Popular place so it’s pretty busy, especially on a Saturday morning. But the employees are courteous and the food/beverages are tasty. Had a great lox and cream cheese. Also, I got a little sugarcane stick with my latte - cute!

Having just moved from NY/NJ, I may be biased, but for $15 I had high expectations, and this just didn’t quite seem worth the price. I got the avocado toast sandwich on a za’atar bagel, and the bagel itself was amazing, but they kind of skimped on the toppings (I added turkey and received just a single deli slice, which seemed a bit meager to me). I really enjoyed the bagel part of my order- pretty darn good for Boston- but I think next time I’d just get a classic sandwich over the fancy avocado tartine situation.

Bagels are good (not the best, but certainly not bad and they have great flavors). The cream cheese was very good. Nonetheless, the bagels are not good enough to make up for the watered down gross cold brew we received. I’ve worked as a barista, and this tastes like warm coffee poured over ice. It was undrinkable. I know they can’t help the long wait, but if I have to wait twenty minutes for a bagel I don’t have time to stop somewhere else for coffee. If you want to save yourself the same experience, then Darwin’s has not as interesting flavored bagels but their good and the coffee is always great.

3rd time wasn’t a charm. I’m more of a Bagelsaurus/Goldilox girl but now that I’m back in the office I was looking for something in the square. I went for the first time about a week ago and loved it so much I went back the next day! Decided to stop in over the weekend and get my partner a bagel since I had been talking it up and honestly didn’t even look at the time. I’m an early riser and was running errands so just decided to stop on the way home. I walked in(the door was open) at 7:57a-I think they open at 8a and it was clear they were not happy about it. I felt bad and asked “are you guys open “ 3 times before someone answered saying we can be in a minute. I honestly felt bad so I said oh sorry I’ll wait outside. I had my podcast going so no biggie. Let’s just say I got home-I live very close- and it seemed like I got yesterday’s bagels or something-it was pretty bad. Not sure if they were upset with me cause I walked in the open door too early or what. The other 2 visits get five stars hence the still positive rating but for me customer service is my number 1 with any business. There are so many options to spend the money you earn-no need to give away at a place you don’t feel welcome. Obviously this is my own very personal opinion and I think the place is obviously still worth a try.

This By far the best café in town- let me explain why; they make the bagel fresh and coffee ☕️ The bagel is so fresh it’s just melts on your mouth-someone help it’s full experience is amazing and then, it is in the neighborhood, filling the street with the automatic fresh baking smells so good so good it’s very hard to resist in the morning without those yummy fresh 🥯. Never mind breakfast time 🙌

We visited Cambridge while on vacation in Boston and were looking for food to pick up and eat in the park. Im so glad that we stumbled on Black Sheep. The bagels that we got we legitimately the best bagels that Ive ever had. They were so good that we even considered taking the train back to Cambridge before the end of our vacation to get another one!I had tuna salad with lettuce and tomato on an everything bagel and my friend had the breakfast BLT with turkey on a rosemary bagel. I cant have dairy so I really appreciated them helping me to find something that I could have and even asking the kitchen about the ingredients of what I ordered to be sure I could have it.This is a must-visit in Cambridge and we will definitely be back next time we visit the area.

Cute bagel shop. It’s small cafe and can get a little crowded during peak hours when waiting outside but that just shows how popular this place is. Bagel was really good and the wait time wasn’t too bad. Definitely a nice place to stop by if you’re near Harvard and craving a nice bagel

Best bagels in Cambridge!-The bagels are the perfect chewy+soft+crunchy texture, which I havent found anywhere else in the area.-Flavors: the black/white sesame flavor is fabulous, and their everything bagels have an appropriate amount of salt (in big chunks which you can pick off if you prefer unsalted)-The decor is beautiful. Its small and no longer allows indoor seating, but Im looking forward to the day the space opens up again.-The staff are very friendly :)-Their chai latte is a surprising stand-out menu item. Perfect for non-coffee drinkers—highly recommend.Im sure its been tough to adjust to the circumstances as a small business. However, here are some areas for improvement Ive noticed:-They sell out super fast. I can only get my hands on bagels early on weekends (go before 11am). Theyre always sold out during my lunch break 1-2pm on weekdays.-Ordering ahead is basically impossible. UberEats pick-up is awful and they dont take orders via phone. I wish they used Toast TakeOut or another more user-friendly platform to at least communicate when theyve sold out of flavors/bagels.-They dont offer a vegan cream cheese. However, they do have a good list of dairy-free options like hummus, avocado, and pb&j, which I appreciate.

High quality bagels in a cozy, bright cafe. Hummus is the vegan spread option (plenty of cream cheese spreads for everyone else), and it was so filling. Whole wheat everything bagel was so hearty, perfectly toasted, and the spread alongside avocado, onion, and tomato made for the perfect bagel sandwich. Add a cold brew coffee, and you have a great start to your day. Welcoming staff and fast service.

Solid spot for a great homemade bagel sandwich and coffee. I ordered a Breakfast BLT w/ avocado on an everything bagel. Really fresh ingredients, thick layers, and amazing texture on the bagel.Came out to a little under $9 which definitely isnt cheap for breakfast - probably a good spot for an occasional splurge instead of your every day breakfast joint.Inside of the shop is a more sparse aesthetic but overall I really loved the basement feel. Seating is TIGHT. My only major complaint. In the warmer months it frees up a bit more with the patio seating but in the winter there are a lot of people who like to hang out and work/study which makes finding a table difficult.Overall a great, local spot in Cambridge.

I haven’t had the luxury of going in yet (ah Covid) but this place is AMAZING. Food is made with care, I get smiley faces on my bag so I can assume these people are sweet and awesome. The food is beyond good and the deviled egg salad on a bagel is to die for. I would fight someone over it if I had to. I absolutely recommend this place any day of the week. If I lived closer I’d be broke. Even if their hot cocoa isn’t the best, it doesn’t matter it’s still decent and their food is AMAZING HOLY COW and they’re fast! Every time I try to go at a normal time (1-2pm) they are sold out of bagels. Which I guess is a good sign! I got lucky a few weeks ago and they were still open and stocked when I went, but asked if they had any vegan cream cheese and they said NO :( They apparently used to have it and stopped stocking it (what?! do you know you’re in Cambridge?!). Given the extreme lack of edible bagels locally, I would encourage Black Sheep to be more egalitarian in their cream cheese selections, to get us vegans fed in Harvard!

Great food and a reasonable price, the only reason I knocked a star off is because I witnessed three staff members including the owner simultaneously not wearing a mask on the job, two were behind the sandwich line and espresso machine. I understand that it gets hot when youre preparing food but its pretty unacceptable to do that without stepping away from the food. The owner reached out to assert how seriously he takes these matters so I assume theyre working on handling things maturely, starting with management.

The staff here is amazing! The vibes are incredible and welcoming. I was delighted by the atmosphere. Ive been a few times at odd hours but stopping here on my commute this Friday, there was no line and I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I got the mocha with oat milk and it was very sweet, almost like a hot chocolate, I had to smell it to check if there was coffee in it. I got the avocado toast on a bagel. Its a little hot with the chili on it, and I have NO IDEA how to eat it without loosing half of it. The flavor is good and the sprouts really compliment it, but I took one bite and half the toppings fell on the ground as I tried to bite through the bagel, is there a trick? Id prefer this on toast!

I just ate one of their awful bready bagels. Stale, no chew, minimal toppings. The barest dusting of poppy. Seriously no better than Dunkin donuts bagels. Coffee is fine. If you go here be sure to get your bagel toasted because they arent good enough or fresh enough to be eaten raw.See attached picture to see what I mean. Thick, bready crumb. This abomination was about 4.50. It was purchased on a Sunday morning.I am not a bagel snob but bruegers is far better. Even the Iggys bagels you buy at whole foods have some texture.I seriously dont see the point in opening an eatery with the world bagel in it, if your bagels are about as good as the ones at Costco.

Its ok but worth a return. The vibe is cool and it has a DIY feel that has been fleeting in Harvard Square lately. The staff are friendly and very relaxed (which helps mitigate some slight line organization chaos). The fact that they have wine, beer, and breakfast options gives this place a feel akin to an Italian Cafe. The personal downside for me was the abysmal drip coffee (sigh). It was far too burned.
