Decent pizza spot in Kendall square with lively vibes. The place seemed great for casual outings with pizza and beer, but pizza here was just average. I got the bacon and clam pizza which I ended up eating just a slice. The side of chili honey and chili flakes did add some flares to it, but overall it was not worth the price. On the other hand, the butter curry chicken wings and supreme garlic knots were good and I would definitely recommend getting more chicken and other sides than pizza.

Very tasty, but lack of attention to details. The plates are too small for the slices of pizza (I burnt my wifes leg with the splatter through table). The thin crust was soggy. The red-flake on the side (that we paid extra for) was forgotten.

The pizza was good, but nothing exception. The bread bites were also just good. The ingredients used are good though, so you know that its good. The pizza wasnt too greasy or cheesy, so that was a plus. I got delivery, so I cant speak on the ambience, but the food was definitely fresh and hot when I ate it.

In the rest of the world, A4 is not Area 4, but a paper size. Something that you would know if you used a copy machine, or a printer. So when I walked into A4 Pizza, that was exactly what I had thought... That they should have a flagship pizza which is in the shape of an A4 sheet of paper. I mentioned this to the management as a missed marketing opportunity. They looked at me weird. But that aside, the pizza was great and the soup was delicious... Just what we needed in a cold winter day. Prices are a bit on the high side. But they do make a mean anchovy pizza. I liked this joint.

One of the best pizza in Boston. They started in Cambridge then opened another branch in South End. The dough is many years old and tens of hours is spent for fermentation. You feel the unique taste of dough when you get a bite from the corner of your pizza. They use a sophiaticated oven that combines advantages of wood and gas fire. They serve many good beers. I also recommend the salads.

I was excited to come here after reading some reviews. The goal was to find the best pizza in Cambridge and I must say that this falls short. The restaurant appearance is inviting and location is great. The prices are a bit higher than most pizza places around here. The pizzas themselves were not that great. The sour dough crust is interesting. It tastes like thin sourdough bread. I cant say it is great but it is interesting and would require a taste for it to truly appreciate it. The pizza does not taste too great. I would say it is a middle of the road gourmet pizza establishment. I cant recommend it.

Was taken here because Im a huge pizza fan, but was pretty disappointed. We waited there for about twenty minutes, so we stared at the line at the food truck outside now and then and questioned if we waited at the wrong place. We got the cheese covered knots and Not Pepperoni Pizza. The knots were good, maybe was a bit too filling to be eaten with the pizza. The pizza was way too salty, the crust was too burned for my taste, the sauce was bland and the cheese was mediocre. At least the atmosphere is nice and the service is good.

Area 4 has one of the most novel pizzas you will find in Boston. The sourdough really comes through in the dough which I think is fantastic, but I guess if you are one of those people who doesn’t east the crust you probably won’t like it as the flavor is strong (and you shouldn’t be bothering to eat pizzas anyway). However for those who are turned off by flavorless crust this will not disappoint.A4 also has some good flavor combinations but the staples are also very good. Highly worth going. The mushroom and Hawaiian take are both excellent.

We picked up and my order was right on time and correct. I didn’t give 5 stars because I found the al Pastor wings to be on the pale side. Considering Area 4’s mighty pizza oven, I had expected and was looking forward to nice caramelized wings. The taste and the quality of the wings were good but the texture was somewhat ‘unwinglike’ if there is such a word. They look anemic and lost; there were some brown spots on some pieces but the other sides were completely pale 😞The lemon cake with raspberry filling was ok. The pizza was 👍👍 and so were the salads! Perhaps a tad more acid zing in the dressing?

Review №76

It’s a bar atmosphere the music they play is pretty random. The pizza itself is a combination of toppings that sound fancy “soppressata” but really are no better then regular salami. The pizzas are wood fired and the toppings will fall right off the pizza if you hold the slice vertically. Greasy pizza with sour tones, is not worth the price in my opinion. Even the lemonade is sour as they put in lemon rinds with the drink to give it a brighter hue.

I have 3 words for you: supreme garlic knots... Ive eaten their pizza before and while I recognize that its really good quality and has many great attributes, I wasnt that impressed with the pizza and never really cared to have it again. (There are so many great pizza spots in Boston that theres no reason to eat pizza that doesnt make ya go Hmm) I did however fall in love with their garlic knots. The texture of the knots was chewy, crusty, and somewhat soaked. Some of these textures are missing in the pizza and really showcase how good their dough is. The addition of mozzarella and marinara sauce basically turns these garlicky dough angels into mini pan pizzas. I had them this evening and they were just as heavenly as the last time I was there. The friendly staff is always great and managed to be accommodating even during this difficult time experiencing pandemic. Thank you and please keep this knot thing a secret...

Area Four is number 1 in the illustrious Technology hub found in quaint Cambridge, MA.Great little eatery that has a fairly trim menu, which allows them to focus on quality & flavor. Some attractive small plates, wood fired pizza, & assorted entrees adorn the list of offerings.Of course, they have a small, but nice selection of craft beer that pair nicely with your favorite plate.I was fortunate to be in town for business for a few days, down by Kendal Square recently & decided I need a pizza fix. When I Googled the local area a few places made my short list, but after further discussion with a colleague, my attention was drawn to Area Four.During me initial visit I found the atmosphere to be bustling, but comfortable during the mid week dinner rush. Flying solo, I opted to sit at the bar & get acquainted with the tap offerings. My first selection was Rhode Island’s Proclamation IPA. Very familiar with the West Kingstown microbrewery start up, I was immediately pleased to find some local flavor. For dinner, the wood fired pizza was an obvious choice. Being a fan of anchovies, I set my sights on the small White Anchovy pizza for $16.00. Aside from the San Marzano tomato based sauce & Mozzarella cheese, the pizza was adorned with the requisite anchovies, green olives, capers, pecorino, & parsley.A lover of anchovies would appreciate this pizza, but folks who only mildly appreciate anchovies, would probably find this selection a bit offensive. I myself love anchovies, & appreciated the salty pungent attitude that this pizza delivers. The crust was just as expected of a wood fired pizza. Chewy with a nice char & very complimentary to the fresh house made sauce. A wonderful delivery receptacle for a great selection of toppings. The small pizza at $16.00, was an average sized pizza & perfect for one hungry fella or two picky folks who wish to supplement their drinking endeavors with a tasty bite.Overall, I was very pleased with Area Four & have gone on to recommend. I know I’ll back when opportunity presents itself.
