Neat. Well lit. Good prices. Cotton fabrics are organized and on shelves. Ribbon and trims by the yard. Other specialty fabrics on tubes, on open shelving.
Beautiful fabrics jam packed in. Amazing Batik selection. Be careful of the intersection to get there on Chowan and Hwy 13. Avoid it if you can…but SR Harris is worth it for the selection.
Lots of fabric. People are helpful and lots of kits to pick from. Just patterns need to come with the kit. They do not answer your emails. Need to call to get patterns.
Loved it! Neat and organized, gorgeous quilt kits at wonderful prices, wonderful employees and very fun fabrics.
First time here, they had %50 off all regular priced fabric when I went it, which is obviously awesome! Good selection of upholstery, clothing fabric and quilting fabric!!!!!
The selection was good and the staff was friendly. I was shopping and not buying.
As far as SR Harris goes, this place is worth the trip. Compared to the one in Brooklyn Park where I usually go, it’s smaller. There are still mondo amounts of apparel fabric at a steal and I still walked out with Way more fabric than I planned for. However, the selection is smaller unless you quilt. It seemed like that set up was actually better.
I love the wide variety of fabric at their Brooklyn Park location
Great! Always find what I need!
Loads of material nice stuff and helpful friendly help.
I was greeted today by a very obnoxious mask Karen when I walked into the store. I had a mask on but apparently it was not good enough for her. She stated that I needed a mask. I stated I have a mask. She then said it needs to cover your mouth. I said it does cover my mouth. She said that the mask I was wearing was not allowed in this store. I checked their website and it says a face mask. I was wearing a face shield that is accepted in Target, Walmart, Menards and other stores. There was only 3 people in the huge store. I can no longer wear that cloth masks as my face became infected. I have been yelled at by other employees previously when I didnt have a number (which I didnt want to touch since everyone else touched it also) and she also made me move my mask higher even though there was no one else in the store. I have just started a new business and I was intending to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on fabric at this store. BUT that will no longer be the case. I am in customer service and this is NO WAY to treat a customer!
Very clean and polite, the workers are very knowledgeable and the mask rule in place and enforced I feel safe shopping in the environment.
Always a pleasure to come visit this store.
Love this store but very dangerous for my checkbook
I walked in early afternoon. The cashier asked if I had a number. Not sure what she meant I just looked at her and she said I have one its ok. All of the sudden this other woman said, very loud NO. There is a note on the door. She was very loud. I was so embarrassed. I am handicapped and have issues. Handicaps that are not noticed. I was not ugly or rude. I have never been treated by such a rude obnoxious person
Every type of fabric you would ever need
All I can say is EW when I think of this location. Me and my mothers experience here started off well, but then it ended not the best. We were instantly helped as soon as we walked in but everything kinda got weird when we got to the cutting table. We both were waiting for our fabric to be cut for a good 3 minutes which I didnt mind at all until the lady who worked there totally ignored us and went staright to the white lady next to us who just had got up to the table. She literally looked at us and acknowledged our presence... but still helped her. We didnt say anything just walked off to go find something else. We then got helped by another lady who barely wanted to communicate with us and when she did her tone was a little passive as if she didnt want to help us. All I can say is we were polite despite our treatment compared to the other customers. I will never go here again NOR recommend it. Overall, their customer service is bad. I was only trying to find a place close to my home to gather things for MY BUSINESS. I will take it somewhere else in the future.
Great service. But they getting less inventory
I went here with my Mom to buy fabric to make some masks. The selection were ok. It didnt have all the current and popular selections like sports and cartoon prints. However, the prices were a little cheaper than that at JoAnn fabric. With coupons JoAnn fabric pricing could be on par with this place with JoAnn having the advantage of having more selections in the sports, cartoons, and current popular fabric. I do shop in both places in case I cant find one in one place I go to the other.
Very expensive even with half off prices, they do have a very neat and organized selection. Would only go there again if I was looking for something very specific.
Love, love, love this place. They have the most fabric you could ever imagine. The employees are nice and knowledgeable about fabric and sewing questions. Super safe in regard to Covid-19 safety and precautions.
Yes, its much smaller than the Brooklyn Park location, but this location is much closer to my home and still has a very good selection. I will still occasionally drive to the other location, but this one meets most of my needs. I appreciate that they are limiting the number of customers in the store at any given, requiring masks (worn properly), and being diligent about sanitation.
This is my first time to the store. Its amazing Ive never seen so many fabrics. It was so amazing that I think I might get back into sewing. I went there to get indoor outdoor fabric to have some cushions redone. they do allow only a limited number of people in the store at a time so dont be surprised if you have to wait a little while to get it.
They are doing a great job with the number of people in store and sanitizing. Now if we can just get the customers to understand that when there is a line that you get in line.
Great place to go for projects big and small! There is sooo much it is the Willy Wonka fabric store! And the prices are great!
I’m new to sewing and it was really exciting to see an actual fabric store rather than a joann’s. They have great selection. However I wish the signs were a little bit bigger cause I struggled to find what I was looking for. The women working there are okay. I asked what a product is used for and she just told me she didn’t know and that was it, rather than asking a coworker. The one who checked me out was in a pretty sour mood too, like I was an annoyance to be there.
I love SR Harris. They have the most unusual and delightful fabrics.
Love SR Harris! Fabrics of every kind and in larger bolts than you can find at other places. Reasonable prices for the fabric, as everything is 50% off the price. Staff has always been helpful when I have been in.
Just visited here for the first time. It was easy to find. It was well laid out and organized by color and pattern ( florals, polka dots, stripes). Lots of fat quarters, also organized, and accessories. O was very impressed, and will go back.
Always pleasant and helpful. Great prices. Lots to pick from! You’ll love it if your an upholster, sewer, or quilter! Amazing store!
This store has a lot of selection of Cotton fabrics but so sad that the service is horrible now (The one in Brooklyn Park is better than in here ) - have been there a couple times and loved this place but after a couple weeks ago, I don’t think I will go/buy from there again. Stopped there to get some fabrics and one of the staff screamed and yelled at me saying to put on my mask on my nose rudely (I had no intention for that but the mask was too lose and I was going to fix it but had to make sure that my hand was cleaned b4 touching it But she yelled b4 I had a chance to fix it). I was very shocked when she screamed at me for the first time and b4 I had a chance to fix it or even to say anything, she yelled at me again (totally 3x). When I was at the register, I found out that she ran the register. I was very, very sad And felt ashamed, too, since there were some people there and thought about it while one hour driving to go home. I just don’t understand untilnow, I did not work there or even work for her but why she treated a customer like that . If she’s responsibility for that, why not use polite way to remind customers about the masks
Even though i could not get what I was looking for to redo the seats on my kitchen chairs, i was impressed by the volume of sewing related items. I would venture there is over an acre of fabrics and things related to sewing. They staff was very helpful for a novice like myself. I did get good info on other places to look for my needs.
The place looks really small but you get inside and it is massive. So much fabric in so much variety! A lot cheaper than buying fabric at Joanns like I usually do. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. This was my first visit but I will definitely be heading back again soon!
Best fabric store Ive been to in the Midwest! Great place to find apparel, household and quilting fabrics. Great prices too! The staff member I spoke with was very knowledgeable.
For a crafter, this place is heaven on earth. I have gone to the other location and love it, and pretty sure it is bigger with more material but for what I needed today, the selection was perfect and I didnt feel overwhelmed or like I had to spend hours looking at everything-which I totally feel like when I go to the other location! They had exactly what I was looking for, even if they didnt it was great to check this location out!
I always find good fabric at extremely good prices. The staff is very helpful. Lovely trims and notions. There is A LOT to go through make sure you have water and a snack to pace yourself.
Far away but less overwhelming than the main store
Wonderful fabric selection, they always have what I need! Great staff, always helpful and friendly.
Great variety of fabric. The lady who helped me out and cut my fabric for me was kind, patient, helpful. Ill go back, highly recommend.
I could spend hours in here! More colors, textures, styles, types and embellishments than you could possibly see at one stop. And its not just the same basic stuff!! Prices are excellent as well imho. Be willing to dive in and you wont regret it🐦
I went to this store last week for the first time the lady there was very nice super fast setvice.i needed material to make a face mask for work she asked what style I was looking for then brought a bunch to the table by the glass for me to choose.i picked out the ones I needed she went and cut it up I was there and out in less then 20 minutes.i would totally recommend this place
Love this store. Service is great. They are helpful and answer any questions. Selection is great too.
Great fabric options at reasonable prices. In addition to the quilting and home decor fabrics that are most of what most generic stores stock they also have a good selection of apparel fabrics one would actually want to wear. A bit more visually organized and less warehouse-like than their other location. On my first visit I walked in about 10 minutes before they closed and pelted the customer service people with a bunch of where would I find... questions. Despite my being the annoying customer they were very polite and helpful.
Staff is quite friendly and helpful. There is a LOT of fabric selection which is nice if you go in knowing what you want. It is overwhelming if you are just browsing. The reason this is not 5 stars is because their notions wall is pretty basic. I am a person that likes to one-stop-shop. Excellent place for fabric needs and decent sales/coupons (all regular priced fabric was 50% off today) but limited amount of notions.
This is the best fabric store in the Twin Cities. The staff is really helpful and you can get anything here at a really great price. They have everything from silk to leather. There are speciality fabrics and trims, a huge upholstery section and more. I bought a lot of lace and trim. There are rows and rows... if you sew youve probably already gone here but if not.... go! Go right now! 😁
Nice wide variety of fabrics, need to ask about sales and discounts to make sure they make those adjustments before you check out! Very helpful staff and knowledgeable of fabrics! I will go back again!
Amazing store. Lots of hard to find items here. Selection is fantastic
An amazing collection of a wide variety of fabric. So many high quality choices. Excellent prices; get their online coupons. Staff is knowledgeable and efficient.
This place is HUGE! They offer a huge selection of not only fabrics but the necessary accessories that are needed to get everything going! Staff is very knowledgeable about where items are and what you might need for a project. Just Awesome!
Awesome customer service!!
Went there to buy 2 items:1. Foam for cushions - had to grab a chair in order to climb high enough to get foam down myself. Then the gal cut foam in one large piece and i asked if she would cut it in half (i need 2 pieces of foam) and she said no!!2. Sheer fabric for window treatment. Had 7 yards cut and when i got to counter to pay they rang it at $30/yd. And I explained the roll said $6/yd. She said it was marked wrong. I told her I didnt want it. Never got an apology or anything.Staff was not friendly nor customer service oriented.
Lots of choices! Pretty good deals too. The kind of store you can get lost in.
Its got so much you didnt know you needed ;)
Widest selection of batiks and quilting fabrics Ive ever seen. Great quality.
If you like waiting outside for a half hour for overpriced and dirty fabric, then this place is for you!
So nice to have a southern location in the Twin Cities! You NEVER disappoint!!
Friendly staff and very helpful. The selection is enormous so having a knowledgeable staff is great.
Its so easy to find what Im looking for unlike the other SR Harris we have to spend the afternoon digging for what you need.
Some staff has cultural indignant attitudes that I run into every time I am there. But also helpful staff. Warehouse mess that I cannot afford to buy the half price fabric, on a professional salary. Glorious fabrics but outdated. Bins and bins of appliques displayed horribly, but they still want full price for them. They definitely need a new marketing manager.
Holy textiles! I joined my wife to pick some upholstery fabric and was blown away by the choices here. Friendly and helpful staff. No chairs to sit on while you wait, but theres plenty to look at for guys too. Great leather collection.
Staff very helpful, beautiful fabric of all types, love the ready to sewkits the button bin, all sewing accessories and pleasant well displayedrows of cotton fabric. A plus for me - good lighting so true colors are just that!
SR Harris is my favorite place to shop for fabrics. I almost do not want any one else to know about it, but there is enough fabric to go around! The staff are all so friendly, esp. Gaby! ( she always wants to know exactly what I am making)
Excellent staff and incredible stock ! Offering machine repairs and contacts for custom commissions.
Amazing selection of all sorts of different fabrics. Great if your looking to make your own clothes or need decorator fabric! Be sure to check out the button bin; you can kill a lot of time just sifting through it
(After reading other reviews) while the staff is a bit stand-offish I have never had a bad experience with anyone at the Burnsville location. While slow to give an opinion when asked, I’ve had some very pleasant discussions with staff.Prices are always good...sometimes exceptionally good. Selection is very good, and any gaps are filled in by visiting their huge warehouse store. (A designer on HGTV said, on a design show, that the warehouse store was second (in the US) only to NYC, and first if looking for 1-stop shopping.)My only frustrations are that many fabric bolts do not have fabric content labels, and that the fabric I want is often at the bottom of a large stack of bolts. Unless you are looking at quilt fabrics, which are easily accessed, bring a strong friend!!Overall fabulous experience!
SR Harris is the best place in town to buy fabric. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. The Brooklyn Park location has significantly more selection, but it can be overwhelming and a little dusty. The Burnsville location is easy to shop.
Nice selection and good prices
This place is amazing. They have the most beautiful selection of fabrics, very well organized, and cleaner than their competitor (BY FAR). The staff are friendly and leave you alone, although maybe too much... A few times I have been in I have looked for at least an hour with no one askiing me if I needed any help. Otherwise, they are AH-MAZING. Oh, for some reason they dont sell embroidery floss... Which is a little odd. Go here!!! This is my HAPPY PLACE.
Nice staff, well organized, large selection
This store has an amazing assortment of fabrics of all kinds as well as notions. Very nicely organized! I love it!
Ive always gone to the BP location! I love seeing this one & this one had different stuff the BP didnt. Great storr all around
This SR harris is much more organized BUT offers a smaller variety of selection from the one located in Brooklyn Park. They cut your fabric for you at this location which is nice.Staff is always friendly and store is clean!
My first visit to this wonderful store. It is clean and well organized. Everyone is very helpful but not pushy. After reading about the main store, I was prepared to be overwhelmed but was pleasantly surprised!
We always have fun at SR Harris! The fabrics are beautiful and we always find inspiration just walking down the rows and rows!
So many different fabrics to choose from! A quilters dream.
Amazing selection of fabric located on the opposite side of the planet from the original in BP
Great products at a wonderful price. Lots of knowledge people to help.
Great staff large high quality cotton fabric selection
Awesome selection and prices! The store is clean and organized. The quilting fabrics are somewhat hard to shop however bc they have too many packed into the shelves. Other than that, great!
Awesome if you love fabrics! Not as big as the North side location, but lots of options at reasonable prices.
They have a wonderful selection of fabrics, and its clean! Their other store in Brooklyn Park is bigger, but this one is really well-organized. The staff is also super nice and helpful!
Great staff. Very friendly and helpful. Good selection. Ive been happy with everything I have purchased. Most important, its neat, clean and organized.
I love this store and the people have always been so very nice! All of the fabric is 50% off and I have gotten lace and buttons from them as well. I highly recommend the Burnsville location. The Brooklyn Center the staff have been borderline rude. Burnsville staff are friendly and helpful, this is where I do a majority of my fabric shopping for my small business.
I love this store!!!!The owner was very friendly and helpful. A bit overwhelming at the amount of fabric. Allow plenty of time to shop. Store in Burnsville is great, as well.
Inexpensive fabrics. They always seem to have 1/2 price fabric sale. Great quilt ideas as well. So many fabrics to choose from.
They have a great staff, very friendly and helpful. Also they do a great job keeping the store neat and orderly. They look and feel successful.
I always come here when looking for rare fabric, and it is a great place to get inspired. Very helpful staff and well organized.
50% off all materials. Good selection.
A lot of selection and good prices
Good fabric store, but I should have checked my receipt when I was there instead of when I got home 1 hr away. For several marked remnants, I was charged 1 1/2 yard price for 1/2 yards and 1.8 yards for 1/8 yard, etc. Mistakenly paid about 3-4 times more than cost for several remnants.
This place has the best selection of fabric Ive ever seen or heard of. Its a warehouse.
Good store with lots of fabrics to choose from
Lots of pretties; cotton knits, fleeces, wools, batiks, quilt fabrics, upholstery fabrics, dress fabrics, notions, outdoor fabrics, AND clean restrooms! The staff cuts the fabrics for you.
