So the prices arent the best but they are on par with smaller shops. Of course they are not going to be as cheap as big box sports stores or large webstores, but the staff was friendly and helpful.

Genuinely friendly, not the phony car salesman crap. Just nice people that appreciated the fact I walked in and gave them a chance. The staff was very knowledgeable and were always available to answer questions and show me different guns. I did buy a firearm from them and the transaction was smooth and the price was fair market value. Honest pricing, friendly staff and a good selection for how small the store is. I will be a repeat customer for sure, and will happily recommend them to others.

I can not say enough about Haw River Gun & Pawn. The owners ( Pat & Brandi) are awesome folks. I have been to this store more times than I want my wife to know. The staff is very friendly. I was introduced to Haw River gun and pawn by a friend of mine. Every time I go there everyone is nice. Everyone is very knowledgeable about their products and very helpful in answering any questions I may have. Their ammunition is well stocked with a variety of manufacturers. Plus... Ive never been anywhere you can go get your camo, rifle, ammo, and the tools to build your tree stand in the same place!! Two thumbs up!!

I have been going to Haw River Gun and Pawn ever since it opened. During that time I have purchased, traded, or sold at least 10 guns. I have always been treated as a valued customer. I have always found them to be friendly and competitively priced. These people go out of their way to help you find what you are looking for.TWO THUMBS UP !!!!

Well stocked, adequate inventory of pistols, rifles and archery...A clean and neat store. Only concern was that the young man who waited on me was not outgoing to my needs. I had to do all or most of the talking and was not offered any different options to purchase... In dealing with the public, being more outgoing and friendly is absolutely necessary...

Although I live in Wake County, I was introduced to Haw River Gun & Pawn by my boyfriend who used to live in that area. I have been in the store about a dozen times in the past year. I find that the staff is always very friendly and helpful. As a woman with weaker upper body strength, finding a gun that wasnt heavy and had a slide that I could operate was somewhat difficult. I really appreciate that the staff patiently helped me find the one best for me. They not only point out the features of the different models, they also point out things that might make it difficult for me to use. Their prices are very competitive and the service is great. When I am ready to purchase my next weapon, I will gladly make the hour drive up to Haw River. :-)

They seem to have just about everything you need in stock ( guns, ammo, reloading supplies, accessories, etc...). If they dont they can order it for you. Prices are fair and people are friendly and helpful. Ive bought several things here and recommend giving them a try.

I loved walking into Hawriver Gun & Pawn. They are always so friendly and always make me feel welcome. I was very new to purchasing a hand gun and they took the time to answer all my questions and I left the store much more confident. Then a few months later we had a tragedy hit our family. I had to take my hand gun back into the store to be pawned. The owner was very sympathetic and gave me top dollar for the pawn. He helped us out more than he will ever know. I recommend this place to everyone. Give them a try. You wont be disappointed!

I have purchased two guns from here. I had a problem with one and they had it repaired for me to make sure it was functioning properly. If you are interested in something they will work with you to help you get it. I have not had any problems getting help when I go there.

I wish that there was a negative star because thats exactly what this place would get. I laid away an AR from here. I thought I was going to have to let it go back. Things came up and life happens. My wife was going to surprise me for fathers day by paying what was owed on it without me knowing. The person she talked to on the phone (I think was the owners father)was VERY rude to her and talked to her as if we were some kind of low life. All because somethings came up and she was just trying to do something nice for me. When I went to pick the gun up I was treated the same. I would say not even 2 words was said to me. As soon as I left I took the gun straight to another gun shop a sold it just because I didnt want to own a gun that was purchased from haw river gun and pawn. I wouldnt suggest purchasing anything from here.

As soon as i walked in I was greeted with a friendly hello and was told that as soon as theyre done with their current customer that they would help me. I was looking to get a .270 cal hunting rifle and had some questions about them. They answered all of my questions and Gave me a good value on the pistols i was trading in towards it. All in all a great experience with this store!

Made my first purchase at Haw River gun & pawn today. I was very pleased with the customer service. They are personable and the prices are more than competitive. I will certainly be a repeat customer.

Friendly staff and the store has agood selection of guns.Prices on the tags for handguns seemed generally high.Im sure they are negotiable, but the starting price for one I was mildly interested in was high enough that I didnt engage in a negotiation on it. YMMV.

I have rarely experienced a more personable experience than in working with the owner Pat Davis on several transactions. He treated me both professionally and very fairly, both qualities which I admire and which are becoming increasingly rare in these days and times. It is almost a 45 minute drive from my home and I have to pass at least one major competitor to get to Pats but should I need to do so, I would not hesitate to go there again in the future. No one really likes having to pawn or sell their stuff and I am no different. However with Pat, everything was both clear, and very fair. In no way did he try to take advantage of me due to my circumstances and for that I am greatly appreciative.I would not hesitate to sell to him again if necessary, or for that matter to buy. He does things the right way and thats all that anyone can ever ask.

Very displeased with the customer service. I went in to buy a couple of firearms and maybe some ammo. They were very slow (not busy). The guys behind the counter felt it was more important to talk about local events and the weather with another patron, than it was to even ask me if I needed anything. i was in the store for about 20 minutes and wasnt verbally acknowledged. Their inventory was lacking more than their attitudes were. Dont plan on another wasted trip there again.

Friendly, but offer to buy was $50 less than Liberty in Hillsboro and Mace in Mebane. Ended up elsewhere.

They will not honor their web site pricing you get some BS about web only purchases.Try to push old overpriced stuff in case. They suck. Go someplace else. Dont waste your gas or tome.

Let me tell you my experience at the store today I bought a AR stripped lower and have it shipped to them and went to go pick it up today I brought a handgun permit that I picked up from the Alamance Sheriffs Department less than a month ago to use to pick up the receiver so I wouldnt have to wait for them to call and run nics background check here in North Carolina if you have a concealed carry permit or a handgun permit you can skip calling nics because the sheriffs already done a thorough background check on you and make sure that you are not a criminal or have any mental history that would keep you from buying or owning a farm .now back to my experience after a few facts presented drivers license and permit fill out the paperwork then they tell me that they could not use the permit to pick it up they would still have to call and run the background check and I asked him why because I have done it in the past used gun permits to pick up or buy long rifles reason they dont accept for handgun permit for that because later down the road I may have been denied if they call and checked so I set there let them run nics background check waiting around 30 minutes it comeback proceed which means I passed the nics background so while we finished up I asked him a question so right now if I wanted to buy a pistol I could use the permit for me to pick up buy and you will not accept for for a long gunthe said yes. that right there makes no common sense to me whatsoever any other gun dealer or FFL would have done it with no problem I think the person was pushing his personal political views just because it was a AR stripped lower. then let me just say one thing they are they was polite and nice about the whole thing and so was I .after saying that I will take my business elsewhere and have my transfer sent elsewhere.reply to the owner .it was not that I prefer to skip the nics system it was just quicker to use the permit which I have done in the past to pick up a lower at your store no problem . and it was a him not a her .you have the right to have run nics background check on anybody.and I have a write to go to a FFL that has common sense and knows the laws and as for my behavior in your store it was always polite and nice and never confrontational.and as for your response I find it a little arrogant

I never take the time to write reviews but I am so disappointed with my experience that I had to do something to vent. I recently had a deer processed by Haw River outdoors and when I picked it up it was all wrong and all he could say was I am sorry about that.I should have paid attention to the warnings from friends to use someone else but I gave them a shot because they were close and I am paying for it now.Thanks for nothing Haw River Outdoors!

They sold me what I was told was an Anderson Oiless AR-15 on Friday 7/1/16, at what I thought was a great price. After registering it with Anderson on Sunday for the warranty, I downloaded the owners manual. I had plans to go target practice with some friends on the 4th. I wanted be sure I was taking proper care of the rifle properly. According to the manual, it was not the oiless version. I contacted Anderson customer service and they confirmed that the model I had was not the oiless version of their rifle. Now the store is closed for the whole week, which is not published on their website btw.Update: The owner did contact me and gave me a full refund.
