Relatively new to the area so this place is a gem. Breads are outstanding. The cheddar, garlic, jalapeño buns and bread make sandwiches a gourmet meal. The Popeye bread with spinach is tasty and a wonderful way to get a vegetable!The Dakota bread with pumpkin seeds is more dense and makes a healthy mid afternoon snack. Plus the sweet breads including cinnamon rolls ready to bake at home. Family owned and big contributors to local food banks. Doesn’t get any better.

Most bestest interaction I have had in years. She was able to describe the loaf differences (like she bakes them!) Without a second pause. We were so impressed and will be back again. She provided recommendations on how to make the sourdough bread last longer. She did excellent I just wish we knew her name so we could give her direct kudos. All I have is this receipt

Absolutely delicious baked goods, and unique to boot! The berry scones I bought, I warmed in my toaster oven for 5 minutes and they are the best scones I’ve ever had. Lovely woman at the farmers market today.

I have been there 3 different times recently because I generally liked the bread from other locations. Each time the counter person was very short with me. I asked was my loaf baked that day and he went to the back to ask. He said it was baked yesterday. Yesterday was a day they were not open. He goes back and and returns shrugging his shoulders. I checked online and the bread was scheduled for fresh baked on Friday. He didnt have to lie about it. My wife immediately noticed it was not fresh. Too much trouble to bring it back. Probably go to somewhere else as its too expensive to be receiving old bread

Really tasty bagged goods but just too expensive. I think it was $11.25 for a loaf of cinnamon bread and same price for a loaf of pumpkin. So I went $23 on 2 loafs of bread. Great Harvest in MN has the same loaves for about $7 each. Sure theres a cost of living difference, but not by that much.

Fantastic food. The sandwiches were delicious, especially the turkey chipotle on cheddar garlic bread. The salted caramel cookies were amazing. I plan to come back frequently!

Im not sure about this location. I normally go to the Swiss bakery for breakfast pastries, but I wanted to try something new. Prices felt pretty high, and the person who checked me out seemed to have better things to do than interact with me.

Great Harvest is the best place to get delicious baked goods! The staff are very friendly and the samples they offer are yummy too. Bread is delicious, but some of the male staff working here don’t seem to go out of their way to care for customers. Bought a few loaves for work and asked for a receipt. Male at the counter looked at the screen and curtly informed me the receipt was emailed to me then just walked away. Halfway to work I realized that I NEVER provided my email address at any point. Searched my email to confirm. Why couldn’t the kid just print the receipt out? Ask about slicing a loaf or 2? Maybe I’ll buy my $12 bread somewhere else with this kind of customer care.

Counter person rude and unhelpful. Did a terrible job slicing the loaf of bread I purchased. The loaf was somehow sliced at an angle. Will go to the Alexandria store from now on. Further to drive but 100% better service!

Fresh food served relatively quickly made with delicious, whole ingredients. This particular location has a good team. Ive see people come from the kitchen to help if theres a line. The almond butter and jelly sandwich on wheat is delicious. Even my 5-year-old loved it!

From when you open the doors, you are engulfed with so many delicious smells and friendly faces! They truly tailor to any and all tastes. Their Pumpkin Chocolate Loaf has been the office favorite, but we have expanded our taste buds with their hearty breakfast sandwiches. From the sweet and salty cravings, they are bread maestros! We highly recommend stopping by and get a taste for something magical.

This is unquestionably one of the coolest place to eat in the area. Whenever I come there I am very pleased. They hold their very high standard service and the highest level of cooking they provide. You always win with this place. Warmly recommended.

Love their bread although it’s a bit overpriced but I went in and no one was wearing a mask. It’s difficult to give above a one star if a business isn’t following safety protocols these days.

I get to eat here a lot since I work close by. I have to say their service is always good and they keep the spot neat regularly. Rates are affordable and they serve big portions.

Always happy with anything I get here. The staff is great and incredibly knowledgeable on all of their breads. I went in today to get a King Cake and it was delicious, but I couldnt leave without getting a pumpkin chocolate chip loaf (my favorite).

The bread here is amazing, we actually get it from the farmers market but ventured out to the store this time. The staff here are so sweet and helpful. I was asked by all staff if I needed help and they offered many samples (which I ended up purchasing). To make it even better, they were playing music and singly along. The guy in the back was singing while baking, and the girls were smiling and singing. It was such a happy place and it ws evident they enjoyed what they were doing. Definitely coming back, this time with my debit card!!! Thank you for the great experience.

Baking bread and life for that matter cant be rushed. I waited one day for fresh bread to come out of the oven and it was the best wait of my life. A little patience and love for local business will warm your heart for the holidays. Also, give the whole grain breads a try. They are rich and flavorful.

Can be pricey, but is worth it. High quality breads with a slightly different selection every time you go. They also are great supporters of community organizations and are a good neighbor!

Great food, but the service was mediocre and staff only wears face masks while serving customers, everyone in the open-air kitchen was unmasked.

Wonderful store. The clerks are generally very nice and willing to make your order just as you want it. The MTO food is great (try the Southwest Chipotle Chicken) and reasonably healthy. Packaged food is pretty decent, but priced pretty high. Kids love the scones (Red, White, and Blue is a favorite for mine). They also always have a sample of something available to try.As others mentioned, theres no place to sit, which is a challenge. The sandwiches are fairly big and not really car food. Thats really the only thing that keeps it from getting a 5-star review, IMO.

The best bread in the area. Special bread-of-the-day selections for something different every day. The cheddar garlic and extreme cinnamon are my personal favorites. Great sandwiches, cookies, and dog snacks too!

I came in took a look at the menu and ordered a turkey and cheese and avocado sandwich, while the man behind the counter was making it I noticed that he put a ridiculous amount of melted cheese in the sandwich, then he took out a nasty bag of guacamole looking avocado pre squashed and smeared a very thick amount into the bread put the turkey the onion the lettuce and tomato and rolled it up in paper handed it to me. When I got home took a bite it tasted like rubbish. Worst sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I decided to go back and try and get my money back or a new sandwich made and I come to find out how rude the person on duty was. She said she is not the manager and there was no manager in the place and that she was sorry she could not return the money back and that she herself wouldn’t eat a sandwich like that. Amazing how poor quality the staff is in there and how there is no supervisor and or manager watching these young adults properly serving food.

Really wonderful service here along with hearty sandwiches. There is a basket with home made pet biscuits to the left of the register. Check it out!

Great food and bread. No place to eat if you get food. Be prepared to get it to go. Asked for substitutions and no tomatoes, received it as it was listed on the menu.

Very poor and rude service. I used to come here alot but the quality is much lower and staff have change. Just a lot of rude people now. I was asking one lady about the bread and how they mill it everyday. She accidentally told me they only mill the wheat for only one of the breads called Dokota! (then someone said No No dont tell her that) So most of the bread is actually just white flour or wheat flour they buy already ground. Really took the magic away for me. Maybe they just changed it to that way now? Anyways, worse than it was a long time ago. must be new owners have poor management. Also the egg is a gross precooked chemical paty they leave in fridge for weeks. No longer fresh food. No longer all natural and whole wheat!

I moved to Texas recently. No Apple Scrapple. Im in withdrawal. Im coming to Va for the weekend and have 3 loaves on order. Real apples in this bread. A hint of sweetness, but not too much. I drove 2 days to Texas with Apple Scrapple by my side. The Asagio Pesto bread is amazing too.
