I thought this place was pretty awesome but I did think some of the items were a good bit overpriced. A Harry Potter book set there is way more expensive than if you bought it on Amazon. They should reconsider how they price used objects. Other than that it was a really cool store with lots of neat things. I love that it has musical instruments and a variety to choose from which I didnt expect to find in a book store setting. Really cool place. You should check it out. Not everything is overpriced.

Pretty cool store, tons of books both new and used as well as movies, music, video games, toys and other random stuff. You can find some really good deals on used books.

Amazing selection of books at very reasonable pricing! Would come back more often but I live miles away, even so, this is the one place i love coming back to. I bought a good 13 or so books for a great price!They have a great selection of manga, comics, CDs, DVDs, vinyls, games for any console, instruments, and books of any genre.

Just amazing. Being a video game collector this was like walking into nirvana. And it is set up SO well. Easy to find sections you wish to browse. Super friendly and helpful staff!

I always enjoy going to 2nd & Charles. Wonderful selection. Prices are a little steep on second hand boardgames. Things sit there for months. I would buy if they were a little more competitive.

Absolutely love this place. Got all these books less than $30. Great place for entertainment in general. Besides books they have music, games, instruments, comic books and more. The prices on most things are good. The used book prices a great. We dont go as much as we use to since the one in Athens is gone. We now have an hour or so hike to get to it. I sure hope they open another one closer. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

For an area where comic shops are non-existent and where you cant be nerd in just about anywhere, 2nd Place and Charles is not only a breath of fresh nerd air but a fun Store to visit for novels, comics, and GAMES! Awesome spot to go to for some nostalgic gaming treats and nuggets, especially if youre looking for some cool rare finds. Do you have some comics or books you wish to get rid of? Well, bring them to 2nd Place and Charles and theyll take great care of you in that. Extra friendly people as well, customer service out of this world! Definitely worth the trip if youre in the Mall of Georgia area. Nerds UNITE and rejoice!

Something for everyone. CDs, books, toys, games, movies, etc. and all at a great price. They have different deals quite often, such as buy 1 get 1 free clearance CDs. Staff is always friendly and helpful. A must visit store.

The store was very clean and the employees were very helpful and friendly! I went for some Biscuit books for my daughter and it didnt take too long to find them. The variety of products and books is fantastic and I cant wait to go back!

Great selection of books, movies and all kinds of fun stuff. Their CD selection, not so much. Staff has always been very nice and helpful. They are on the low side of trade ins though. Dont expect a good price or store credit for your trade ins. Ive been a customer since theyve opened in Buford and will remain so.

Being a video game collector this place was like a candy store and I was a little kid they had a really nice selection of different video games ranging from systems like the PlayStation 2, SNES, etc and the prices were right up my alley I definitely recommend this store for fellow video game collectors to check this place out

This is a large used books store that also sells new books. 90% is used and their prices are great for used. New books are MSRP so there arent really any discounts on that but I get the used books at a great value. You can trade in books you no longer want and get cash or store credit. Its not a huge payout but thats how they price the used books so low. They also sell records and movies. There is a bunch of Harry Potter licensed stuff which is pretty cool as well. This chain is owned by Books A Million and is probably their attempt to stay relevant. But still a great place to get cheap used books.

Neat place to shop for the most part great deals! Way off on game prices though. They had a used Pokémon game 10.00 more than a new copy. And yes I am familiar with what is considered collectors edition etc etc.

Pretty much anything you can think of as being a collection, theyve got it. Stuffed animals and Legos make a nice addition for the kids, and they have books for all ages. I love this place. Out front of the store they have like 3 Bens full of all kinds of free books movies and sometimes music CD I love looking thru the Ben cause alot of those books are good like medical, bussiness personal books. I love this place

Ive never met a staff member who wasnt nice or helpful. Everyone there is so kind and enthusiastic about whats there and will always help you find what you need. There is a plethra of things there, its not just about books or comics (although theyre great too). Games, fidgets, stuffed animals, merchandise and collectors items. I highly recommend :)

Awesome place to shop for geeks, nerds audiophiles... Basically a little for everyone. More corporate vibe so just cause they sell second hand items doesnt mean its cheap.. Prices can still be kinda high but where else are you gonna find all of that in one store? Employees are nice if approached but generally they let you shop in peace which is good. Overall I like shopping here.

Its not just a used bookstore, its a media store as well. The place is organized well and is clean. The store is fairly large with good selection. They also sell a lot of knickknacks, even some guitars. They will consider buying your used books and media giving you cash or store credit. I dont know how generous their buyback prices are. Overall, their retail prices seem reasonable, so they may not be able to pay that much for your used stuff. It is an interesting place to browse around in

Cashier was sweet and the selection was good, some things a little overpriced but thats to be expected under the thumbs of late-stage capitalism. I got a small plush toy for about 12 dollars which wasnt too bad and i hadnt seen it anywhere else. Great stuff for quirky and art/media-loving people. I will probably be back if I need a nice gift for a friend.

Great place but didnt have much of what we were looking for (pokemon toys and cards).

A very nice place that brings together comics, books, music and a little bit of gaming together in one location. They on occasion also have older systems too, so dont be surprised if you see a Ps2, Sega Genesis or even a Super Nintendo in one of the shelves. Love bringing the kiddos to this place.

It took 2 hours to get my books evaluated and then they did not take most of them.

I love 2nd and Charles! They used to have one here in Athens, but the location wasnt great so they didnt get enough business. Ive been to this location a couple times and the staff is always super nice and helpful. I even called before I made the trip over to check to see if they had a used copy of a book I was needing to get for homeschooling my daughter. Not only did the guy look it up for me, he went and got it off the shelf and put it on hold for me! I ended up buying a bunch of other books (used, Im about saving money so I can get more) for future lessons with my daughter. They have all kinds of great items here for awesome prices. We left with about 12 or so books and three 3DS games for less than $60 (I had a 10% off coupon and a couple dollars in trade in credit). I have to plan my trips here to make it worth my drive (45-50 minutes). Im hoping they eventually reopen the Athens location in a better area so they get more traffic. 2nd and Charles you should totally open up where Hobby Lobby relocated so you can be together again and that area has a ton of traffic! Just a suggestion.

Prices were very affordable, even before I found their well stocked clearance sections. All the employees were super helpful and the check out line was incredibly short.

Cool retro and oddity place

Cool place; part book store, part record shop, part Game Stop, and part Hot Topic. A little disorganized, but you can find some interesting and obscure collectibles with a little luck and some searching thanks to thier trade in policies.

I could spend hours there, oh, wait...I did. Great place to find what youre looking for. I spend most of my time in the lp section but I have ventured into the book area. Large selection. Decent condition. Overall a great experience.

2nd & Charles is a great store. They have a great selection and a vast variety of items. They are a sister company of Barnes & Noble. The only reason they didnt get a 5 star rating is there is no rewards program and they do not recognize the B&N rewards program.

Always enjoy visiting this store. The employees are friendly and there is a large variety of books, movies, and comics to explore.

Friendly staff and incredible selection!

New fave bookstore! It was my first time coming here and the staff was super helpful. Specifically Ken, Mary Beth, and Whitney. I was looking for a few used classics (at a reasonable price) and wasnt able to find exactly what I was looking for (they only had the new copies). Overall i would definitely recommend this store over Barnes & Nobles any day. You can honestly find so many books at different prices depending on the condition your wanting. In comparison to Barnes & Nobles where you can only buy used copies online and then pay a hefty shipping charge. They even have the option of selling your books- similar to going to Platos Closet. I will say that all the books I looked at looked almost new for a fraction of the price. They have such a huge variety of things such as comics, records and gadgets. I will definitely be back!

A hidden gem for collectors, thrifty shoppers, or those looking for a deal, but don’t mind purchasing used items. Most of the store is dedicated to used literature, games, music and movies, but they do offer some new items and collectibles. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. Its large and comfortable. You can be there for a long time looking around and finding the newest items. They also have a gaming area you or your kids can play while you look around.

Always love 2nd & Charles. Ive been to the 2 locations in the Denver, CO area, the one in Charlotte, NC, and the one in Dayton, OH. This location is good like the others. Friendly quick service as usual too.

Hands down my favorite book store! This location is phenomenal. The employees are always wonderful and the book selection is even better. I buy my novels, graphic novels, POP Funkos, manga and comics here. They have everything! I love the buy back program too. I also love that they sell reusable bags. Oh! And they have awesome charities you can donate to during the holidays. I could go on and on about how great this place is.

Nice to find a used bookstore

Oh my gosh this place is a gem! We went here because we happened to be in the plaza and saw it. Its so much bigger inside than you would think. They have tons of books in all genres for all age ranges.But they dont just have books! Its a second hand store with both new and old items. They have all kinds of things like art, toys, old video gaming systems with games. It was really awesome. We didnt get the chance to explore as much as we wanted because we were heading somewhere but we are definitely going back to spend some time and explore everything. My husband even suggested a date night here for us so we could take our time. Some items were so nostalgic I didnt want to leave!Great place, I wish I new about it sooner!

I just discovered the sheer awesomeness that is second and charles.. I am an unrepentant media buff and the rows and rows of movies games and books at rock bottom prices certainly tickled my fancy!!! Put that together with a great and very friendly staff and you have a winner !!
