I’ve used Midas on Ford Rd in Canton twice now and was pleased with the service I received both times. The store manager, Jeff, is patient and polite and takes the time to explain estimates and service options. I received a written quote and on both occasions the work was completed well within the estimated time frame. I went to Midas initially because they were recommended to me by AAA and they do give a small AAA discount. They were able to fit me in ASAP and do the repairs I needed at a reasonable price. I’ve had poor experiences in the past with CHEVY dealerships (Gordon and Mark Chevrolet specifically) taking far longer than quoted to do easy repairs and/or talking down to me as a woman in a car shop. Fortunately I’ve had none of these issues at Midas and will definitely be returning again for any needed vehicle repairs. Another thing I noticed is that the mechanics I saw working there look a bit older. I assume that could mean they have more experience and are working for a place that respects that and hopefully compensates them accordingly. That’s speculation of course but so far I’m a fan of the Canton Midas, it’s clean inside and you can actually see the mechanics working on your car while you wait. I’ll update this review whenever I have my next repairs done, which hopefully won’t be anytime soon!

Courteous enough, but CRAZY EXPENSIVE. I needed a muffler for my 08 Civic, and was told I needed to replace everything (resonator, intermediate pipe, muffler and new mounting hardware) for $845! So took it to Mr Muffler (Westland) who said it ONLY needs a muffler—everything else is fine! And He’s even reusing the hardware! Cost me $275!!! 1/3 the price. No wonder Midas parking lot was empty…and Mr Muffler (Westland) was packed FULL…it was crazy busy there. I don’t have $ to fix things that aren’t broken. : /.

While I was treated respectful and had my car looked at in a timely manner, I could not believe how much they were overcharging for exhaust work. They wanted to charge me $1300 for a new exhaust system that only costs $375 retail. $1k for labor is NOT what it costs to replace an exhaust. I do not recommend going here. Mr. Muffler in Belleville, Mi. does excellent and honest work.

I had a nail in my tire and they were very busy but dave and John found time to repair my tire and fill all tires with air they went above and beyond to help me I appreciate both of them will definitely give them my business again thumbs up to both of them

I dont usually leave reviews but when my wifes truck broke done near this shop I figured Id give them a try. Best decision I made. Very nice people with excellent customer service, waiting room is very, very clean. I asked them to look over the truck to see if anything else needed attention. I already had a list from the dealer but they didnt even want to see it. Told me they will look for themselves. The guys came back with the exact same list and even itemized their findings by most important to what can wait. Very solid people. Very trustworthy. I will be going to them regularly now for all of my vehicle repairs. And the prices are very reasonable.

Service done on 1/25/2021 -Canton Midas - Wow! Howard is wonderful!Such a blessing! He was very attentive to me as a person not just a customer; and then to what my car needed. He did not treat me like I did not know what I was talking about nor take advantage of me because I am a woman (easy sale). Before they did the work - Howard allowed me to see the problem so I could see exactly what was needed. When they were done, (in a very timely manner) he allowed me to see all the done repairs - I was able to see that they used all brand-new parts on my car (I knew I needed/wanted.)He also told /showed and quoted the price of future repairs I am going to need, rear shocks, but dont have to be done at this time - theyre good for a little while longer (I already knew I was going to need). Howard even offered me to get their credit card and make payments on the work they just finished, with no interest. However, because of the discount he gave me - I did not need to get the credit card (I was able to pay the entire bill on the spot).Awesome service, awesome day!!I went home thanking God and feeling so very blessed. Once home I recommended (all 3) of Howards Midas places (with business cards) to my family.And I encourage you to use their services too!!!

They did not have the rear tires I needed on my first visit (I needed to replace all 4), but ordered them, texted me AND called to let me know when they were in. I am so blessed to have chosen Midas in Canton, Michigan. I had a huge mess on my hands with my old car. Ken and the entire staff were beyond helpful to me. Its really hard to find parts for a 1988. Ken made it happen for me! Whatever parts he could not order he made for me. He took care of my windshield wiper blades because they were so old. He even gave me a beautiful chrome tip for my tail pipe. He really cared for my car like it was his car. I highly recommend this Midas location for any of your car repair needs. Good old fashioned service is what you get here in Canton, Michigan at Midas. Thank you Ken :D

Came in for the oil change & tire rotation package. Jeff provided Wonderful customer service. Answer questions very quickly and helpfully. Also they have a clean, tidy and comfortable reception desk which offers free snack, coffee and beverages. They do every possible effort to fulfill customers needs.

Took my car up due too squeaky belt noises, they told me I needed a new belt AND a new belt assembly, said total would be $500. I said no thank you and took my car too the dealership. Got my car back the next day for $31!! What a ripoff this place is.

I had a flat tire but made it to this shop. I had called prior to and they said to come in even though they were soon closing. I walked in, handed the keys to Jeff and in less than 10 minutes had my tire repaired and ready to go. I went to pay and he said there’s no charge. I was so grateful to get home safely in front of the snow storm. I highly recommend this Particular Midas as they are each individually owned and operated! I will definitely be using them for services in the future and recommending them to all my friends and families! Thanks again!

These guys were knowledgeable, and had an easy time sharing what they knew about my car issues with me. They didn’t over charge, quickly went over other issues but didn’t try to up sell anything to me. The way they communicated with me was great and they had my car fixed faster then I expected. If you’re not sure, go with these guys.

Howard (Operations Manager) and James (Mechanic) were courteous and professional throughout our time at Midas. Howard and James confirmed my suspicion regarding a bad wheel bearing and brake issue during a thorough inspection which included photographs as evidence. After completing the work, I immediately noticed an improvement in the noise and performance of our vehicle as it handled like we just drove it off the dealership lot. Im grateful for the completed work and Howards sincere interest in providing the best available products to keep our young family safe.

I called in super last minute as my original appointment was cancelled at another garage. The team at midas canton was able to squeeze in an oil change last minute and had me in and out in an hour. Will be going back for sure!

I have a 2003 car which I know is not in perfect shape. They also showed and explained what my problem was. Great customer service. Did not try to convince me to get services that I did not need. They asked if I wanted a wheel alignment with my new tires. I said no. They said they would check to let me know if I needed one. Turns out that I did not. Other places would have said yes just to get more money.

I am always happy with the service Midas provides. This time, however, I was disappointed to see that no one interacting with the customers had a mask on. When asked why, they literally shrugged and said Trump doesn’t wear them so (shrug). Good car repairs and cheap but no concern for customer health. Will go to a different location in the future.

Recently visited for a brake flush. The man at the front desk was pleasant and was constantly was ensuring that my service would be finished as soon as possible. Was out in about an hour. I plan on returning for future services. Only complaint was the mechanics were a little inconsistent with their mask wearing. Otherwise, solid service!

I bought wheels and tires, next door at Discount Tire. I had arranged for DT to drop my truck off at Midas after they installed the new items. They told me it would be no problem. They dropped the ball but Midas, specifically Jeff, picked it up and ran it in for a touchdown. He picked up my truck, fit it in to their busy schedule and finished it before the end of business. Even though they were busy, they were still able m get me in for a wheel alignment after got tires next door at discount tire. Very happy with the service and treatment I received.

Called and asked how much to put a cherry bomb(35$ part) on my car. Clowns said 300-400$$!!! Went and called and ma and pop shop and had a flowmaster 40 installed for 130$ parts and labor included. Do yourself a favor and take your car to a private owned business and not these scammers. Ma n pop store told me they woulda charged 100$ to put a glass pack on then told me why not just got for a flow master for 30$ more.

Never ever trust them with the parts. Theyve charged me twice the price of every part. I gave one star just for the labor work.

My experience was great. The staff at this location are very knowledgeable and extremely fast. I highly recommend this location if your in the Westland area. Jim is a lead mechanic at thus location and hes actually great and very down to earth. Hes been in the buisness for a while and offered me personal insight, which I appreciated. The store manager is pretty good with people aswell. I give this store 2 thumbs up. Definitely give them a try. Pricing was a bit of a challenge at this place. Pretty reasonable, however, tried to have them beat another quote I revived from another location and they want able to do much.

!!! DISCLAIMER !!!Review based on my experience with Howard only. I have never had a repair at this midas.I had a dealer repair quote for my Jeep that I took to Midas hoping that they would beat the dealers pricing.Unbeknownst to me I queried the wrong Midas, because two months prior I had a squeak in brakes so I took them to Canton Midas for inspection.Upon meeting Howard for the brake inspection, I felt his bad vibes. He stared me up and down and was extremely short in conversation. Im not good with cars or know mechanical jargon so when Howard began to explain the squeak, I noticed his impatience and he began to be very condescending.Today going in for fluid exchange service I met the same Howard as I met two months prior. Indifferent, rude, and with bad energy.I also will be emailing corporate. The level of not feeling welcomed at this midas is nauseating. I would hate to think that race played a factor for Howard.

Midas uses a ripoff finance company called EasyPay. Midas also charged me for parts that were not reimbursable after review of my insurer. Currently, even after the repair when I have to make a turn you can feel and hear my wheel joint creak. The rates charged were higher than what was quoted. I really needed my wheelchair accessible van. They took advantage of my urgent need and I will never use Midas again. It makes me so upset everytime I have to pay my biweekly bill! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MIDAS OF CANTON, MI because of my experience.

Tech damaged the fender of my truck when pulling it into the bay. Owner offered to pay for all the damages. We were in from out of town and had a water pump, fan belt and pully go out. They repaired the items but caused a wiring Harness to pop out of the clips and as we were driving home it got caught in the fan and caused damage to the fan clutch costing $1,600 damage owner paid for the damage repairs but later refused to pay for the full fender damage repair. Saying they were not responsible for the other damage they already admitted to and paid for. Then threatened to take me to court and sue me for the $1,600 they already paid.

Went in for bad sounding back brakes. Was going to be double the price if I needed new calipers, the mechanic said he can fix the old ones, it almost saved me half the bill. He could of said sorry u need new ones. I am a female so of course I’m always waiting for the worse price scenario, I was so pleased that this place didn’t try and take advantage of me. When I told my neighbor how much and what they did, he said that was extremely fair! I will be going here in the future! Thanks Jeff and staff!

If i could give it zero stars I would. The ac compressor needed replacement. They said they also needed a new expansion valve replaced and a new ac condenser with drier replaced for ac to work and quoted me $2700. I took it to another mechanic and he did an ac flush and charged With freon and now the ac works.

My go-to Midas for oil changes and any other vehicle maintenance. Always very helpful and knowledgeable. Great service for sure!

This shop is great. This shop has outstanding service and does quality work. With a limited budget, I can always count on them to shoot straight with me. They tell me what needs to be done in common terms. They tell me if it can wait until next paycheck or if it is a has to be done now thing. Ken Saylor, the manager knows me by name when I call and when I come in for service. Always great when you have a local shop that you can trust. More than once Midas has saved me when it comes to fixing my cars. They also are honest when it comes to fixing the cars and when to say its not worth it. For a shop to say its not worth it and be out a sale rather than just fix it and make a buck...thats genuine service. And that is why I keep taking both my car and my wifes car back again and again. Honesty, integrity, great customer service and quality work. What more can you ask for?

The service was exceptional. I drive an older car. They were very knowledgeable, conducting a complete inspection. The repair time was more than reasonable as was the price. They even understood that I could only afford to repair one issue at a time and helped me to prioritize for safety. I will definitely return and recommend them highly.

Very good service and workmanship! Ken is friendly and professional and has helped me prioritize maintenance and repair work for my 13-year-old car. Technician Sam is very knowledgeable and thorough. I always feel safer when I leave there. I appreciate the detailed explanations I receive for recommended work.I love the coupons I receive from Midas! I signed up for the emails and receive coupons on a regular basis. Even a simple oil change is a great deal with a Midas coupon. I cant think of any reason why I would want to go elsewhere for auto maintenance and repair work. Nice job, guys!

Went to this business to have my A/C and wheel barring looked into. The pricing was fair. Customer service ok, but my tire was making a worse screeching noise afterward that it didnt make before and upon getting my A/C repaired elsewhere, they stated my compressor was left unplugged.Very disappointed. I likely wont be visiting again.
