing he replaced. he should have never replaced the screen to begin with since it wasnt even broke and maybe just taken it off to see if anything else was broken like the LCD for example which he claims is whats broken now and not the screen and also the reason i cant use the warranty on my phone. been trying to post this since june and it wont stick so ill keep trying to save other peoples money from this place.

Unfair. Was sold a defective screen that I immediately wanted to return. However the store shut down due to the pandemic, therefore causing a delay for any type of in store returns. Actually for the majority of the time if you called, you would get a voicemail saying that they were unavailable because of covid-19. Once they finally reopened, the clerk wouldnt honor my return because the screen was not pristined, unblemished or like factory new after 1 month of MINOR wear. The wear was negligible at best. Its was not any cracks, chips, or scratches. If this company really expected people to keep your every day phone factory new, then why would a phone repair store exist? The only solution was to pay for another iPhone XR screen. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

I was extremely happy with the service I received from Jeff at Metro Detroit Phone Repair - the work was high-quality, quickly finished, and the service was exceptional. If youre in need of a phone screen repair, look no further. Details for my situation below.I busted my iPhone 7 screen, and Jeff walked me through the options for repair, explaining the pros/cons. He installed the new screen promptly, and I went on my way. Within the first hour of use, I noticed some abnormalities, and called back Jeff - he suggested that I come back in for same-day service to see what was going on. Turned out that the replacement screen had a warrantee-covered defect, a jumpy digitizer, which Jeff promptly offered to replace while I waited with no additional charges for labor (and then he finished in less than 15 min, and the phone has worked perfectly since!). He was kind, funny, patient, and extremely responsive - just what youd look for in a phone guy.

Great job by Jeff! Was able to replace a battery in July on a Nexus 6p and just recently fixed a short caused by the fingerprint sensor that caused the phone to become a brick.
