Neal and Glenn were wonderful.Took my 2014 Jetta into them after Century Glendale Volkswagen had my car on the machine saying no problems showing up,but after they take it fir a test drive,I need a new transmission!I dropped off to AAMCO in the morning and picked it up by end of day.Transmission was fine!!! Nothing wrong with it.The codes the car was throwing which the dealership did not mention were for mis firing..So my Jetta needed new spark plugs and coils,not a transmission.These guys are 100% honest and do a great job.

So went in for my transmission of course. They Let me know my car had other problems. They have helpful financing if you need it fixed ASAP but don’t recommend for the super high interest rate. They Rebuilt the transmission and it’s running great but now gotta fix the other problems on my damn car. Bit Pricey but quality work.

Had a battery short out and suddenly had transmission issues when it was fixed. Glenn listened to me fully explain what happened, diagnosed the issue as likely computer related, reset my computer, and my car was running fine within 15 minutes. They provided the diagnostics for free and even offered to double check my warranty with the dealership if I did end up having a real problem.If I ever do have any trouble with my transmission I’ll definitely be heading back here. I have to say these guys are awesome!!, this post is pretty late, but I had a transmission put in back in August of 2019 and they were so kind, considerate, and caring, Im from Sacramento and was in Burbank visiting my brother, I had no transportation and these guys called a lyft for me, like really what kind of business does that? Not many, but they did 😊 I had my 4yr old son with me also.. i was very grateful and appreciative for that. Service was great in the beginning to assure you that your vehicle will be taken care of at a reasonable price. At the end you receive a huge repair bill with no discription of what was done. So quick to get payed. Felt swindled.

I would recommend this particular AAMCO to anyone for auto service (not just for transmissions). Honest, honest, honest repair shop. Gave me a detailed rundown of the repairs needed and price is more than fair— they saved me a lot of money compared to others.

I took my vehicle into several places and they could not figure out what was wrong. I brought it here and they not only figured it out but fixed it within five minutes. They clearly know what they are doing and were genuinely super nice and knowledgeable. Would definitely come back here in a heartbeat. Neill is awesome!

I was having hard-shifting, slipping and blinking D4 problems with my transmission. I asked Glen to help me change a solenoid because I read that some people had success by doing this. Glen assured me that it definitely was not a solenoid problem and that my only option was to rebuild the transmission and spend thousands of dollars. He actually flat-out refused to swap the solenoid. I ended up buying a used shift solenoid for $40 and had a mechanic swap it for me and my problems have disappeared. Watch out for these guys, don’t get swindled...your problem might be a simple fix like mine was.

My manual transmission started losing gears. 5th. gear jammed, then 3rd. gear jammed, 1st. gear kept popping out...terrified of the cost associated with transmission repairs I began looking around and discovered AAMCO of Burbank. The very friendly and knowledgeable team there did not make me promises beforehand, they checked my transmission and found it was a relatively minor problem, which they repaired in a couple of hours. My bill, was only $256.00 when I was expecting $1,500.00 or more...Whew!!! I thank my lucky stars I stumbled on this team of professionals who treated me fairly, they are definitely number #1 in my book.

Neil at AAMCO was super helpful when my car died. Luckily I was only a few miles from the shop and my insurance covered the tow. AAMCO will inspect your vehicle for free. Unfortunately, Neil had to deliver the bad news that my transmission was out. (Mind you, I had to replace the transmission right after I bought it 12 years ago and I was just fixing the car up to sell and had no idea there was a leak in the transmission, so this was not great news.) He seemed very genuine when explaining my options, he did not make me feel rushed to make a decision and when I shared my options with my dad, brother and husband they said it sounded accurate and fair. Its clear that customer service is important to Neil and his team. Everyone I interacted with was very friendly and he also paid for an Uber to take me home which was unexpected but very much appreciated. I would definitely come back to this AAMCO location in the future and recommend them to friends.

I called two AAMCO shops trying to take care of a problem that needed to be taken care of urgently that day. Neill Evans at the Burbank shop called me back promptly, and arranged for me to be taken care of right away, while I didnt hear from the other shop until the end of the day. In spite of what would normally have been an expensive repair, they found an inexpensive work-around that saved me a lot of money, and moreover, their diagnosis was different than two others I had had - and of course, they were right! I had a caring and very good experience with AAMCO Burbank, and would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone with a else with a transmission problem. The service was quick and the price fair.

All of the people working here are great! Ive tried other places but will never go anywhere else now that I have found them. They treat me fairly and honestly. I dont feel like Im being talked down to or convinced I need something I dont. They work quickly and cleanly and they have a great location. I love that they are called a total care facility because thats exactly how it feels... they totally care!

I started taking my car into Glenn and his team about a year ago...I have gone nowhere else since! My last trip in was for an a/c that was blowing intermittent hot and cold. It was frustrating! Once I got it in...his mechanic, I wish I knew his name, tracked the electrical system to find the bad connection...a couple of hours later, it was all fixed up. And, I cant complain about the price either. They have been great all the way around! Anyone who lives in a LA knows it is important to have a good shop you can count on...and I am so happy to have the peace of mind knowing Glenn and his team are going to help keep me on the road.

The last time I brought my old Jeep in for repair, they just took care of it for me (since I had just had work done there a couple of months prior) and took care of the little thing that they discovered that was wrong and actually didnt even charge me for it! Glenn is a very personable fellow. The business at this location contrasts immensely from the staff and operations over at the Glendale location. The Glendale folks wanted to charge me just to CHECK my fluid levels (sans a fluid change). Glenn and his on-site team checked AND topped off my fluids as a temporary fixer. Instead of the jargon, they very honestly diagnosed where my transmission leak was coming from. When I get the dough to repair the seals I will definitely be coming back here.

I just picked up my Jeep Compass and it’s running perfect. Eric was the guy who rebuild my transmission and he gave me a couple discounts so I saved a little bit of money. I’m convinced I get ripped off every time I go to any sort of auto shop, but I guess $1900 for a rebuilt transmission isn’t bad. I will give an update if anything goes wrong but as of now my Jeep runs perfect! Plus I’m kind of a pain in the ass to deal with (trust no one) and they were pretty good about it :-)

Took my car in for a repair in my transmission. Didnt take long for them to call me and tell me that my car was ready for pick up. Only problem was after driving home my car drove worse than it was from when my tranmission was apparently repaired. The problem is still there now only worse. They are friendly people just not sure about the work done. I was told they were going to make other repairs that dont look like they were even touched. Im sorry to say Im very dissatisfied.

I had just purchased a car and was on my way from LA to AZ, when within minutes a coolant line broke. It was after hours and every shop in the area was closed, but Glenn at AAMCO still answered the phone! He told me to drop off the car and they would look at it first thing in the morning. They fixed the problem within hours and had me back on my trip. A couple days later Glenn checked in to make sure I made the trip ok. Very good customer service guys!

I have a Dodge that had a mysterious shifting problem that no one seemed to be able to figure out. I even went to the Dodge dealer where they kept my truck a week and charged me to tell me they thought if I replaced the transmission it would fix it. $4800!! I had a friend who had been referred to AAMCO in Burbank who said they were really good. I had to make an appointment but when I got there Ashley greeted me and then I met Erik the manager. They had the truck 5 hours and called and told me I had an intermittent short in my brake light switch, and that was the problem. $146.00 parts and labor. I got my truck back the next day and it works great. Theses guys could have sold me a transmission but they really diagnosed my problem and sold me what I needed. I would highly recommend AAMCO in Burbank.

Good job, professional, but over priced

I have a 2014 Toyota Camry that occasionally felt like it was running over railroad ties. I took it to Toyota and had to wait 3 hours for a tech to ride with me. He didn’t find anything wrong. I checked with my third party extended warranty and they suggested I take it to Amco. Burbank was the closet location. I left it over night. Glen called an Uber for me to take me home. Glen called me the next morning. He told me they found the problem and they could fix it. However, he checked with Toyota and they had a service bulletin on the problem and Toyota will fix the problem up to 150,000 miles free of charge. Rather than Amco fixing the problem, Glen suggested I takeit back to Toyota. When they learned that Amco of Burbank diagnosed the problem and the owner Neilwrote a note, they looked into it further and replacedthe faulty torque converter. Amco could have fixed the problem and I would have been out of pocket $1,000 and not have been the wiser. But because of their honesty and integrity my out of pocket expenses was zero! I highly recommend Amco of Burbank and I’m very pleased with their customer service, honesty and integrity!Tom MooreBurbank

Had to get my transmission repaired elsewhere... Tried to sell me on work not needed.

I took my VW in for a second opinion after the dealer checked it. I was so glad I did. The dealer tried to sell me a whole new transmission at $6000 plus additional things if they say there needed with a possible price of $7000!! I called Aamco here in Burbank. They told me to bring it in and waived the diagnostic fee. It turns out my transmission only needed a new valve body and a regular transmission service and it was only $1700!! They have my business for life and I will recommend them to you and all my friends and family. The best part is I did not tell them what the dealer estimated so they where very honest and fair. My car runs awesome again.

Absolutely HORRIBLE service. To avoid confusion this is the 1108 N Hollywood Way shop. Ive been there 3 times and each time is worse than the last. Theyre so lazy and cheap they dont even put the sticker on your car after an oil change telling you when you need to come in again. Every car shop Ive been to in the last 20 years has given me that sticker. Not going into detail about the bigger things. Even a shop cant handle the small tiny things I will never trust them to do the bigger things. Regarding an oil change they were supposed to give me the expensive oil and they gave me the crappy cheap kind. I will never go to this place of lazy liars again. EVER. Horrible customer service as well. When you walk in the office they give you a look like youve shot their dog. Zero redeeming quality about this place. Close it down.

Remember all those radio commercials you hear how most transmissions dont need major repairs? Well its true! Cadillac Dealer in Sherman Oaks wanted money up front and told me they would have to take the trans OUT OF MY CAR in order to give me a diagnosis. Thankfully I decided to take my car to the Aamco in Burbank. Neil and Eric were so friendly and fully capable of answering all of my questions. They knew within 5 min that it was a rather simple repair. They dropped the pan and replaced the module at a fraction of the cost it would have cost at the Caddi dealer. If youre worried about dishonest shops I highly recommend Aamco on Hollywood Way in Burbank, tell them Rick sent you!

I will try to be brief. Our 2010 Prius has been a very reliable car and at the same time one subject to many factory recalls. I have used the dealer for service, doubling up on the service requirement, by Ex. changing the oil every 5k miles instead of the recommended 10K. By taking the car to the dealer with each service, i was handed a report card that i thought indicated every system had been inspected, including details about any and all irregularities, like the wear on such items as the brakes, transmission. Fast forward the car has 70K miles, and i returned to the Toyota dealership for another recall issue to discover that a bearing and the transmission needed replacing. I inquired with the dealership about what the report card actually represented and was informed that it just represented a visual inspection without a road test. That was never made clear nor is it stated on the report that this is a limited visual inspection, inclusive. I was very unhappy to be informed of this and felt that the dealership was negligent and untrustworthy. After a week of sitting at Hollywood Toyota, i took the car to our local Aamco in Burbank for a second option. Indeed the same conclusion was arrived at, the transmission needed replacing. So in two days Aamco had installed a used transmission with 8,000 miles on it. The work came with a limited warranty, and this resolved the problem. The communication with Ammco was straight forward, honest and the work was clean, neat and ahead of schedule by a day. I have found a new home for our two Priuss to be serviced ( The person who did the repairs has a Prius). I dont like feeling like my business forgoes caring and not being transparent about what is and isnt performed. Dealing with a dealership has always been by preference while a car is within warranty. But even now i think going to Aamco with the Prius we have, that is still in warranty, is where i will go because they look closer, and do more, like.. road test the cars, and the cost is less and it means more to everyone to establish a relationship of trust and consequence with this same small group of people whose lives and livelihood depends on being reciprocal and repeat business. Thanks to Burbank Aamco, for your kindness, trust and a wonderful beginning .

I would recommend aamco Burbank to everybody. I have a 9 year old honda and I had to fix the transmission, the honda services wanted to charge me $4200...which is what my whole car worth and of course they charged me for check up too...I went to aamco, they checked my car for free and gave me a reasonable price! Thank you!My family and I went on vacation in our recently purchased used Prius that I thought would be great on gas milage and reliable for our family road trips that we love to take. We made it to California from Colorado, and on the first day of vacationing the car decided to no longer move when put in gear. I called Aamco and Neill greeted me on the phone and had my car towed to them. Erik helped me get to a car rental and kept me regularly updated on the status of our car. The transmission was fixed quickly and I was happy! However, I had several preexisting electrical problems that Toyota was unable to solve and charged me for with no results. Aamco was able to solve and fix them for cheap in the short time they had the car. My family is home safe in Colorado thanks to the guys at Aamco. Took my car there for a rebuilt transmission. $3300 to repair it so it wasnt discounted. The service was though. I took it back 3 times because it wasnt shifting right. They tried to blame it on other stuff or my driving style until finally the 3rd time they actually drove it to see the issue and figured out what they did wrong.

Ill never take my car anywhere else. Honest reliable mechanics, low labor costs, and always friendly service.
