This market has the best salads to go. I love their garden salad and I usually pick up some fruit, water, and dessert too. I look forward to going there because they always have good foods and a variety high quality items. I occasionally pick up flowers there and they also make me happy. They have a parking lot across the street which makes it easy to stop there on my way to work. The checkers are nice and I know they hire kids from the high school. One of my favorite students that I tutored worked there the summer before going to college. She’s a super awesome person so that’s another reason why I like this market. They contribute to the neighborhood.
Super budget friendly meals on the go.
A neighborhood grocery store that has it all. They sell liquor and have a deli area where you can grab something for a quick bite. Friendly staff.
Broadway market nice supermarket, friendly staff, good food, I been working with Harvard University for almost 20 years, recently I walked in there for the first time to give it a shot, I had a great experience, from know one I will be stopping there for my breakfast and lunch, and for others items.
I recently bought a caprese salad for lunch and on the surface it looked fine. Expiration date said it was fine for about a week and the everything you could see from the outside looking in was good. However in-between and underneath the tomatoes, cheese and fresh arugula was just wilted and old arugula. I didnt notice the change in quality until I got past the surface layer and tasted the disgusting old arugula and then nearly threw up. I used to love grabbing lunch at Broadway before the pandemic but this is just awful now.
I went in to buy a cake and some wine for my friends birthday because Broadway has great prices for their cakes. My cashier, Nabiet B. according to my receipt, was super helpful with putting rubber bands around the cake so the cover wouldnt pop off and was great about helping me figure out how to bag it with the wine so it would fit into one bag. She was really friendly and reminded me of why I love shopping here :)
Nice market to pass through. Great ambience.
Great selection. Good prices considering the high quality of food. I love that much of the packaging is compostable or sustainable and I buy more because of this. Friendly workers too.
Recently bought a box of chicken, beef, and rice from their lunch bar. Everything was okay, but I wish they could let customers put their meals in their box with gloves on (like Wholdfoods). With the staff constantly asking what I need, I didnt have time to choose what I wanted as I was pressured to choose the items quickly.
Great food long time favorite market in Cambridge.
Very friendly with a good selection.
I did not want to leave this review, because I know times are hard during the pandemic and the staff are quite nice, but I have simply had too many occasions of buying or seeing items past their expiration date. I once bought mascarpone that was expired, and today while shopping I saw a whole stack of expired yogurt, and expired tortilla chips. When shopping here, you should check the date on every item before putting it in your cart. I hope the management can address this problem.
Good selection but prices make Whole Paycheck seem like a bargain.
When you combine a fresh daily buffet, great organic foods market, excellent wine tasting and an amazing crew to hold it all together, you have broadway marketplace. Zooglebay.com
Great neighborhood Market and take out place. Love the California chicken sandwich. Great selection including wines from less common countries. A bit expensive. Better for buying things you forgot during your weekly supermarket trip
Good centralized place for snacks and alcohol!
The morning breakfast buffet is on point
Did not know how to adequately use this star rating system for this complaint, but the hours on google currently are listed until 8pm for sunday. After my roommate and I made the 25 minute walk to get groceries at 5:30PM we found out that the grocery store was closed. This resulted in nearly an hour wasted on the trip to and back. Please update your current hours on google. Thank you.
Great local grocery store with friendly service!
Broadway is always a delightful place to shop. The staff are friendly and kind.During this crisis, Broadway is more than adequately stocked with supplies. It has become our go-to store for milk, produce, bread, toilet paper, juice, snacks, etc. It’s a wonderful neighborhood store and they’re dedicated to serving their community and helping us all to sustain ourselves during this indefinite period. Now more then ever our local and small businesses need our support.Thank you, Broadway, for taking care of the community. Thank you for all you do!
OMG! So much food... Taste awesome on everything. I love too eat there
Next paragraph is my first review, this is the update BRAVO BROADWAY!!!!!! You turned it around, good quality and no more expired food! Loving the new management 😁 I feel happy and SAFE supporting this local business now that these new folks are in charge! The staff can be wonderful and super helpful. Especially the cashiers and the folks in Deli. However GET the expired food off the shelves! Its absolutely horrifying! I dont know how the Board of Health hasnt closed that place down. I find expired food almost every time I go in there. Ive even brought in it to them, then found what Im pretty sure its the same item on the shelf a few days later. Its convenient as its located in Harvard Square but man that convenience comes at a cost... Hopefully not to anyones health! Fingers crossed they will pay more attention to an online review than to in person efforts.
One stop centre for home groceries, cheap price & friendly staff.
A bit expensive
Extremely convenient for Harvard students. Went here for a speech and debate tournament and they sold meals much better than those provided by the campus.
Whack prices. 7.99 for a pack of Oreos?.
If you have asthma dont go in this store. Also if you want to buy items that are clearly marked, then dont go here.
A genuine neighborhood grocery, not part of a chain as far as I know. Selection is great, especially for its size. Includes a salad bar, deli counter, hot lunch station, and a liquor store. Emphasis is more on Italian specialties than natural/organic, but the chocolate selection is fab.
Nice like bodega with some good options. Definitely more expensive than a grocery store, but they have a hot bar and good beer and wine selection. Dont be afraid to ask the owner for a recommendation of what to choose.
Love this market - super easy to get to. Has its own parking lot, which is rare in Cambridge. Its right next door to a Starbucks. I wouldnt do all of my food shopping here, but its good for a quick bite to eat, or even your milk and bread.
No complaint. You can get 10% discount with Harvard or MIT IDs over the weekend.[edit: glad to learn that Broadway Marketplace has a rare grocery item, Singha (Lion) beer.]
Great.
Small grocery with hot food, sushi and deli. Awesome spot to snag a snack in the area or pick up light groceries
Other than the new wave of bratty Globalist cashiers here, this remains a Harvard neighborhood gem. Old time staff are helpful and some of the new ones too.
Good assortment of items but expensive fruit
Just bring every1s wallet when yu go here
I am so grateful to this market which is a treasure to our community. They have stayed open through man-made and natural disasters, always welcoming and there to help us through!
Convenient location, no parking if you are from out of town and very expensive.
A little pricey, but a wide range of fresh produce, other groceries, wines, beers and liquors. The crew is always friendly and helpful. All in all, its a great little neighborhood market.
Update: I tried some orange chicken from the buffet, and unless things have changed, their buffet is even more expensive than Whole Foods buffet - which actually has almost universally good food. This was the worst orange chicken Ive ever had. Mall food courts, any takeout place in any state Ive lived in (several), Panda Express, etc... All had better Orange Chicken or any variety of Americanized, Asian-inspired chicken. It was comparable to frozen Orange Chicken from Trader Joes or Costco. You cant emulate Whole Foods crazy prices +10% while serving frozen food equivalents. Well you can, but people will leave horrible reviews like this and hopefully youll be forced to both lower prices and provide a decent product. The 2 stars are solely for the deli counter/sandwich bar. They are the saving grace of the entire store. They deserve more, but the rest of the operation is dragging them down.Prior 3 star review:The sandwiches from the Deli counter are good and a decent deal, but never buy the pre-prepared ones. Theyre much worse. For things like milk, soda, produce, alcohol, etc its probably the most overpriced store Ive ever been to. Move aside Whole Foods and overpriced convenience stores! If I recall correctly, this place sells a gallon of milk for $5.50-6. The prices are so insanely high that it would be hard to ever justify the convenience of this location.
Its really good here. The prices reflect the quality of the product. Its expensive. They offer a discount for people with a Harvard University or MIT student ID on weekends.
Extremely convenient location and well-stocked. The interior is much larger than it would appear from the exterior. Great wine selection and friendly staff. Dont plan on shopping here like you would at Wal-mart though, items are pricey, but justified by the rent the owners likely have to pay for the location.
The guy who runs the liquor/beer/wine area in the back always has great recommendations. Great neighborhood spot. Glad to have it near my house.
It’s a rip off. Don’t go there! Overpriced is an understatement, go to market basket (15 min walk). Broadway Market often charges higher prices than written on the products, because most discounts are not updated in their system (I believe it is intentional). The quality of the products is poor. I don’t trust the hot bar at all!!!
An amazing tiny grocery store that has a gigantic selection. They have regular grocery items like milk, bread, eggs, etc., but they also have sandwhiches, sushi, beer, wine. There are small tables inside and outside to sit down and eat. A great place to grab a quick bite or stay for a while.
The cooked food I bought was extremely yummy. Mashed Potatoes and Chicken wings. Very generous sized wings I must say. If you are too tired, or not in the mood to cook, and you dont mind spending approximately $10 per lb, then give their cooked meals a try.
Interesting mix of stuff. Prepared food, convenient store stuff with an elevation. Why did they give up the banana pudding? Augh! Its a nice place and there is parking across the street. Its a strange flow to the place like all the drinks are in different location that make so sense. I had to wonder around the entire store to find a drink I wanted with my meal-odd but other then that it is good. They seem to do a lot of take out with their food bar.
The best of the best has everything you need or want, from meat eaters to vegetarian and everything in between. I give them 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ across the board, it is just awesome.
I love this place. Great food, Great people!
Nice local grocery. Expensive, but its a small store near Harvard so what are you going to do... Nice wine selection. Staff is always exceedingly helpful and friendly, and the student discount on weekends is a plus too.
Great supermarket. They had everything I needed, and helped me find it
A decent selection of goods. Prices are reasonable. If I lived nearby, Id be happy to have this places selection of ready-to-go foods.
Great variety and good customer service.
Convenient market offering food, snacks, grocery items and a deli counter.
I enjoyed some of the pressed sandwiches, sushi, and large selection of fresh drinks
Extremely expensive, this store is mainly for privileged folks with tons of money to spend. Hot plate 10$ per pound 😟, and everything else is at least 1$ more than any other marketplace...even whole foods is cheaper than this place.
Awesome. Terrific all around! I will return, frequently.
A little bit pricey, but the closest grocery store to Harvard Square.
It’s too over priced. I like their hot bar, but they go by the pound. 99 cents per pound I believe is the way they charge you. And their sushi isn’t authentic. The only great thing they have there is the bagels. Just the bagels. Don’t bother trying to get their cookies or pastry. Trust me because they can get you sick. I once saw this worker drop an M&M cookie onto the floor and then picked it up and placed it back into the shelf. Yuck.
Love the fresh food that is available to carry-out.
The hot bar is decent, but not quite top quality. The pricing is way too high.
Nice city market, with a good variety of prepared foods, wine, grocery. I like the locally produced items.
Great place to stop by and get dinner before class!
I have been a customer for years. This store has grown from a tiny badly lit space to a high priced bodega style store. The alcohol and groceries are a bit pricey but that is often the case in smaller more intimate stores like this. The management is incredibly helpful so if you had a bad experience with a cashier reach out to them. The cashiers are young and and some of them love there social life but they are sweet too. A manager is often on hand to quickly respond to issues lately. I have had a few bad experiences some my fault and some due to rude cashiers and others laws about alcohol purchasing. Here is a tip about alcohol purchasing in MA all the adults in your group must have a valid ID to purchase alcohol there are signs all over the store stating this. The store is very closely monitored due to its proximity to a school.
Good variety for a smaller store - its a tad on the expensive side but everyone there was polite. Id go back but not go out of my way to go here. I did not try any of their prepared foods which is what some of the reviewers really tout.
Too expensive!
Fairly expensive, small selection but one of the few places in Cambridge that can sell alcohol and groceries. Most of the cashiers at the checkout barely have time to break from their busy schedule of texting and socializing with each other to help you, and when they do its begrudgingly and slowly, so expect a slow moving line and a teenager who dislikes you because you made them work for money. The stickers and managers are friendly, though, and on weekends theres often a tasting table for alcohol.
A great variety and quality.
To be perfectly honest I was just meeting someone there but I did stop and Starbucks and it was as good as expected.
Just your typical market. Whole foods is better tho they have good variety here.
Great staff but prices are a bit high for any of the produce as they are organic.
Great breakfast buffet with unique choices like fried plantains. Its also right next to a starbucks for you coffee bagadoos
Staff is pretty good but I found some cockroaches on the bagels.
Really good selection for the size but crazy high prices.
Great Ribs! Dessert options are good! Friendly Staff
Cambridge prices, limited selection for a grocery store, very convenient, free Starbucks WiFi
Not so great. Selection is off. Good beer and wine section tho.
Small but nice and clean supermarket in Cambridge with customer parking lot.
Great, had what I wanted
Conveniently located. Bread selection could be better.
The Food here is great!
Good place to buy gifts
Terrible experience. Really unfriendly staff that‘s watching after you and talking to you like you were a dog. Really disappointed.
Has a huge selection of wine at reasonable price.
Words cant describe the food, its incredible
This place was good but it is closed down.
Fun selection of beverages.
Good selection for a smaller grocery store. Especially the beer wine and cheese.
Bit pricey but great neighborhood market.
Self serve breakfast good sandwiches
Pricey but great for close by shopping.
Very hipster/all natural, good for produce
They had everything I needed, and helped me find it
My daughter says she loves this place because it has a salad bar and she likes salad and it has cookies and ice cream and good vegetables.
Good food and many options. Kind of pricey
Ok
