Incredible Hulk cake was very good the fist could’ve been a little better but overall I loved it!

They have not failed me once. They are so creative and I just let them have free creative liberties on every cake I order. I just tell them the colors and they go. Thank you all so much!

If I could give it 0 stars, I would... I order a full sheet cake for my uncles memorial service. The whole cake should of been thrown out. It was so dry. Hell, Sams Club cake would of been better than this.... Never again will I order anything from here... BEWARE THE CAKES ARE DRY AS HELL

I will never order from this place ever again. Even it was the last bakery on earth .I would rather make my own baked cake at home. We order a cake for my sons birthday pick up cake was nothing as we had chosen from the start they were suppose to change wase color from pink to blue due to the decoration we had pick out . The so called person we had order the cake from (Leslie also said she was the so called manager ) had to call us to ask us what was the decoration on the cake we that we had order and she was waiting for us to email it to her. We told her what she was talking about we had chosen it from their catolgue. She then remember and then we told her it was suppose to be for a boy she said ok. And since the decoration was suppose to have sprinkles and a blue flower that was not even on it . It was just plain. The cake was very dry honestly it tasted like an old cake. And if that was not all she even had the nerve to get the Happy Birthday Decoration and stick it in the middle of the cake without asking us or telling us if we wanted it in a certain area of the cake then ask ask if we were going to take the cake open why the hell would we want to take the cake home in an open box with the decoration sticking out. When we could of just put it on ourselves when we were ready to cut the cake. And for this cake that I put the picture up its a joke this cake .Honestly people is it this worth $65.00 dollars and inside just whip cream and yellow cake. Honestly I dont know why they got rid of Karina she was very classy and our order would have been right. Please listen to the bad reviews before ordering from this place... I wish i had. The reviews that are 5 Stars were probably written by their own family or friend. Very disappointed.

I placed an order for a cellphone cake and not only did i send the appropriate photo, but when i came in to pay for the cake they told me i couldnt get what i order by the specified date but they couldnt make it. offering a basic sheet cake. They also changed the shape of the cake from square to round. When i sent photos and specified i wanted a cellphone cake with a snapchat screen. This bakery is so unprofessional. They are inconsiderate and rude. Did not try to rectify the situation and i also feel they were never going to create the cake anyway. No thank you for your services and I hope they get it together and actually listen when taking order for peoples important events.

Zero stars.. When i walked in to this bakery business. I noticed there is no list of prices for anything. There is no prices posted on the wall, in the display cases, or on a flyer to hand customers. Nothing. I asked the young lady what are your prices, is there a list with prices or is there info online, or maybe a QR scan. She responded NO . She has a tone and attitude like you where irritating her for asking a reasonable question. This is my first and last time going here. I could care less how the desserts taste. They can charge you whatever they want, whenever. I gave them a chance because there a local buisness. But I cant really call them a buisness. Poor customer service,etc. I will continue to go to the bakery in lansing on Torrence. Im gonna spread the word as well.. Now I understand why they are empty when I drive past.But I see bye reading the other reviews that the word is getting out.

Cal City Bakery NEVER disappoints. My son’s cake was exactly what I asked for. Jose and the team are the best!! There’s a reason why my family has been getting out cakes from here great quality and very delicious!! Thank you for adding the special touch to my son’s party.

My experience with Cal City Bakery was amazing. The strawberry shortcake was loved by all my family and tasted delicious. We ordered the cake for my daughters first birthday, and I was so focused on preparing for the party I completely forgot to pick up the cake at a specified time. It was Sunday so the bakery was closed earlier. The young ladies stayed open until I got there and I was able to pick it up. Thank you guys so much for helping to make my daughter’s day special and being flexible! I will definitely support again in the future.

Cakes and donuts canoli is delicious as hell but the service women in the front very rude when u call on the phone to order a cake so very rude also the worse are the workers in the front waiting on customers!!!! Need to work on their attitude

My birthday cake I ordered taste dry they were skimpy with the fresh strawberries. Will never use this bakery again.

Hair, gnats & brown specs were on top of the cake, I called & explained to them what I saw & I did not feel comfortable eating the cake . They told me bring the cake back and I will receive a refund but that was not the case when I arrived. Very disappointed

If I could have gave this bakery zero stars I would have, The staff here is very rude especially the lady who makes her eyebrows with a sharpie marker stay away from her, I ordered my son a simple Spiderman cake and they were unable to get it correct they gave me what they wanted to give me not what I paid for stay away especially for children’s birthday cakes

When Calumet Bakery lost my order then made a cake that was completely wrong, Cal City Bakery made the cake with one days notice. It was absolutely beautiful and less expensive. I highly recommend Cal City Bakery. They saved my daughter’s party.

Jose has cheated me out of $500 in unpaid bills. He always says he will pay. He is dishonest and I suggest avoiding his business.BAD BAD BAD!!!Here is a copy of his bogus, bad check he tried to forward. Seriously?He has no intention to pay me!

Ive passed by this place several times and wanted to try it out so I picked up a cake last minute for a birthday dinner party; and was highly disappointed. The cake tasted old, dry, and grainy. My guests as well as myself were not pleased with this. In addition when I chose the cake I was told it would be yellow cake, it was not. My advice is order in advance, and try something other than the chocolate cake.

Heard amazing reviews, wanted to check them out for myself. Customer service was great, however, the final product was a flop. My daughters name was spelled wrong (its Olivia; they spelled it, Oliva), the theme of her birthday cupcakes shaped in #2 was wrong (its Olivias 2 Lit Birthday; they put, Olivas 2 Lite Party) and the writing looked rushed. I was disappointed but they were really good.

Wonderful staff and even the awesome owner and his manager, Leslie make you feel as if your event truly matters. They make great cakes and did I mention how yummy they are😊

We order the Strawberry Cake for my daughter’s birthday and it was delicious. Reminded me of the strawberry shortcake ice cream bars. Not too sweet. Our friend says their donuts are really amazing as well.

Ive been going to this bakery for couple years even when they were on state line absolutely the best bakery in the region. I always order birthday cakes from there. And never a problem with them. Fresh accurate and very delicious. Maybe they should go on the show the next great baker. They have my vote. Keep up the greatest service and products that keep coming out.

Excellent cookies and coffee cakes! We were in from out of town to see family and stopped by to pick up treats and were really happy with the service and the quality of the pastries. Fresh and very tasty! It was really great to walk into a good old Chicago bakery again. Will definitely be back around during our next visit.

So I went here to get a cake for my birthday because a friend of mines sent me here..when I ordered the cake it was to my liking of the idea of it, they did a wonderful job on the look...but the taste of this cake was awful. It was very embarrassing to have so many guests of mines dislike my cake. It definitely left a very weird taste in your mouth. It had very thick cream in the inside and the cake was very dry and crumbled. I dont know if it was an old cake or a last minute job. I just should have went to Jewels.😒

This review is long over due I have ordered a few cake’s from here, and they have been nothing short of amazing every time. The owner and staff have been great, and accommodating with all request. Would definitely recommend this bakery.

This is the worst service I ever had with a bakery. I ordered a cake for my daughters birthday I asked for light icing when decorating the cake. That request was not acknowledged. When I received the cake it was loaded with extra icing. And the most unprofessional part about this experience was that my 70$ cake was placed in a actual cardboard box. I took a picture. This will be my first and last time using there services. I will upload the pic of how my cake was given to me.

I ordered a custom cake for my 30th birthday with what I considered to be a simple design. A gold cake with black stripes to resemble a honey bee. I also provided a picture. When I placed my order I was told fondant would be used which I was fine with. When I picked my cake up I was disappointed the cake was visibly uneven and disproportionate. I got the cake home for a closer look to find out the black stripes were inedible and was simply a black cloth band that wrapped around the cake. The taste of the cake was also disappointing. It was dry and lacked flavor. It tasted like old cake with sugar water frosting. The filling wasnt satisfying either. I am disappointed in my purchase and will no longer do business with this company. However, the staff was friendly.

I was able to get cupcakes with whipped cream frosting at last minute but the actual cake part was not tasty at all. Cup cakes were dry and unevenly baked, I would almost say they were day old. The frosting was the only saving grace. At $1. 00 apiece i was Very disappointed!!!

Not willing to work with out of town customers. Trying to plan an 80th birthday party for my great grandmother, but they require you to come in the store to make a deposit. Which I can’t do because I don’t live in Chicago, but my great grandmother does. They wouldn’t even take a deposit over the phone. My great grand mother is a huge MJ fan. Consider she has dementia and remembers being a fan of him, I guess I’ll have to still with the original bakery that I was going to use. Unfortunately, they don’t do special cakes like that, but will accept a deposit over the phone. Oh well.

I just ordered my first cake from them for next week so I will update when I receive it and taste it! But I have spoken and email the staff several times and each time everyone was friendly and had great customer service. When I went into the store it was smaller than I expected but I must admit it had a small homey feel to it and it was packed with people. The place was cleaner than some Dunkin Donuts Ive been in. They accept the EBT card which was nice and the donuts I did get were big and delicious. Im hoping the cake is as well. If so then I will recommend this place to my friends as another means to get cakes made instead of going to the grocery store.And the cake was delicious I will definitely order again!

My first time at this bakery was great. Asked about ordering a cake, received assistance, the cake was good and my guest were pleased. The 2nd time, my experience was horrible. I ordered a cake for my mothers birthday, paid in full, and asked for some specific decorations. They explained they didnt have them but I could purchase and bring back. When I returned a couple days later, with a box of diamonds she asked how many to place on the cake. I said to use what is needed for the size. She said you have to tell us, I said that would be hard since that not my speciality and showed her an example. Then she said if you give me the whole box, they will use the whole box. I was like they cant use the example and use what needed? She was like no. So weird so I asked to speak to one of the Decorators for assistance and she said they dont speak to customers. I was so mad because she was making the process so difficult. So I just requested a refund. Someone came from the back, did not care to ask why and give me the refund. So my stars are based on Customer Service! I took by business across town (45 mins away) to Roesers Bakery. My family have been using them for 19 years but I wanted to find a bakery that was closer to me and just as great. So Cal City Bakery, please talk to your staff.This happened Aug 2017. Im adding this review now since its time to order another cake and Im using reviews to choose my next bakery. Plus Im hoping this review with ensure your customers do not have my experience.
