I took my car in for check engine light diagnostic, they removed and replaced the oxygen sensor. However the check engine light came back on after a day. The second time it was for air fuel ratio sensor.Jenn explained the issue was that both sensors needed to be replaced at the same time and owned up the mistake and replaced the air fuel sensor and cleared the faults at no charge.I highly recommend Hometown Garage they are a honest and reliable Garage.

Hometown Garage is THE place to go for any car repair. They have kept my 2005 cobalt safe and functioning, as well as my newer car. Efficient, reasonable, and outstanding customer service, which is not always the case if you’re a woman dealing with car repair people. The problem I was having with my Honda was clearly related to a tire or axel, because the repetitive rhythmic noise it was making sped up as I went faster and slowed down as I slowed down. Hometowns diagnosis: simply rust on the brakes, due to not driving as much, due to the pandemic. Point being: these guys are great because they are HONEST AND COMPETENT. They only charged me $45 and sent me on my way. The noise will lessen as I drive more. I can live with it. Ill only put new brakes on when these are worn and I need to. Hometown is great and I will use them again and again.

My rear brakes had been making noise for a while; when I brought it in, the mechanic told me that they were pretty much gone. Due to Covid supply chain issues, they didnt have rear brake parts in stock, though, and the repair would take at least a day if not more. Because the brakes were in such bad shape, they said that in good conscience they couldnt release the car back to me until the repairs were done. I told them that my daughter was heading off for college in two days and so whatever could be done would be appreciated. They were able to finagle some things to get the parts and got the repairs done by the end of the day. There were some other repairs that needed to be made that would have kept the car in for longer, but they wanted me to be able to get the car back in time. I really appreciated their consideration for my familys safety as well as our time and our need for the car. I was really happy with how professional they were.

Needed to have my AC recharged after a repair and the dealer was going to charge me way too much, so I remembered I had used Hometown years ago so I gave them a call. They gave me a fair quote, so I dropped the car a couple of days later and picked it up the following day. They kept me informed via text and I paid online. Fair, quick & easy.

This is a great shop! First, Jenn the office manager went above and beyond to help me with my particular scheduling requests. She was extremely quick to respond and very pleasant to work with. The work was done on schedule at a reasonable price, and they did not try to upsell me on extra work, but did inform me of things I should be aware of to keep an eye on. My favorite thing about this shop is they keep you informed by text (if you choose this type of communication) throughout the time they have your car. When it was done, they texted all of the paperwork and details which I was able to review and even pay online. Very streamlined process which I appreciate.

What a fantastic garage! My car needed a lot of work which required an overnight stay that I wasnt prepared for, and I live in Rhode Island. They actually lent me a car to use at no extra cost to me. It was a huge, HUGE help. Their technology on keeping in contact with me was phenomenal, with text messages and notes that broke down everything they were doing and how much it would cost. They were on the ball with staying in touch. Now my 2005 car runs like new.

I called to ask how much they charge for an inspection. The lady on the phone said that they start at $141 and go from there. When I told her that it sounds too much for an inspection since Midas quoted me $100 (Midas ended up charging me $50 for the inspection), she said then this place is clearly not for you then hung up.

I have been going to them for ages. And my mom has too. Herb has always been great and personable and reliable. For a smaller garage they are up to date, trust worthy and dependable. They send text updated they break down everything. They have a great remote system to be safe w covid and they’re happy to help with anything. Highly recommend.

To be honest, I was a little skeptical about this garage and its reviews (since it had so many 5 star ratings). But I was happily surprised to find that their ratings are well deserved. They not only fixed the issues I had asked them to look at, but also fixed several small problems that I did not mention. And all of this for a reasonable price. Very recommended!

The employees also sanitize every car they work on, and let you pay online! I was greeted promptly and with courtesy. I was given the option to wait or return. I sat on the bench and made my business calls. Within an hour,my ML350 was ready and I promptly paid and left. The car was sanitized and I was sent text messages to update what was the progress. Payment link was sent and I paid from my phone. Diagnostics charges are relatively high. Service was extremely good, and technicians were able to keep in touch with automated systems, including text messages of statues. Estimated cost of a part replacement on the vehicle was quoted at double another mechanics price who is only a half mile away.

I have used Hometown Garage for years for several vehicles. They may not be the least expensive around (but have you been to an auto dealership lately?), but they are competent and get the job done right and are being quite careful these days.This was just an (overdue) oil change, but they pointed out several other issues (for which I will eventually schedule service).

Great experience with their ability to diagnose and repair my car. Enjoyed getting regular text updates and very friendly staff. Also I needed to leave car overnight and they provided a loaner which was terrific to help make this process so much easier. Will be coming back!

Super-responsive service: they tell you everything they recommend and dont try to throw on extras. When I brought my 13-y-o CRV in during the pandemic, they noticed Id only driven 1,000 miles in six months, topped off the fluids, popped it up on the lift to check for safety and charged me $37.

These guys are awesome. They gave me a loaner for 24 hours, took a thorough look at my car to prepare it for inspection, helped me pick out some new tires, and did not go above what they quoted. Instead, the stuck to their quote but they gave suggestions for near-term repairs with additional quotes. They also have a nice waiting room with coffee.

On a recent trip to Boston, the alternator on our son’s car stopped working. A friend in the area recommended Hometown and we dropped his car off to be repaired. They are a great dealership. Customer service is A+++. My cars windshield wipers were broken and when I went to Hometown Garage they told me that it wasnt moving because it was loose. It took 2 minutes for them to tighten the bolt for me and fix it. They didnt charge me anything and also cleared off the snow from the top of my car. I definitely recommend!!!

I needed to mount new winter tires and I am very happy that I went to Hometown Garage to do that. In addition to mounting tires they did general check, found that power steering liquid tank was empty, battery reading pretty low and some minor staff. Hometown Garage is so great. They were highly recommended to me by my coworker and his wife. On my way into work, the brakes on my car stopped working. I called them, and they told me to drive it straight there. They brought me to work in their shuttle while they looked it over. They did a complete evaluation, sent me a very detailed report, and talked me through everything. The work needed was extensive. They would’ve made a lot of money on the work, but they told me that if I was considering getting a new car, it might be a good time to do so. They gave me the option, and didn’t pressure me into the work at all. They let me leave the car there until I could look into new cars, and helped the tow truck pick it up to bring to the dealership when the time came. They really impressed me, and were completely professional and standup guys. I would recommend them to anyone!!
