Adam Id the most helpful VW mechanic
ADAM KNOWS WHAT HES DOING! take your Vintage VWs to him and hell get them running better than ever. Honest Pricing for Great Work! When going here, GPS will take you to behind the building, but you need to get to the entrance on E Hacienda Ave! :D
I brought in a 2007 VW Bug for a mystery coolant leak that was not easy to find. The folks at Kirkwood VW were very nice and the did find the leak and got it fixed fast but the price was absolutely insane. They charged $480 for an $80 part! I understand tacking on a bit of markup for sourcing and ordering a part, but $400 is just outrageous. The labor cost and other things like fluids were also on the high end, but not as egregious as 400% parts mark up.
Awesome service!!!Took my 2010 GTI to this place after Capital VW (crooks) was going to egregiously overcharge me. ADAM was so awesome and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly and the total price to fix was literally two thousand dollars cheaper than what was origionally recommended. So grateful to have found this place. Coming back for any and all mechanical problems!
Adam saved my car!! I went to some other place to get my car fixed and they did more harm then good and i was without my car for a week! So being completely PISSED OFF I took my car to Adam and the rest is history. He fixed everything those other people were suppose to do in just a few short hours and for a very good price. Thank you so much Adam :)
Adam is extremely knowledgeable. If it’s VW related, he knows his stuff. I’ll be back for all of my service.
Honest assessments, friendly people, fair prices. Will continue bringing our Jetta to them!
Kirkwood VW is the only place I take my VW’s. They are dedicated hard working chaps that know their stuff, and very honest as well. What else could you ask for in a mechanic? One of my cars was having some electrical issues and also needed some TLC on the engine. Kirkwood got my car running like a top.
Best vintage aircooled VW repair shop youll ever find! Been to plenty of mechanics and none of them can compare to Kirkwood. Took a Karmann Ghia to Adam years ago to install a new pair of dual carbs and it ran perfectly. Recently took in a 1972 bus to get my dual carbs tuned and its running better than ever. I live all the way in Gilroy but its worth the drive for sure!
They got me in and out, fixed the issue without alot of Bs!
I bought a 74 Super Beetle in January 2012. It had been sitting undriven for some time. A buddy of mine through BLTN suggested Kirkwood VW. I was able to get a same-day appointment, which ROCKED, and have it looked at. They spent several hours inspecting and fixing. I was able to work out a repair plan and timetable with them for a few bigger things that needed to be addressed.Honest work. Reasonable rates. Understanding people. It was awesome! Highly suggested!! Really.
Owner is very chill, and he knows what he’s doing.
Go to place for an aircooled VW!
I found Adam at Kirkwood VW from the excellent reviews here, especially with working on vintage VWs. I recently purchased a 1958 VW Beetle. A survivor car in pretty good condition. I wanted to have Adam go through it and do a tune up, adjust the valves, etc. He quickly found a problem with the carburetor and replaced the spark plugs. Said the valves were right on, so no need for a valve adjustment. How honest is that ? Most shops would have charged for a valve adjustment anyway. He also replaced my stuck choke cable and a few other things. The bug is running fantastic now. I dont normally write reviews but had to write this one. I highly recommend Adam. Hes a great mechanic with a high attention to details. Also fair pricing as others have said. Thanks again Adam, much appreciated !!
