We went there for Sunday brunch. They were pretty busy and we had to wait for a table. They texted us when the table was ready which I thought was convenient. The place was very lively, and clean. Food was pretty good too. Mocha latte was amazing, super smooth. The grilled honey butter biscuits and blueberry pancakes get an A+.
I loved this place. The owner was helping out and welcoming people. He was delightful and told us all about where they get various elements of the menu. It makes me happy to see a great restaurant so busy. We went for Sunday brunch and it was packed! We had the honey butter biscuits, which are made from scratch and they were incredible! We had the eggs Benedict with smoked duck and fig jam, and the lemon ricotta pancakes. Both were absolutely delicious. They have fresh juice too, which was great! Also their truffle fries were some of the best Ive ever had. We would definitely come back.
Not bad. food was okay. service was not so great. 30 min wait no complaints, when sat an ordered food it was close to 1 hour to get the food. Also charged 2 dollars for syrup maybe I missed it on the menu but I was not told about it being extra. Overall food was not bad . Not worth the wait of almost 1.5 hours
This place is very popular so make sure to make a reservation in advance. This was my second time coming here. The first time I had the lemon ricotta pancakes. Perfectly done, presentation was so pretty and they tasted delicious. This time I had the street from tacos with scrambled eggs wanting to go for something different. It was a great meal yet again. The wait for food was awhile but that does makes sense considering how busy they get especially on weekends. I give 5 stars for great menu options and great execution, as well as a very nice waitstaff! A must try place for anyone in the area.
An amazing brunch in Cambridge! The food was so delicious. Make sure to get a reservation as this place is, rightfully so, very busy now that mitigation orders are lifted. The only issue we had was getting water, but the server was so nice, as was the manager. I enjoyed the Kitchen Sink and my husband absolutely loved his hash. Thank you for a delicious meal!
I’d give it 6 stars if I could. The gentlemen at the front (I wish I got his name!) was so so nice and informative and hospitable. I had a larger party and he did a great job seating us and spent a couple of minutes telling us about the menu, what they’re known for, etc. His wife is the cook and owner - which was super cool to hear. The food was unbelievable- one of those places that you know if you order something (anything!) on the menu it’s going to be good. Would recommend!
My friend visited from U.K. and I wanted to take her to a very nice place that is highly rated for brunch and we wanted to have outdoor seating. I am glad I found out about Cafe Luna. Unfortunately, we made a mistake and didn’t make reservation and had to wait 45 minutes so I highly suggest you initially make a reservation the day before. The staff were very nice and accommodating. I had lemon ricotta pancake which was suggested to us by the staff and latte and both were very delicious. I am not usually a fan of hot latte but this one was weirdly delicious and I couldn’t even wait for my pancake to arrive to accompany it 😅 my friend had roasted veggie dish and she was very happy with it.
Cafe Luna is a great place for brunch! Its close to a lot of the colleges here, and the food is always beautiful. The service is amazing, and everyone I have interacted there is really sweet. While the food is aesthetic, Id say for the most part its just a solid American brunch - nothing mindblowing. But would still recommend you check this place out! (especially the French toast :) )
What a lovely and cozy cafe in the heart of Cambridge! What could have been a disastrous experience ended up in a very pleasant one with I must return to this place feeling ; it did help that the food was really good. Our order got messed up by our server (on her second day of work so very understandable). It got corrected right away. The owner apologized for the mistake too and insisted to offer us another meal or a drink (although not necessary, we were happy with the food once we got it). Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. It is a must stop by restaurant if in Cambridge. The food is just amazing. Must try the toast with strawberries and in-house made whipped cream. I would love to visit it again. It is a busy place, so reservations are probably good to have (we didnt have one and waited only 25 mins at a busy hour on a Sunday). I loved seeing dogs allowed outside and having little water bows provided for them.
We went for brunch Sunday am. We had reservations which was good because many folk who did not had to wait outside for a while on a chilly morning. We had the lobster eggs Benedict and the lemon ricotta pancakes, both of which were excellent. Also sampled the Bloody Mary and Golden peaches cocktail. Took home an order of the biscuits for the next mornings breakfast. Recommend going early to avoid the crowds.
AMAZING PLACE. Loved it! We went there last Sunday and found a place to sit within 5 minutes; maybe because of the weather but the place was still packed. The food here is absolutely delicious. We ordered the Hot Lobster Benedict and the Smoked Duck Benedict - exquisite. Their nitro cold brew coffee on tap is delicious. We also have the Matchalada which was great!Had a quick and delightful chat with the owner(s) and chef and theyre wonderful people.Overall: great place, great food, amazing hospitality. Will definitely go here the next time we visit.
Great place for you Instagram models/influencers/ fitness buffs. I’m talkin about the people that count their macros and micros, you know who you are. This place is healthy. So healthy in fact, I think the watermelon sangria gave me abs. I recommend it. Apparently weekend brunch is better but today I just came for a weekday breakfast. It was ok. I left wanting more. The cornbeef hash was stringy. Not like the store bought mashed up goodness I’m used to. They have an omelet menu though which is a good touch. But I’m not an omelette guy. Maybe this is a good place for you. For me, not so much. Staff was beautiful though. Excellent service.
My friend came down to Boston to visit me and our experience here couldn’t have been better. The entire staff was so sweet - we genuinely wanted to be friends with them all. My friend took her puppy Blue, and they gave him treats, water, and were so friendly to him!Matt and Jecika were an absolute delight. To the both of you: thank you for truly making our day, for sending over that incredible corn dish, and for being all around lovely humans. Now let me tell you about the FOOD - Oh. My. God. The BEST French toast you will EVER have in your life is the Mexican churro dulce de leche French toast. They make the caramel from scratch and it was life-changing.The eggs Benedict with black ham and avocado was delicious. My chai tea martini was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had - wish I could have one every day! 🤣This is definitely my new favorite spot in Boston, and anyone in MA of visiting MUST come here. Thank you again to this lovely staff for making our experience so memorable. 😊
We got there just at the right time. Soon after we got seated the crowd showed up. The Lobster Benedict was good and uniform looking there was a great amount of lobster! The Lobster Omelette was ok. The lobster seemed slightly over cooked and it was lacking sauce (it was dry-ish). Very plain if you ask me. The duck tacos were my favorite! It is a lot of food. The tortillas were thick and held everything perfectly without breaking. The duck was crispy and moist. Would recommend some hot sauce on the side to give it that extra touch. And then their version of creamed corn was really good. I would definitely come again would just customize a little better next time.
Amazing breakfast food... try the omlettes and boozy coffee for sure! Went for breakfast 2 days in a row here when visiting Cambridge. If we didnt have to leave so early, wed go for a 3rd!
Came here on a Sunday for Brunch. We had a reservation with indoor seating since it was a hot day but it was so humid and packed inside that it felt hotter than outside (no air conditioning). The service was friendly but very slow, we waited at least 20 minutes just for our server to come over, granted it was busy. The first drink I got was okay but the second one tasted watered down. For food I got a steak taco and duck taco. They were just okay as the meat in both was overcooked. My friend got the dulce de leche french toast which was okay but overly sweet. We also got the jalapeno home fries which were again just okay. Overall I wouldnt come back as the food was nothing special.
Highly, HIGHLY recommend making a reservation here especially for weekend brunch. You can technically walk in but the wait may be very long. Time slots between 10am and 2pm fill up quick, especially as party sizes get larger. Our server was super kind and friendly, but as other reviews have mentioned, the food takes some time to cook. The brunch menu had all sorts of items to choose from, including benedicts, egg scrambles, pancakes, and Belgian waffles. Most items are in the $15-25 range. The portion sizes are pretty big but I was still able to finish everything I got in one sitting.I tried the smoked salmon with spinach, avocado, and tomato eggs benedict ($20). It comes with either salad, home fries, or fruit as a side. I decided to get the home fries, which were nicely brown on the outside. The home fries were fluffy on the inside and just slightly underseasoned so they went perfectly with hot sauce and ketchup. The eggs benedict was stacked high and super tasty. All the flavors balanced together well. I didnt expect the smoked salmon to be cooked but it was still delicious. The interior of the restaurant is a bit cramped-- I constantly felt that I was in somebodys way. I would recommend dining outdoors if the weather is good, since the outdoor seating is more spacious. The quality and taste of the food deserves five stars! I normally would hesitate to wait 1 hour for a $20 eggs benedict but this place truly deserves the hype.
Absolutely love it. The food was amazing I want to try literally everything on the menu. Cocktails were great. Coffee was sooo good. Super dog friendly was happy I could take my pup along & eat outside while the weather is nice. All of the staff are absolutely amazing. The nicest people ever. Our servers Jecika & Mandy were so sweet & recommended the best food (you must try the Mexican Churro dulce de leche. The host/manager Matt is awesome so very passionate about the restaurant and the food there. Service was quick. They were super transparent about the wait time. We were checked on multiple times & didn’t have to wait long at all for anything despite them being quite busy.
Made reservations and it was the best thing we did since the wait was long. Service and food was phenomenal. Pricing for certain items are questionable such as $2.00 more for vanilla flavored latte and $1.00 more for oat milk. One latte can be $5-$8 bucks..We were a party of (4) with one toddler and we were automatically charged a 20% (Large Party Gratuity), which I’ve only seen for a party of (6) or more.... even though a minimum of 20% tip should be given despite if it’s only (2) people.I love that you can scan a QR code and grab the menu from your phone and pay via your phone as well. The food was amazing and so were the lattes. The Waiter was very attentive and service was great.Bathrooms was a little disgusting but I’m sure the staff members were busy. Other than that, I highly recommend this place & will definitely be back.
Got the steak and lobster Benedict and prosciutto and fig Benny with mimosas. Definitely very savory and filling. Not pictured are their honey butter biscuits. Definitely a place to return to!Tables were spaced out well and bottled water is given instead of tap water. Reservations are suggested as we saw a number of parties waiting outside in the rain for a table.
I ate here for the first time last week, right at its opening time of 9:00 am. I was amazed by how crowded it got on a weekday morning by about 10:00 am. I was also pleasantly surprised to find metered parking right on the street out front (I was worried about this). It was a nice atmosphere, with comfortable seating that is nicely spaced. Be aware that the menu is a QR code that you use to access the online menu. I am right on the cusp of an age where this might not be easy for some of my friends. I am not sure if this is a pandemic practice, or if it is a sign of a younger target audience (given its proximity to MIT). (EDIT: the owners confirmed that guests may ask for a paper menu).I ordered the Kitchen Sink breakfast that offered choices for a little of everything. It was a nice variety in smaller portions of everything, but didnt feel like a larger quantity of food (as Id hoped b/c I was starving). However, everything was quite tasty and my dining companions all seemed to enjoy their food too. Our server seemed very willing to customize orders for them The staff was very friendly, though I think understaffed (as is true at so many places right now), as I had to ask multiple times for sweetener, and never got the chance to ask for a refill of my iced tea or water.
An amazing Saturday morning brunch! I had the roasted duck eggs Benedict with a cup of fruit and my friend had eggs, corn beef hash, and a side salad. Everything was swiftly and expertly prepared. The staff were courteous, attentive, and practiced excellent social distancing and mask use. It felt very safe, clean, and accommodating. I need get back here for more!
Good for brunch. Avocado smoked salmon Benedict eggs can never go wrong here
Worth the wait! There is consistently a long line here so I would highly recommend getting a reservation ahead of time (Matt has been super helpful reserving with a larger party). I’ve had the pancakes that are to die for and the teas are so exotic and the breakfast potatoes are dreamy! They have a much larger weekend menu than weekday menu so definitely try again on a weekend
Stellar brunch food, had the poached egg with lobster, and really awesome staff, was served by a kind and hilarious Marylander. Also, an amazing/unforgettable lavender latte.Warning to all, there’s a bit of a wait since it’s so popular, but it’s worth it.Coming back for sure the next time I’m in the neighborhood.
I really enjoyed the ambiance of this place. All the food I tasted here was amazing and nicely presented, this a perfect place to go for a brunch. The service was great and fast. I recommend this place 100%.
An awesome place for brunches. The table was ready on time. The paper menu has been replaced by an digital one that you can scan and open on your phone which is great and you can also make the payments via your phone.Plus the place has an outdoor seating area which great for current times.Loved the food.
I recently had brunch here. Great experience. I had the Mexican Churro French Toast. It was amazing! I highly recommend going here. I will surely be back!
I was looking forward to trying Cafe Luna but was quite disappointed for this first try. I got the vegetable hash with eggs and my Dad had the “kitchen sink” breakfast. The veggie hash was very good. Now the issues: the regular coffee was cold, decaf americano was so acidic that the cream curdled in it, the French toast was rock hard and burnt, the bacon was tough/thick greasy and over cooked. They put the greasy bacon on top of the scrambled eggs which made them oily and hard to eat.
Cafe Luna is a solid brunch spot in the Kendall area! They have a perfect vibe for a fun social sunday morning brunch. The menu has a plethora of options that all look delicious. I recommend the Country Biscuit Sliders as I really enjoyed the sweet jam - savoury buttery biscuit combination. The homefries were alright and couldve had a bit more taste.
Came here for lunch/brunch and be forewarned the waits can be very long! Got a breakfast omelet and a sandwich and both were pretty decent but not anything especially standout I felt. I think I had higher expectations due to the popularity and the wait to be seated which tinged my experience. They also missed part of my order on my omelet. Overall good food but I would recommend finding somewhere else to eat if you have to wait 45 minutes to get a table.
Cafe Luna was fantastic the first time I went for brunch with girlfriends some years ago. Since revisiting their new location a few months ago, it has become our favorite spot! Not only is the food consistently fantastic, but the service is incomparable. We feel positively doted on every time we visit, and we keep coming back for that—and because we need to try everything on the menu! I can’t recommend Cafe Luna enough. I just wish I lived closer to Cambridge to try their weekday menus!
The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were great, and the staff super friendly. Apparently if you arrive at 9 am there isnt much of a wait for a table, but at around 9:30 am youll start having the 30 min wait. If you arrive around 11 to 12, you would have a wait of around 1 hour. Definitely will come back here again
Love love loved this places, we have orders different dishes and people have already shared a a lot so don’t think we need to post any more on it. Might wait a little bit longer for the meals but it’s really popular, so totally understandable. Staff are friendly and attentive!
The delicious food is worth the 45 minute wait on weekends.
The Carmelized Pear and Pecan French Toast!!!Its amazing in every way! Its sweet and perfectly crisp. Its amazing how they maintain some crispness even though they are drizzled in syrup. The pears provide a delicious balance and the flavor all together was one I did not expect.Im so so glad we found this place!
The food was delicious. I had the Nutella french toast with strawberries along with two eggs, bacon, and toast. Our server, Gustavo, was so patient and very helpful at helping us make up our minds dice there is SO much to choose from on the menu. Its a little pricy but well worth it.
Came in for brunch on MLK day. Reservations are very high recommended. its a popular spot with all the tables filled and people waiting. Looking around at the decor and the client demographic, its appropriate to say its a hip or trendy location. And the vibe is matched by the quality of service and the food. A very selection on the menu that makes it hard to choose. I was hungover but I was definitely tempted to pick a drink from their sumptuous options. This is a silly comment but I thought it was odd that I was served my orange juice in a plastic disposable cup. The food was flavored very well and you can definitely see why despite covid, this is an-indemand location.
I love eating breakfast here. I’ve been here 3 times and only took videos🥲. I paired my breakfast with an orange mimosa at 11am, can’t complain. The lavender latte was pretty good as well!
The lemon ricotta pancakes were light and fluffy, but also hearty and satisfying. The acidity of the lemon paired with the fruit worked to brighten and balance the dish as a whole. Also tried the Kitchen Sink, which offered savory and sweet all in one.Of course, the most memorable part of the meal was the exceptional service provided by Matt. On our visit, we were told there was an hour wait outside in the pouring rain. Matt came out, greeted us warmly, and offered us complimentary coffee. This completely shifted our decision, as we were just about to go elsewhere.Matt worked to keep us updated every 5 minutes, and eventually cut our wait time in half. He made great food recs, and before even realizing that it was our anniversary, brought out a delicious complimentary dish to try! Its safe to say that for both my wife and I, this was hands down the best service we have ever received, and we cant wait to come back. Thanks Cafe Luna, and thanks Matt :)
Looking for amazing brunch or lunch? This is the place! Every meal I have ever had at Cafe Luna has been fresh and delicious. They use real ingredients and it shows in their delicious food. When you leave, you feel good after you eat-- I attribute this to the high quality of the food. Owners Matt & Teri are so nice and operate their business in a great manner. This is a great place to take friends and family. Cafe Luna is fitting for all ages. I love their seasonal drinks like the amazing watermelon juice I had over the summer. Hands down Cafe Luna is awesome. Also, I have had their catering many times which has been well received by me and my co-workers (they even have great vegetarian options).
Ultimately! The best breakfast that Ive eaten in a long long time in Massachusetts. My waiter Chris provided me with ultimate service. I always over order, there are entrees on the menu that I want to indulge in. Very generous quantity of food and the quality of the food was over the top. We had breakfast for two.T. M. Little
This is one of the best outdoor places for your breakfast, lunch or brunch. The food he is very delicious and seems very fresh. They have outdoor seating area. Make sure you have a reservation in advance as this place is usually packed on a good summer day. The prices are very reasonable and the service too is quick and good. Overall a good place to hangout for brunch with great quality food
One of the best brunch places in the Boston area. Their food is amazing, the location is trendy, and the drinks are great. In the photo:1. Caramelized Spiced Pears or Bananas with Pecans French Toast,2. Jalapeño Cheddar Mac & Cheese with Pulled Chipotle Chicken,3. Wings & Waffles with Truffle Fries (not pictured), 4. Side of Bacon
The food quality doesn’t matter much at this point, I have never experienced worse customer service at a restaurant before. You are busy, you don’t take online or phone orders, fine. But hang up on me when I ask for a bit more information (the entire conversation was less than 30s)? I guess being popular means you can get away with any service.
I had a fantastic brunch here! They are known for their eggs benedicts and for GOOD reason. I enjoyed the corned beef hash eggs benny and also tasted the steak and lobster benny (it was fantastic). Definitely worth going for breakfast!
The brunch is delicious, with good portions and high quality. Their corn hash is so yummy. The fig jam and fig/goat cheese combinations are surprisingly awesome. The staff are nice. Although the place is quite busy, but you can easily reserve by phone and their estimate is pretty accurate when youd be seated.I definitely recommend it if you want to have a fresh brunch experience. The neighborhood is pretty and parking spots would be easily found during the weekend. Business days the parking would be an issue though. Also their butter honey biscuits is sooooooooo good!!! It is for sure a 5-star in my view.
Went during the week for lunch and was seated immediately. The menu is extensive and did not dissapoint. We ordered the Southern BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad and the Southwest Pulled Chicken Sandwich which were both delicious and big enough to share!
We planned to go on a hot and humid day so made reservations to eat inside. The place was packed and we were all crammed in there like sardines. They had the doors wide open so it was hot and humid inside and the air was completely stagnant. We were all very hot and sweaty. We asked for them to cool it down and the request was denied. In addition, the food took over an hour to arrive. By then we decided to take it to go because it was significantly cooler outside than it was inside. The food was fine. The experience was terrible.Edit after Teris reply: The point is that if it is a hot day and you cant maintain a comfortable temperature inside, then close the doors and turn on the AC. If theres a heat wave, its probably time to close those doors. If thats not possible, let people know ahead of time that its hotter inside than it is outside.
Totally amazing meals...will have to come back for lunch. Bunch was so filling and so yummy 😋
It took a while to get the food, but it was well worth the wait! The steak eggs benedict was the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had and the lemon blueberry french toast was probably the best french toast I’ve ever had as well!
Best run restaurant around! Huge menu. If youre planning ahead, definitely make reservations.
Very nice bright place with good food in generous portions. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Filled with young collage age patrons. A colorful, fun experience.
My wife and I enjoy coming here sometimes for decadent celebratory brunches. I love the migas with bacon, she adores the waffles. It is a little tight and loud, but the servers are always friendly, knowledgeable and fast.
Best place for brunch/ lunch or dinner!! So much to chose from and everything is worth trying.
The wait is kind of a hot mess. 30 min wait before noon on a Sunday. High ceilings make the space feel airy and pleasant with bar and table seating. Coffee is great! Highly recommend. Bacon is delicious...Roasted vegetable has tasted good but the veggie/ potato ratio was terrible. Fruit salad was great. My sisters lobster omelet was perfect with great lobster ratio. My over easy eggs were overcooked (as in the yolk was already cooked through) and slightly burnt at the bottom.
My sister in law had her baby shower here. I guess there kitchen closes at 4pm. But they schedule her for 3:30 for her event. So when everyone got there. They said they will try there best to get the food we orders but it was no guaranteed. Everyone was very confused. They were not taking orders. They were very rude
The other reviews were right - the lemon ricotta pancakes were incredible! We also ordered the roasted vegetables hash which was also excellent. The host was really friendly and nice, as was the bartender who took our order (since we sat at the bar). I cant wait to come back here to try all the things. The only downside was a wait, but thats to be expected at brunch time on the weekend.
Matt, what an amazing brunch experience. Thank you for your hospitality. Tanner our waiter and all who were responsible for our special visit to Cambridge made this a wonderful event. Cafe Luna will be our preferred spot to have brunch on every east coast visit.
Mind blowing food and beverage. Top of list for must go to places in the area. Ordered Brussels and Fig tacos, lavender iced coffee and Bellini. Should have taken photos of the food but was too distracted by how amazing it all was.
The food was delicious! And the prices arent crazy. The one draw back is how long the wait is, but thay cant be helped. Would recommend calling ahead.
Great brunch experience, that too in the covid 19 situation. It was not too cold and we chose to eat outdoors. I ordered the Eggs benedict with the pulled chicken which was scrumptious. I also tasted the crab cakes eggs benedict and it was equally delicious but I will be a bit biased towards the chicken I had. The house fries were great too. Usually dont eat fries but this was truly good that I ate it all. Mimosa was okay but the hot toddy was great. Reasonable prices and service was efficient and polite. Highly recommend this place!
Got there at 9am and ordered takeout. Brought drinks out immediately, then took 40 minutes to bring out food. Then gave no utensils with meal, which I didnt realize until I got to hotel.Update: the food was great, and Cafe luna reached out to me and offered sincere apologies. From their response I dont believe my experience was the norm, and I would be willing to give them a chance the next time we are in boston.
If it’s a holiday, there are a lot of people here.Steak and lobster Benedict and pancake was amazing 👍
Overpriced, overhyped, subpar food. Waited for an hour and a half to eat (with a reservation). We ordered two stake and lobster eggs Benedicts and two kitchen sinks. The food was so bad no one finished their plate. We even had to order table salt because the food had no flavor. $240 dollar meal with a 6 drinks and a coke.
