My son took music lessons here for both drums and guitar. Friendly staff and good instruction. I would highly recommend Eric Denton for guitar instruction.

My kids enjoy learning music from the great teachers here so much. As I watch them growing in music, I greatly appreciate that we have a nice music school near by! The front desk lady, Ms. Carmen is a wonderful lady who makes every visit so pleasant.

I chose New School of Music for my granddaughters guitar lessons because of their talented and educated staff and their reasonable cost. She has been taking lessons from Mr. Bjorn Anderson for over a year now. Bjorn is great with kids and instills his love of music in them.

I trust her work and her advise completely. She was so patient with me and had some very unique techniques. I learned so much from her in a short period of time. About 8 years ago, I started taking voice lessons with Rick Smith, co-owner. In more recent years, I have added piano (intermittently) with Rick and violin with Anne Anderson. Two years ago I enrolled my two young granddaughters in piano lessons with Rick. I could go to other music stores much closer, but I choose to drive a pretty long distance for my granddaughters and my lessons because I feel that Rick is incomparable as a music teacher as well as the way NSM Buford is operated. Carmen, the general manager, will do back flips to make sure the customers are happy. It just doesnt get any better!

My son has been taking guitar lessons from John Pagano for a couple of years now. John is an amazing teacher, and very patient with my son (even when he doesnt practice as much as he should!) I would recommend John to everyone who wants to learn how to play music! Now my son doesnt even have to be reminded to practice, he just picks up the guitar and plays for fun!

Great, convenient location and the folks are very nice. My son has taken trumpet lessons there all school year and Don Gardo has been a great teacher for him. I was even able to get my 35 year old trumpet re-conditioned there.

I have taught piano for many years at quite a few establishments. My time teaching at New School of Music Buford has been altogether the best experience of my teaching career. Rick Smith and Robert Trocina are the best--they really care about students, but they also really care about me as a teacher. That is rare in music schools these days!

I have one in piano with Mr. Zane and one in drums with Mr. Adam. The kids get a great mix of technique and fun. Adorable and easy going FREE recitals for all ages and skill sets so we have no complaints at all.

Pay close attention to their 24/hr notice cancellation policy. They have a lot of students and when people cancel at the last minute it causes their system to break down. Carmen, the director for the classes and I had a miscommunication but it was cleared up. The instructor for my son is good. She takes her time with him and she’s patient.

We have two children (previously three) enrolled at the New School of Music, Buford Highway location for several years. As children we did not have the same opportunity to take formal music lessons ourselves, but as adults we knew that research has demonstrated that music training has long-term positive impact on children in many areas, e.g., verbal, cognitive, and critical thinking skills. I have been a student at NSM since I was 17 years old. 10 years later and I came back for more lessons. I am currently taking violin lessons from Anne Anderson, who is an amazing violinist and great teacher. Shes very passionate about music and understanding when I have had little practice time. I have a crazy schedule and I am able to work it out where I can be the last lesson of the day. Mrs. Carmen, who is the front desk receptionist and handles the scheduling, is really sweet and will go above and beyond to make sure the customers leave happy. Highly recommend NSM and the teachers that teach here!

Throughout the time my son has attended the school, his skill set has improved tremendously as well as his confidence and his musical inclinations. I purchased lessons here for my wife and son as a Christmas present for them to begin this month with high hopes. We show up for their first lesson, and are told neither of their instructors are there. One supposedly tried to contact us the day before to cancel, but I never got a phone call. We were told they had no idea why the other hadnt shown up. Nothing was done to rectify the situation, but rather the person in charge just told us repeatedly it was out of her hands and the instructors fault. Very disappointed.

Signed out 9 year old up for violin lessons with Cortney Whiting, absolutely awesome lady!! Love the school and the store attached Ms. Carmin is the best and super sweet! Lessons are weekly and Cortney has let our daughter progress and develop at pace our daughter has been comfortable and it has been lightning fast! My son takes trumpet lessons with Mr. Gardo. He has done a great job and my son has improved tremendously. Mr. Gardo is great about sending the lesson schedule for each month and has worked with us to reschedule when needed.

This is the number one music school in North east Atlanta. Our teacher Angela Anzai, is so patient with both of my children. They have learned to love lessons and I dont have to coax them into practicing at home. If you are looking to choose a music school, choose this one!!!

Rented 2 instruments and after taking them back more than 6 times each for repairs still did not get them to play accordingly. Lost money and time. Never Again!!! And what’s worst after I returned the instruments I’m being charge for the same repairs they could not fix while I had them!!’ SMH..
