Incredible place with an amazing collection of miniatures, comic and card. This place houses a great gaming/collecting community with weekly events. The team are very friendly and helpful, always up for a conversation about stuff we love.
Nice fun people, magic cards are bit more expensive than they would be online but its worth it for the chance to hold and inspect them before you buy them. Just attended my first in-person pre-release event here and had alot of fun!
Great hobby shop with tons of cool stuff! Really cool and helpful staff too
It was my first time visiting this store. I was looking for a My Little Pony comic for my daughter. The two employees working were exceptionally friendly and sent texts and scoured the store until they found the comic. I was really impressed by their good attitudes and helpfulness. They really were great!
I am such a big fan of board games and this store always seems to have a huge selection in stock to choose from. Whenever I have a question about a particular game, 9/10 they will have a pretty solid answer. The other times they just tell me to check the game out upstairs in their gaming area! Ive had some fun discussions with fellow gamers about board games. I definitely recommend emerald knights!
Great comics and gaming store. Nice staff.
There comic selection has now been regulated to a small corner as this place feels more like a gaming store with some comics.
Owner is a real greedy ahole - hoarding prize packs and letting players be taken advantage of, the gift card system is a scam, their singles are overpriced, upstairs play space cramped, a/c terrible or never on, a ban on fowl language, etc. Even before they started charging money to sit down and play it was a pretty terrible store. Now its a joke
Wonderful store, very knowledgeable and well stocked! Has many board games available as well as comics.
Very friendly staff and good prices on products
Lots of miniatures available and board games galore. They have some comics and a small backstock section that I enjoyed looking through. Magic singles and sealed as well were available with a small amount of pokemon to compliment. Overall very spacious and very welcoming atmosphere from the employees. Main takeaway is the miniatures available and the books for pathfinder and d&d. Was enjoyable looking through it and will come again.
Too masky 😷 not chill, unlike Core TCG.
Great place for gamers. They carry just enough comics to say they are a comic store.
Great place for Magic 😊
Great store. Lots of stock. Clean and organized. Helpful staff.
Great supply of games, dice, and mini figures. Lots of comics. A knowledgeable and nice staff. I think they have gaming nights.
Use to be the best place to be at, covid hit but luckily the people here are still opened to help you with your tcg and other things to help pass the time. With everything being in high demand lately of pokemon Im at least happy that they can source stuff if possible
Great friendly neighborhood game store. Family-friendly, and warm and welcoming to a diverse clientele. They have ample space for playing games, a worthwhile membership club, and host fun events!
Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. If you have gaming needs, This is the place to have them fulfilled. Also comics
Great place with a really fun and helpful staff. Lots of different events for MTG but standard is only on Monday and drafts running almost all day Friday. It has 2 floors but you dont need to go to the second level unless theres a game, but those can also happen downstairs. Unsure if there is an elevator to the second floor for accessibly. The only negative thing I could think of is that the place has a really weird chemical smell.
The staff was incredibly helpful and even went in depth to explain basic deck building to my newly hooked MtG friend. Lots of games and things to check out. Lots of comics and cards, and pretty much everything you would want.
Didnt have exactly what I was looking for but was happy to recommend another store that might have this particular comic. Spacious place with a lot of room for its large offerings of comics, board games, card games, and RPGs. Also a massive wall of miniatures. Numerous tables and seating g options for patrons to set up their own games. Even on a Thursday early afternoon there were people playing. Wish I lived closer.
The best gaming & comic book shop in Los Angeles. Support your local shop!I have been coming here for over 10 years and it just keeps getting bigger & their stock growing. Owners Jay and Jason have created a store that is more a community-- offering up events (movie screenings, game nights, miniature painting classes), recommendations, and a personal touch that you cant find in most LA stories regardless of the theme or hobby. Drop in and just ask questions about what you are looking for & you will be sure to find exactly what you need (or you can order it). Their membership is also a great deal. Danielle is awesome & super knowledgeable about the best in comics so you can get some great recommendations from her if you are looking for a place to start or new books to pick up.
Friendly and well-stocked
I was impressed! This was a well put together store. They dont have much for board games, but they totally make up in the comic and models collection. Upstairs they have a open board game play area with a modest collection in the library. With only a $5 entry to get up there and play as long as youd like I thought it was pretty cool.I went there for a regionals event and the staff were excellent. One of the better put together events. Thank you and keep up the good work!
The store had a really diverse and well-curated collection of board games, miniatures, comics, dice and more. What really shined though was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. They were patient and very clear, answering questions I didnt know I had. I signed up for their newsletter and plan on returning.
Emerald Knights has an awesome staff who are very helpful and knowledgeable. They have an awesome Bones mini wall that Id arranged by humber for easy use, and they run events all the time. Its a great shop.
I played my first D&D session here yesterday and I had a lot of fun. The DM was really enthusiastic and so were the players. I had no previous experience in D&D and Im considerably younger than some of the other players so I was worried about ruining the game. Everyone in my party had played a lot in the past. They helped me and I really enjoyed myself. I would recommend Emerald Knights to everyone, regardless of skill level. Im new to comic book stores as well so I was very glad the staff was friendly. Emerald Knights is very clean and amongst the bigger comic book stores Ive been to. I like the second floor type area and I think its a very good idea. I look forward to coming back next Wednesday.
Good spot for tabletop gaming of all sorts. Im not much for comics, so I shouldnt comment on that particular aspect of the store - so my review is mostly geared forward the tabletop side of things.Pros:Plenty of open gaming tablesTerrain boxes & covers to make your table look decentDecent selection of paints and miniaturesCons:The location has a sort of musky old and wet paper smell to it. I honestly got used to it a couple of minutes in - but I can honestly see how it leaves a bad impression on an initial visit.
It has a huge array of miniatures, games, and comics. Definitely returning
Great board game shop! The staff is really friendly and they have events all the time. Really convenient for people in the Burbank area with a good amount of street parking. Definitely recommend checking it out.
I absolutely love this place for the obscenely large selection of minis they have on the back wall. Its so huge that you take a piece of paper and jot the serial numbers of the minis you want and the employees pick them up for you. The comic book area is nicely organized and prices are super fair. Whenever Im in the area I try to stop by just so I can get more minis.
Great for your gaming and comic needs. Even has a small used section, rentable game tables. You could get lessons in mini painting.
This is a great place for comics, games, tcg, and for gaming needs like D&D. I needed Goblins and found them. The place could use more lighting. Maybe some added decoration to allow the customer time to enjoy the place. Overall, great place for gaming needs. Thanks for the assistance from the staff.
Came here to participate in a Keyforge tournament. The staff was extremely welcoming as were the patrons. The place had a very laid back, welcoming vibe. I immediately felt comfortable and welcomed here which is not the case at my own local game store. So I really appreciate them making this store so enjoyable. I look forward to coming back.
About 5 years ago when I first got back into comics i thought this place was great. Since then not sure if the employees have turned over or what but its really not as much fun of a store to go to as other near by stores. Also never really understood why they up price all back issues regardless if the issue is key or not. Went there today and unlike other near by stores no greeting or anything. Yet when i have my service dog they are sure unkind and call him a pet without asking about his working status like they are supposed to. Bu the way no service dog today as he was being groomed. It is the only comic book store in the area that tries to have a problem with service dogs or dogs at all. I went today to see if things were better (they werent) and I was waiting for my service dog to finish his grooming
Fun place. Im so happy to be back to play games at a table. Clean and I feel comfortable shopping here. Helpful and friendly staff.
Great place, good atmosphere. Love the upstairs game space. Staff are super helpful.
Ive been going here for at least five years. The employees are always helpful and friendly. The store is clean and air conditioned.
Emerald Knights has a good space in a great area. The layout facilitates the various crowds they hope to bring in: tabletop gaming enthusiasts, wargamers, comic hunters, and those looking for an odd collectible. Decor and flair are spot on, showing time and attention to detail. Various attached rooms are themed and vibrant. The restroom is in good shape each visit. The staff is always welcoming and happy to assist when asked. The space for gaming is great, with tables on the main and second story. Tables are available for wargaming as well, although occasionally that space is used for display purposes.Stock wise there is a wide variety, many smaller pieces catering to the modern role-playing gamer, collectible games such as Star Wars X-Wing/Legion, models and figurines for tabletop and collecting purposes, and comics/pops/posters.There is a program to gain a discount on products in the store, which seems tough unless youre a frequent customer. Prices on many products are market rate or on the higher side. Supporting the friendly local game store is very important, however, the price difference on many of the offerings versus online or other stores can be substantially higher here. All in all, many items can be found here they are unavailable online or in other stores, some unique items are available that have been used in popular digital streaming outlets such as Critical Role. A positive experience is had, but not always the kindest on ones wallet.
Staff is cool, they know their stuff. Best place for minatures. Good selection of board games
Very clean, spacious friendly staff. Great place for minis/Warhammer in particular. They have a good number of game tables and regular events.
Cool shop its big.... definitely a place for D&D fans. Love Danielle always helps when I have questions or looking for a certain comics. Advice: If you see a specific comic that might be hot call ahead. They do have older comics as well depends on the title of course. Magic cards toys posters coloring books pins is just some of the things they carry. Worth a look
Huge variety of games! Excellent customer service and prices! Friendly patronage willing to share a game with strangers. Snacks and drinks available for marathon games. D&D and MTG on Wednesday nights.
I was turned onto this place by my brother, and once you go Emerald, you never go back! The staff here is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Theyre always ready to help, and when I was a newbie at model painting and D&D, they didnt make me feel bad about it at all, encouraging me to pursue my passion and showing me how.Wednesday nights are my favorite nights because thats when Dungeons & Dragons is played! Its Adventurers League, and the DMs really know their stuff. You can come in knowing absolutely nothing at all, and by the end of the evening, you have a solid foundation to build on. Ive been hooked on D&D for nearly a year now because of them. The Saturday miniature painting classes are also a real bargain and are hosted by one of the owners, who is a master at his craft. Check them out for only $10!
This place has the best staff. Its a clean and friendly environment that can be on the quiet side from time to time. They encourage friendly game play and allow groups to meet there regularly. check out their expansive comic selection and choices of miniatures to paint!
Folks who work here have been kind and genuine to us each time weve gone in. Emerald Knights is a great place to pick up a fun nerdy game. Theyve got a lot to choose from!
You know if you want to keep customers dont judge someone immediately. I know Im not the typical stereotype of a comic book enthusiast but I am. I dont need to be followed around the store and have the employees grill their eyes at me. All I wanted to buy was a couple spawn issues but instead I got that look like oh watch him make sure he doesnt steal anything. Will never go to this place and recommended to all my friends to never go there.
They are wonderful to deal with. I also like that they are helpful in dealing with my 10 year olds questions as well. They clearly care about both us older geeks as well as the new young people. Great way to run a store. Keep it family friendly and serve the needs of the clients. Well done!
I come here with my boyfriend at least every other Friday & it is ALWAYS super awesome!!! Staff is AWESOME & friendly, as well as all the other people who frequent the store. Have made a lot of friends here & have also introduced many who I did not meet here to this establishment because its a welcoming place for new or old card/game players. I will definitely be coming back when they are open again next Friday 😆
The folks there are nice and knowledgeable.
This place rocks!!
Helpful and friendly staff, great gaming community. Had a few nice chats with random customers while browsing. Best collection of miniatures in the city, though many were currently put of stock on my latest visit. While DnD rulebooks are full retail price (double the amazon price) they still have some great deals on many pf their items, and I highly recommend supporting this local and friendly shop over buying online.
I used to meet some friends here for a game a few months back, but we started going to Pasadena instead, even though this place is within walking distance to my house. The place is clean and the atmosphere is nice, but the staff is really uptight about language, and Im not someone who generally uses a lot of foul language.I understand a business not wanting people to use vulgar language, but when I go to a store, I dont expect it to be run like a church either. The clerk said something to one of my friends for using the word d@mn. That was a bit much.
The staff was super nice and helpful here. I was looking for some D&D stuff for my kid and they went out of their way to help. They have a huge selection of miniatures and host some classes as well.
Great gaming store. Very far from home for me but I still visit when I can because it is a good place to play in drafts for Magic the Gathering. Plenty of other gaming products and services too.
Plenty of place space for games and a great selection of them. The staff saw us playing a game and gave us a promo card for the game we were playing! Definitely recommend if youre looking for a friendly local game store.
Loved that they close somewhat later. Good options and decent customer service. :)
The only Gaming Store in Burbank. Great place to go for all your nerdly needs!
My local game store thats got their own wonderful play area on the second floor! Emerald knights is a Burbank staple and hosts friday night magic, warhammer, and even D&D parties! There are events to cater to the younger and the older crowd and everyone is always super helpful. Im proud to call this place my local game store.
Has a bunch of stuff and the prices are reasonable. Theres a large 2nd floor too where you can get all your gaming and trading done! Friendly owner and patrons.
Good friendly atmosphere. Everyone is helpful and the staff and regular costumers and gamers are very sportsmen like.
Awesome game and comic store. This is definitely my go to. Friendly staff and super helpful with anything you need. They do have board game nights Wed and Thur.
Usually some play of games to enjoy watching. Not sure if they still do Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments. But great place to check out the comic books.
D & D for all levels, free to play. Great place to make new friends and gaming hobbies and supplies! Conveniently located across the street from Burbank Music Academy and Champs Sports Bar and food joint :)
Amazing shop. great owner. family-friendly. Good place to test out and play all sorts of games. A true burbank institution!
Great place to find boardgames. Very nice people at the counter. Excellent events. I come here often.
Super friendly staff/owners and dont roll their eyes to noobs and beginners, which is rare. Great selection. Super comfortable environment and great place to rent a table with friends.
Great place to hang out and play board and card games. Has a strong D&D, MTG and Warhammer community. The staff is very friendly and the environment is family friendly.
Super friendly staff. Best nerd shop around.
Great place for comics, board games and miniatures. They have a loyalty program that pays for itself after a few months, if your an avid collector or gamer.
A great comic-book, board game, and card game store. Come here to nerd out.
Great friendly and extremely helpful staff. Ive been coming back for about 4 years. The owner and staff are about promoting the gaming community more than making a sale. Come to board game nights Wednesday and Thursday at 6 pm to see what I mean.
This is, by far, the cleanest and most organized comic book/game store Ive ever been to. Every time Im in the area I stop by and am never disappointed by their selection or staff.
Great selection of gaming and comic goofiness! Plenty of open space to play your favourite card game (pickups and organized matches abound). Theyve also got a great membership program thatll save you 10% on all purchases and also give you discounts on match registrations for MTG and other organized events.
Nice looking game store. They have a good stock of games plus comics too.
Working in Burbank I love having this store as a lunch break destination. very friendly staff, they always have new issues and a wide selection of back issues. have ordered plenty of pre release statues here and have never had an issue. keep up the great work ek!
Great local game shop with a variety of themed nights with tutorials
Great selection and helpful staff.
Good prices, great selection and service
Its a good game store. The tables upstairs are great to have. I just wished it had a little more room, but nothing can be perfect.
Good Store good selection of new and back issues but if youre into gaming this is your place. Plus 25% off on members for comics. Check it out.
The place was so cool! I definitely reccomend coming here
Friendly and approachable staff. Huge selection and plenty of room to move. Some hobby shops feel so oppressively packed in, but EK never feels claustrophobic.EK doesnt just look to sell stuff. They have frequent events to really make a community. Family friendly, and great whether you are shopping for yourself or for a collector.
The staff is super friendly and their collection is great!
Great place to shop for any tabletop games and comic books. One of my favorite places to pick up Warhammer 40k kits.
A good ole fashioned style comic book store. Well stocked, nice and quiet.
Great place, some dude was a little rude on free comic book day and made me feel like a theif for going upstairs with a bag. So I bought a membership out of anger. Got me good. Good places for games comics are a little pricey. But its in burbank so makes sense.
Best place in burbank for tabletop games!
Best game shop in Burbank and there only getting better there growing and expanding thank god it gets pretty crowded sometimes great place to make friends variety of games and comics and geeky people just like you
Great staff, amazing selection of comic and game books. Great table top areas and a new used game section.
Nice staff, cool atmosphere!
Great service. Cool people. Great place.
Cool place for game nerds, especially Magic. Board game selection is nice but not extensive - theyre often missing even popular titles and I end up ordering through the big A.
This store is remarkably friendly, organized, and best of all, clean! When my group of friends wanted to bring our game event to E.K., the owners helped get us on the regular calendar. They work hard to get Dragon Dice products available and are quite flexible with our ever-changing schedule. Never encountered any card-snobbery or clique behavior: quite the opposite! The Magic card players are diverse and friendly; they often walk over to us to learn a new game. Above all, I am thrilled they have such a clean and organized space (especially the restrooms!) which makes it easier to invite non-gaming friends. They always enjoy the experience of Emerald Knights because it outdoes their expectations of what a Geek Store should be like.
This place was awesome, so many minis.
