I called the Harvard location twice and was on hold for over 30 minutes. I left a message requesting a return call but no one called me back. The Visionworks systems are not connected so I have to go to another location with my prescription, pick the ones I chose if it’s available, and pay for them there. Do not waste your time with the Harvard Square location.
Customer service is fine when physically inside the store, but very poor if youre trying to call or anything else. I went in recently to get a copy of my glasses prescription. The person there wrote the incorrect expiration date on my lenses (she wrote that the prescription was prescribed in March of 2021 which was correct, but that it expired on the very same day in March of 2021. People make mistakes, whatever), so when I took the prescription to buy glasses at another store, the store could not immediately order my glasses. The store reached out to visionworks multiple times for my prescription, with no response. I have tried calling visionworks and have been on hold for over a half hour. Unacceptable. The only reason this isnt 1 star is because the people there are nice.
Dr. Wu-Freeman was great and got through the exam in no time at all. There arent a ton of lenses there, but I thought the ones they do have were all nice. The associates were nothing like some of the reviews Ive read here, and to me they just came off like normal people. I was in and out of there within 20 minutes of my appointment
Terrible service, just horrific. Employees are clearly lazy and unwilling to help. This branch is the second one I see closing and, if they keep up this type of service, I’m sure I’ll see others ones follow that path. I surely won’t be a customer by then.
Lousy Customer Service, Only average product.Went here to select glasses, and found the staff to be apathetic and uninformed. When I finally got my glasses, they didnt fit and no one tried to help me make them fit. I had to return and have them fit, and the job was rushed and careless. Also their hours were misprinted online, so they had attitude about having me come in. Would not recommend.
I enjoyed the thoroughness of Dr. Wu- Freeman in explaining the details of my prescription and eye health. I was very impressed in the new technology of taking images of my eye and she took the time to answer all of my questions without rushing the appointment. Overall, I would see her again next year for my annual eye exam.However, when it came down to selecting new frames, I didn’t receive any help from the associates even though I would have appreciated getting some feedback on what would have worked for my prescription and face shape. I stood around waiting for someone to acknowledge me, but not once did anybody ask if I needed help. I finally was asked if I was all set (after 20 minutes of finally deciding on the frame I wanted) and the woman was able to check me out. Luckily, I already knew what lenses to get, otherwise, I feel like she wouldn’t have taken the time to explain to me what lens would be best for me.I just came today to pick up my new glasses, and again, the customer service was sub-par. After telling the associate my full name so she can dispense my glasses, she brought me some other person’s glasses and didn’t even apologize for it. When it came down to dispensing my actual glasses, I wish she took the time to adjust my frames (other than bending down the temple tips), but at that point I just wanted to leave.Overall, I would only come back to see Dr. Wu- Freeman and purchase my glasses elsewhere.
Dont go here. Very difficult to speak to anyone in the store without being placed on hold and routed to a call center. Customer service is also unable to contact the store. Office and doctor did not keep accurate records of visit information, which led to inaccuracies in prescriptions. Would not recommend.
Dr dung is the best optician i have been to! and i’ve worn glasses for 15+ years.. i thought the store associates were very helpful and friendly in picking out sun glass frames that would look good with my rx. thanks!
Do not visit this store. One of the worst places for eyeglasses. It was my mistake that I did not see the reviews initially. The staff here is extremely rude and can make your experience and day worse. We initially called and confirmed if we could exchange our glasses brought from an another Visionworks store and they mentioned Yes you can. Went there and selected the glasses and after wasting about 1.5 to 2 hours the lady says It would be tough for us to exchange as I am not aware about the policy and would have to do research. We selected a frame and she says this frame is not a good fit for you. The lady is extremely unprofessional and you can say she does not know what she is doing there at the store. The staff is highly incompetent and if you have an issue with your glasses you may be on your own. There are various other good eyeglass stores in the area. Please save yourself a nightmare by not visiting this store. Also the quality and available frames are not par.
I dont understand how this place is still open, as the service of the employees is horrible and it seems like they are doing the buyers a favor because they dont care to serve you cordially, a lady with long hair attended my family and was very cold without charisma or no willpower at all. We dont take 3 glasses just for the service. We will not be returning and we will never recommend this store to anyone. If the service is not good for you, change jobs or leave your problems at home.
My experience at this location was the worst evere .I dont where to start from, customer service at the front desk very rood and not welcoming they are so cold .
Jefferson, the manager, and rest of the staff are top notch. My wife and I have gotten our contacts and glasses at this location for the past few years.

I wanted to look around for new set of glasses. I was told that i didnt have an appointment to look around. Unless I was looking to buy today. How would I know if I would find something I like to buy today? Plus there was no one in there.
Terrible Customer Service!
Do not go to this place. They charged me for something that I didn’t know I was getting and made it sound that is free at the beginning. The staff who checked me out was rude and tried to trick me into buying more products that I didn’t want. I end up getting charged 60 dollars for a contact lenses fitting and didn’t end up getting contact lenses.
10/10 would recommend. Great customer service, I recently got my contacts there with NO problems whatsoever, I’ve been one of their customers for as long as I’ve had glasses and have never had any type of issue with my prescription, orders, exams, etc. The staff is very professional and kind which is important to me because I’m very antisocial and going to unorganized places is never fun for anyone. The only gag is that there’s no parking but honestly would you rather be lazy or have an amazing experience every time you go to your optometrist????
The other reviews about terribly rude customer service are accurate. I showed up 15min late, and they refused to take me, which is whatever and understandable if they have a tight schedule. I apologized and asked to book another appointment. In this 5 minute encounter, the two front staff members rolled their eyes multiple times and thought it was appropriate to exchange remarks about “he just showed up” with a third staff member. There are plenty of alternatives in the area to choose from who know how to treat customers.
Tremendous customer service. Very knowledgeable and attentive doctor. I have been a customer for years and will continue to be. I highly recommend Visionworks in Harvard Square.
What a fantastic experience! I visited the store today in the hopes of having someone take a look at a pair of glasses I got from a different Visionworks location. I was expecting to get turned away, but instead I was greeted by Alfreds friendly face. Alfred was so kind in taking the time to find out what was going on with my glasses, both him and Adam didnt give up until they found a solution to the problem. I couldnt be more grateful to Alfred and Adam for patiently fixing my glasses and walking me through the possible reasons that could be causing problems. Im definitely coming back for my next pair!
I use to go to a different optical store but this is my new home. Outstanding service and knowledable staff. I highly recommend you try this Visionworks. You will not regret it..

If I could give zero stars I would I called two weeks ago to make eye appointments for myself and my husband when I called a few days before they told me that only one appointment was made so we ended up canceling that one and making new ones for this coming Saturday I just got off the phone with them and they have no appointments for us for Saturday there was no manager to talk to and no one could rectify the situation this place SUCKS !!!!!! Don’t waste your time or your money!!!
Very horrible eye doctor service ad customer service. They never care about the patients’ feeling and needs, but are only interested in how much they can earn!!! Highly recommend NOT to do your eye exam or get new glasses there!!! If you insist on doing it, then good luck!!!

I have been going to this Visionworks (when it started as Cambridge Eye Doctors) for nearly 27 years and have never had a problem here with customer service. The staff have always been very helpful and given me various options to save money on contacts and glasses. The doctors are knowledgeable and efficient; Dr. Hauser is wonderful (and very humorous to boot.) Last year when my contacts (special order) didnt arrive for a month (shipped from UK) they gave me extra soft lens samples to tide me over and the company they ordered from gave me an extra 90 day supply for the delay.
Ive been a once before years ago which was exactly what I needed, but tonight was one of a kind! A comfortable experience and incredible customer service ! I am so relieved to have new contacts and was taken such good care. I forgot the Drs name but he was remarkable, efficient, understanding, and a true professional! I dont have health insurance and vision works provide the best prices in the area. Trust me I went to different places and asked ! Highly recommend!!!! Im coming here every year or when I need anything to do with my eyes!

My experience at this VisionWorks was fantastic. It was quick, clean, and simple. Dr. Hauser was incredibly helpful and offered me advice to get disposable contact lenses rather than waste money on additional pairs of glasses for everyday, work, and athletics when lenses can cover them all.Then, an associate spent time with me working on taking in and out my lenses as a first time user. They easily help me place an order and notified me when the lenses has arrived.
Went to Visionworks Brattle Square today and worked with Melissa. She was polite and was knowledgable about lenses options and healthcare coverage. I am very much looking forward to going back next year when my prescription is updated!
