So its a British chain and I appreciate that the tea is very good quality. For coffee snobs, its good enough if you like the milk based coffee drinks. As far as the customer service goes- good luck as every store is different. Some employees are nice, others are rude. But thats a corporate training problem. Im guessing the employees arent treated well and arent trained for customer service. If you dont mind the occasional rudeness, the atmosphere is simply beautiful. Oh and the food options are good and they now have vegan Beyond Meat breakfast sausage sandwiches!! Lovely..

Oct. 25, 2021I’ve had good luck lately ordering ahead in the app, without the order being canceled as was happening to me earlier this year.I ordered a Cortado and ask them to add a bit of chocolate to it, that was fantastic!Though I was surprised it’s a single shot, meaning half of the standard double basket pour.May 2021The barista‘s at the Central Square location are attentive and will customize your drink as you want. Which means it’s better to walk in and talk to them than to order ahead in the new app. If you order in the app you can’t get the 8 ounce drinks that are shown on the menu. There is a comment box not on the individual item but for the entire basket where you can actually add requests so you can adjust that way.Flat white is 8 oz with standard double shot, rather than what they do with the latte which is discard half a double shot for a so-called single shot and put in a 12 ounce cup of milk.

Great coffee, great service with a chill vibe

I very like this Caffè Nero. Its is very good location, there are a lot of space for work. Plus, there is H-Mart at the next door. But this is not the main advantage.A couple days ago I was little bit disappointed. It was around 8 AM, I went to the work and, as always, I’ve got a cappuccino. Usually, this is it what I take. But in that day I wanted to grab something else - a sandwich. To my surprise there were just 6-8 sandwiches. And it seemed to me that they were from last night.I know that in the end of each day the stuff take all sandwiches off, but in that morning sandwiches laid randomly, it didn’t look like they put it like that.I just decided to get a sandwich in different place.I very like this place and Caffè Nero in general and I will visit this place a lot of times again.

Good coffee the male server was friendly but the female server was unfriendly. Attitude was it was a burden.

Oatmilk latte was thick and viscous and not enough ice so the espresso was really watered down. For this is just feel greatly overcharged.

Rude staff, had an attitude when taking our order. She then bagged our baked goods without heating it up.

The mocha was alright. The service was pretty awful though. The barista walked around telling people to leave if they weren’t going to order anything, which was not welcoming. I understand if people have been there for a while, but my friends and I had just sat down. I prefer Starbucks over caffe Nero any day, but caffe Nero currently has seating.

Rudest staff ever. I work in a restaurant and both of the workers were equally rude. Not people friendly and it was slow so no excuse really.

Coffee here is extremely inconsistent. Today was almost undrinkable, completely burnt. Some days its great. This is like a bad relationship, I keep hoping for good coffee and they let me down.

Chill atmosphere, cozy corners to curl up in with a coffee and pastry. They have a large gas-fired fireplace in back with chairs and sofas that I find particularly inviting for enjoying a mocha latte during work breaks!Looking forward to enjoying a steaming cup at Nero during those cold snowy days in Central square!

This is nice cafe, The only problem is space if you want to have a seat and sip your coffee while working on your laptop, just make sure that their is place to sit. Dont hesitate sharing tables with other people as that is common. Charging points are very accessible for every seat so just look around carefully and you will find one sometimes they are in the bottom of the table so make sure you check everything.

I love cafe nero!!! the vibe is fantastic. they have the best cappuccinos around, especially for a chain. recently the employees haven’t been making the drinks quite right, too much milk, spilling over the sides, putting stuff on top of the drink, but otherwise i love this place. warning though that indoor seating can be very hard to find on the weekend. parking isn’t ever an issue with the big parking lot near pleasant street just north of mass ave.

I had a regular sized strawberry banana smoothie and it was pretty good. The service was nice and quick. It seemed like a cozy place to study by yourself or with a friend.

Pretty cool coffee place. My usual hangout spot. Coffee is good. Old fashioned chocolate cake is great. Can be hard to find a table during weekends, but the crowd usually disband around dinner time.

Excellent and friendly service, tasty pastries and delicious sandwiches all matched with great coffee and ciders in the heart of Cambridge. And if youre staying at Hotel 1868 this is basically in the lobby so you cant go wrong. Definitely recommend this place!

Great cafe!

Really nice and aesthetically pleasing. The food is also quite good with a large variety of options. I also do enjoy the fact that they offer you real ceramic cups and plates if you decide to eat in the cafe. The only gripe is that its ALWAYS packed and its tough to find seats.

A nice coffee shop. Theres an interesting feel created by the use of books in the decor - lots of them, and a really interesting variety. No one else seemed to be browsing them but I did, and it was worthwhile. There must be some kind of supply house that sells eclectic books to places that want to create a certain feel.

They declare themselves Master Roasters, and Im happy with the results. Perfection takes time, so there can be a wait. Prices are very reasonable.The shop is a terrific space with a library feel, comfy chairs, and private spaces. Clearly a meeting spot for the neighborhood.

Coffee should be better. there should be more staff so as not to stand in line forever for an overpriced not so great coffee. food options could be better. good baked goods tho.

Great service, friendly baristas and excellent lemon mascarpone cake.

The product is of course wonderful and love the ambiance and library type feel. Only downside is service is a bit lacking and it didnt have a very good odor in part of the store, smelled like a dirty subway elevator.

Not the best Nero Ive been to. I like the brand but not this location. The place looks a bit unkempt. There are beggars in the area which gets old quickly. The service is mediocre. I am better off walking another block and go to Starbucks

Its a beautiful cafe to have a mid day break between meetings. I personally found this better than the crowded Starbucks and Dunkin. I love the collection of books to skim through while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate.

Great place for a coffee in a relaxed setting. I like Caffè Nero in general and this location is nice. On the other hand, it is very difficult to find a place to seat. Moreover, recently, a homeless person has often parked himself in the seating area near the entrance taking quite some space for his belongings while not consuming any Caffè Nero products. Perhaps I will look for another coffee shop nearby?

Poor coffee for out of world price.. I bought a cup once and then have them another try but their coffee was a fail. So crossed the street to Dunkin and was satisfied.If you are a fan of dull, dead, burnt up flavors you will like it. I like coffee not coal in my cup.

Good drinks, and a nice atmosphere - but the seating could use a little work. It wasnt too crowded when I went there, but it was nearly impossible to find a pair of seats together. Lots of people studying, taking up multiple seats. Not the fault of the students, most of the seating is set up around couches and small tables-for-two and not large tables.

Service is always great, no matter what time of the day I go. They make my soy mocha just the way I like it every time! Its always smooth and rich. Ive never had a bitter coffee here, and I cant say that for most places. Thank you for my daily fuel!

Loved it! Friendly people, free 3 hour wifi, tasty tea and sandwiches. Had a bacon avacado and tomato and a cup of hot peppermint tea.

Ive enjoyed coffee at several cafe Nero outlets around Boston, many times. However, the drinks at this specific outlet have been a disappointment consistently. The employees need training on how to do espressos properly. I discarded our drinks (an Americano and a mango smoothie) after a sip each because they were terrible.

Perhaps their afternoon staff are better but I won’t be returning to find out.Came here after reading wonderful reviews and having had a decent coffee at another Cafe Nero.Perhaps the staff had not yet had their own morning coffees or had other things going on in their lives, but as far as customer service goes this was some of the worst. If looks could kill I’d have been dead after asking for an almond milk latte.What I got was a burnt mess of something that barely resembled a latte let alone an almond one. I can stomach even 7-eleven coffee in a pinch. This just made me gag though.Two stars because the ambience is genuinely lovely and my boyfriends drink was palatable.

Love the coffee here but also great interiors. A lot of options to sit and read books, listen to music or work on your laptops. Not such great food and especially very little vegan options.

Great coffee shop in the heart of central. Awesome atmosphere and one of the best lattes Ive had. They have a lot of seating and wifi, a perfect place to come get some work done with a nice cup of coffee.

Caffè Nero is a great addition to Central Square. My goto test drink is a soy chai, and theirs is delicious. Smooth, not too sweet, and just the right temperature. The vegan muffin I had was tasty. The place was pretty full when my friend and I got there at 3pm, but we were able to grab a table after a few minutes. It was not too noisy, we were able to talk to each other without yelling. Go, meet a friend, sit and read or work on your laptop, have a meeting, or just pick up a drink.

They should seriously work on customer service. I used to like this place A LOT but I am not sure if I will be returning unless I have to. They charged me more than what I got, and I asked for the receipt to double check (because they did not even give it to me) after few minutes. And when it was clearly their mistake, they did not even say sorry. And made me feel as though I inconvenienced them by pointing that out. I even felt they made fun of me by speaking to each other in a different language. I am trying not to let this experience ruin my morning, but this still bothers me.

Good coffee, hot chocolate. Nice ambiance. Fireplace, but not smokey. Foods are alright. Dont get the OJ though, its like they got concentrate from Stop&Shop and repackaged it.

The best espresso around. Their ordering system leaves a bit to be desired, though. It would be better if they just took one order at a time so they dont have to keep asking for reminders over and over again.

But both of them informed me that they don’t have the information.Then I told them that one very junior employee of cafe Nero of Central Squire, Cambridge, MA informed me the calorie amount of the cakes of cafe Nero upon looking at the chart that is available inside their store couple of days before.When I told this to one of the staff (Fan) today, then she handed me the chart, and to take a look of the products’ calories amount.This behavior is totally unacceptable.I would like to draw this matter to attention to the higher authority of Cafe Nero for better service....Thank you.Jabed

I frequent Nero on a daily basis on my way to work. The Cold Brew is far better than Starbucks. Its on tap and has a richer, smoother taste than Starbucks Narino brew. They also have Nitro on tap... but thats just Cold Brew with extra nitrogen. Absolutely no difference in brewing methods and not worth the money.

Place is good. But server is not very hospitable and seems pretty impatient.

It was so good Im tempted to not review it so that people dont go here and crowd it! Great coffee and brilliant ambience :)

Experienced bad attitude from the male employee as mentioned in one of the other reviews. He only took my husbands order and didnt ask if I wanted anything, I had to tell him to add other items to the order. When done, he just handed me the food, no thank you and I never got my receipt either! This attitude left very bad impression, and was the worst service we received during the our whole week in Boston.Also fruit smoothies were not good and tasted like made from canned fruit. I did not try the coffee, it might have been good.

The regular Caffe Nero quality you know with super nice staff. Every time I go there, I always get smiley faces from the staff. It is usually on the busier side though, especially if you are planning to sit in.

Im generally a fan cafe neros (other branches). But this branch has been particularly bad with regulating the temperature inside in the brutally cold Cambridge winter. They intentionally shut down the fire (or the heat) so it gets pretty cold inside. I once asked the manager to turn on the fire and she refused to do it and justified that she cant (but I saw another day that they remotely turned it on!!). Advice to manager: Cafe nero has a good name in Boston, so dont ruin it by being cheap!

Worst customer service and the coffee wasn’t very good either. Both baristas had attitudes. One told us that she wouldn’t give us regular mugs because there weren’t any seats and she wasn’t going to put it in to go cups after we were not able to get a seat. We actually were able to get seats. We had 5 coffees..all different temperatures including 2 cold cappuccinos. One of the lattes was dielivered dripping in the contents of the drink. They forgot whipped cream on one of the lattes. When we went back to get the whipped cream, we were told that we didn’t order whipped cream...which we did. We went to this place to try something different than Starbucks. What a mistake!

The european coffee favorite has opened in Central Square. Tasty coffee drinks, and the decent baked goodies and salads. Nice atmosphere, and decent mix of working and lounging seating

Love the coffee and staff but the WiFi really sucks. No YouTube access and basically their wireless system basically shuts down any sort video file you try to access on your browser. Kind of a lame way to be stingy.
