Great customer service I was helped as soon as I walked in the door. Good knowledgeable staff members, I will be back again!
I have bought hot tubs from Prestige Pools and Peterson Pools with lousy results and was leery of dealing with another pool/spa company. Just bought a Sundance hot tub from Performance Pools and they have been a pleasure to deal with. Tom at their Burnsville store sold it to us and made some promises and all have been fulfilled. The delivery went terrific and everybody has been great to work with.If you are a building a pool or buying a spa I would recommend these folks ...this from a guy who has built a pool and on his 4 hot tub. Good people to work with!
NEW POOL INSTALL: I had a very rocky start with Nik (Sales) at the beginning as the response time was slow and snarky when he did respond. Didn’t seem to want my business. At that time, I went with them solely because they are the only installer in the Twin Cities that install the the Radiant pool l wanted. So, I decided to “let it go.”I received a call from the owner, Terry that he wanted to start the next day and a week earlier than anticipated. I was thrilled! He and his crew came out and installed my new Radiant pool and I was filling it by Day 3. Again, exciting!I paid my final (large) balance which PPS lost. I contacted them after a significant amount of time and questioned why it hadn’t been cashed. I had to cancel it with my bank and reissue a new one. These things happen and I get this. But, I would think someone would have contacted me: After many emails, I finally got an apology from their finance person.I had a terrible orientation once pool install was complete (day 4). It was pouring rain and their was no sod or concrete yet around pool and yet the orientation person had me go out in rain boots. That lasted 2 minutes as I fell on my knees in the rain /mud and then my boot was stuck in the mud up to my knee. My foot would not move. I was able to leave the boot in the mud and remove my foot and wobbled (barefoot) over to where he continued my 5 minute orientation. Seems he would have stopped at this point! Never should of had me out there. Yet, he did not. I was in the rain, with no sock/boot and now not retaining anything he said. When I asked for a re-do, they sent the same person.I felt quite lost after pool was installed, my sales guy was gone, Installers gone and orientation was poor. As a new pool owner, their were many questions along the way that I would need help with. Who do I call for assistance? For the amount of money spent, a project manager or coordinator should be on staff to be a customers go-to with any and all questions as the current process is very disorienting. Now for the good; it has all happened after install. The PPS Burnsville store has excellent staff working, they are so incredibly nice and helpful. They seem to be more skilled about chemicals versus the equipment however. I have them test my water weekly and they are more than willing to help me learn all that I need as a new pool owner regarding the chemicals. In addition, I ended up finding Bill at service to be helpful. I’m still learning and would love to run things by someone, yet I think even Bill is losing patience with me.I used the contractors that PPS regularly utilizes and they were absolutely fantastic! Easy to talk with, ask questions without feeling as if I’m a burden. Even now, 2 months past install, I can contact them with any question and they would gladly help. First, LCI Landscapes (Fardos) is an amazing designer and so pleasant to partner with. I felt like I was her only client and she always had suggestions on where to help me stay within my budget without losing the look she knew I was looking for. In addition, ConcreteDesign (CD) and owner Chad, was also a fantastic partner. He and crew were meticulous with their work. I also had many questions and Chad was quick to respond and help. Again, even now I can contact him with questions and he will kindly respond. Both of these contractors are true examples of great businesses. They don’t make you feel like a problem, after payment is paid in full.I have completely fallen in love with my Radiant pool. It is like a mini vacation right in my backyard and Performance Pool and Spa knew how to install a pool. They know what they are doing with actual pool installs. Yet they have areas to improve in and mainly around communications. Provide a new pool owner the feeling of open communication from the beginning until the owner is fully oriented and comfortable. Remember, this is a HUGE investment and the entire experience should be fantastic.
I’m writing this to let it be known how much we appreciate Nik Hawley! First got to know Nik when he helped us buy out pool 3 years ago! Super knowledgeable and so incredibly nice! To this day he still goes out of his way to help us when we have questions!! Would HOGHLY recommend him to anyone.... and I have!!! Thank you Nik!!! You deserve a nice pay raise for everything you do!!
Im happy with my sundance spa, but the follow through from the staff was less than ideal. It felt like after the sale was complete, I was no longer a priority.
I hired Bill at PPS after explaining to him that I needed help getting my pool vacuumed ASAP and my pool water clear to enjoy the pool for the last 6 weeks of summer. He explained it was $115 a trip plus chemicals. After week 1 (And $199) I was told my pool wasn’t clean enough to vacuum it. Even though I easily vacuumed it with its clarity. After week 2 I was told the same (Another $199 later). 10 days later I was charged for $594!! My email stated they needed to use a lot of chemicals and that the vacuuming didn’t work because the iron was stuck to the liner. With the pool clarity being the same as it started, I brushed and vacuumed my pool with ease the day before they were here to hopefully reduce my cost. Imagine my surprise with a bill of $594 and no Improvement. Well, over 3 weeks and almost $1,000 in with PPS, my pool was basically unchanged. I asked Bill when I could expect results, he said he didn’t know but hopefully in 2 more weeks... leaving me with 1 week of potential pool use for the price of $1,600-$2,500 over the 6 weeks. Bill assured me he hoped it would be clean, but couldn’t guarantee it for that last week. I own 2 businesses, and I have never treated or been treated like this before. Bill was not only not understanding, he was unapologetic and didn’t offer any solutions for me. I wouldn’t recommend these guys to anyone! I couldn’t have been more disappointed.
I came here with a family friend to get the water for their pool tested, friend couldnt handle any sort of chlorine in air (as a whippersnapper myself it was totally fine, friend is sensitive.) Tim was wonderfully accommodating and professional! I personally wasnt even shopping and was thoroughly impressed! Well done sir.
Got the products that I needed for the pool
I have always received the most attentive service at this location. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. If they dont have the information that you need, they immediately contact others for the right answer. You never get impression that their way is the only way as yo do in some stores.I am glad I found this store after Watsons sold us a pool, then packed up and left town.
Great service and timely too. Helped get a quick orientation when we bought a house with a pool and gave excellent advice and lesson.
We just got our pool installed a month ago...WE LOVE IT!! Our saleperson Nik was so helpful and answered any question we had. Once construction started, every single member of the PPS team has been great to work with. This is our first pool and they have been so patient with us. I am so glad we went with them. I highly recommend PPS for anyone looking to install a pool!!
Very helpful when a I visit the store for my spring chemicals the pool looks great all year! If I try to do it my self for less the pool ends up looking green at times but then they are always available to help clear it up with out judgment!
Purchased a pool last fall. They cut all the sprinkler lines and buried them. Nightmare for the us to try and find them, had to dig up our yard with holes and fix the sprinkler system. They put one panel design different then the rest of the pool. I have called the sales department and will not return my calls. Love the pool, would make sure if you hire this company you watch everything they do so you dont spend weeks fixing their makes. Cost us more than what we expected with all the trouble.
Ive been using Performance Pool and Spa in Burnsville since acquiring our Sundance hot tub the summer of 20145. Since then Ive been consistently impressed with the quality service Ive received. While one might pay a buck or two more for a product you could get on-line, the customer service and water testing is worth it! Last week I had an issue with my hot tub. I sought help and received assistance from a couple employees on Christmas Eve Day. I later received a phone call from Joel, the store manager, asking if Id been taken care of and if the advice and product had solved my problem. (It had.) Joel was on a day off and it was the afternoon of Christmas Eve! Exemplary personal service like that is virtually unheard of these days.
Have been going in for 5 years now have never had any issues always got my questions answered.
Friendly! Very helpful! Very knowledgeable! Keep up the good work! Thanks
Amazing service. The guys went above and beyond ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If there was a ZERO stars rating thats what I would give. The service department is horrible with customer service and communications. The telephone number provided always goes to a voicemail. When instructed on voicemail or email to call a certain telephone number, they end up calling the WRONG number (I have told them at least 3 times that I dont have access to my phone while at work, yet they keep calling on my cell phone during the day). They advised it would take 2-3 days to repair a leak in my pool. It ended up taking longer than 3 weeks (July 20th to August 17th). They came out and to demo and replace the parts. Charged my card the next day. And left two holes dug up around my new skimmers for 2 weeks. We tried calling numerous times but kept getting the run around about how busy they were. After they came back to fill the concrete, the fuse for the pump died. We replaced it ourselves and couldnt get the pump working right. We asked them to come back since it worked BEFORE they did any repairs on it. Turns out the valves were in the wrong position. They charged me $100 to turn the valves on. If I am paying someone $3500 to fix my pool, I expect the pool to be running before they leave. This was not the case. Unbelievable for the last charge! I am very disappointed and frustrated with this company. I would not recommend going through Performance Pools and Spa ever. I will never get service through them again!Update:PPS tried to reach out to me. They said they are unable to remove the last service charge but can only take $20 off. Also, after all the repairs and $$, I still have a leak! Water leaking 1 1/2 inch a day.$377.18 for the air test to tell me I have leaking skimmers.$3240 for parts and labor$99 to turn on valves because pump wasnt working.$3686.19 total to have my pool closed for 1 month and still have a leak faster than before the repair. UNBELIEVABLE!
Terrible experience. Worst service received from any Minnesota company - and that goes for pre-purchase, in the store, and even after sale. Do not go to Performance Pool if you can avoid it. Here is what happened: We have an above-ground pool in Jordan, Minnesota, and were interested in buying a pool treatment system that would maintain water quality and sanitation, as well as limit algae growth. We confirmed with Performance that they carried the system we wanted before driving the 40 minutes there from Jordan. They assembled the components, and twice we asked Is this all we will need?, to which they replied Yes. Thats all. You have everything youll need. We got home to learn they had only sold us pool sanitizers and the like but had not even given us the necessary dispenser for everything - the key component - meaning wed spent $200 for nothing and wasted our time with a 1hr and 20 minute roundtrip. We called them back, and after an exchange, they promised on Monday, July 3, that they would order what we in fact had needed in the first place, and that it would be in on Wednesday, July 5. They would call us on Wednesday, they said. We received no phone call on Wed, or on any other day from them. When we called them yesterday, Saturday, they had not even ordered the promised dispenser at all. In asking why they never called us, they claim to have ordered the wrong part as though that explained why they didnt bother even to tell us that. Totally non-responsive. We drove the 40 minutes back there again just yesterday to return everything, given the lack of customer service or concern. The treatment in the store at that time was even worse, if you could imagine. The salesperson(Ted) told us to Just order it from Amazon, after expressing a high degree of indifference to the service wed received and the time they had wasted. He could not have had a more sarcastic tone. The manager (Jack) was standing right there when the salesperson sarcastically told us to order from somewhere else, said nothing/did nothing, and neither one of them so much as offered to put in a re-order(not that we would have wanted it from them anyway). The final insult came when the salesperson swiped our credit card for the refund, and no kidding, literally tossed it over the counter at us. We felt this business surely has an owner who ought to care about this kind of dis-service, but for our part, we will never come there again and will never recommend them to anyone. Terrible performance. Terrible service.
Support your local poolstore....Why?Recently purchased a replacement pool motor from them (as opposed to the internet) because they were there for support which is something I liked as I had never done this before. Not only was the pump $300 more than on the internet but when it came time for support I found out from their service department that the motors had been on the shelves for about 3 years and the manufacturer was out of business. Additionally, when I called for support both the store manager and the service department said they had no idea how to connect the motor.Next time Ill save the $300 and get, at least, the same support from the Internet community...
Had them install our pool 3 years ago. Ive had them back to open and close the pool since. When they started installing the pool they started digging at about 8 AM. By Noon it was snowing heavily and we got about 10 of heavy wet snow. It ended up being a nightmare spring with lots of water compounded by heavy clay soils that allowed no drainage. The auto pool cover box filled with water and wouldnt drain at all over a couple weeks. It took longer than expected, but they ended up digging in french drains around to pool at no cost and its been great since we got it up and running.
I havent bought anything from them yet but I called about 1 chlorine tablets for my intex quickset pool. They said they have 1.5lb containers (small, like I asked about) for about $15. Thats about the same price as I just found on ebay. So I have no reason to give them a poor rating. The woman that answered the phone was professional and had an answer for my question without putting me on hold. Thats all for now.
Polaris pool cleaner service - was quick professional and reasonably priced.
Always friendly and knowledgeable. I bought a Cal Spa and wish I had bought it from Performance Pool and Spa. Next time for sure.
Great for learning how to swim good teachers
