Business was advertised as open now but was closed when we got there three hours before their closing time. We got up early and drove over 400 miles to get here before closing time - on our way home. Very disappointed as I was very interested in two boats. They should advertise as by appointment instead of limited hours. Shouldnt have to wait 20 minutes for someone to show up after driving out of our way.

Small town business and they treated me very good. Tight squeeze around inside, but they seemed to have anything youd need for kayaking. Thanks guys

Very knowledgeable and despite telling me his stock was low until October, I felt like he had a ton - still maintains a larger inventory than Ive seen anywhere else. Can come off as brash if you take it the wrong way but guy is just very passionate about the field/business. Not the place to go if your only aspiration is low quality china kayaks. Owner gave me a bunch of information to help me prep for a purchase this winter and gave me some location ideas.

My wife and I had been looking to buy a kayak in preparation for next spring. We had been to Black Friday sales and tried to find kayaks at big box stores but were frustrated with the choices (or rather lack therof) and no real knowledge base by their employees. Frustrated, we internet searched and found this place to be closest to us. Being 2 hours away, and after reading the one star reviews, I hesitated, but drove over for a look. It didnt look like a place of business that I was expecting. When we walked in, the first words out of my mouth was I think we are out of our league . I was uncomfortable looking at pricing, but Cherry, one of the owners, was extremely helpful, courteous, and PATIENT! After letting us sit in several kayaks, and explaining the many aspects of each, Steve came in. Between the two of them we learned a lot and were thankful we had not purchased a kayak yet. I asked Steve to convince me why I should by one of these and not a nice box store unit. Lets just say that we went back a few days later (yes, they made a special appointment for us) and wound up buying 2 kayaks, paddles and life jackets. Spent more money than planned, but am very happy with educated choices. Thanks to Steve and Cherry for information, education, and patience. We are looking forward to a more enlightened and safer kayaking experience than we would have had if we went the other route.Jim and Linda

Stopped by looking to purchase 2 kayaks, the guy behind the counter was helping another customer. He looked a little bugged we were there then he left without letting us know. We stood around looking for a while at the great selection, but he didnt come back...

Great service and even greater kayaks. Purchased a barely used Bonafide RS117 that looks beautiful. As an amateur kayaker they even helped me find a paddle to fit my needs. Highly recommended.

We had seen a particular canoe on River Basin’s website which interested us. When arriving at River Basin, I admit I had my reservations. From the outside, the building does not look impressive. Once inside however, the array of kayaks, canoes, and equipment is exceptional. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon while the owners were preparing for an annual demonstration the following day. It was obvious they were quite busy, but they took the time to help find the canoe in which we were interested, gave expert advice on paddling, on equipment, and accessories, and helped load and secure our canoe on our truck.

Steve and Cherry went out of their way to help us after my paddle was stolen on a trip down the Mississippi. We ended up buying two paddles with the prices being so reasonable. Can’t thank them enough for their help!

Was recommended this place by a coworker of my wife. We drove by after hours just to find it and it looks like a dump. I called to get info on taking a trip or even just shuttle service and the guy was very rude. Once he heard that we own our own kayaks he was not interested in giving us any more info or answering our questions.
