These guys went beyond what’s expected of a business ..they paid for my shipping of my lower unit due to some unforeseen delays. It arrived in time for my tournament in which I placed high enough to cover half the cost .. the unit is running better than ever . They are not only a great rebuild shop, they are good honest people..Highly recommend!Eddie Rodriguez
Fantastic service. This shop is professional and technically capable with vreat service. I had an older Yamaha 150 in for carb rebuild and lower unit replacement. The motor runs like a top. The lower unit had a faulty water pump impeller but since i was rebuilding the boat i was way past the warranty period before i found out. I brought it in and doug replaced it no questions asked. As with any shop like thisif you are reasonable and respectful you get the best response. Its clear they want their customers to be happy. I would go back there and will refer frie3
As a manager of another local boat repair shop we used Boat Motor Recyclers for our used boat parts and lower unit components. The parts department is very knowledgeable and helpful. Whenever we need a used lower unit we call BMR first, and they usually carry the rebuilt lower unit we need. It’s great to have this used boat parts store in the southern Twin City metro area.
Great place. Jumps right in right away to help.
I needed the entire power tilt/trim and valve assembly for my 1986 Mercury. I spent hours trying to find it online somewhere, even checked the BMR website with no luck. Eventually, I just called BMR and I talked to the owner and he new exactly the part I needed without me having to give him a part number or anything, and he was right. I would definitely call them., even if you tried searching their website. I gave them 4 stars only because I think I overpaid a little for the part, but they were the only ones who had it and they new that, and I was just glad to find one. Ill definitely try them first the next time I need something for my boat.
Be ready to pay much more than they quote you. These boat shops are all the same give you a quote for a simple oil change, fuel filter of 160.00 and when i went to pick it up surprise the total bill was 270.00 said they had trouble getting the filter out. Go to RSI in Shakopee the most honest place around they give you a price and when to go to pick it up its always within a buck or two of what they quoted you. Plus this place said 1-2 days turnaround I had to call them 3 times to see where my boat was at never called me once. STAY AWAY
Great help getting the parts needed for my boat and not selling me unneeded items. I will be back!
I was so happy to find this place. They are a local company that had the switch box I needed for my Mercury 50s classic 45 hp. The price was great to. We were able to enjoy the 4th of July on our pontoon because Boat Motor Recyclers. I recommend BMR located in Burnsville to anyone.
I will never, never, ever recommend this dealer to anyone! I brought a 4 HP johnson and my 9.9 Mercury to them for new seals and impellers. They busted the Seal housing on my 4 HP. When I returned back to them they finally agreed to replace the lower housing and supposedly put new seals into it. After inspection when I returned home I found that they had also cracked the seal housing on the 4 HP motor and sent me out the door stating all was fine!During this time they also had my 9.9 Mercury that I had also requested to have seals replaced. Upon starting it at home I found they did not have the shifter set correctly. After 5 trips back, they finally put 3 people on it and instead of properly making the adjustment, they used a pry bar and a long screw diver to force the shift lever into place! Then I found that they had broken the lower case and at first again refused to acknowledge the damage. WARNING- if you should decide to go there, take photos-really good photos! They may be good with big motors, but think twice before bringing in a two cycle! Remove your propeller and take good photos as when the propeller is installed you cannot see the damage. I now have to buy another lower casing for the 4HP ! I really wish I could give them a good review, but I cannot! I have no complaints about the owner as he tried to make it right!, it was their service rep that kept hiding the damage from me!
I bought a boat from BMR and had issues with the motor the first time on the water. I called James and he said bring it in no worries! They fixed it free of charge and it runs great. Would recommend!
Great services I had ordered a part from another location waited two weeks, just to be told part is back ordered. Next day I was informed not available. Called these guys and they had it the next day. You got my business and will refer others. Very helpful crew
I found this business by online search. I received help as soon as entering the door. They were very knowledgeable. I will use them again.
I ordered a $900.00 item and then payed an additional $85.00 dollars for shipping for a total of $985.00. I miss ordered the wrong part, I needed a 25 inch lower unit and ordered a 20 inch lower unit. I made an attempt to contact the seller to maybe swap the unit I ordered for the right one. Unfortunately this seller doesnt work weekends so I couldnt talk to anyone. I really needed the part as I had family coming to town and I was supposed to take them fishing. I finally was contacted by the seller on the following Monday but I already reordered another lower unit from somewhere else and much cheaper as well for a much better unit. I told them that I was going to return the unit and that I never even tried to install the unit. I was informed that I would be charged a 10% restocking fee $90.00 and I also was going to have to pay for the shipping back to the seller which was $197.00. So lets break it down, I purchased the part for $985.00 and paid $287.00 to give the seller back his junk. I would recommend NOT using this seller to purchase anything from them. I also told my mechanic about had happened to me and he said that he had purchased from this seller before but will not from now on. I work in shipping where I work and I know what it takes to ship something somewhere! Thanks Boat Motor Recyclers! You will not get anymore of my money :(
Nice people and did a great job fixing up my old boat
James and his team are FANTASTIC. I was given a DOA on my boat motor by another repair shop. I ended up at BMR, James did a quick evaluation, gave me some hope.. My motor runs like a champ now.. Thank you and your whole team.
Gave me the wrong part, but had no trouble ruining it.
Awesome Fleet farm! Super big and very clean!
Friendly staff. Exceptional service. Turned boat around in 1 day. Overall great experience— will be going here for all future boat repairs.
I havent actually done any business with them yet but when I inquired about a used motor they got a hold of me right away and took my email and said they would be looking out for me, so we will see.
Been here a couple times. Always helpful & friendly. Will assist in finding the part u need if they dont have it in stock.
Great service at competitive prices, also they stand behind their work and parts
Friendly, knowledgeable, and fair prices.
Very friendly, seemed like good people!
Ordered a rebuilt power trim/tilt unit for my 2006 Optimax. Unit was received damaged, twice, as received from UPS. Boat Motor Recyclers made good on it both times and I finally received an in tact unit. Installed it April 2017 and it works perfectly. Thanks for making good on your products.
Had a rebuilt lower unit for 2016 Yamaha from them. Working great. Saved about a thousand dollars over new. They have custom packaging for lower units to make it easy to ship. Will buy from them again.
Nice people good information very helpful to get your boat working..
Inspect your boat after bringing it here for repairs. If you dont know what to look for, or arent mechanically inclined, dont bring your boat here. When I got my boat back from them after being charged three hours of labor for replacing a fuel filter and draining gas from the engine compartment (seems about 1-2 hours too high, but Im not familiar with draining fuel from an engine), the battery wasnt strapped down and was bouncing around the engine comartment while pulling it, and the flame suppressor cap was not installed. Both of these are a major fire risk according to safety codes. Thankfully, I inspected their work before starting the engine, as the terminals of the battery were touching the same piece of metal. When they called me back after the weekend, they were unapologetic, acting like nothing was wrong, and came off arrogant, saying its, not a fire risk, you just need to turn on the blower, and reinstalling the flame suppressor cap ...is a simple job. Just bolt it down. Obviously, the job is simple for a boat mechanic, but its not for a person who has no idea what the part is even called.
These guys are great.. very happy with all the service that they provide.Ive bought from BMR and have had repairs done and all have met my expectations. There who I think of when it comes to boat motors in Minnesota.ThanksJim Myers
Bought a motor from them last year. Staff was helpful and honest. Would buy from again
Love this place. They are so nice and deal with a lot of crap. Everything was shipped and here on time. I recommend this to anyone
Helped us out with our outboard in a pinch. Thanks 👍
Super friendly staff, honest business, good place to get boat parts
Brought boat in for repair on sept 17 2018. Nature of the repair was a new power head for my Yamaha outboard motor. ( rebuilt engine). Picked boat up on sept 28th and proceeded to have issues with the motor not running correctly. Brought boat back two different times with no luck as to a solution to the motor issues. On the third attempt I received a phone call from Doug stating the boat was good to go and to come pick it up. He then proceeded to tell me i owed him 800$ for new fuel pumps. This work was never authorized, he then proceeded to tell me he will hold my boat until I pay him 800$. I tried all options to work with Doug on this issue but he was not willing to work it out. He proceeded to tell me this was normal. I dont know of any shop that would proceed to provide a service without communication with the customer, or authorization to proceed with the repairs. Stay away from this place.
Nice place. They treated me very well. Probably the only place in the US you could have your 1966 OMC sterndrive repaired
The best to deal with! I am glad I found them but wish they were closer..
Got what I needed and met my expectations also customer service was great
These guys were our business neighbor for 2 years and seeing how James and the crew operate I would absolutely recommend anyone who needs boat related parts/service to go here! Great guys!
Needed a used boat prop at a reasonable price. Good experience
These guys shipped defective parts right out of the box and refuse to replace or even work with me to get me a good part. Horrible customer service.
Amazing service, fast, honest, good work Im recommending them to all my friends. Thank you guys.
People there are great to deal with
