If I could give this group zero stars I would. I had my car assessed there and following that all communication stopped. I have reached out multiple times with no response. Terrible customer service, would not recommend.

I had an excellent experience with Boston car buyers. I needed to sell my car quickly and they handled everything. I found them through Kelley blue book. They didn’t offer as much as I would’ve liked but the reasons they were not able to do so were solid. I made the appointment one day in advance, a very friendly rep met me at my home and thoroughly assessed my car, made an offer and then agreed to raise it a bit, wrote me a check on the spot, and had someone come over to take the car whenever I was ready, which was the following morning. Such an easy process, and frankly the time saved on the hassle of looking for and haggling with potential buyers was worth the slightly higher higher price I may have been able to negotiate. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Absolutely believe the reviews! With my lease ending soon, I started to look into buying my vehicle outright. I checked what the local market (car dealers, mainly) were selling Highlanders that were similarly equipped and good condition. Using very conservative estimates I determined that I had some equity in this vehicle. Not a huge amount, but around $1500, definitely worth my time! After my wife indicated her preference for a new vehicle, I decided to see what local dealers would offer to purchase the vehicle from me. I wont waste a lot of time describing my experience, suffice to say that I did not get satisfaction from the dealers, and in fact was pretty much lied to, right to my face, by two different dealers.After entering my vehicle info on KBB, Paul from City Motor Group contacted me, expressing an interest in buying the vehicle. I made an appointment for the next day, and Charlie met me in the lot at the appointed time. He quickly appraised my car, offered me a very fair price, and I was on my way after 30 minutes or so with a check in my pocket. I had my 34k mile high trim Prius for sale online for almost 2 weeks. Patrick made me an offer on the first day. I wanted to wait since I got an offer so fast and it was only $1,500 below KBB. I figured I can wait a little for private sale and get more.A week and a half went by with a bunch of inquiries and people failing to show up for their appointment to see the vehicle. Meanwhile, Patrick had been in touch on my progress. I asked him what his process is with getting this done and it sounded way easier. Long story short, Patrick stuck to his offer and I was in and out of Boston car buyers with a check in 10 minutes like he said.

I showed up without an appointment, I showed them the printed out appraisal I had just received from carmax up in Danvers that morning and how I was unhappy with it. Carmax swore they had the best price and no one could top their appraisal. Charlie spent 5 minutes looking at my car while it was raining and after plugging in a view items into his computer he eventually offered me 1,000 more than carmax offered. They were honest and answered all my questions, I never felt pressured. I almost didnt even go, glad I did, saved myself an extra thousand.

Just yesterday 6/7/2019 I went to take a look at a Toyota Corolla 2015 that I saw advertised on their website. When I arrived I met Spencer one of the Salesmen on site. Spencer is wonderful and went over all my options, answered any questions I had concerning the vehicle and even had the courtesy to bring my family some water for our visit. For the finalized of the car, we spoke to Alexandra and she is incredibly nice and efficient. The process was very fast compared to other experiences Ive had before. I would recommend City Motor Group to any of my family and friends as the prices are affordable with reasonable dealership fees.

I was looking to sell my 17-year-old car, so I filled out the appraisal form on the Kelly Blue Book website. KBB must have shared my info, because Boston Car Buyers then sent me an unsolicited email promising to beat KBBs offer. But when I went there, Boston Car Buyers used the KBB offer as a starting price and then deducted scratches, dings, age, etc. (all of which Id provided during the KBB appraisal) until they offered me almost zero. I walked away and sold the car somewhere else for much more than the KBB offer.Nobodys obligated to buy a car for the Kelly Blue Book price, but Boston Car Buyers really wasted my time by cold emailing me with an empty promise.

Really good experience we sent a customer there and the customer let really happy. Their process is fast and fair.

I was hesitant that BostonCarBuyers would deliver as a number of their reviews seemed generic and from reviewers with only 1 or 2 reviews, but they were close and promised a quick turnaround: 30 minutes! Ha!Well it turns out they were ready to look at my car and were very quick to make an offer. The initial offer was definitely ready in under 30 minutes and all the paperwork could have been completed within the 30, but I had other offers and interest on the car so negotiated a bit. The convenience here is definitely in time it takes and the offer they made was reasonably fair (not enough to get me to move without some negotiation) and certainly not the low-ball I expected and was afraid of. They did not waste my time. I was willing to take a lower offer (compared to a private sale) in interest of the value of my time and I think we both left happy. Todd was friendly and reasonable the whole way through.I will remember this location and wouldnt hesitate to consider again if I find myself looking to sell a car without putting up with the hassle of a private sale!

The worst experience Ive ever had with a business before. These guys were super sketchy and totally unprofessional. I took my car over to be appraised and got an offer of $1,000. I told them I wanted a few days to think about it. When I called back a few days later to say Id like to sell my car for the amount offered the sales person (Todd) told me that the offer had been changed and they could now pay me $500 for the car. When I pressed him on why the sudden offer change he said he needed to check something and he would call me back. When he called me back he told me that actually they couldnt purchase the car at all and he had gotten mixed up with my car and another one. (Which seems unlikely because he knew the make and model of my car and remembered me from when I came in.) I kept pressing him, asking him why all of a sudden there were these changes in the offer and he ended by saying I should have taken his first offer and given the car up the first day I came in. Completely unprofessional and incredibly sketchy. Dont trust these guys. I plan on sharing this experiences with as many people as possible to stop these guys from swindling someone else over. Take your car somewhere else!

They did not try to press or push me to buy a vehicle from them and felt they gave me top value for my car even though I was not buying a vehicle from them. Do your research, know what your vehicle is worth, having a written offer from another service (like Carmax or other dealer) will help. They are serious about buying vehicles and you can can get top dollar if you make the effort and do the research and have a valid offer to negotiate with. After the way I was treated selling a car to them I will be checking with them the next time I purchase vehicle. We agreed on a price and they gave me a sales agreement and worked with me as I needed my vehicle until my other vehicle was available. Turned in my vehicle about a week later and no hassles or renegotiation. Very professional and accommodating, which is why I am giving them such a glowing recommendation.

I dont know about you, but I cannot afford to buy multiple cars each month.They employ the usual dealer tactics, which was kind of annoying, but not unexpected. I didnt end up selling my car to them because they didnt give me a good price. The whole process took less than half an hour. They were fast and upfront about the fact they they are businessmen and are looking to make a profit.

This place advertises as a car dealership, pulled up to them asked for the price on a few different vehicles. Owner was extremely rude, kept saying “we don’t finance or do oil changes” wasn’t looking to finance anything also not looking for an oil change pal. Not sure who they think they are, but if you only sell to dealers there should be a sign that states that before you have the pleasure of talking to them.
