Hands down, best boat mechanic in the area. Steve is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and capable of performing a slew of maintenance, repairs and upgrades at a more than reasonable price. He recently replaced a bad water pump and tuned up an older model game fisher 15hp for me. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants peace of mind while out on the water. Try to plan ahead as he can get very busy during the summer months.
I highly recommend Baycraft Marine and Steve Webster. When it comes to fiberglass repair, Steve is an artist. He does beautiful work for a reasonable price. He replaced the gas tank and transom on my 1988 aquasport and he totally refurbished my mid-80s laser. Steve also did some mechanical work on my outboard that I could not do my self. He did a fantastic job on all of these repairs. The only way you can tell he worked on my transom is that it looks better (shinier) than the rest of the boat. The laser looks like its brand new. Steve has been working on my boats for more than 20 years. I would not consider going to anyone else. I feel fortunate that Baycraft is located just down the road from me. And Steve runs a very professional business. Just be mindful that he is a one man operation and he has a lot of work, especially in the spring. The wait line can get long.
Baycraft Marine has been my go to boat mechanic for the last 11 years. He has serviced my 3 boats and in every instance has done first rate work and for a very fair price. He has gone the extra mile for me, done extra work for no charge, is a first rate boat mechanic, and so much more. I have found Steve to be very knowledgeable about all boats and eager to help with whatever necessary. I live in the area and Steve has an excellent reputation with the watermen and runs a first class business. 5 Stars!!!
A founder of a wounded veterans group in the area brought his boat in for an engine swap in January. Thisboat is used to take well deserved hero’s of war fishing and take their minds off of the day to day. The owner of this, so call business after months of having the boat told the founder that he would have to pay $1000 for him to start work. Mind you, the motors were purchased by the founder and the boat is his also. They were not going to be held hostage anymore. Refused to pay anything until the job was completed. The founder, his wife and two board members received council from the Sheriff and local police that they were in their rights to pick the boat up. The wife told the owner of the company that the boat was going to be used for wounded veterans. He basically told her he didn’t care. When they tried to remove the boat, they were told he was calling the Sheriff. They replied, we already spoke to him and we are able to take the boat away. This is outrageous that a boat brought in, in January, after repeated calls to the owner, was not complete and on the water in August. He made excuses for the work not being done. The founder was extremely patient with this guy...patience grew thin. Please take your boat to a reputable dealer, this one is not. BTW this whole incident was caught on camera. P.S I had to leave a star to rate. This establishment deserves no stars!
