All you need for audio production, buy or rent the best and update gear, I have received help with all my questions and the right recommendations. Highly recommended.
I cannot speak highly enough of this shop. Its family owned and services a steadily growing clientele: from A-List Hollywood mixers to newbies just entering the craft; every friend I refer (in LA and out of state) is always blown away by their friendliness and level of customer service. Competitive prices, top-of-the-line gear (sales and rental), and they make excellent custom cables and accessories. Im a lifer.
I miss small business where you are invited to hang out and chew the fat. Yes to all the tech stuff, rentals and repairs. Service and prices. but what I like most are the people that work there. They always laugh at my jokes and love a good story.
Knowledgeable and helpful staff made my shoot a success. I explained to them my goals and intentions for the shoot and they gave me everything I needed, providing their technical expertise along the way.
I came to get my Rode Smartlav replaced as it stopped working after a short time. Since we only used it on one production it did take time before noticing that it was broken, and since I live abroad it took even longer before I could actually get to the store and raise the issue. I was however there well within a year since buying it, and I had only used it on one production. Which we shot in a day.The customer service I recieved there however, was very poor. I met two uninterested guys, one of them CLEARLY stoned. As we got in to the issue they made all sorts of excuses:-I didnt have the reciept... which I did.-It could have gotten wet.. which it hadnt.-It was of very poor quality... which they failed to mention when I bought it. (And seriously it actually isnt, and if thats true why sell it? And what a way to speak of one of your selling brands).That last argument became their focal point and they rambled on about how poor the quality was and how they werent meant to last long ( one day of recording)The cord it selv seems as durable as a normal minijack cable, and Ive had headsets from apple for years. Theyve been pulled in and out of my phone without being broken. This lav was as mentioned used once.I think it actually just was a faulty device.When they also had their stoned and couldnt-care-less-attitude as a response it made sure I will not buy anything from them again. Even though they do have a lot of great equipment and probably knowledge behind that smoked mind. But customer service... ehm no.
